My wife and I spent 3 nights while exhibiting at the Boise valley fly fishing show and were comfortable. They had a real nice bathroom and a full size bathtub. Water pressure was great and room temperature control was also good. It didn't get too hot then too cool so sleeping well was easier. Pillows were nice as well. Only would recommend some way to make the towels softer with a slight lavender fragrance.

Overall the hotel is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the masquerade ball was a blast. However, when I called to book I tried to get a suite with a hot tub and was told I couldn't so instead I booked a riverside room. At check in they didn't have my riverside room and the agent said I got a "suite" and a $50 gift card. But she didn't tell me my suite was a parking lot view with no hot tub and that I couldn't use the gift card at the event I was booked for. Overall a great time and breakfast was amazing. But disappointed in the room and the gift to make up for it only being able to be used at select spots, none of which were the reason I was there.

We enjoyed 2 separate staycations at the Riverside hotel this past month. I believe our poolside server was named Mason. His hospitality, friendliness and approachability was great appreciated. He even brought our cocktails to our room; after we left the pool. I don’t know how he knew our room number, but to our surprise and delight he delivered our drink to the room.

We had a very disappointing experience. I should start this by saying that we stay here about 4 times a year and usually have a very enjoyable time which is what makes this experience so disappointing. We stay here for one particular reason, the outdoor pool. There are times when the outdoor pool shuts down for maintenance which is to be expected. Due to this, we always ask multiple times prior to and at check in if the pool will be operational. This time on all three occasions when we asked we were told that yes it will be open from 4-10pm. We checked into our poolside room and waited. Having never had an issue like this before, we decided to continue waiting to give them the benefit of the doubt. An hour and a half after 4pm we finely called the front desk and were told that it should have been opened at 4 and they would have someone on it. The pool was opened! Open but not very clean as there was quite a bit of debris in the bottom and floating around. We literally pulled 3 plastic cup lids and a few straws off the bottom. In addition they turned on one of the over 20 fire places and not one of the several heaters. It was in the 20’s which was one reason why we had wanted to go as early as possible. Really could have used the heaters to keep our towels and robes warm. The covers were taken off the pool and hot tub and bundled sloppily right in the walkway. At 10pm the employee promptly came out to cover the pool which he started doing with us in it. We asked if we could have a bit more time since it opened so late. The employee left and brought back the manager who told us repeatedly that they were not late opening the pool but that they only open it when requested by a guest. What? We were told it opened at 4 not that we needed to request them to do their job and open the pool when it says it opens. I guess if you want to eat in one of their restaurants, you should plan to call prior to opening to let them know you plan on eating? Ridiculous. Needless to say, we were not permitted any additional time, no effort was made to make it right or to feel like our frustrations were considered nor did it feel as though they really wanted our business.

Warning! I would think twice about coming to any event at this hotel. We came from a mystery murder dinner for valentine day. It was snowing heavily and the hotel had no parking. Most of us were instructed to drive around to the back parking lots for overflow. We came out of the event to boots on our vehicles. Several of us who attended the same event. $200 charge to have the boot removed. Yes it may not be the hotels fault entirely, but they had no signs or warnings for those of us attending the event, and they were even Instructing us to park on the backside of the hotel. We had a lit up walkway next to our vehicle leading into the entrance of the backside of the hotel. It’s disgraceful that they can hold events at Riverside, but not at all guide traffic & parking for those who are paying for expensive events on their site. I re read our instructions on our confirmation to this event and it only states self parking-free! I will never be coming to another event at this place and I will make damn sure everyone else I know is hears about this too.

I want to give 4 stars because I really did enjoy my stay. I write this review about 2 weeks after my stay and the high has died off and some things stood out. This is supposed to be a Premier Best Western and outside of the location on the greenbelt it didn't feel that way. The room was dated and the hotel in general has the feel. The outdoor pool was heated and nice during the cold nights. The problem was there is advertising for adults only after 8pm. maybe this is only a summer thing but with no specifics it would have been nice. Especially since they have 2 pools. Breakfast was good. Exceeds any hotel dining I have had. The omlette bar is a nice fun touch. Really this hotel for what they are marketing as just needs some refurbishing.

Google
Surprisingly there are no hooks in the bathroom to hang a robe or a wet towel. The television was not working in that it either had pixelated channels or no signal though others in the hotel were able to watch movies, etc. the toilet paper dispensers in the public restrooms are so close to the toilet your legs are against them yet there is more than a sufficient amount of room on the other side of the toilet for them without causing any crowding. The jets in the hot tub were not working so we basically only had a hot bath, though even that was soothing after sitting all day in meetings. Beware of the weekend buffet as the price is almost double what it is during the week yet it is still the same food. All hotel staff are super friendly and courteous and Richard, the fella that makes omelets to order, is fabulous and his omelets are the best I’ve ever tasted. Try to be seated in Melanie’s section. She will take good care of you.

