"Mainland Europe’s first (and currently only) outpost of Ian Schrager’s trendy Edition hotel brand is topped by one of the city’s most scenic drinking spots. The indoor/outdoor bar, overlooking the red-tiled roofs of the surrounding El Born neighborhood, offers panoramic views that span from the sea to the mountains and include highlights like La Sagrada Familia and the Barcelona Cathedral. Vistas are best enjoyed on the sprawling wraparound terrace: Grab an east-facing daybed for views of the ocean; tables on the western side are ideal for sunsets. There’s a concise cocktail menu, a solid wine card featuring French and Spanish varietals, and several sakes available by the glass."

Wanted to go to the rooftop for drinks and were told that the waiting time was approximately 30-35 minutes. We waited for more than 1 hour and didn’t get any update until we asked for an update. We were told there was still no table available and decided to leave. Bartender was really nice though and understood the inconvenience, but the receptionist and other staff should learn how to create realistic expectations. Would not recommend.

The service was truly excellent — 10/10, especially thanks to Jasper (I believe that’s his name), who was friendly and attentive throughout. The place itself is cozy and has a nice, intimate vibe. However, the food was a major letdown. As shown in the attached photos, the burrata was served without any accompanying vegetables, making the dish feel incomplete. The pesto pasta was disappointing — the texture was hard, and the flavor had little resemblance to either pesto or a proper pasta dish. The fries were overly greasy, to the point that I couldn’t eat them. I genuinely hope the restaurant considers revisiting their kitchen approach — perhaps even changing the chef — because the potential is there, but the food quality needs serious improvement.

Place is ok, there are much better rooftops. The service was really bad as the waiter we got wasn't paying attention at us at all. Overall an average rooftop

We enjoyed a late sunset lunch on the rooftop. We were greeted with such friendly service by all staff members at all times. Our server Asim was so attentive! Highly recommend this restaurant!

We had an unforgettable experience dining on the rooftop, all thanks to Asim’s incredible hospitality! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The rooftop setting was stunning, with breathtaking views that provided the perfect backdrop for our afternoon. Asim’s attention to detail, warm demeanor, and genuine care made the entire experience exceptional. Whether it was the ambiance, the service, or the overall vibe, everything was simply outstanding. We can’t thank Asim enough and would highly recommend his rooftop dining experience to anyone looking for a memorable evening!

As good as I expected it to be 😍 Lovely selection of bites and I was pleasantly surprised by the cocktails as well, as each we took were great - and I usually prefer to stick to classics, so I’m happy their original cocktails were nice as they did not offer a lot of classics. You come here for the view of course which was amazing and the seating was comfy as well. Have to disagree with the bad service reviews- sure it took a bit longer to have someone come over but it’s expected when it’s busy. And I was not staying at the hotel but was allowed to sit anywhere I wanted, couches or at the table 😁 Recommend this for anyone who’s in town for a relaxed evening!

We had dinner at The Roof in the Edition Hotel and really enjoyed it. The views of Barcelona were stunning, and the atmosphere was relaxed but stylish, with fireplaces behind the table to keep us warm. The Asian street food was flavorful, and the cocktails were top-notch. Dessert and coffee rounded off the meal perfectly. Our waiter, Azim, was very attentive and made us feel welcome. At €110, it wasn’t cheap, but the quality of the food, drinks, and experience made it worth it. A great spot for a special romantic evening in the city!

Google
Hotel is lovely, highly recommend a stay here, the staff at reception and downstairs are fantastic as is the breakfast. Shout out to Mariano who took fantastic care of us in the restaurant and bar downstairs. Upstairs at The Roof, unfortunately for our second stay in a row the service was horrible. After waiting downstairs to go up, we had to find our own table and then flag down a waiter to just get a menu or be acknowledged. We are not time watchers, but we waited over 30 minutes post us ordering for our drinks to come out and we were told there’s only one bartender working on a Saturday night in peak season - clearly a miss here. Sadly we had a similar experience a year ago and people around us also noticed the issue. Location, views and music were good, however improvements can be made in the overall experience. Would love to come back, and rate this 5 stars when you get it right up there.

