The River Retreat - Heritage Ayurvedic Resort

If there was an option to give more than 5 stars, i would have given. I am 200% satisfied with the experience I got here. All amenities, food, service top. I have been to many star hotels, but this one is the best. I came here sick after being discharged from hospital. Now I am physically and mentally rejuvenated in 2 days. Thank you The River Retreat!

We had our college alumni get together at River Retreat yesterday. The place is super, the staff were very good and the pool party was awesome! Especially in the rain! And with Bharathapuzha river flowing by side!

Prime location adjacent to the picturesque Bharathappuzha river just before the overbridge at Cheruthuruthi. This is a secure gated property with few cottages, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and outdoor dining area. The pool and the garden provide an excellent space to relax as a family. The kids had a lovely time at the pool; the changing rooms and the shower area are clean and well maintained. We had evening snacks at the poolside. We spent the next couple of hours exploring the property with lovely photo spots. The restaurant offered a good mix of Kerala, North Indian and Indo Chinese cuisine on its menu. The ambience was good and the service prompt. The food was very good. Overall it was a lovely relaxing family evening.

Absolutely fabulous place. Property is large with plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. Rooms are well kept, clean, spacious with lot of storage areas and has a safe, Mini fridge, kettle and TV. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is superb serving excellent food with generous portions and not very expensive. The location us extremely scenic and quiet. A very good place to unwind. They have Ayurvedic treatment too vouched by another guest. My thanks to the entire team and management. Only thing lacking was a common tip box. Please install that in the reception.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent stay was far below expectations. Bathroom had a lingering odor. Linens seemed old and not freshly laundered, which was concerning. Service was equally underwhelming. Staff were unresponsive and at times dismissive of basic requests, like fresh towels or help with the air conditioning, which wasn't functioning properly. It took multiple calls to the front desk before anyone followed up. For the price paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, comfort, and customer service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel and will be choosing alternative accommodations in the future.

Had a wonderful stay at the resort. The location is tranquil with beautiful river views and greenery all around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm and attentive. A perfect spot to relax and unwind...highly recommended!

I came here with my 7 friends. The room was nice but the service was not at all good. Every time we order anything they came up with on the spot bill. In every star hotels they settle bills at the end. And we booked this hotel because we thought they have spa and body massage available. They send us the brochure too stating that they have these services available. But when asking about the spa they told us that they stoped these services. They why did they send those brochure. The electricity was out for more than 3 times and it took more than 20 minutes everytime to come back. Anyway river retreat was an disappointing experience

Had a wonderful time with friends! Nice behaviour and support from the staff. Food and service were good.