The rooms were in the middle of a remodel. I am not sure if i had an old room or a new room. It was spacious. The thermostat in the room would run heat (it was January) until it got to temperature then it started blowing cold air. Then 3 minutes later the heat would have to kick back on. It was kind of a strange setup. I very much enjoyed my stay. Esperanz in house keeping was very sweet and nice as well as all the rest of the staff.

Yelp
Have stayed here twice in the last couple of years. Once for the balloon fest and just recently for a photography conference. This is actually a decent spot to stay with some great places to visit nearby. Several breweries and wine places are well within walking distance. The ability to get right to the green belt is also a plus. The restaurant has decent food and the lounge is relaxing to sit and listen to live music when available. The Sapphire Room is also included here if you're looking for a night away from home with various artists appearing. When it's open, the outdoor cafe, Sandbar Patio Bar and Grill, is also enjoyable to sit outside for some food, drink, and entertainment. The rooms we've had have all been excellent. Clean and comfortable each time. Not one complaint from us.

Yelp
Hot chocolate chip cookies every night! Fantastic staff whether it's in the restaurants or front desk. Housekeeping does a beautiful job every day. Rooms are comfortable and the linens of course always smell fresh. We enjoyed the indoor saltwater pool. While the outdoor pool is far more popular because it's near a bar and there's live music that plays in the afternoons and evenings, we felt that that was too much stimulation for our son. So we took advantage of the indoor pool. And it was great. While the indoor pool does not allow food or drink inside, there are towels available, and there is music playing over a speaker. There are numerous paths around the hotel so you can stroll down to the river if you want or over to the oversized lawn checkers or chess games available. It seems like every night somewhere music was playing. Whether it was in the main lobby or down at the sandbar restaurant. This is truly a destination hotel. There's almost no reason to leave. Free breakfast every morning and an omelette station, too! Weekend choices differ slightly from those on the weekdays. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to stay when visiting Boise. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is large, with several onsite restaurants and lots of walking areas. It has an indoor and outdoor pool, a nice large lobby, usually with live music playing. You get fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies upon check-in. The buffet breakfast, included with the price of the room, is delicious and filling. If you will be staying in Boise, check out this hotel!

Yelp
Worst hotel experience I've ever had. The rooms are awful and it's currently the middle of the night and the people in the room above are having a party or doing construction and the front desk will do nothing about it. I can hear everything from jumping on the floor to running water to doors slamming. It's going on 3 hours with no help. I want my money back and to leave this place immediately. What a joke

Yelp
This is a huge hotel. Don't bring your luggage when you check in because your room could easily be a 1/4 mile from the lobby. Check in was fast & friendly with plenty of hand outs to help you navigate the property & learn about all the venues & events . The freshly baked chocolate chip cookie was a winner. Our king room was modern & spacious Plenty of spots to charge electronics. The bed was comfortable & the room was quiet. The breakfast buffet is stellar. My caution to you goes back to my initial comment. This place is huge & therefore in virtually every public space there are dozens of people. It's bustling with people who are enjoying themselves. I was in a room that was so far from the lobby, it took 15 minutes to walk there. If you want peace & quiet, your room will provide that. Everywhere else, it feels a bit like a busy Las Vegas casino without slot machines.

Yelp
Love, Love, Love this hotel! The location is PERFECTLY close to restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and breweries plus it's only steps from the Boise River. I love the layout and we received awesome service at the front desk, in the restaurant for breakfast, and for drinks!

Yelp
Nothing I would change- an amazing property and experience! Breakfast buffet is so good and not the typical free food offering. Pool was beautiful even at the end of the season. Jacuzzi's were really warm. Dinner at the grill tasty! Our room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the river. All staff excellent, especially Jacob and breakfast staff. Big tub was so nice! Obviously a busy place but they know how to manage and keep things running smoothly. Sandbar was fun and more casual, but music in all areas was entertaining. Bar area tv is a bit small and no NFL on Thursdays but it's a minor thing. Definitely a great place to stay!