Yelp
Modern, well designed room. Roof top bar and the Punch room are excellent for drinks and good conversations. The nightly rate compared to other options was very attractive. Located next to Mercat de Santa Catarina, a great place to visit and admire the meats and seafood on display and taste some in-the-market cooking. L4 is a few minutes away so you are near public transportation. Barcelona cathedral is a block away. At night, musicians will be singing, playing to entertain tourists and locals alike. This will likely be my go to Marriott property when visiting Barcelona.

Yelp
The Barcelona edition is a luxury safe haven within the bounds of the city. Service is noticeably attentive and kind from the minute you walk in the door. Even before check in, I was offered water, tea, and/or coffee. The evening turn down service was a nice surprise, complete with a handwritten note and fruit basket. When I asked for more water, plenty of boxed waters were waiting for me around the room. Unfortunately the gym and punch bar were under renovation, so I wasn't able to check it out. The restaurant bar downstairs serves food until 10:30pm; even when I was the only person in the restaurant, I didn't feel rushed. The king size bed was HEAVEN to sleep in, and I woke up feeling refreshed! I was also floored at the quality of the complimentary breakfast--it was fine dining, no continental breakfast here!

Yelp
I would recommend you stay here, dine here, have brunch here, and I would recommend staying more than one night! This was by far the best experience I have had at a hotel EVER!! I don't know if they got trained by Will Guidara or if the management team read his book, but the experience I had at this hotel from the moment I walked in to the moment I checked out and left was by far above and beyond! 10/10 I will be back and I will tell everyone how amazing this was!!

Yelp
The Barcelona EDITION is in the Gothic Quarter in the old section of Barcelona. It is within walking distance of La Rambla, the main street that stretches from the marina to Catalunya Square. We booked a 3 day stay. Vlad, the doorman, greeted our taxi and offered assistance with our luggage - a really nice touch, considering that the taxi was on the opposite side of the street. Laura at the front desk greeted us with a wonderful smile and checked us in quickly and surprised us with a one class upgrade, even though our room would not be ready for a few hours. In fairness, it was 0900 in the morning, and we had just gotten off a cruise so a delay in getting into the room was expected. The room was ready for us at noon, which is as advertised for a Titanium Bonvoy Elite member. The room was small, for a luxury hotel, even in Europe. What made it an upgrade was a bump-out window with a seating area, otherwise it was the standard room. There are some nice finishes in the room such as the leather headboard and deep wood paneling but was offset by a flimsy plastic desk chair and cheap desk and stained throw carpeting. For the price of this hotel, the room was a disappointment. The bed linens were of good cotton quality, but the foam pillows were lumpy. The feather pillows were very nice. The bed felt like a discount hotel mattress. The bathroom had a large shower with rain shower head and additional wand but had no where to put anything. The sink area also lacked storage. The shower toiletries (shampoo, etc.) were from Le Labo and were of exceptionally high quality. The rooftop lounge is very nice with a beautiful view of the city or towards the beach. The drinks are nice, but the atmosphere is a bit pretentious. We arrived at the lobby one day to beautiful Brazilian Jazz. The duo was so good that we wanted to get a drink at the bar and enjoy their music. We wanted to sit on the side of the bar that allowed us to look at the entertainers, but a server was using that area to roll silverware. We asked if we could sit there, and they said NO. We moved to a seat on the other side of the bar that was in the traffic lane, only to observe a couple coming out of the elevator to sit in those exact seats. They were not waiting; they had just arrived. We felt as if we did not belong, so we left, but called Michael Osorio, the Manager on Duty. Mr. Osorio told us they were waiting for that table, which we knew was not true and offered us a table and complementary drinks. We felt so slighted by this whole experience that we turned down the offer but appreciated the gesture. The next day we waited an hour and a half for a bucket of ice after multiple calls and texts using the Marriott chat app. For the price of this hotel and the 5-star rating that they advertise I can unfortunately only give a 3-star rating. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
Stayed at the Barcelona edition for three days. Great location close to food market, plazas and museums. Staff provide good recommendations and great service. Roof top bar and pool provide excellent views especially at sunset. On Wednesday night the first floor bar/restaurant had a jazz combo playing some classics (ie frank Sinatra Tony Bennett). With wine and food pairing as option. Close to museums and historic sites.

