The 24 Best Places to Go Glamping in California

"Set to open on Memorial Day weekend on 12 acres shaded by Russian River Valley redwoods, the property will feature 40 furnished tents with guests sharing a modern bath house. Central amenities include two pools—a 60-foot circular pool and a smaller rectangular pool called "The Little Dipper"—and a poolside bar serving snacks, sandwiches, and sweet treats." - Chelsee Lowe Chelsee Lowe Chelsee Lowe is a Los Angeles-based writer with an obsession with good eats and interesting stories. Honestly and amazing gem. The Russian River has a lot of cool things, but nothing like this. The design of the hotel is beautiful, the thinking behind it is sustainable and thoughtful, and the staff is obviously very interested in the local community. The food and drinks are incredible (whoever made their constantly changing drink menu is a genius) and the staff super friendly. Love that this is a new treat for people on the river.

The poolside experience at River Electric was absolutely perfect for our team’s summer outing! We had about 40 people, including adults and kids of all ages, this place offered the perfect setting for everyone to bond and have fun. We had a private pool, along with a bar and bartender to take care of our food and drink orders, making the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. Everyone had an amazing time lounging, socializing, and soaking up the sun. We worked with Marissa, and she was fantastic in coordinating the event. Highly recommend!

Like the other reviewer, I’ve experienced this place both as a mom to a toddler and as an adult traveling alone and let me tell you, it's amazing either way. When I visit with my kid, there's plenty of kid-friendly food, and we spend hours in the big pool having fun together. The best part? I still get to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and feel like I’m on vacation even while parenting. When I’ve come without my kid, enjoying their delicious drinks at the adult pool is my go-to. It's just steps away from the main pool but somehow has a totally relaxed, peaceful vibe. Yes, it’s camping, which means you might hear a bit of noise from nearby tents (I've heard they’re planning to expand that area next season!), but honestly, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how respectful other guests are. Even my friends who have never won any awards for being quiet know it’s "whisper o'clock" when we’re back from town and going to bed. The tents are so comfortable and nicely decorated as well. The staff is consistently friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you're coming with your family or for a grown-up getaway, the whole place just feels good to be in. Bonus tip: they host adult-only days with DJs and events, which are super fun. I highly recommend planning your visit based on the vibe you’re looking for and definitely call ahead to make sure the adult pool isn't reserved for a private event if that’s part of your plan.

A Perfect Poolside Experience! I recently spent the day with my husband and young kids at this amazing pool and I’m already planning my next visit! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, with crystal-clear water, plenty of comfortable lounge chairs, and just the right amount of music to set the mood without being overwhelming. But what really sets this place apart is the food. Absolutely incredible! I wasn’t expecting much beyond typical poolside snacks, but I was blown away by the quality and flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Whether you're coming to swim, sunbathe, or just eat great food with a view, this spot delivers. Highly recommend for a relaxing and indulgent day out!

Google
Absolutely love this place. The vibes are immaculate, music great, food delicious, and drinks hit the spot. Have stayed the night (beds so comfy!!), and just visited for the day. With the cute little foldy lawn lounge chairs they give you, there’s always a good spot to post up whether you’re seeking sun or shade. The staff is kind and accommodating and I’m so impressed overall with the service. Amazing for day trips- and also an incredible spot for private events! In early July we threw our wedding after party/decompression at River Electric and it was the absolute perfect place to gather and relax. They have really easy delicious catering options and the small pool can be bought out for up to 40 people, SO fun! Truly a staple this summer. Run don’t walk!

Google
Amazing days at the pool - perfect way to kick off summer! Have spent two days poolside with day passes - one in a cabana with family and another either chaises with friends. Fantastic service, really delicious food and drinks, and lots of thoughtful touches. The place is so well designed, and strikes the perfect balance between bougie and bohemian - just like the Russian River area itself. Can’t wait to stay overnight soon - the tents look so cozy. Would also be perfect spot for an event.

