What a terrific find on the south side of Springfield! We really enjoyed our lunch. The burger and the wonton shrimp were great. Also, no complaints about the fries and onion rings. Both were also delicious. Loved the vibe here too!

Google
Sports bar environment, but family oriented. The menu has a flavor for all pallets, the customer service is very good, and that says a lot about the Manager, great wine selection and quality menu. Prices are desirable for all ranges. Go, find your own favorite and enjoy! 😉

We decided to try The Rock for our 15th Anniversary. What a great decision. The atmosphere was great and seating for small or large groups. Indoor and outdoor seating, it's December, so we sat inside. Our server, Joslyn, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. We were very pleased with the service. We got so full we decided to skip dessert. I want to try their Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and their Brussel sprout and bacon appetizer. I know that we will definitely be returning again. Made for a great anniversary dinner.

We tried this tonight on a whim. The service was fantastic, the facilities were spotless, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was mostly great. The kids' portions were absolutely massive and well worth the $5.49! The Tuna was fantastic and cooked as ordered. The burger was fine, not fantastic but adequate for the price. The only(and I do mean only) thing that was off was the Cesar salad, the lettuce was very wilted and inedible, it seemed that maybe they were pre prepped dressed which causes the lettuce to break down and now remain crisp. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.

Well....I have never been so disappointed in a much anticipated dining experience. I went to The Rock with a friend in June for my birthday. That day I had one of the best steaks ever. Today I was served the worst. I ordered the same thing - a NY strip, medium. TWICE they brought me a NY strip cooked well. Even the server was appalled. It wasn't just that it was overcooked both times, both were gristly, fatty, and just unappetizing.

Google
Our server was very nice. We waited about an hour to seat six people which was frustrating since we saw 4 groups of six leave and they didn't seat us or another group of three, the only ones waiting. The burger was ok but not much flavor. Grilled salmon was good. Salad was good. Ahi tuna was good but the broccoli 🥦 side was raw as the side. We asked for them to steam it twice and the new side of broccoli was still raw and not edible. Chicken tenders were ok. We won't return. It could be a good place but they need to fix a few things for sure.

EDIT: Since Google will make me wait another year before I can review The Rock again, I decided to edit this one. Valentines Day 2025 will be one Mrs. HB and I remember for a long time. We attempted to go to Red Lobster. I made an online reservation and everything, knowing the UTTER CHAOS that a Valentines Day on a Friday brings. RL's reservation system failed miserably, so we left and went to The Rock instead. We waited about 5 minutes and was seated. A great meal at a very fair price equals no more attempts at eating at Red Lobster. And a big Thank You to Brandon the GM. He was kind enough to give me a few minutes so I could relate my tale of woe. Thank you again. Is it a "trendy" sports bar? Is it a "trendy" casual place with 11 TVs with mostly sports on? Who knows? Either way, Mrs. HB and I really enjoyed our dinner at The Rock. She had the Spin Chicken pizza, and I had the Sirloin Medallions with Loaded Mashed Potatoes. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY! And while I agree with some of the other reviews here that the seasoning could have been a bit heavier, it was a great steak. I'm very happy Mrs. HB and I found The Rock. We will be back.

Great local restaurant located in the Galloway area. Fun atmosphere and good food!

Yelp
Always a great ambiance and rock solid atmosphere! Food Rocks and Rolls as well. I love the pot stickers appetizer! My friend had a " bowl of great protein and yummiest!

Yelp
I was in town for the holiday and visited with my parents at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night. There was only a 30 minute wait. We claimed the last three spots at the bar while we waited and ordered cocktails and an appetizer. The tuna poke was fresh and the sauce was light, spicy, and refreshing. I ordered an espresso martini for the first time and it was delicious. They serve 4 x 4 Brewing Company beer, which is a local brewery that I visited during the holiday as well! After we were seated we were greeted by our incredible server who treated us very well during the entire meal and was very attentive. I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye and my choice of two sides were the grilled zucchini and onion rings. The grilled zucchini was very good but were pretty greasy and the onion rings were just OK - it doesn't seem like they make them fresh so maybe frozen? My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was really good. It would have benefited from charring on a grill and appeared to be cooked on a flat top. Having said that, I would order it again. My dad ordered the trio of sliders with a side salad and he really enjoyed his meal. The honey mustard dressing had a bit of a kick and it was a nice surprise for him since he likes spice. Same with my mom, she really enjoyed her dinner of jumbo shrimp. The interior has high ceilings and a warm and cozy atmosphere, helped along by the electric fire on the wall near us. We're looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items on our next visit!