Yelp
Had the best stay at the edition. By far one of the top stays on my list. The service was impeccable! The entire staff made our stay the best! I would stay here for the location, food and service! it's close to everything including the beach and the rooftop. The rooms are a bit small, but we had so much luggage from our travels so if we didn't have that it would be a perfect sized room. This hotel felt like a little sanctuary. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The accommodations were neat, clean and comfortable. The hotel location is central to everything- very convenient. The taxi station is on the corner if you are heading somewhere too far to walk. The staff here were absolutely amazing. We felt like family. They made our stay so enjoyable. The rooftop bar is terrific, with great tapas choices, and Nelson, Matteo, Marco took such great care of us. Downstairs, the Bar Veraz was perfect for breakfast or dinner. Again the staff, hostess Nerea, manager David Sancho and the entire staff made our time so much better! The front desk staff - Giorgio, Rodrigo, Martin, were so kind, friendly and helpful in making our stay a truly memorable one. We would definitely stay here next trip!

Yelp
Our hotel stay here was great. I have alot of great things to say about this hotel. First of all I love that they bring water, tea and I believe coffee to the rooms twice daily. They have a cart and inquire if you would like a beverage. This is a great touch because I surely was thirsty at about the time they came by! Second of all the reception desk gave me excellent referrals for coffee which I appreciated. Third, the bar downstairs makes great espresso and lattes. The bar has fresh water available for the public at the counter which is helpful. Fourth the public bathrooms are very clean. Fifth, the second floor bar is fire. Bartender gave me free soda water because my stomach was hurting from all the food I ate earlier. The hotel also offers turn down service before bed.

Yelp
Centrally located in gothic quarter and yet off the main paths, this is a great home base for Barcelona excursions. With a school on one side and mercado on the other, there is a mix of locals and tourists. Room is comfortable, modern and manager sent a nice welcome gift. Roof has a small bar providing city views and a small soaking pool and space to sit out poolside to take in siesta rays of sunshine. Consider skipping hotel breakfast fare and sit down at the several local offerings next door. Friendly staff and concierge. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Everyone that works there is really nice from the moment you check in we were greeted which champagne. Rooms were nice and clean. The bartender downstairs was very friendly and gave recommendations. I wish I remembered his name, I think he was from Venezuela or Colombia. Highly recommend. Safe area

Yelp
The Barcelona Edition is a luxury boutique hotel with the perfect location between El Gothic and El Born. What separates the Edition from so many other great hotels are the people. The concierge team and guest services teams are amazing. The effort and genuine dedication to making your stay the best possible is appreciated. Anna, Alexa, Sebastian, Pau and so many more go out of their way to ensure the most memorable adventure possible. The amenities at the Edition are unique and appreciated, The Roof Top, Cabaret and Punch Bowl are fun ways to relax and unwise after a long day wondering Barcelona. The only negative are the size of the rooms, you done have enough space for your clothes or luggage. I asked weeks in advance for a upgrade because of our Lifetime Titanium Elite status but was not offered one. We will definitely stay again because of the people and location.

