I'll be honest, I only came here because I was in town for the glass museum's holiday showcase and the Sparkle event, but as this museum was also free for the day, and as I had heard there was a gingerbread house competition, I figured I would check it out.
I'm not really someone who is overly into art, I appreciate people who have a skill for drawing, painting, sculpting, etc., but I don't always "get" the art in art museums, however despite not having high hopes for this museum I was pleasantly surprised by the interactiveness for children.
If I had kids, I would definitely come back, and I would recommend it to anyone who has kids. From magnetic puzzles on the walls, to these glowing tables with see through pattern pieces to make designs with there were loads of activities for children to actively participate in.
Special for the holiday showcase they also had some scavengar hunts, bingo, and cookie decorating that I could see occupying kids for hours.
However, without having kids and not being overly into the art, we spent some time checking out the gingerbread houses and the art a little, but didn't spend too much time.
