We were at the Roosevelt during an 8-day Christmas visit to family here in Coeur d'Alene. I cannot express how absolutely pleased we are with our stay! The day before check-in, we received an email which confirmed our reservations and let us know important things, such as check in time, as well as some information on the surrounding area.
When we arrived, John brought us a tray with some of the best bread pudding we've ever had as a welcome gift! We stayed in the Lischner Room, which is in the back corner of the building. It is wheelchair accessible, so there is a curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom, but we were aware of this ahead of time and it really wasn't a problem. There's a sign-up sheet for breakfast laid out every afternoon, so we were able to pick a comfortable time, which is very nice for a B&B! Breakfast was a buffet of fresh fruit, granola, cereal, waffles, or toast, with a daily special of eggs, sausage/bacon, and/or roasted potatoes. Perhaps a bit heavy, but..it's vacation! The addition of the buffet gave the option of a lighter breakfast when desired, however.
I think the main thing to keep in mind when visiting is that this is a much more casual and personal atmosphere than staying at the resort, which is definitely our speed. The staff is very eager to please, and I didn't find them intrusive as some other reviewers seem to have. Both John and Tina made us feel welcome and we will definitely be staying here again the next time we venture to North Idaho!