Yelp
We stayed 5 nights and had a great stay. Staff were very accommodating the whole time and there are layers of staffing to make sure you do not go unnoticed. Special thanks to Alejandra, as she hooked us up with a room with a view on the 4th floor. All of the accommodations are on point to include the restaurant. We had one late dinner there and it was delicious. The gym was spacious with enough cardio and weights to get a decent workout. All three times I had it to myself. The rooftop bar was the hit. We split our days with site seeing, going out early and returning for a break before we went out again later due to the very high humidity. The bar had couches facing the sea with a breeze that cooled you off and re-energized. The room was decent with a great shower. We heard a little noise in the halls at times but nothing like some of the other reviews. It was peaceful enough for us. The final note is the hook.....location. you are a 10 minute walk from the Picass museum and la boqueria market. 30 minutes from la Sagrada Familia and 20 from the waterfront. Walking is easy from this location. If you need a cab there are several just a minute away as well as a supermarket a d ATM. Great hotel staffed by some of the nicest people in the service industry.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I have to leave this review. We stay at the Miami Edition. Last night my wife and I had a few sunset drinks here. The staff and drinks were great - a little slow but fine. We walked directly across street and had dinner. As we left and walked by the edition we were mugged and items stolen off my body and my finger broken. As I chased, the thief ran right by the edition front door guard who when I yelled stop him, but he did not. I get this is not his job and not their fault. I right this review to tell you this is not a good neighborhood or area and we were robbed. I was unable to run the guy down and when I went back to the Edition to go in to get help, I was almost not let in front door at first. Eventually, I was and a cab was gathered for me - but the front desk was too busy to help me otherwise. Again, not a reflection on the actual hotel. But definitely a reflection on their location, neighborhood and helpfulness to a guest. I'd steer very clear from this area. Very very dangerous.

Yelp
Such a fab hotel! My husband and I just stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small but that is to be expected for a European hotel. The location is perfect- a short walk to the Gothic Quarter, the beach, Arc de Triomf, Plaza Catalunya, etc. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and we enjoyed all of amenities offered. The gym is a great size with a lot of equipment. The Punch Room on the first floor is not to be missed...swanky vibes and awesome cocktails and appetizers. Shoutout to Rita for the incredible service! The star in my opinion is the rooftop bar! Incredible views and vibes. Keep in mind there is only a very small dip pool. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The Barcelona Edition has a great location - close to public transportation and within walking distance of so many things to see (including the hop on/hop off bus stop). The staff is welcoming and helpful and seems to genuinely want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The lobby has a modern, homey feel - like you're visiting a friend. Room 603 was very comfortable with lots of electrical outlets (they will give you an adapter if you need it) and a nice bathroom. There was a window between the shower and sleeping area - which I've seen before but never really understood. Fortunately the shutters closed easily for privacy (shower time = MY time). And I always love the switches next to the bed that run the automatic shades on the window. The window seat was a nice touch too. The free WiFi was excellent and consistent. I didn't watch TV but there was a large, flat screen with cable. The restaurant area (Bar Veraz) on the main level was small but never got crowded at breakfast - they have a typical European menu, heavy on the ham and cured pork. I could easily see why this hotel is listed as a 5 star luxury hotel. With so much to see in Barcelona, I really didn't see much of the Barcelona Edition - they have a roof top bar and restaurant, a cocktail themed restaurant (Punch Room) and a basement Cabaret that I never got to. That just might be reason enough to definitely go back.

Yelp
Haven't stayed at the hotel but we live near it and we had a great experience at The Roof. Service (Carlos and Nelson) was great and the drinks were made very well. We were also surprised by how good the food was. We'll definitley be back.

Yelp
Family vaca to Barcelona. Reserved a king bed deluxe room. Was informed that for "security reasons " they can not permit a third adult (our son) to stay in the same room. Instead they would do us a "favor" by allowing him to stay in another room for 700+ Euros a night! We challenged the notion of "security reasons". The manager on duty confirmed same. On the spot Inused my Bonvoy app and reserved the same type of room at the W Barcelona with one king bed and checked in with no issues. Then the Edition, because they would not permit me to have three in the room, still said they will penalize me by charging me for one night stay because I left to go to the W Barcelona despite both being Marriott properties. One final note. The W is so much more beautiful and inviting. Never stay at the Edition!