Yelp
I'll keep it simple: exceptional. Working in reverse, the ambiance is perfect for this quirky village inside Springfield city limits. It pays homage to its location and the history present there. It's upscale enough to be dressy, but casual enough to go in shorts and sandals. The service was excellent. Our server knew the menu inside and out, so she was able to proffer opinions on choices as well as detail the ingredients of each menu item. Kassidy was great! We also noticed that the manager stepped in to serve food so that it was delivered hot to the table. We appreciate eating at well-managed restaurants, and this is one most certainly is. The food was exceptional. The Peri Peri chicken was to die for. The steamed broccoli was tasty with its lemon-pepper seasoning, and the fries were perfect. Everything was served hot. This was a place we had been meaning to try, and we are so pleased that we did.

Yelp
My friends and I hit up this spot after yoga. It was a cool vibe. We all ordered drinks and the drinks and everyone raved about what they ordered and some even ordered more. My marg was large so I only needed one. I opted out of ordering food as the only gluten free options weren't speaking to me. I tasted my friend's steak because the presentation was just so beautiful but It was ok. I would come here again because the staff was pretty pleasant and the vibe was cool.

Patricia M.

Yelp
Much better this time. Good is amazing and unique for this area. Lovely ambiance. Light and open. Last time we were charged double for requesting makers mark for our old fashioned cocktail. Literally cost 24.00 instead of 12.00. We were in shock. Asked what was up and they gave us the owners card to complain. Whatever. This is not my day job. Anyway. Great food but the cocktail thing is all messed up.

Matthew H.

Yelp
Went to lunch with my wife as she had heard this was a fun place with good food. Not sure either of us agreed by the time we finished lunch. We went at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday to avoid the larger lunch crowd. She ordered the Club sandwich and I ordered Pepperoni pizza. The pizza was ok nothing too special about it. The Club had large thick slices of ham and bacon which actually makes the sandwich difficult to eat. About ten minutes before we finished eating I noticed two spots on the inside of my water glass. Stick my finger in and it is some left over residue or food. So I let this go as we are at the end of our meal. Server brings check over and I give her my debit card. Server takes it away and returns a few minutes later and hands my check and card to table next to us. They notice is not their card and hand it back to the server. Server bring it to me and then realizes she rang their check on my card. Another five minutes later for server to fix this issue and bring me the correct check. Disappointing visit. We may give a second chance but not sure at this point.

Lynn L.

Yelp
The service was ok and atmosphere was good. We sit outside. The trees were beautiful. The view was nice, but it was hot that day. The umbrellas helped some. The fish tacos were the worst I've ever had. My friends had pizza and it was good

Michelle J.

Yelp
I hate their written menu. Some of the food items have weird names. Nothing is pictured at all. If like me it is your first time dining here and you want a visual of what is not pizza or nachos then be prepared to pull out your phone to look up food pictures even if you didn't want to. I tried Peppedews from the Appetizer/ Shareables section of the menu. I did not enjoy the food or service. The only thing I like about this restaurant is the location, the mural and the decor. As far as that menu and that pathetic service received I am fine with the idea of never going back or recommending to anyone.

john mark w.

Yelp
Maybe a controversial review, I haven't ever actually been inside this place however it's right along the Galloway trail and I cruise through there all the time on my bike. I had to give a special shout out to the very well maintained outdoor sections, I often like to ride the many stair sets and just chill for a snack up on the wooden balcony next door. I wanted to give a special thanks to the owners and staff for seemingly not having any issues with this as it's extremely fun. I do my best to look out for people walking and enjoying the restaurant, thanks again for adding so much value to the local trail!

Austin S.

Yelp
This place was awesome. The food was okay and my chicken strips were chewy. My family's food was good and we all had a good time with the lively atmosphere, and the nice music. The service was very nice and our waitress was really kind.

Austin N.

Yelp
The Kansas City strip was pretty good, The house fries were also really good. One thing to know would be that they don't really have tables for two.

Saundra M.

Yelp
Great place to come with family and friends. Ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip with chips and Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower both were very good. Ordered wings, not so good. They weren't cooked right and had a chewy taste. Seasoning was not good. Had the Fit Bowl with tofu in teriyaki sauce. Delicious!!! Fish and Chips just blah. Martinis perfect!! Lava cake with ice cream...yummy!! Our waitress was on task!! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant's decor was fun. Lots of room and located in a beautiful area. Has a fireplace. They don't take reservations....So first come, first serve. We will be back.

