The River Deck Cafe

Seriously just go here for the chips, they are proper good crispy, well seasoned and awesome. Oh and the scallops, who new so far inland you can get good sea food. The kids fish and chips uses the same barramundi as the main meal just smaller, it's perfectly battered, come here with two or more kids and get a bunch of fish and chips and save money on the adult main meal. - actually seriously though the chips are good. We had prawn and truffle pasta, the baked cheese, all the food was amazing, there's a playground and a nice deck to sit on, however the deck is west facing so on clear days bring the sunscreen or a hat if you're a bit white like me.

We recently stayed in Albury for a couple of days and came to the River Deck Cafe for lunch. We were blessed with amazing weather and had a seat in the sun for lunch. I had the most amazing duck dish for lunch - honestly the best meal of our entire trip for 2 weeks. I highly recommend for people to visit here for a lunch or dinner, not only is it a lovely spot on the Murray River, but the staff are very friendly and efficient and the menu is amazing!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! Perfectly located next to a huge park with a fantastic playground, it’s the ideal spot for a family outing or a relaxed catch-up with friends. There’s plenty of parking available, and after a hearty meal, you can take a stroll along the scenic walking track to walk it all off—such a great bonus! We visited in the morning and, while there was a queue to get in, the line moved quickly and efficiently, showing just how well-managed the place is. We ordered their signature big brekkie—my son couldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was! I had the zucchini avocado fritter and it was absolutely next-level—fresh, flavourful, and perfect for those looking for a healthier option without compromising on taste. My daughter had the scrambled eggs with bacon, plus a babycino, and she was all smiles. We also tried their detox juice, which was refreshing and clearly made with quality ingredients. On top of the fantastic food and setting, the customer service truly stood out. Our waitress was incredibly warm, friendly, and super informative—she made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. Highly recommend this place—great food, wonderful service, and a location that makes the whole experience even better!

Good food, good views and great atmosphere. Food was well made, I have nothing negative to say. Service is slightly questionable. Staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there, speaking to them seemed like a chore to them. Would definitely recommend if you’re passing by.

Great little park outside Coffees were perfect. Great service. Tenders are a massive serve. Boys shared Fantastic chips too Fireplace is so inviting. Great views.

Lovely day and sitting outside under the patio is even better. Food tasted delicious. We ordered beef Bennie and corn and haloumi fritters. So beautiful by the river. Highly recommend if you pass Albury.

We arrived at 11:30 which is apparently the cut off for brunch and so we ordered lunch. In short, lunch wasn't what we were after and what we received didn't convince us otherwise … the burger tasted like not much (both who ordered were in agreement) and the giant arancini was a bit mushy. the chips and aioli were great though. Will we return for the brunch we sought? Probably not.

absolutely loved our brekkie at the river deck cafe! the view over the murray is chef’s kiss. coffee and staff 10/10. whether you’re road tripping through or you’re local, this place is a must!

Pricey, small portions, think they're trying to be something they're not. This isn't Sydney. Would need some convincing to return. Plenty of better value restaurants in Albury to choose from.

First visit? Food was excellent. However, second visit? Sous Vide meat was cut lengthways, consequently stringy and too tough to eat. After complaining about the meal, they asked if we wanted dessert! Also outdoor dining with wasps a problem and table service was slow. Won't be returning to this venue.