Yelp
Don't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that actually had all the amenities and services it said online. I stayed here for a week in June last year, and I felt bad that I had set my expectations for the rest of my Euro trip to be so high. The room was a decent size, but the sheets/linen and setup was perfect. I'm not too familiar with this area, it was my first time visiting, but I quickly learned that this was the ideal location to stay. Walking distance from everything! Pro tip: If you are thinking of when to visit, come during Summer Solstice, and you will thank me later. Mainly for anyone visiting from the states (where bars/clubs close at 2am), the partying here doesn't start till 1am and I remember making it back to my hotel each morning around 9 and the parties all along the beach were still going on! You're pretty central to food, shopping, the water, and the staff here is very very welcoming. Most other parts of Spain I had to really dig into my Spanish speaking bag to make my way around, but I got away with English here. I stayed at a few other hotels in Barcelona, but this one is the one that really left an impression. Oh! And do NOT forget about checking out the bar upstairs. It's a great place to meet people if you're traveling alone as I was!

Yelp
We stayed four wonderful nights at this hotel. This hotel is new, opening up in the summer of 2018, and looks and feels new. The style of the hotel has a lot of wood and modern glass, well put together. The hotel is located in El Born section of Barcelona, right next to the Gothic Quarter. If you aren't familiar with Barcelona as I was, it is right where you want to be. The majority of the trip was spent in and around the Gothic Quarter, all walking distance. Excellent location. The room was impeccable. We had a room overlooking the street, it had interesting rooms that jut out over the street for good views. Everything inside was to the 10s. The rooms are all equipped with modern amenities. USB ports, central controls for lights, motorized curtains, etc. The TVs are internet capable to log into your Netflix account if you choose. Room cleaning was excellent, even coming to your room once for cleaning and providing a turn down service which is a nice touch. We sampled all of the bars/ restaurants of the hotel. The roof top: Amazing view of the city in 3 sides of the hotel. Stunning! It's set up well, it has beds and large comfortable chairs everywhere, so you can choose what you like. There is a pool on the roof, we did not enjoy it being December. The bar is nice with a decent selection of whisky. And you will see a running theme in this review, the staff was super accommodating everywhere we went in every experience. Punch Room: This is on the second floor of the hotel. The design is such as you start at the rooftop, which is the first to close, next you and your party can go to the Punch Room. This place was much more my style. It's dimly lit and has candles to set a great vibe. This place has super nice and comfortable leather couches to sit as a couple or with groups. The bar does not have seating so you will end up in one of these couches. The Punch Room has a great pool table, a wonderful way to meet visitors coming in from all over the world. We went here twice during our stay, was moderately busy and a great time. Cabaret: This is the restaurant/club at the bottom of the hotel. We did not eat here but ended up here after one of our late night Punch Room nights. This place is trendy and busy. This is not one of the hotel parties that 3 patrons show up to. This place is busy that visitors and locals go to, right in your hotel! You don't have to leave to go to a great party. The music is not heard throughout the hotel as is common, so you can still get a good night sleep. Great time. The hotel does not charge you for admission if you are a guest, I honestly cannot tell you if they charged others coming in. Bar Veraz: We had a quick lunch here, our experience was average. The food was good and the staff was great, but not as impeccable as the service. There was not any negative aspects, just nothing over the top awesome as well. I highly recommend staying here. The staff is amazing but this experience was unexpected. Unfortunately my girlfriend fell ill from something she had eaten, not from the hotel. I was speaking with Matilda, the Swedish waitress who works at the rooftop. She had sent teas to our room to help my girlfriend feel better. She was genuinely interested in our well being. IN addition guest services would check in to ensure she was ok and if we needed anything at all. I was not expecting a hotel to go above and beyond like that. Matilda is an outstanding addition to the Edition, Barcelona is fortunate to have her. You cannot teach that type of hospitality and we are very much grateful. If we return to Barcelona we will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
DO NOT stay here if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful stay. Unfortunately from the moment we got into our room I knew it was going to be a rough two days, and it absolutely was. I don't know what rooms the people who left 5 star reviews were staying in, but on our floor the walls, ceilings, doors are paper thin. Without exaggerating, from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we heard every door slam, every footstep and stomp of the people above us, every small bang or chair moving. e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g., there was not a moment of more than a minute or so where we did not hear something banging or slamming. Not only that but when the door closed in the room next to us, our bed and headboard would shake. I'm in shock by the absolutely poor construction of this hotel with no thought of soundproofing whatsoever. Such a disappointment that for how much we paid for this hotel, we did not get a single moment of silence. We asked if we could switch rooms but the only other room they could offer us was the room directly next to us, so no difference and wouldn't help with the noise issue. Rooms were small, which we knew going into it, and clean. The staff were kind and helpful, but that is about the only pro I could think of. The poor soundproofing causing constant noise warrants this as a 1 star hotel, not a 5 star charging upwards of $500+ per night. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT STAY HERE unless you are ok with being kept up all day and night. This is my first and last time staying at an Edition property and I would never recommend it to anyone. If I could check out early, I would however they are unable to refund or cancel our reservation so we are stuck here for another day, ruining the last days of our trip.