Yelp
By the way everyone talked about this place, including a real estate agent I talked to, you'd think this was a great resort type hotel. Key word being "was". I was actually surprised at how old it looked and felt and how it was in a terrible part of Boise (although we walked the Greenbelt the next morning and that was nice). It is definitely a walk to get to some of the suites, especially if you want a river view, which I wouldn't recommend because it wasn't a nice river to look at and people on the walking trail made it not so private. We checked in, changed clothes and went to the outdoor restaurant since it ws a nice day, and as we walked to our table notice hundreds of flies on the tables. UCK. We then went inside and it was the oldest restaurant, think of something in the 50s. Limited menu with lots of fish that I don't eat so got a burger, which was super good. The next morning after our walk we did the breakfast with custom made eggs (for me) and it wasn't bad. I'm not a buffet person but this was better than your average chain hotel offering of oatmeal and bagels. The manager of the restaurant (female) was extremely nice and I enjoyed speaking with her. The front desk staff were really nice too. It's just that the property was not. I would not recommend this hotel. Plus, for me, it was $250. At $150 it would have been a fair deal.

Yelp
I'm not sure why the reviews are not better for the Riverside Hotel. Yes, the building is dated, inside and out. But, the rooms are exceptional. They clearly have been updated fairly recently. The included breakfast buffet is freaking awesome! The food was delicious. There was a server there, named Diana. What a sweetheart. It was my birthday, which my girlfriend just had to make known. Diana, brought me a slice of carrot cake with a lit candle in the middle. She convinced one of her co-workers to sing Happy Birthday to me! So kind! Diana was clearly having a difficult time walking because of an apparent leg injury. But, she kept smiling and kept trucking and made sure to take care of everyone who was there. I have owned businesses and have sometimes had less-than-stellar employees. I hope the management at the Riverside knows what a gem Diana is.

Yelp
This hotel is awesome!! Extremely family friendly, love music everyday, location is amazing and right along the beautiful Boise river. The green belt runs right next to the hotel so you can rent bikes from the hotel and cruise along the beautiful river! Make sure to check out the river surfing, yes river surfing! Pool is amazing, out door and indoor pools/jacuzzis. Pool food is pretty good! The only thing they can improve on is the breakfast buffet. Good was not good, eggs were drenched in cheese, omelet line is super long, not great fruit. That's is definitely an area of opportunity for this hotel. However you are only a short 5-8 minute drive to downtown that has plenty of excellent food options! Also check out the Hyde park area! Looking for tanning? Look up Touch of sun on IG or google, it is women owned, she does amazing spray tans, teeth whitening and more! Also if visiting Hyde park check out Hayes Boutique super cute products and women owned!

Yelp
We had a great stay in May 2024. Spacious room, fantastic breakfast, extremely comfortable. Recommended!

Yelp
The sand bar and music scene on weekends is fun! Great bar service, friendly and fun. Hotel is dated, breakfast many choices, quality not quite up to par but better than some. Good table service. Rooms were very clean.

Yelp
This hotel is friendly and welcoming with a wonderful location right by the river. I took my daughter here on a staycation and we really enjoyed ourselves! Highlights are heated saltwater pool for evening swims, Christmas lights, live music and friendly staff. The rooms ate comfortable and well decorated but bring your own pillow This hotel deserves support during Covid times. Plenty of space to distance yourself.

Yelp
A great spot right in the Riverwalk. Good parking. The rooms very nice and services. The indoor pool is newly renovated and extremely family friendly. Great service at the desk. The breakfast bar is so-so. Our family used 8 or more rooms for a family reunion in Boise. We had a lovely time. There is a shuttle service which next time we will use instead of so many car rentals. The hotel is minutes from the easy-to-use airport and car rentals. Boise was a perfect year round place and we would only use the Riverside when we come back.

Yelp
The whole place including our non smoking room smelled like a smokers house. Everything about our room was outdated and old. You could clearly see surfaces and mirrors were not cleaned very well. The tub/shower didn't drain and the two shower heads were odd.

Yelp
Check in was easy. Explained everything to me about pet fees, and breakfast in the morning. He gave me easy instructions to my room and the hotel was massive. Even gave us free cookies at check in! Delicious! The grass area was right in front of room so it was so convenient for the dogs. Only upset was all the duck poop everywhere. Also these trees dropped small prickly balls and my dogs had to step on those sharp things that were in the grass. The room was clean and the TV was massive! Everything was updated and the hotel was so quiet. No noisy neighbors. Loved the huge Roman tub! We didn't get to sit down for breakfast so they let us take it to go. That was very kind of them. Only other thing that was a bummer, was the lobby was so far away from our room. Quite a walk if you needed anything. I felt safe and no issues! Great place to stay the night.
google avatar

Yelp
The second star is because we have been coming here 2-3 times a year for the last 5 years. We usually stay an extra night because of the people, food, pool and cleanliness. But this time price is out of control. Not so clean. Pool closed. 0% Hospitality. Sure miss the old riverside. We will be looking for another halfway point.