Lauren Moriarty

Google
My family went for the day - initial impression was wow what a beautiful space! Well designed and felt like they were trying to bring some 1 hotel elegance to the Russian River. Execution missed though, the pool water was over treated and made us itchy upon exit, all 3 outdoor showers were not just out of order but visibly busted, the property was swarming with yellow jackets and it was impossible to eat without them landing on your food and swarming. I’d personally rather be on the river at one of the beaches for driving all that way. Friends stayed overnight the night before and reported beds were comfy and tents were very close together. Carrs roadside on the way home for burgers and ice cream was a hit.

Google
Went to the pool with a day pass and loved it! Such a great spot in a great location. Service was great, and the food and drinks were delicious. I was especially pleased about the yummy vegan options — and soft serve! Definitely want to return for an overnight stay.

Yelp
This spot is the perfect way to vacation close to home. A quick drive from the Bay Area gets you walking distance to bars and restaurants in Guerneville while staying at a gorgeous new oasis. - Amazing drinks, creative and fresh -great, simple but diverse menu (tofu gyro? I'm not even vegan) -beautiful chic design (bar tile is perfect) -hospitality forward (hair dryers in the vanity area, ear plugs in your tent, delish continental breakfast) -BEST merch shop -friendly and helpful staff (love seeing local kids working there!) -cutest lawn chairs (need for home ASAP) -comfortable beds!!! In a tent! We went as a family and had a blast. There is plenty of room for kids to roam and an adult only pool. Ice cream treats for kids and drinks in the sun for adults. Huge lawn to spread out with your friends and family and if you want to explore it's right down the street! Surrounded by redwoods for day hikes and then can come back and relax in a pool. Dream. It's amazing how they transformed an old amusement park into this fantastic property. In awe of the vision and execution. 100% coming back and can't wait to plan a girls day pass trip too!

Zahra D.

Yelp
WOW! I visited the RE in June with a day pass and was stunned from the moment we got there. You start at the entrance with a beautifully designed front desk experience with places to lounge while you get checked in or browse all the fun bits and bobs (I think I have found my new favorite sunscreen). We were with a group of friends and shared a cabana along with a few sun loungers and had the perfect afternoon of eating, drinking, swimming, and lounging. Staff was fantastic and super helpful. We don't have kids so bounced from the main pool to the adults only area which was a nice touch. The food was pretty amazing and the drinks were perfect (shout out to the loaded fries, the smashburger, and soft serve)! I couldn't recommend this more if you are looking to feel like you are on vacation even if you live nearby.

Haley T.

Yelp
Really great food, drinks and super cute environment! The only bummer is we were upsold on lounge chairs, paid the fee, and then walked to the pool to see that there were none open. We were given a refund but I wish they numbered the lounges and assigned them at check in or had someone making sure groups weren't taking more than they paid for. I'd love to come back again and reserve chairs but don't want to feel like we have to rush and get there early to make sure we're actually getting what we're paying for.

Yelp
This place is adorable, but very over priced if you stay the night!! I convinced my bf to come here with me for the weekend a month ago. We stayed Sat/Sun and left on Mon morning. We got their last ADA glamping tent, which with taxes and fees was $775/for 2 nights. We asked for an early check in, and were told they might be able to accommodate a 3pm check in, but no earlier. And that if we wanted to come and use the pool before we officially checked in, that they would charge us each a day use fee of $35 (even though we were staying there for the weekend). That really rubbed me the wrong way! Anyway, they have 2 shallow pools, 1 kid friendly and 1 adult pool. To say this place is kid friendly, is an understatement!! It was crawling with kids, who were having a blast! They have a nice bar, but the one drink I ordered had NO alcohol in it and was pre-made! I didn't get a chance to order any food, but it looked good! They have gazebos for rent, but they are really expensive! I think $350 for the day, but don't quote me since it's been a month since I stayed there. You can also rent chairs, but I'm not sure of the price. They give you a nice white towel to use whether you are there for the day or staying for the night. They also include a nice breakfast in the mornings for the glampers, that we were not expecting! It had great hot biscuits with jams and really good home made granola, as well as some hard boiled eggs. They have a nice looking tea (I didn't try it, but they do sell it in their cute gift shop) and juices, coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom is communal and located near the main pools. They have a handful of showers and bathrooms in them, but I sometimes had to wait to shower. They also have an area for you to get ready and blow dry your hair/do your makeup at. But we really wished they had another bathroom, since it seemed like a far walk when you had to pee in the middle of the night! The room itself was super simple, it has a king bed, a rug, 2 nightstands, 1 chair and a place to lock your belongings up. You can't lock the door, which made me uneasy at first , but it really wasn't that bad, I'm just not used to it. It has electricity, so we were able to charge our phones while we were there. I was afraid I would be cold at night, but it was surprisingly really warm and cozy!! The pillows and mattress were really nice, and the rug was sooo soft on my feet!lol I will definitely go back to River Electric, but I will not be staying the night again! Now if I had kiddos, I probably would stay the night, since it's great for kids/families. But for the price, I would much rather stay at a nice hotel and have hotel amenities; bathroom in my room, robes, hot tub, room service etc. But I would go back for day use, since it is super nice to have a pool with a bar and food to order!!