Yelp
I stay at about 100 nights per year at Marriotts, and the service at the Barcelona EDITION blew them all away. I parked my car in a nearby non-Marriott lot as the hotel was a bit hard to find (small sign, Spain aesthetics), and went to check in, but I wanted valet just to make life easier. Rodrigo walked me to my car, grabbed our luggage, drug it back to the hotel and up to our room. THEN he went back down and moved the car to the valet lot and didn't even charge me for the 30-60 minute parking that I'm sure I owed. The front desk staff helped with restaurant recommendations and directions, and went so far as to print out the recommendations and overview of each place. The rooms are spacious by European standards, and the bathroom takes up almost half the square footage! Very nice. They have a great casual bar on Floor 0, and a cool, trendy bar on Floor 1. They also have a rooftop bar with a tiny pool, but it was too windy to really enjoy it after our first day. We were staying one night then driving around Spain, coming back to Barcelona for another two nights and we decided to stay here again. The service was exceptional that time as well. BTW, I know almost zero Spanish, and all the staff we encountered knew very good English.

Yelp
The worst experience we had in Spain. Rude doesn't even begin to describe the staff. The staff was stuck up, inexperienced and incapable of doing their job. As a titanium elite member, we are used to getting quality service and we did get quality service at the W Barcelona and Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastián, however, on our last two days in Barcelona, the Edition completely ruined our trip and Marriott experience. First off, I would like to state that the rooms are super small, two adults cannot comfortably occupy the space, so we were forced to pay and upgrade to a suite. The suite wasn't that much bigger, but it was tolerable. Once we paid and upgraded to a suite, the girl at the front desk, didn't know how to validate keys for our room. The keys were only valid for a few hours, before expiring and locking us out. We were forced to go downstairs to get our keys reinstated in which no one decided to apologize for the inconvenience or even knowledge that this shouldn't have happened especially when you're paying so much more for a suite. That aside, they would never greet us when walking in and out of the hotel--which the W Barcelona did and the Hotel Maria Cristina. They would not hold open the door for us. Even when leaving to the airport with 6 suitcases, no one wanted to get the door for us so we struggled getting out ourselves. This is a category 7 hotel, it is considered on the higher end, however motel 6 or holiday inn have better service then this. At first, I thought maybe it's because we're American and we're used to good customer service, but after comparing it to the other hotels that we stayed at during our trip, I came to the conclusion that this lacked in every aspect. The rooms weren't nice. The staff was stuck up and incapable of doing their job. The service was also lacking. Save your money and time and don't waste it at this hotel, the staff all look like their aspiring models or actors that are too good looking to know how to do their job--sad thing is, they weren't even good to look at.

Yelp
So so good! This is 5 star hotels done right. The only possibly negative is the size of the rooftop pool and/or rooms. That being said. The room is done so well. The roof is a great place to relax and take in the city. The air conditioning is amazing, the location is perfect and the rooms are quiet! All make this is a huge win for me!