Yelp
This is a great hotel! Traveling home from SLC and just needed a place for one night. Everything was very clean and tidy. The staff was courteous and pleasant. With our AAA discount the price was reasonable. The shower was great. 2 shower heads! One bath towel was frayed at the ends but still very clean. Huge TV, small refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of outlets to charge devices. I am a late-night reader and they had these awesome small bedside lights that did not disturb my partner at all. The bed was super comfortable too. Breakfast included: there was a delicious made-to-order omelet bar, an array of fresh fruit, yogurt, and a buffet of your typical cereal, eggs, sausages, etc. The coffee and orange juice were very good. All the wait staff were nice and attentive. Would 100% stay here again. (My partner wanted to stay another night just because the hotel was so nice!)

Yelp
We just spent a long weekend here. The hotel was great and clean. I could not possibly say enough about the front desk staff. The woman that checked us in was so unbelievably friendly and nice. An absolutely great way to start the stay. The room wasn't the most lavish, but it seemed clean. A few stains on everything but nothing felt sticky. The shower has double shower beads. Definitely outdated, but again, very nice. Breakfast is included. They have a make your own waffle bar that our kid loved. The omelette bar was fantastic!! The pool was a little warm but nice. Salt water. Needed a good clean but there were a lot of people in it too. My only advice, stay away from the restraint for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
My wife and I never been to the State of Idaho. So we planed a vacation in Boise ID. We stayed at the Riverside Hotel. The room was nice, and clean. The pool was nice, along with the service. Nice music, good food Yes, I would go back. I didn't give a five star because I rarely do

Yelp
Awesome place to stay but order two drinks and pay $60 f u Booked a room from 6/11 to 6/16 went to bar and way over charged No tip for you!!! And I tip well for good service, I will be buying my achochol and drinking in my room I've from Vegas and always tip well fu bartender from 10 30 to when ever you get off of work bullshit

Kubs L.

Yelp
Really terrible experience at this hotel. They advertise that the hotel is dog friendly but upon showing up they only have a few designated "dog" rooms which are garbage. The Front Desk person - Lorie - was rude and not accommodating at all. I highly recommend cancelling at this property. Happy to explain our horrible experience. I think the manager wanted to help but he wouldn't disagree with the rude front desk person.

Yelp
Three stars on Yelp means "A-OK" and that's the right description for this hotel. They were the #2 hotel on TripAdvisor in Boise when I booked them. For a Best Western, comma, it's not bad. In fact, for any hotel, it's not bad. Pretty exterior, nice lobby, great job on the COVID-driven sanitation on check in. Beautiful location by the river. Great outdoor pool and snack bar; in many ways, the way it's set up, it feels like an oceanside hotel, but next to the river. I had in-room dining (surprise) and it was well prepared (and eggs bennie aren't easy) and served promptly. The room itself was modern, though the bathroom looked about 25 years old. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Yelp
I know it's been over a year but I'm just now seeing that they replied, and yeah they definitely never sent out an email. You'll have a better time and pay less at the Hilton a few miles west on chinden.

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a two night stay here October 12-14th because I needed a nice place to recharge alone after a very stressful few weeks. We live locally and have always thought a staycation at the Riverside would be a great idea. I stayed in a king room by myself and was eager to get some much needed rest and experience a relaxing couple of days. My stay was not what I had hoped it would be. But I'll start with the positives: 1. Room was spacious and well equipped with a nice big tub, ample pillows, warm blankets, generous sized mini fridge, microwave and an adorable patio area nestled among trees looking out the the courtyard. 2. The hotel itself and its property is very pretty. The ambiance is great with live music and plenty of food and drink options on site. The outdoor pool was closed for repair during my stay and so was the Sandbar but they both look like they'd be great spots to relax. 3. Location to the greenbelt and downtown is perfect. And here's the negatives: 1. The bed sheets had hair on them and other bits that looked like perhaps they weren't well cleaned and the carpet didn't appear to be vacuumed. 2. The location of my room wasn't ideal- I was given a room that was right beside the public bathrooms just outside of the event center. (I think it was 104) There were events the whole time I was there. It was SO LOUD. I heard people in the hallway speaking loudly just outside my door during the majority of my stay, and because my room was right near a main junction there were drunk people shouting as they made their way from the on-site bar back to their rooms till the very early hours of the morning. And at exactly 7am both mornings the housekeeping cleaned those public bathrooms in the loudest manner possible. I thought they must have been throwing trash bins against the wall. I'm not exaggerating. All that to say, I didn't sleep well. 3. The indoor pool had so much chlorine that the air made my eyes sting. 4. The housekeeper stole makeup and nail polish from me. These were not misplaced items. They were items I had just used before leaving for lunch and when I returned to my room having been visited by housekeeping the items were not where I left them. They were not in any of my belongings. I have spoken to the night manager and reported this to him. I felt so violated because the housekeeper would have had to shuffle through my belongings to find these items. He said he would look into it. If I had stolen from the hotel room I would have certainly been charged for the stolen items. I feel it would have been fair to offer some sort of restitution for the losses and disappointment that their housekeepers were responsible for. All in all, because of the positives I would possibly consider staying here again, but I would request a room far away from the event center, not near public bathrooms or ice machines. I would bring ear plugs and I would also lock up all of my belongings before leaving my room and won't bring anything of great value since the housekeepers have proven to be untrustworthy.