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere. Bad drinks. Margaritas are easy. 3 ingredients. It had no taste. No tequila taste. No lime taste. A kind of off-putting after-taste. Was it a cheap tequila or too much Cointreau? In addition they use a strange kind of ice that is kind of slushy but bigger chunks. Not good. Just cubes please.

Yelp
Amazing location, so beautifully styled - and the setting is so pretty, it's hard not to relax here! We camped as a group of us and our kids. It was so fun - highly recommend getting a poolside cabana for groups. The pool is 3ft deep all around so it's not a place for kids to go wild with floaties or do cannonballs, which I highly appreciated. So if that's what your kids are hoping for, then this is not the place for you. They got their wiggles out on the river. Delicious menu and easy QR code ordering made it super easy to order and to keep checks separate. My kids had a great time here as a launching pad to explore Guerneville and camp without the hassle. The tents are simple and cute, beds are super comfy! Bring everything you need for camping under the stars to be prepared though - like a lantern, etc. They don't do s'mores which was our only complaint. All in all a special place for "treat yourself" camping.

Yelp
Booked online 2 day chaise lounge passes to the pool! We were told I booked the regular kids pool and asked if I wanted to move to the adults only pool which is what we wanted! She assigned us chaise lounge chair numbers and off we go! The property is stunning surrounded by redwoods, what a beautiful place to glamp! Your day swim passes includes: access to both pools (kids + adults), towels, a portable lawn chair (unless you upgrade to chaise lounges), with the upgrade you get table side food and beverage ordering service, indoor + outdoor shower (includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash). We swam for a bit, soaked up the Sonoma County sun, enjoyed the fresh air and the awesome music! We ordered the River Rat Fries and drinks but the yellow jackets kept bothering us so we moved our food over to the restaurant and bar. It got worst there. A staff member gave us a bug repellant fan which worked for a bit but then the yellow jackets bought all their friends and we couldn't eat anymore! We stayed for about 3 hours but easily, next time we come we will stay the whole day! The only other annoying thing besides the yellow jackets are people who don't pay for the upgraded chaise lounge chairs but sit there anyways! They got away with it for 2 hours until the actual people who paid showed up and kicked them out of their chairs. Even after that, they moved to another set of chairs when staff finally noticed and kicked them away! I wish everyone was respectful but you get those people everywhere you go.

Yelp
Stellar experience. Vibes: deep cut R&B b and pop family friendly but not corny tunes. I think I heard some Turkish music?? Food: vegan and veggie options a plenty. And food your kids will eat but not total garbage. Amenities: fluffy over sized towels, chair side service, shampoo, conditioner and body wash ash in the showers. Inclusive: AGR, queer friendly, could be more racially diverse Clean grounds! Costumer service: from check in to poolside all staff welcomed our family of 3 warmly Just a little over an hour from the east bay. A hidden gem worth the trip. Bonus near the river so bring your tubes and make it a multi day trip! Can't speak to the glamping setup other than it looks super cute and safe. We'll be back!

