The River Cafe

Stopped at The River Cafe just by chance, to grab a coffee, and ended up having breakfast and going back for dinner. They were so welcoming and food was so well prepared that we had to! Amazing views and delicious food. I wish I had taken more pictures! Sharing my latte (with a doggie!), my son’s waffle (he said it was the best he’s ever had) and the amazing River Cafe Seafood platter we had for dinner. No words for their raspberry cheesecake 😋😋😋 Thank you The River Cafe. Willing to come back to Tassie just to eat at your place 🤗

Following our seahorse tour, we visited this establishment. The cuisine was exceptional. Although the wait time was somewhat extended, it was ultimately worthwhile. The river view offered an invaluable experience. I highly recommend a visit.

Great cafe with views over the water. Staff were very hospitable. Food was wonderful - we had battered fish & chips, and the salt & pepper calamari. Coffee was great and hot.

Decided to come and have a breakfast here today. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing ! Perfectly cooked and flavourful. (Especially the baked beans - I need that recipe!!) And gorgeous view. Thankyou. We will be back !!

Absolutely love The Riverside Café! The service was exceptional, every staff member greeted us with such genuine smiles, making us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. You can really tell they put care into everything they do. Every dish is served with care and looks as good as it tastes. Everything about The River Cafe is great – the beautiful setting, the kind staff, and the delicious food. It’s a place I would happily visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable breakfast.

Food was delicious 😋! Staff were very friendly 😊. Great view of the bay. This Cafe is just down the road from the Seahorse World so made it very convenient for lunch afterwards.

A Hidden Gem for Breakfast Lovers! We stumbled upon this spot during our trip, and it turned out to be an absolute delight! Their English breakfast eggs and toast were perfectly cooked—the eggs had a rich, creamy texture, and the toast was just the right mix of crispy and chewy. Every bite felt like a comforting hug in the morning. But the real showstopper was their avocado toast with zucchini. It was a flavor explosion! The avocado was fresh and buttery, the zucchini was thinly sliced and lightly seasoned, and the whole dish was topped with just the right amount of seasoning to elevate it without overpowering the natural flavors. Every bite was bright, fresh, and utterly satisfying. The ambiance was cozy, the staff were friendly, and the food was easily the best breakfast we’ve had in a very long time. We’re thrilled to have found this place and would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a memorable breakfast experience.