Yelp
I was a very lucky winner and won a free night stay here through a contest that Garden City, Boise had on their social media pages this summer. I choose to use my free night on the eve if my birthday (September 11-12). The hotel has updated and beautiful rooms near the river. The lobby is gorgeous and they host artists on both the first and second floors around the atrium / lobby- which was a wonderful treat to see. The breakfast in the restaurant was included with the stay and was exceptional. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had - probably in my top 5. Everything was included and staff were very friendly. The hotel is walking distance to 3 wineries and the path near the river. They have live music outside during the summer. We had dinner outside after we checked in. Dinner was good, but breakfast was definitely more memorable. They just added an indoor pool experience in September/October 2022- that opened two weeks after we stayed. Looks amazing, but we missed that. The only downside is that this hotel is very large. It's extremely big and quite expansive. Be prepared to be flexible with walking and moving your car. The music was quite loud too at the Sandbar - we sat by the pool so it was easier to enjoy the summer night and take in everything while also enjoying conversation. The music within the actual restaurant was too loud though for my head. Overall, I definitely loved my stay and plan to definitely visit again. Thank you. I'm glad that they are a Best Western hotel too since I am part of that rewards program.

Yelp
Lovely hotel. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. There was a young woman with blonde/light blue hair by the pool and she was amazing! Would stay here again. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, clean sheets! Comfy beds and big TVs. Not one thing to complain about!

Yelp
This is our balcony and river view! Asked for a second floor balcony and told no, we are booked! The room smelled of dirty feet! Tried out the pool and left due to unsafe guests! Loud food truck and muddy mess right outside our room!

Martha B.

Yelp
Did a staycation with my son at this hotel, what a wonderful surprise! Check in was thorough and two freshly baked cookies! The hotel is quite large and has many amenities. An outside salt water pool and hot tub, inside pool that is heated in the winter time. There was an outside bar and grill, The Sandbar with live music and foods available. Friendly staff and prompt service. The beds were very comfortable, heating system was quiet and the room was quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any one needing a hotel in Boise!

Yelp
After 30 years of staying happily at the Riveside, here is what happened this time. We were pleasantly greeted with the news of a complimentary upgrade to a Honeymoon suite which I at 80 years old was amused to accept gratefully. While the enormous 4 person Jacuzzi in the bedroom area seemed a bit much for my wife and I, we were happy to tell our friends the story. But we had not realized that THERE WAS NO WATER in the bathroom shower. It had been partially rennovated but not completed to working order. And then we discovered that the immense bedroom (probably 20 ft by 30 ft) was too big for the little heater (designed for a standard size room) to warm. So we shivered. No problem we thought. We would climb under the extra blanket. There was no extra blanket. There was no blanket at all. Only a thin cotton thing that my wife called a comforter but that was no comfort or warmth at all. The next morning Fidel at the front desk was more than kind and helpful and found us another room. We went to a lovely ordinary room and were pleased UNTIL we found the sink would not drain AT ALL and it still did not drain properly after the repairman had claimed to fix it (i.e., it took 10 minutes to empty 80%). I have dealt with enough blocked sinks in my years as a homeowner to understand what that meant. The repairman had not cleared the drain. So a fine set of memories followed by POORLY MAINTAINED PROPERTY. so sad STAY AWAY