Yelp
Came here to check it out! Cute video of how this place came into fruition on their IG: @riverelectric. It's a campground with a community pool! And glamping it seems, which is a perfect thing to do in Guerneville. I'm into it! Two pools, one is adult only and further away from the main pool. Super fun vibe, music blasting, really chill and bar/food easily accessible. The servers are awesome. You can order food from your chair while you sunbathe. Very kid friendly. Towels and padded lawn chairs are available for your convenience. Bathrooms equipped with showers. They are really nice! Yummy items on their menu like a salmon nicoise, smashburger, hot dog with caviar n crème friache, fresh homemade potato chips, paletas, and lots more. The cocktails are fantastic too! I loved the Bloody Mary sub with tequila. They didn't have reposado so settled for Espolon blanco, which is their top shelf. Their bartender made every drink delicious. We will come here all summer! So happy they opened this spot up. As a local, this is definitely a perk for us. We had an issue with our order, which was taken care of. Thanks Haley and team. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
River Electric is the other happiest place on earth. Incredibly well designed with modern, colorful umbrellas and cushions, amazing menu and food, and great drinks. I love all the salads, the fries, the tackle box and the burger. My son always gets the hot dog and ice cream. All the red wines are slightly chilled to perfection. Oh and free sparkling water on tap. A dream!! Great for adults, awesome for kids. Overall an amazing vibe where you feel like you both had a day in nature and went to your favorite bar/restaurant. The pools are perfection. If you want to spring for a cabana, it's worth it but I'm happy on a cushion on the grass too. And it's great to stay too. I'm very sensitive to noise and it's surprisingly quiet. When we stayed, kids played until way past their bedtime on the big lawn while the adults drank cocktails and sat around the fire pit. You wake up in the redwoods in a beautiful grove. There's a great continental breakfast and good coffee too. Everything you want, nothing you don't. The owners have created the perfect vibe. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Promising start, but the wasps were out of control This place is gorgeous, and I think it's going to evolve into a must-see Guerneville destination. We had a lot of fun at the pool and getting to sleep on the property was really enjoyable as well. Our beds were slanted and seemed to cave in a bit, which was surprising given how high quality everything else seemed. Unfortunately, right now the yellow jackets are out of control and it really put a damper on our trip. We tried to eat at the restaurant both evenings, but gave up because our food was so swarmed with yellow jackets. I'm talking 10-20 at a time. They followed us to the pool chairs, the cabana - anywhere there was food, the wasps would swarm. One stung our son in the arm, which was really a bummer. I saw some standard traps around, but they need to take this to another level. I.e. probably find a hardcore wasp expert to find the nest in the ground and dig it up. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qCvpoPsgYc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GNExVB20Ls I really hope they get this under control because this place has so much potential to be amazing

Kathy W.

Yelp
Just do it! Yes, a bit pricey but worth every penny. The staff was super helpful, kind and friendly. The pools were clean and inviting. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The continental breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fresh squeezed juices, fresh from the oven biscuits, and coffee to die for. The entire experience was incredible. Will be staying again next year. Great place for a large family reunion.

Yelp
I'll start with some positives: - pretty property, very Instagramable - Tasty drinks - comfy beds -nice showers with provided products such as shampoo, cond, and body wash. - adult pool but I saw several parents leave their kids at the regular pool and go to the adult pool to have quiet time...the children still came over to the adult pool to ask for things from their parents. - easy walk to town Negatives: - you have to pay for pool chairs, even as a guest who pays $350/night...mind blowing! - No provided towels, unless you request one...also mind blowing. - 4 bathrooms for 40+ tents...waiting in line to use the bathroom in the morning while a bunch children scream. - the bigger main pool is for all of the families, but it's all children's screaming all day. - tents way to close together...0 privacy. One family on each side of us gave their children walkie talkies so it was a surround sound of conversations btw children saying the same shit over and over. - kids screaming at 6am - quiet hours don't apply to families and children. - yellowjackets, it's out of control. Walked up to the bar and all of the food waiting to go out had yellowjackets all over them. - coed bathrooms with three showers and 4 bathrooms stalls for way to many families with tons of children. This spot has a ton of potential. They need to divide the campsite into family sections and sections where ppl want peace and quiet. It wasn't a relaxing weekend at all. It was chaotic with parents not controlling their children. We were supposed to stay Friday-Sunday morning but we ended up leaving mid stay bc we knew we would be woken up by a bunch screaming and crying babies.