Yelp
Save your vacation from unpleasant surprise. Very disappointed with rooms and service. We were shocked how small the room was. There are hardly any drawers. Even though we had carry on luggages and only two it was very difficult to maneuver around the tiny room. Bathroom was even smaller one sink and hardly any space to even have the most basic necessities on the counter. They had rusty leaky old hose Next to toilet for their version of bidet which did not work. And there were almost no place to hang the towels. We were not able to use roof top restaurant or any of amenities as it appears they always have parties of some sort which the space is reserved and hotel guest can not access. We discuss the issues with front desk and we promptly informed them we are checking out the next day. The manager assured us that he changed the check out date and there will be no additional charges. However the next day upon check out the day manager indicated that there were no notes or check out date were made on system and charge us an additional night. We were disappointed with room, lack of any window to open for slight fresh air. Rooms are very claustrophobic. We gladly paid the extra night that we did not stay to just get out of the hotel as fast as possible. Do not recommend.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. A 5 star hotel that's actually a 5 star hotel. This hotel has one of the most comfortable beds and sheets I've ever slept in. It was amazing. Not to mention the little bay window with a couch was also comfortable! The hotel design is sleek, modern, gorgeous. The rooftop bar has amazing views of Barcelona. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a drink or 2, near sunset. We also tried the downstairs restaurant which was pretty good albeit pricey, as expected. Service was very polite, helpful, and attentive. As Titanium members, I'd say the amenities and service were on par. Lastly, it is in pretty prime location in the Gothic quarter. Seriously, the Barcelona Cathedral is like across the street and Palau de la Musica Catalana a stone's throw away. A Barcelona Turistic hop on and hop off bus stop is on the same street, and pretty close to Urbiquanoa subway stop. Nice walk to Jaume area and about 15 min walk to Barceloneta/beach. One thing is that the smell of perfume is quite strong when walking into the lobby, they could tone that down in my opinion.

Yelp
Stayed here for six nights in April 2019. The hotel only opened in July 2018 and is not very large (100 rooms). I was accompanied by my 11 year old son, so there were certain features of the hotel I was unable to try (Punch Room & Cabaret). Check in was smooth - as a Marriott Platinum they upgraded my room (still small though) - best thing they did was accommodate a 10:30am check-in for me - after the red eye flight from Newark, this was a godsend. The hotel is located in the El Born district, right next to the Barcelona cathedral and the Gothic Quarter (great place to walk around). The location of the hotel is fantastic, as many of the attractions and shopping (Placa Catalunya, Passeig de Garcia, etc.) are walking distance. All the staff (bellmen, concierge, front desk) were friendly and super helpful. Had one issue with housekeeping in the first few days (time of cleaning) and I called them and it was resolved. Overall it was a great stay and I would stay here again the next time I am in Barcelona.

Yelp
Update: The hotel's quality manager (Marione) contacted me and followed up on our experience. They generously comped us drinks and appetizers at the brand new Edition in Los Angeles, where we live. The hotel manager and food manager came by to greet us and the entire experience made us forget about any past troubles we had. Overall this was a great way to handle an otherwise difficult situation. Original Review: Rooms at this hotel are tiny. Like smaller than NYC hotels. Service was horrible. My fiancee and I booked a trip to Spain (Barcelona 1 night, 3 nights San Sebastian, 2 nights in Barcelona ) for her birthday and we stayed at 3 different Marriott properties. This one was clearly a failure compared to the other two (W Barcelona and Hotel Maria Cristina). When we first checked in, we quickly realized that we didn't have room to unpack. We asked if there was a larger room available and had to pay over $100 per night to get a room where we weren't feeling like we were suffocating. We also noticed that the hotel lacked service. We called the service desk and asked if they could bring some water to the room. An hour later, nothing. I ended up going downstairs and getting it myself. We thought this was a one time thing but we called again and the service desk just put us on hold for 15 mins until we called back. The worst part is that they wouldn't even apologize after I brought it to their attention. The doormen were always too busy with their own conversations to actually open the door. The front desk never once greeted us as we walked into the hotel. Our room keys deactivated every night. Looking back we agreed that of all the things that could have gone badly, this hotel stay was the worst part of our trip. I'm writing this review so that others traveling to this beautiful country could save the money and the disappointment by avoiding this hotel.