Yelp
FIRST IMPRESSIONS! There seemed to be first impressions everywhere I turned, from great to good to bad. First when we arrived I wasn't sure if we were at the correct location since there was no Best Western signage. When we finally found the lobby entrance I then saw a small sign on the wall that said it was a Best Western establishment. When I walked into the lobby I got very excited. It's beautiful and the frustration of trying to find the entrance washed away. The lobby staff were very friendly and helpful, they even gave me a nice warm cookie. We found the entrance, which was number 5, there are many entrance numbers since the hotel is so large. When we saw our entrance we got excited again. It was a full glass updated and modern looking entrance I thought if the rooms are as nice as the lobby and entrance we were doing good. Then came the beginning of the bad impressions. I ran in to get the luggage cart and I couldn't believe it. It was FILTHY. I don't know that it's ever been cleaned. We were scared to put our belongings on it and then have to push it with our hands. As soon as we got our luggage off and returned the cart we had to run and wash our hands and we are far from being germaphobes. As we rolled our luggage to the room I saw many easily fixable things that could be done to give a better impression of this establishment. Clean and paint! The walls had many scuff marks and the elevator doors had hand prints everywhere. I also noticed the big brown wooden doors, a modern color paint job would refab and freshen the look immediately. Now, when you get to a hotel room what is one of the first things you do? Look out the window! Which brings us to my top reason for writing this review and the worst impression of our stay. You would have thought by looking at the window seals that you were in a haunted house or something. The windows were dirty and the window seals had obviously not been cleaned for months, probably years! There was dirt, dust, dead bugs and spider webs everywhere! GROSS! Room 475! Somebody could probably go up there right now and it's probably the same, since it obviously never gets cleaned. Now for the rest of our impressions and why we had such an enjoyable time. TV was huge and picture quality and channel selection was great Size of the room and the updates that have been done Outdoor courtyard and pool area was beautiful Staff was amazing Live Music! Best Breakfast we've ever had at a Best Western Checkout was easy and fast

Yelp
Of the 100+ hotels I have stayed at in my life, this one had by far the best breakfast buffet. The sweetened bacon is amazing. When booking, just ensure that breakfast is included with your original purchase. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. The outdoor and indoor pool are both nice. I selected the river view with balcony. It is worth it. Overall, it is a great place to stay.

Yelp
This place was spectacular! It's great for families or couples. They have amazing cookies once You check in. Robes were also placed in our room which was perfect To their evening pool outside!!! Mind you we went in December and the pool was HEATED!!! The bartender at the poolside was absolutely spectacular and the staff was so accommodating including having the bartender open a bottle of wine for Our room! The indoor was also AMAZING AND UPDATED workout room. You won't be disappointed by this place! Did I mention the breakfast? ??? So good and great for people with allergies! (I'm gluten intolerant).

Yelp
I liked them a lot and it is based almost on a decade of using them once a year minus 2 covid ones where we did not really travel much. Not like we do much travelling, but, you may remember like essential workers and businesses here were treated during pandemic some workers just got a free T-shirt or were called heroes for showing up for work since money still doesn't grow on trees, some had a bit of a hazard pay but mostly everything got switched to Zoom meetings about Zoom meetings. So it is more or less an established business relation we are talking about here. Interior is a bit outdated, but has this impression that it is Ok it is traditional and steady. I liked the sauna and indoor pool with hot tub that was very clean and had a shower, water could had been warmer in the pool. What could be funnier than playing chess or checkers with giant figures outdoors? Sometimes a room will smell like cigarette smoke, but there is usually not an issue to switch the room. TV always has more channels than I need and there is a nice area right by the river side for a nice walk. Most places to see and visit are located within a short 10-15 minute drive. We always stay here somewhere in October and it is couple degrees warmer than in our small town so it feels like the windy and dusty 3 hour ride is well justified :). I wish I could write more about their food and bar, but in our area dining and shopping opportunities are very modest to say the least so I'd have a list of places to see and visit in a very short period of time so kinda used of getting food elsewhere. Overall I am grateful Riverside Hotel is always there and parking is easy. Wish Joe's Crab shack was still nearby, but I do understand why it is not.

Yelp
Great stay! Hotel is fairly large with great restaurants. Super dog friendly. They let our dog in the inside hotel lobby bar for happy hour and food, and also for breakfast. They have a bar and grill the Sandbar by the river and pool that allows the dog. Great food. Live music in the hotel lobby and outside. Nice pool and pool bar. Highly recommend! Rooms were clean.

Yelp
I was so excited to book a staycation for my daughter, she was so excited and the heated pool was amazing! Rooms a bit old but the bed was nice. Unfortunately for me (not my kiddo), the food was enough to completely ruin it. My daughter loves steak so I ordered her a fillet and myself a ribeye at $30 each. Hers was ordered medium rare and mine medium. Hers came out less than rare....I mean cold and purple rare, basically mooing. Mine came out well done and was a super thin sizzler style steak. She ate the rest of her meal and I ate my entire meal before they even brought her a new one....and then it was well done! The next morning we ordered room service and her $6 pancakes were 3 of the small frozen type. You can only imagine how bad my eggs Benedict were..... At the end of the day if you completely avoid the food service it would have been 4 stars.