Yelp
The folks did a nice job on the build! Beautiful pool area with very thoughtful touches. Great pool food and cocktails. We stayed the night and the one glaring miss was how close they chose to put the tents to each other. Too close. I would recommend a visit to river electric but would not recommend a sleep over. With kids and not very thoughtful adults and the ooor placement of tents it was not and an enjoyable night.

M H.

Yelp
TL;DR: It's okay. Worth a day pass for the right scenario, but food, beverage and overnight stay are all overpriced. - Food was decent, but nothing to write home about - gift shop is A+ - Both pools were much smaller than you'd expect, and only 3ft depth through. I would've preferred the adult only pool but it was so small that it felt claustrophobic when sharing with 5 other adults with same preference, so I went to the main pool - If you stay overnight, you get a day pass for the following day. Given that check out is 11am, which is earliest that the pool is open for a day pass, it would make more sense for you to be able to enjoy the day (and drink, if you imbibe), then re st up until check out the following day. I ended up buying a day pass upon arrival so I could enjoy the pool day and then rest in my tent for the night. - Despite renting a tent, you have there's an additional fee to secure a pool chair - There is only one building with communal bathrooms and showers - shared with day guests as well as those who stay overnight. The venue has 40 tents available, on there are only 3-4 bathroom stalls. This could be problematic. - Pool and bathroom was clean enough, but given foot traffic during the day, I'd expect to see more janitorial presence Good for: - Families with kids! They'll have a blast - Your partner who despises the ideaof camping - A girls trip/bachelorette, etc. - Anyone passing through the area, it would make a great lunch / pool pit stop - Anyone who is reallyyyyyy craving a pool day - which can be quite rare in the Bay Area

Clean and comfortable space to have lunch and watch kids float. The kids food menu passed the picky test!

Yelp
Just had a pretty crappy customer service experience after a couple of really cool visits. The first time we came, we spent nearly $400 dollars on a Friday, before we found out about local's day. We had a nice time, but we ended up spending a ton of money. To preface, we are actually locals (95436 zip), and we came here today on local's day (Tuesday) to have fun with other area friends. Some people took off work post-July 4th to join us. We were turned away, rather rudely, on what was supposed to be our local's day. - I politely asked if we could get a voucher to return on another day. No. - Can we get some drink coupons for next time? No. - What about guest passes for our friends who were going to join us, for another day? No. - How about anything conciliatory for the inconvenience? No. And the kicker....can we just come back another day? The guy said we should look on instagram. Well, when we got home, we logged on to Instagram...according to the page, the locals day is literally moved to tomorrow, which is what WE ASKED. He said nothing about it. He offered zero sympathy, zero advice, and treated us like we were annoying because we weren't guests. The guy didn't even mention that we could come back tomorrow for local's day. Instead, condescendingly, we were told to "look on instagram" for updates. Hey River Electric....this is why the locals talk smack about you. It's a shame after we dropped so much money with you two times prior and you then treat us like second class citizens when we thought we were building a rapport with a local business. Your word of mouth around town is souring. We actually defended a lot of negative talk because of our first visits...but now it seems like there might actually be a legit reason for the negativity from some of the local folks. We didn't experience that until today.

Yelp
As a local, I was super excited about locals day in Tuesday. I thought it was very thoughtful to do of them but after getting turned back TWICE, I see what their priorities really are. Why sell day passes to non locals on Tuesdays when you KNOW it's locals day?? Only 40 passes saved for locals while general public gets over 140?? The pools do look smaller than expected but who knows when we'll get to try it out, I'm thinking never now! Unless these owners start prioritizing locals.