Mark R.

Yelp
The atmosphere was cool, but wow! The food was very disappointing. I used to play and had family that have roots in this neighborhood, so I'm not giving up on this spot.

Anjanette L.

Yelp
I just love going to the Rock! Great atmosphere! Have David the waiter take care of you, he is always there and gives great service!!!

Scott G.

Yelp
Very good food. Service was great. We had several things and most were good. Steak medallions were pretty fatty. Loved the quarry mountain nachos and the burger.

Mendy M.

Yelp
Atmosphere and server were great. Food was just okay. If you're just looking for a "drink with friends on the deck" kind of place, this one's for you.

Shane A.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to stop by, and give it a go. I really wasn't expecting too much of a difference than Bairs, but to my surprise it was!! I guess there are a couple similar items on the the menu as Bairs; such as some wing sauces and a few burgers, but for the most part it's completely different; even the mac and cheese!! It's a fairly nice restaurant; like if a nice sports bar met an upscale franchise restaurant "feel." Got the nachos which had artichoke dip on it as well, and the kid got Mac and cheese. The nachos weren't bad, but not the best thing I ever had, and I expected them to be pretty great for $16. My child's M&C was pretty good though, and definitely worth the $6 for her kid portion "that was huge." All in all I say it's an okay place with decent food, but it's definitely not soft on the pocketbook.

Joan R.

Yelp
We had a larger group. The service was fantastic. Most in the group enjoyed their food. Spinach dip is awesome. I do not recommend the fish and chips. The fries were delicious. The fish was inedible. Greasy and doughy crust on a very thin piece of fish. Maybe I'll try something different next time

Anne T.

Yelp
The food really LOOKS good, it's just...not. The ahi on my salad was slightly mushy and a little too fishy tasting. Wontons were really greasy. My husband got the club and found the bacon really fatty and low quality. Brother said the fish and chips was just so so. Our server was inattentive. That being said, our daughter loved the chicken Caesar salad. Cool spot; we'll be back for drink!

Mindy P.

Yelp
Inspired by the photos I drove here only to find the Restaurant closed. Please update your hours!

Candace B.

Yelp
Really amazing! So many vegetarian/vegan options. The seasoned and grilled tofu was amazing, fit bowl, kids max and cheese, sliders. If we lived near we would absolutely be back often. Everything was cooked to perfection. We'll done!

Sarah F.

Yelp
We go to Table Rock lake multiple times a year. We always time our trip there so we ca stop here for lunch on the way. Great food and great drinks!!

Tomas S.

Yelp
4.7 STARS! We walked in 30min before closing because we got carried away at the Pub next door. I made sure to tip $60 because I hate when we have to walk in late. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip and onion rings. No complaints from our table here. The onion rings where delicious, perfectly fried and had great batter flavor. The boom boom sauce hit the spot and the onions were tender. The dip was also great, perfect flavor and nice and thick chips sided with them that didn't break on impact lol. We all four order the same grilled chicken Tai bowls with different bases. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the bowls all popped with flavors. The size of the bowl is huge and will certainly fill you up and still have leftovers to take home. Lots of beer and mixed drink options! Enjoy!

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Did a build your own burger! Phenomenal. Service was great and super friendly. Tried a variety of items on the menu starting with onion rings , wonton shrimp and the nachos everything was delicious. Everyone got a burger of some sort and I had the Turkey Brie sandwich which was amazing! Would definitely come back.

Gabi W.

Yelp
I got a delicious espresso martini to start. We got the buffalo cauliflower wings & the Maple dry rub wings for appetizers. Best cauliflower wings I've had! I wouldn't describe the cauliflower wings as buffalo flavored, more of a teriyaki taste, but they were still incredible! The dry rub wings were some of the best I've had in Springfield. For entrees I got the ahi tuna with broccoli and sweet potatos. The ahi was over cooked & dry, kale slaw did not have much taste. I sent my food back for a Caesar salad, which was good! My friend got the salmon with loaded mashed potato's and onion rings. The sides were great, salmon was very good as well. We also got the blue crab Mac to share, didn't have much flavor & not worth the price in my opinion. Was better leftover with more seasoning added. Portion sizes were very filling! Will visit again to try other items off menu, they have a lot of vegetarian friendly options!

Nahyun K.