Yelp
We booked this family vacation a year ago, we originally booked the 2 bedroom king bed suite with a pull out bed because we are a big family. We get to the hotel to be told those rooms aren't available, I feel we should have been told before just showing up so they put us in a suite that had one king bed and a conjoined room. We have small children and were worried they would open the door and walk out or answer a knock that's why we wanted one room with an adult in that room. Their reasoning on why it would be okay is because we get an extra bed but that's not what we wanted. Just a heads up would have been better then this is what we did and you have to accept it here have a gift card. Then we get upstairs to our room and the toilet in the conjoined room wobbles and our suite the AC didn't work, it was pretty disappointing. We had to wait in the lobby for engineering to see if they could fix it we ended up in the lobby from about 4:15 pm to about 7:30 for a solution. It was embarrassing because different people were noticing and asking questions. Someone even asked for our name and number because the knew the owners and agreed this was ridiculous. They were able to find conjoining 2 queen bed rooms which was frustrating because we are pretty hefty and can't sleep comfortably in a queen bed together so we had to sleep apart, but they made it okay cause they gave us another gift card. We made it to the room and that's where we noticed the toilet paper holder looked like it was falling out of the wall but was screwed and just wobbly then when I went to put the bags in the closet I seen the paneling lifted so I looked to see what it was and it was expose pipes and dirt. It was unsettling to say the least. We went to dinner and stopped by the store to get drinks and snacks for the room, it was pretty late at this point and I pulled the sheets down to get ready for bed but seen the spots of blood that was fresh unwashed blood. I went to the front desk and they said housekeeping is gone so we will send security with some sheets. The boy was nice and had to go get pillow cases for me as well and that's when I noticed 2 pillows had blood on them. The following day we checked the status of the original room and it was still being worked on and to check on it later. DeRay had already told us that he would call us with some type of answer but failed to communicate with us so when we got back that evening to check we were told it was ready and we met DeRay at the room to check and it was barely pushing our any cold air so he let us discuss it amongst ourselves and we let him know that wouldn't work because it's hot outside. They moved us to a junior suite with a conjoined door that was a nice room aside from the dirty rag hung on the shower head and the dirty shower. That following morning we got woke up with pounding and slamming due to construction next door. It was definitely a trip nightmare and we learned this isn't the right place for us.

Yelp
The best way to describe this place is "lipstick on a pig." Overpriced, rundown, and dirty. I've stayed at bad hotels before but this is by far the most expensive of the places that fell into the "terrible" category. This place is listed as part of the "Premier" collection by Best Western, which is a joke. Best Western should drop this place if they don't want their reputation to go down with it.

Yelp
I booked a pool/garden view room with a balcony but when we arrived the room was as you can see with a view of a brick wall. There was a balcony but they failed to informed me that the balcony is shared with a unit next door. The unit itsef was dirty with spider webs and sticky floor. We stayed the first night - just drove from Seattle To Boise and we were exhausted and it was late. I booked another hotel right then and we checked out in the morning. The front desk person told us manager was not available but he didn't see any reason why we would not be refunded for the rest of the stay (we booked July 9 through July 15th, 2021). Since then we have never heard back from them and it i already October - I have never received a refund for the remaining 5 nights...

Yelp
The perfect stay. Checked in & was asked if I wanted to reserve a time to use the pool. Social distancing :) during Fri & Sat but other days usually don't need to reserve a time. Incredible breakfast included. The restaurant has great food... many choices. Next time I am going to get tickets to whatever event is at the Sapphire. There was a talented guitarist playing in the lobby. All this resort treatment for the same price as a standard hotel. Incredible. Don't let the older inside interior pre-judge the rooms... updated and gorgeous. Mine had a balcony. King bed was extremely comfortable with the best bedding ever. Enjoy!