Yelp
DON'T STAY HERE!!!! SMALL. NOISY. RUDE EMPLOYEES. BAD SERVICE. The rooms are so small even for one person. You will bump into every piece of wood in the place and end up w bruises. The showers s$ck and are small and cramped. The toilet is literally next to the bed. No privacy. The paint is cheap and hospital white. The wood panel looks like a handy man work. We are titanium status and booked six months ago and they gave us this crappy room next to the elevator when we asked specifically to not be here. Are these people just STUPID? The front receptionist is beyond rude. The first thing out of her mouth was that we will not be getting the free breakfast. We stayed at this hotel in New York and it was just as awful but we decided to give them a second chance. We will NEVER do that again. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Yelp
Service was impeccable. Rooms were nice. The location was excellent for walking to various parts of the city. Stayed here using a combination of Starwood points and cash. However, if we had to pay full price in cash, the value might not have been worth it. It is a very nice property, but would not necessarily call it an ultra-lux hotel. It has the benefit of being brand new at the moment. If they can sustain the property condition and service quality long-term, it will deserve a higher rating over time. Special thanks go to the two concierges that we had. Recommendations for paella and Catalan cuisine were excellent during our three day stay.

Yelp
We had a fabulous stay here for 3 nights. Rooms are modern and bathrooms are big for Europe (or really anywhere). Comfortable beds and lots of great features. The location is fantastic with lots of great attractions within walking distance -- near the gothic quarter and not far to La Rambla among others. This would be a lovely place to stay for comfort but what makes it great and a place we'd return to is the staff. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and many went above and beyond. We got great restaurant recommendations, any help we needed, and all so gracious and genuinely friendly. To boot, I'm now the proud owner of a drawing by Martin, one of the bellmen, who made it for me after a conversation about how much I enjoyed the Picasso Museum.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my stay here, wonderful hotel! Rooms were very comfortable and everything was clean and in working order. Service by all was terrific and English spoken very well. Great location to hop into the Gothic District and other sites. Would definitely stay again! Thank you.

Yelp
Great service. Clean rooms. Highly recommend this hotel. Love the bar area. Soft music at the bar at night, great atmosphere. The Terrance on top floor has a spectacular view. .

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Seems like Marriot is trying to deliver Four Seasons-esque service and experience, and they're succeeding. Also the hidden bars and rooftop are cool.

Yelp
The front desk staff was excellent, room was beautiful but the service in the roof pool area was beyond terrible. After 2 hours without any interaction with one of the many servers I went to the bar and had to wave at the bartender to even ask for water and a soda. If the bar is not managed by the hotel it should make that clear as a poor reflection on the hotel. I am going back to the Mandarin Oriental!!

Yelp
Biggest let down of a hotel i have ever been too. The rooms are tiny. I understand we are in the city. But Venice at Regis was able to have rooms twice the size. This room was microscopic and apparently the deluxe king. No welcome gifts and only one bottle of water upon arrival. Room and the pictures online of the room don't match up. No closet space. Awful cramped feeling. No bathtub literally the worst room i have ever stayed in within the Bonvoy network. I have had an amazing experience at the hotel arts with exceptional service and this hotel couldn't be farther from that. With the editions known prestige i expected much much much more than this. Maybe i would expect this from a category two. This is the biggest waste of money and such a disappointment Since we planned our trip to Barcelona around staying at this hotel. Should've gone to a different city with a better and more accommodating hotel.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING customer service. From the second we walked in to the second we left, I have NEVER had a better hotel experience, or customer service experience in general. Clean, outstanding rooms and great bar and room service. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This hotel opened less than a year ago in Barcelona and has nice rooms and top notch amenities. Definitely visit the rooftop if you decide to stay here. The staff is fantastic and made the entire experience a pleasure. It's also centrally located in one of the best areas of Barcelona and close to the Jaume I metro station.
