"Contrary to what your parents remember from their visit in 1995, Downtown LA is very much a thing now. While you can find any type of bar you want Downtown these days, your first move should be Nomad. Located in the DTLA hotel of the same name, you take an elevator all the way to the roof, and step out onto an open-air patio with some of the best views of Downtown, plus a pool, tremendous cocktails, and a cool, low-key crowd that’s always ready to mingle." - brant cox
"This casual rooftop at The Wayfarer hotel isn’t the most glamorous terrace in DTLA, but it does work well for a last-minute group meal. Perched on the 24th floor, it's got skyline views, comfy booths, and a tiny pool that’s basically just for looks. Most people come here to drink tropical cocktails, and while we don’t usually follow the crowd, the bright-colored drinks here are quite good. We’re also fans of the solid all-day menu, which involves some small share plates, raw dishes, and a few entrees like a thick bacon cheeseburger and steak frites." - nikko duren, brant cox, sylvio martins
"Find the Rooftop at the Wayfarer above bustling Downtown. The restaurant closes at 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at midnight on weekends, making it a good late-night hangout in the center of LA. Brunch is also available, with fish and chips made with cornmeal-crusted branzino, chicken and waffles, cocktails, and more." - Mona Holmes, Rebecca Roland
"The Wayfarer’s rooftop bar is currently offering a Bad Bunny cocktail made from aged tequila mixed with carrot juice, Ancho Reyes Liqueur chile poblano verde, lime juice, and agave, and it’s on the menu now so there’s no need to wait for Benito to be in town." - Rebecca Roland