Yelp
So I purchased the New Years Eve package which was to include dinner, show room and breakfast for two for $400. Here's what we experienced. First off the hotel was freezing cold. When I say cold, it was close to 55degrees in all open common areas, halls and music Venus. Even the bathrooms were freezing cold. Unless we were in our room and turned the heat up to 75 it was cold. The dinner at the show was horrible. They served a first course which was a soup. We were served approximately 4-5 spoonfuls of soup each. It got worse. The main course was flank steak with some mashed potatoes and some fried potatoes. The food was cold. Like the rest of the hotel. We received four tiny slices of flank steak and about a handful of potatoes. The flavor of the meat was nonexistent. The potatoes tasted like they were starting to rot. The deserts were tiny but the flavor was ok. Then comes the show. They advertised an 80s and 90s tribute band. They were absolutely horrendous. Not only was there dead air averaging a couple of minutes between every song but we only heard two songs from the 70s, one song from the 90s and the rest were a sad almost comedic attempt at 2000s dance music like Bruno Mars. The band was so far out of their wheelhouse that it was hard to watch. I would best describe their performance as above average Wednesday night Karaoke in any dive bar after the crazy cat lady starts to feel the booze kick in. The age of the band members had no business playing the genre they did. Again, hard to watch. The communication during the reservation process was horrible. They required booking by phone and the service was bad. Not one person I talked to was able to articulate the package. There was no email communication, even though the asked for an email address. We kind of just showed up hoping we actually had a reservation. Overall I'm disgusted to have paid so much for such a horrible experience. I'm not the only one who felt that way. We watched couple after couple getting up and leaving the show within the first 4-5 songs. Two tiny areas were provided for dancing and the rest of the venue was tables and chairs so nowhere to dance. We stuck it out a little longer hoping for change but when it kept getting worse we got up and left to return to our room before 11pm. We made the best of just being together and brought in the new year in a very average hotel room that we paid a luxury price for. This is the worst display of hospitality I've seen. Staff was rude, we could hear kitchen staff yelling profanity back and forth to each other. Two female employees were heard saying "fuck this place I'm done" from the serving area. Nothing says enjoy your new years like that right?? If I could give a half star for the roof being leak free as we slept I would do that. However this platform allows them the participation trophy of one star. I'll never return and let everyone i know that their money is way better spent at a motel 6 with a store bought bottle of whisky, pack of ding dongs and a playlist from your smartphone. I mean it would at least be a comfortable temperature.

Yelp
We stayed here two nights, the second morning we requested clean sheets and maid service, in taking off our bed sheets we noticed 3 large old blood stains .. disgusting after sleeping on them all night. We reported and the front desk just said "ok" nothing more .. we had no choice and had to stay for another night so we requested maid service again ..came back from lunch to find "sheets changed but the two sink areas were filthy they didn't even wipe them down ... nothing.. no fresh cups and I had to ask for soap... SAVE YOUR MONEY this is ridiculous HORRIBLE $300 bucks a night ...really

Yelp
The Riverside has reached out. Removing review for now. Depending on how the conversation goes with Managment I'll determine if I will post my initial feelings on the hotel or if an updated review is in order. Sometimes the best way to determine a business is when something doesn't go right or off from normal and change is made. Thx Wendy

Yelp
Surprisingly great! The Sandbar is always hopping with live music and a newly improved large seating space. The wait-time used to be significant but now you can usually get a table right away. The menu is decent if a bit overly concise but the ice cream cookie sandwich is BOMB good. The pool area for the hotel is great including an oversize chess set with pieces at least 3 feet high and it looks like they are renovating the entrance area. This hotel which hugs the Boise River along the greenbelt is close enough to downtown to be there in moments but far enough away to be on the quiet side. They have a great intimate performance space with the Sapphire Room where they have many different musicians and acts coming through. Oh, and did I mention they have a pretty good brunch buffet? No you don't have to be a guest to be able to come enjoy. This hotel offers many amenities for non-guests as well as guests and continues to grow and innovate which is impressive. This would be high on my list of places for locals to go for a "staycation".

Yelp
Would highly recommend this location. The outdoor heated pool was FANTASTIC. One of the main reasons we selected this location. Temperatures were in the 20's & snowing, pool was fairly full. A great experience. The staff was great, very helpful & made our stay enjoyable. Will return & highly recommend to friends.

Yelp
We had never stayed In Boise, Idaho before. We chose to stay at The Riverside Hotel because of its downtown location and definitely because of the River itself. We had a 2nd story riverside room with balcony and enjoyed sitting out there watching the Paddle boarders, walkers, bikers, skaters etc. The Hotel staff and service was impeccable & courteous. They provide a great full breakfast service for those staying there. The swimming pool area was enjoyed by our grandson Bronson many times and he always made a friend to play with. There are multiple bars and food grills located around the Hotel. We used Uber to get to downtown Boise to the area that is closed to motorized traffic and you can walk to many restaurants and boutiques. We all had a fabulous family vacation and enjoyed Boise and the Riverside Hotel.