Yelp
What an amazing escape! A beautiful pool nestled in the red woods! The staff is great the food was amazing

Yelp
I've been meaning to write this after a few visits--because River Electric deserves the love. What makes it special is how rare it is to find a place that offers a range of experiences with a pool. I've come with my 4-year-old daughter (she's obsessed), I've come with my girlfriends for restorative, giggly hangs, and I've even been here for a friend's birthday where we danced by the small pool and got treated to a surprise drag show--all without disrupting the main chill zone. The music is always on point, the food is great, and the drinks are even better. Yes, the yellowjackets can be annoying in summer (Guerneville-wide issue), but thankfully the bar has those little blade fans that help keep them at bay. As a parent, I just want to gently say: this place welcomes families, which is rare and amazing--so let's not mess it up by forgetting our kids still need supervision. I hate to call anything "cool" now that I'm in my 40s because... what even is cool anymore? But River Electric is cool without trying. Minimal but lively, chill but never boring. I'm so grateful it's nearby--it's a summer staple for me now.

Rosanna V.

Yelp
River electric is an absolute must hang spot this summer (and all summers to come). The food, drinks, music, and vibe are great and the staff is so accommodating and kind and on top of it. There's something for everyone- an adult only pool as well as swimming for the whole family. Local days on Tuesday, pop ups with special local food on Thursday's this summer, I love seeing them integrate in the community and make sure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy. The beds are super comfy too if you plan to stay the night. We recently threw our wedding after party here and it's a DREAM for private events. Their catering menu is great and you can buy out the small pool without having to buy out the entire venue as well, which makes for a really accessible fun private party. go go go!

Yelp
Excited to visit this new spot in town. Reserved our chaise lounges and day pass online for our party of 7. Easy check in online. We were greeted by friendly staff. When you're by the pool you can order your food online and it's brought directly to your chair. Food and drink was delish. Juat a suggestion when booking a chaise it would be nice if the chairs had a reserved sign on them for your party. This would prevent people who hadn't reserved from sitting in them. When we arrived our party couldn't find chairs grouped together due to this. That aside, the grounds are beautiful and you can tell a lot of love and care was put into this site. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
We had a very disappointing experience here today. We came all the way from the Bay Area, excited to sit by the pool and soak up some sun with our family. But our visit was cut short--after just 20 minutes, we had to leave. The wasp situation was truly unbearable. We were swarmed as we tried to have a snack, and it was impossible to relax. My family and I have been coming up to the Guerneville, Monte Rio, Duncans Mills, and Rio Nido areas for over 20 years, renting homes all along the Russian River, and we have never seen anything like this. The sheer number of wasps at this location was astonishing; it felt as though we were standing directly on a nest. We will not be coming back. It was not a pleasant experience at all. If you do drop in, make sure to bring an EPI pen or steer clear if allergic to the stings

Theresa B.

