I stayed there from 3/10 till 6/10. Couldn’t have changed better hostel I think! In a great location, close distance to Snowdon, Glyders, Tryfan and Carnadeau mountains!|The hospitality great, Michael was very helpful and kind making you feel welcome ! Great amenities, comfortable beds with curtains for more privacy , nice kitchen, dining area and lounge. Very good drying room which makes it the best place for hikers!

Beautifully laid out and so well thought through down to the small details. ||Bedroom - we had a double with a full size bunk overhead.. Lovely and warm, but could adjust temperature of radiator and open window. Individual shelves next to bed for phone, glasses, book etc and individual bright lights for reading. Having the bunk above the head meant not woken by child turning on their light. Extra blankets available. There was one area of our room that was a little dark, but other than that perfect room||Bathrooms. These were not hostel bathrooms. These were beautiful, posh hotel ensuite style bathrooms, or those that you would see in an interior design magazine. Warm, clean and with heated towel rail. Only visited 3, all with clean showers. Never had to wait for one to be available as there were several spaced out.||Snug room with fire. Gorgeous||Kitchen. So well thought through - large storage box for each room and labelled shelf in one of the fridges. Markers to be able to mark food. Plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery, pans, kettles, microwaves. Couple of electric cookers. 4 large washing up sinks and plenty of washing up liquid / sponges. And heated towel rails so tea towels dried quickly. 2 islands with worktops for preparing food and stools to natter while preparing food, although there is a separate dining room with large, solid tables and benches against wall / chairs. A large map on the wall to plan route. The only niggle for me was that the sides of the kitchen weren't as well lit as the centre, so initially harder to find things, but then my eyesight isn't that great anyway.||Very friendly and helpful owner. Trying to work out when we can go back......

Perfect. I run a little mixed hiking group in Kent and this was our 1st weekend away so I was a little nervous. The perfect place to stay. We loved it so much we have booked again for next March already as nothing would come close to this place. The kitchen is huge and has everything. Not just random bits. Everything.. Think big stews cooking while you are climbing. Very laid back atmosphere. The log burner is so cosy. Little extras like hot water bottles, yoga mats. 15 of us easily fit into the front room and all played games. The beds are cosy and comfy. Really clean. Michael is great, approachable and helped me pick routes as I had soo many saved in kamoot. We are all excited to head back next year.

Excellent venue with great facilities in a perfect location. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. There's a cafe next door which is ideal before a day's walking and a good pub with excellent food within walking distance. A perfect base for exploring the area

A returned stay at The Rocks. Chosen because it’s fantastic proximity to main areas in the national park as well as the place being a fantastic hostel. I used the dorms for the first time and despite a few late arrivals in the night it was a comfy nights sleep before a day running on the hills. Highly recommend The Rocks. The facilities are fantastic, the building feels like a home from home and you cannot argue with its value for money. Thank you guys!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! I loved the cozy vibe, the nice living room and the rooms! The bed was really comfortable, with wooden frames and the curtains around it a great touch for privacy. The bathrooms were clean and actually felt more like a home bathroom than a typical hostel one. At night, I could hear the river flowing, and there’s a beautiful view of the forest right from the property. Michael, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful! The location is also perfect for hiking — you can walk to Siabod right from the hostel or do the trail with riverside and forest scenery. There's also a lovely pub just down the road for dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I’ve never stayed in the hostel before, but if this is what a hostel is, then I’m in! The welcome was friendly, the room was great, the beds were perfect and private with the privacy curtain and all of that. The communal kitchen and eating area was well equipped and clean and definitely definitely fit for purpose. So many fridges! The ambience of the place was friendly, lots of explanatory notices about what you should be doing in order to be appropriate! The vibe of the place was just great!

This is a superb hostel - the best I've stayed at. The hostel has been renovated to a high spec. The toilet and shower rooms are private and there is plenty of them so you are not waiting. The shower was powerful and hot. The shared dorms were spacious and the bunk bed was very comfortable. The individual curtains, light and plug switch are an additional plus. The drying room was an added bonus on returning from a wet day out on the mountain. Kitchen is huge and well equipped. I wish I had discovered this hostel sooner. I will definitely re book!