Yelp
We wanted to try this place out after our friends tried it out and said how amazing their food was. Springfield is about an hour and a half drive from us so when we took a trip there, we knew we HAD to stop by this restaurant. It definitely did not disappoint! Their beer selection isn't the greatest but they have some amazing local beers. And honestly quality over quantity ANY DAY! Their food was also great. The only downfall is that they skimped out on our onion rings with the burger. I just feel like you don't ever skimp out on onion rings or fries especially on a big plate. However, my ahi tuna dish was bomb. Just try it out. You won't regret!

Laura H.

Yelp
The service was very good, the atmosphere was lovely. Had a rustic vibe. The food was fantastic. I'm visiting from Southern California, and I ordered a Fit Bowl with ahi tuna. I was actually shocked at how good the tuna was. 2000 miles from the ocean and the tuna was some of the best I've ever had. One of my companions had the Peri Peri chicken and raved about it. The other dish at our table was a salad also with tuna, also very good.

Kristin P.

Yelp
The food was excellent, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the service was fantastic. This is the best restaurant we have ever been to as a team. 30 people seated together within 5 minutes of our reservation. The waitress was fabulous and so organized. Food all came out at about the same time and all of our orders were correct. The bill process was just as efficient! Thank you Rock Food & Friends for a wonderful evening with our large group!

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
Great casual and local restaurant. We came for dinner at 6 pm on a Sunday night and had no problem getting in right away for a table outside. We really enjoy the atmosphere eating outside on the patio. The menu has such a large selection it's hard to choose your meal! Tonight we ordered the: - Buffalo cauliflower bites for an appetizer - great and unique flavor. Would be great as a meal! - Sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pizza on cauliflower crust - Decent size, but a little pricey for the size. - Fit bowl with chicken, very generous portion and delicious, fresh flavor With two drinks, our meal was $50 + tip, but worth it for a flavorful and unique experience. We will definitely be back soon as this is such a great location in south Springfield!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
The last 4 times we have went have been a disaster. Today we went in 35 minutes before close (on a Sunday afternoon) and were told the kitchen had already closed down. Super disappointed that this place has went down hill.

Anne R.

Yelp
Really nice environment and great food and drink. It's so nice to find a good place to eat again. They have a great selection of draft bears, red and white wine and several signature cocktail options. The appetizers are great and can be made into a main plate. I got the wonton shrimp and it was so delicious reminded me of hot and sour soup. My mom is making her way through the sandwich selections and are loving them! The sweet potato fries are the best with their smoky bbq sauce. Kassidy is the best waitress who will elevate your dinning experience, ask for Kassidy with a K.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Located in a beautiful and quiet area of Springfield. The restaurant was quiet and staff were wonderful. We can't wait to go back.

Tyler K.

Yelp
LOVE this place! Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks. I recommend the fit bowls, all of the proteins are amazing. The thai chili sauce is also very good!

Kristi B.

Yelp
Two stars because the food was actually really great! The thirty minute wait time, turned into a 60 minute wait time. When we got seated the hostess took our order for drinks and appetizers 15 minutes later. We went ahead and just ordered our burgers and a chicken dish, one soup, and a couple side salads. 15 minutes after that we finally got our drinks! A reasonable amount of time later we got our lobster bisque, which was exceptional! But the bowl was 1/4 full. The waitress apologized and said when the cooks made more, she would give me the remaining 3/4 bowl. I was shocked!!! A bit later our food arrived and No UTENSILS! Waited a good 10 minutes to see ANY server before just walking up and asking for some myself! After we asked for to go boxes and paid the bill, we get the remaining 3/4 soup. Like this. Very disappointed. Won't be back.

Christene J.

Yelp
Yelp strikes again! This place was excellent! Noon on a Thursday and they were packed, so we sat outside. Really pretty atmosphere on the deck. Service was excellent! Our server, Stephanie, was attentive and polite and gave excellent recommendations. We had the Garlic Romano and the Sriracha wings. They were tasty, could use a little more rub, but very tender and cooked just right. And for a keto-er...this place is pizza heaven! They have several pizza made on cauliflower crust! Absolutely delicious! We had the mushroom, pepperoni and sausage pizza and the chicken, mushroom and spinach one. I couldn't decide which was better. You'd never know you were eating a cauliflower crust. I was sure they added something that was not keto friendly but our server assured us it was just cauliflower and eggs. Dang! Amazing! We'll make sure to stop back in on our way home!

britney w.

Yelp
I love this place! Great food and great service! I have been here a handful of times and tried serval items on the menu but I think my favorites have to be the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer and the fit bowl with chicken, brown rice, and sesame teriyaki. The Rock is also located in a very cute area. There is walking trails and nice park with a pond and a couple breweries and coffee shops to visit before or after dinner.