Yelp
River Electric was everything and more than what you see in the photos. The grounds and overall aesthetic are beautiful. The pool, bar, and food were all great--every drink we had was delicious, and the poolside service was fast and friendly. One of the biggest takeaways from our weekend is that this place is perfect for families. The pool, bar, and grassy play area are all safely fenced in, which makes it easy for kids to run around while parents relax nearby. There's a ton of space, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. That said, as someone without kids, I'm not sure I'd go back. It honestly felt like you couldn't escape droves of children anywhere on the property. Even the adult pool--which was very nice--only had a limited amount of chairs to sit - meaning if you came later in the day you would have to be immersed in all the family action going on. The tents are beautiful, but extremely close together, so we were woken up multiple times during the night by babies crying. It might be worth considering designated family and adult-only camping areas to allow everyone to have the type of experience they're looking for. At all times, we felt like we had to tiptoe around and whisper inside our own tent so we didn't accidentally disturb a nap. The bathrooms were not amazing and always felt over-crowded. They are all gender-neutral, including the toilets and showers, which in theory is fine--but in practice, it felt chaotic. There were whole families constantly coming and going, making it feel crowded and a bit stressful when you're just trying to shower or brush your teeth. On top of that, the bathrooms often lacked basic supplies like toilet paper, soap, or towels. It seemed like they were understaffed for how many guests they had. Also worth noting: even if you're staying at the hotel, you still have to pay extra to use a chair by the pool and wear a wristband. It felt a bit nickel-and-dimey, especially considering the overall price point. It would make more sense (and feel more welcoming) if pool seating was simply included with your stay. Overall, River Electric is a gorgeous property with great food and drinks, and it clearly caters well to families. Just something to keep in mind depending on what kind of getaway you're hoping for.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. It has all the things I'm looking for in a day trip but unfortunately my pool day visit was not up to par. I'll start with the positives: 1. Food and drink were delicious (although way overpriced in my opinion) 2. The design of the place is beautiful. The negatives... 1. Communication - my friends and I booked separate reservations. We didn't know we had to call to request to be sat together (I assumed it was a first come first serve on picking your own chaise seats which I guess was my bad). But either way - the front desk staff was just rude and unhelpful. Basically they just looked at me and said "well that's about all I can say about that" when they denied my request to be seated next to my partner even though it seemed arrangements could have been made. My check in staff person didn't even really welcome me to river electric. They didn't tell me what to do once I got my chair number, didn't tell me where restrooms were, how to order food, etc. I will say that the other attendant was lovely and helpful (they were helping my friends so I switched over to her and asked her questions instead of my original attendant). Overall it was a bad way to start my day at the pool and left a bad taste on the quality of my experience. 2. Price - you're gonna spend $$$ here between the $55 chaise lounge and the $18 cocktails and food. Feels a little over the top for the experience you receive. 3. Children - soooooo many screaming children. It was honestly insane. I was laying on my chair getting splashed left and right. If you're looking for a relaxing day this isn't the spot for you. 4. Pools - given that there were so many kids, my friends and I wanted to go to the adults only pool. Sadly the pool water was SO warm in the adult pool that we couldn't even go in. It was borderline bathtub / hot tub temp. Not refreshing at all on a 90 degree day so we had to grin and bear it with the kids where the pool was much cooler. The larger pool is just a glorified kiddie pool. 3 ft deep so you're barely getting your torso wet, pool toys everywhere, honestly semi dirty water from all the kids going in and out of the pool constantly. Just not relaxing or up to the price tag. Overall - I would probably skip this place moving forward. There are far nicer pool experiences out here in Sonoma County that actually provide the service and quality of experience a lot of us are looking for. I hope they can improve their business model and level of service, but for now this place isn't it. I'll be sticking to an actual river beach day over this place next time I'm in Guerneville.

Yelp
First, the positives: the property is beautiful and the staff is friendly. I've been here twice on a day pass. The first time was enjoyable for the most part. While there is a sign that says there is a lifeguard on duty, it is not evident who that person is or where they are. A young child almost drowned in the middle of the pool right before my eyes. Parents are using this place loosely as a daycare and are not supervising their children. Furthermore, a child acting as somewhat of a pirate(literally and figuratively) engaged in imaginary play, raised a fist at me, and attempted to hit me when I very nicely asked him to please give our pool noodle back that we had brought because we were leaving. My second visit was less enjoyable than the first. There were so many children(I am a parent and I love children) running and screaming non-stop, selling bracelets to patrons(?odd?), and forgetting to use their manners. Yes, the place is beautiful and so aesthetically pleasing. The food and drinks are also super creative and fun, and made with quality ingredients. But, it's really hard to justify the price points with not a moment's peace. I had booked a tent for Labor Day weekend and was very excited about it, but after my second visit I just couldn't imagine spending that kind of money for a subpar experience. I really wanted to love this place, and I was so excited for it to open. Maybe after the kinks are worked out, it will become a more enjoyable place to spend time and money.

Yelp
RE is still finding what it wants to be. I stayed here and it is quite evident this is more a family destination than for adults. In terms of lodging, the tents are extremely close together and offer zero privacy. There's no hangout spot past 10pm, unusual for a "campsite." The craziest thing is that despite paying a significant amount for lodging, that does not include a chair by the pool. That is another up-charge. A note to management, small things like this make customers feel bamboozled and your staff is not equipped to assist. Property is pretty, but unless you are a family looking for a summer camp vibe with kids everywhere, I would not recommend.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE FOR ANY TYPE OF ROMANCE this place is cute, and my lover and I thought it would be a great place to decompress after san francisco pride. we were planning to have a romantic getaway, however the tents are so extraordinarily close together we could literally hear someone snoring in the tent to our left all night, and to the right a couple WHISPERING to each other, and at one point a small child RECITING THEIR PRAYERS. sex was out of the question, would've felt ILLEGAL to be honest. btw the property is huge, it's mind boggling that the tents would be that close together (3 feet?!!!) Will 1000% never stay here again. bizarre price tag for zero privacy. and before you say "well it's glamping what did you expect?" -- we've glamped several times and nowhere else has ever had the tents this close together. felt like staying at a super expensive church camp.

Yelp
Since it opened RE has become a regular spot for us to hang by the pool and eat some snacks while enjoying an adult beverage or 3. The service staff has been amazing. Highly recommend to all friends and family coming to the area. I would give 6 stars if possible but we don't yet have the technology.

Yelp
So sad to have to write this review but: WAY TOO MANY KIDS. all you hear the entire time is screaming children running around. Even at like 6 am (like others said some family had walkie talkies and it was just incessant) this is not what people want when they go to guerneville, people want to be in the quiet of nature. also no privacy between tents, like space them out a bit at least. Even with the provided ear plugs we could hear the tent next to us snoring the ENTIRE night. Way too many rules, like i'm sorry im in a tent and you're saying no outside food or drink? like i can't bring a simple bag of chips into my tent? only popular because they have good marketing, don't fall for it, it's just a overpriced summer camp. honestly between the ($350 dollar a night) tents crammed all together, barely any restrooms, charging overnight guests for pool chairs, and no outside food or drink, it all seems like a money grab. super disappointed and def the worst place i've been in russian river :( like another guest said, we also had to leave after one night because we hated our time so much. will def be avoiding and telling others the same. would give it one start but most* of the service was great. Shout out to the manager for being cool and hearing us out.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds and facilities. Food was good! But there are lots of yellow jackets so a little uncomfortable.

Yelp
Had an incredible day at River Electric. It's so beautifully designed and modern that I was a little concerned there might be some attitude, but we were immediately put at ease by a portly bearded fellow (didn't get his name) who could not have been nicer. Throughout the day the incredibly warm staff made us feel at home. This truly is an oasis in the Russian river valley that manages to somehow be high-end, but warm and welcoming at the same time. Not easy to pull off. The food and beverages are truly some of the best in the entire county. Definitely worth it if you're in the area.

Yelp
A must see and a must experience over and over! We live in SF and it's so nice to be able to have real Summertime just a car ride away! Thank you to all of their wonderful staff who make this such a fun and welcoming space every time I've gone. The music is great, the food is wonderful (all of it is delicious but I love to get the kale caesar with salmon), the drinks are fire (my favorite is the watermelon juice add mezcal), the setting is absolutely gorgeous (you're surrounded by trees!) and their lounge and shower areas are so nice (I want the specially made shampoo, body wash and conditioner at my house). And if you stay overnight you get to sleep in a beautiful forest. I always run into cool people I know in the Bay Area which makes it even more fun. I highly recommend River Electric and can't wait to go back and back and back!

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but didn't. It's very family friendly and lively if that's what you're looking for. It's not a place to relax. "Quiet hours" are 10pm to 8am so the music is playing outdoors til 10, and then it doesn't get quiet until your neighbors decide to sleep (maybe midnight), and the kids will likely wake you at 6 or 7-again, all good if this is what you're looking for. You can hear EVERYTHING in the yurt next to you--snoring, giggles, chatting, plus the sound of flushing toilets in the communal bathroom throughout the night. Right at 8am, the gardeners start working away so you'll be eating your breakfast (tasty btw) to the sound of lawnmowers. If you are lucky like us, you'll even hear the garbage truck pounding away at 7am. I can't justify paying the high price to stay here again but maybe a day pass? After $350 a night (high resort fee and taxes), how can you still charge guests $20 to rent lounge chairs?!