Sofie K.

Yelp
This restaurant is a welcome addition to the Galloway area and to the community at large. We came on a Sunday around 7 pm and had no trouble getting a seat for two. Our waitress and hostess were nice and helpful as we read the menu. I thought the restaurant was a bit loud so if you are looking to have a quiet conversation with a friend or two, I might recommend sitting outside. I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and my husband got the ahi tuna tacos. We shared the food so we could try both. If you are skeptical about cauliflower crust, you should try their pizza offerings. The crust is a nice thin and crunchy crust that can hold toppings pretty well. I honestly probably would not have known it was cauliflower crust if I had just ordered it and not been reading the menu. The ahi tuna tacos were delicious. My only complaint is that the tacos have a crunchy hard shell that falls apart when you are trying to eat it. I did not like that the tacos felt fragile and I ended up having to use a utensil in order to eat them. Overall, the drink selection is good. We had beers from local breweries to go with our food. I would like to try some of their cocktails in the future. I will definitely be coming back here!

Kelly M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this restaurant. Of course the wait was long being their first weekend...but there are good places to sit outside you can easily pick yourself up a cocktail at the bar for the wait. Once seated, all of our waitstaff were very attentive. I had the Chadwick Line Burger, requesting medium cook. As you can see from the pic, I got my wish... I suggest only a sweet potato fries option and some signature dipping sauces.

Megan A.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL OF THE MANHATTANS!! They are v dangerous. Their wings are amazing, as well as, the crab Mac and cheese. Hands down one of the best macs I've ever had! Arguably the best patio in Springfield. Good food and atmosphere. A definite go-to for us!

Kim S.

Yelp
Today was day 1 and we are looking forward to going back. The patio was full so we sat at the bar. Our bartender, Mark, was attentive and have some good suggestions on the menu. As the rush starting coming in you could see they were a little under prepared and it didn't seem like everyone knew what was going on or what was available. I expect this to get worked out as they get more comfortable. The turkey & Brie sandwich was delicious, just a recommendation to slice the apple a little thinner. The Slab was ordered medium but came out well. Fries & onion rings were great and the beer & drinks were done well & cold. Can't wait to try other food!

Scott H.

Yelp
meh, it started off great, food is fine. They do have a great "fit bowl"

Lincoln A.

Yelp
The Rock is an excellent restaurant with quality food and an awesome atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor dining space which allows for a variety in seating and speeds up wait time. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have about the menu. Take a trip over to QuarryTown and give The Rock a try!

Rich H.

Yelp
The Rock is a fun new restaurant in Galloway. The atmosphere is very outdoorsy and reminds me of Colorado. I would have given it five stars but there was a snafu in the kitchen that caused our order to be significantly delayed. Our waitress was very nice and super apologetic. Once our food arrived, it was quite outstanding. I would definitely come back again and give it a second chance because it's most likely the growing pains of a new restaurant.

Travis W.

Yelp
Cool place, good food and good service. The steak frites is entrée was great and a wide assortment of beer on tap.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
This place was a hit with my friend and I! The outdoor seating is just beautiful. Their cocktail menu is amazing. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower to start and split the blue crab Mac and cheese and the half a hill burger. Both were really good! The cauliflower was more of a bbq flavor in my opinion. The Mac and cheese was a little fishy. We will be back to try the fit bowls

Adrian S.

Yelp
Went here for a double date over the weekend. Absolutely beautiful. The outdoor patio was pretty and a great place for conversation and relaxation. The inside was fairly rustic and clean. The food was flawless! Only reason for the 4 star review opposed to 5, is that our server was slow and didn't seem to happy with serving me and my friends. Overall an enjoyable experience and fun night with great food in a good environment.

Sherry L.

Yelp
Ordered fried zucchini with my Turkey and Brie sandwich and the zucchini had a piece of hair mixed in the batter. I told the server and his words were "That's disgusting'. Said he would bring me more. I said no need. By that time appetite gone. He took $1.40 off my meal. Should have been free considering I barely ate anything.

Frankie S.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Too bad the brewery next door F'd the relationship up between the 2 businesses. The food was amazing and the prices are very reasonable. The wings are the ticket. If there is a wait it's worth it, go have a beer next door and relax, but otherwise the beer at the restaurant is 4x4 and better!

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Great Caesar salad and the salad portion was huge! Coke products are here, however, no Diet Coke so that was a bit odd. Service was quick and employees were friendly. Wish they had year round soup bc their tomato soup was fantastic last visit in November. Will be back soon!
