We had such a wonderful stay at The Roost Boutique Hotel on Porter Street! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, stylish, and welcoming. We stayed in the Pelican Suite, which was absolutely beautiful—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and so comfortable. The entire property has a cozy, inviting charm that makes you feel right at home. What truly made my experience exceptional, though, was the service. Hiram went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our time there enjoyable. His recommendations and hospitality really elevated the whole experience. I can’t say enough good things about The Roost—it’s a hidden gem that combines comfort, character, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to all my friends!

My husband and I stayed at the Roost for 3 nights for his birthday and our Anniversary. We had an incredible stay! The young lady working the front desk was lovely and very attentive to our needs. She went above and beyond to walk us to our room in the pouring rain! Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and relaxing, and the balcony was an added plus! We swam in the pool and even had it all to ourselves one afternoon. The Roost is an amazing place to stay and we look forward to staying here again!

Upon check-in on 9/14, Sunday, I was greeted by the sweetest young lady. She welcomed me with a smile and explained everything I needed to know. Also personally took me on a small tour of the grounds and escorted me to where my room was. I had no questions, she was fantastic. The rooms had so much charm as well as all of The Roost Boutique Hotel. I slept so good. The courtyards and pool area were fantastic. The Bar was convenient and accommodating to our needs and so was the bartender. We even sat out upstairs on one of the landings in the Rocking chairs. This place is an experience like no other. You have to try it. I felt like a queen. The entire staff were all so friendly. Truly a Southern place to be. Oh....I forgot to go back and buy a candle. But that's okay, I will be back to get one. They smell wonderful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Roost Hotel located in Ocean Springs. It's a quaint boutique hotel with beautiful oak trees surrounding the property. It is conveniently located and near the restaurants and shops on Washington St. We stayed in a suite which gave us plenty of space to spread out. It was nice having a separate living area and small kitchen. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The only area that needed a bit of attention was the shower doors, as they had a film on them probably from soap suds building up over time. The staff was both friendly and accommodating. Loved the special cocktails at the bar located on the property.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Roost. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the pool and sitting by the outdoor fireplace. It was so nice that The Roost was walking distance from restaurants and shops. We definitely will be visiting again.

Upon arrival and throughout our stay, The Roost exceeded my expectations. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully appointed. But what really set this place apart was the staff - the most accommodating I've ever encountered. Their guest services and attention to detail is incredible.||We were a party of four traveling for a long weekend and reserved side-by-side rooms that shared a private balcony. It was ideal for enjoying glasses of wine at the end of each day! The Roost is nestled among mature trees on a quiet street and within walking distance to restaurants, boutiques and bars. Because some of us were not up to exploring on foot, we rented a golf cart from the hotel. It was perfect, as Ocean Springs is a golf cart-friendly town.||And I can't leave out the staff at The Wilbur (on-site craft cocktail bar). On the night of our arrival, we were tired and seeking a quiet place to land. Since there was an event winding down at the bar, we chose a peaceful spot outside under the trees. The manager noticed and came out to make sure we were comfortable, personally took our drink and appetizer orders and had us served outside. I highly recommend their Wilbur's Sour - I didn't even know I liked bourbon before I had it! ||Our Girls Trip 2025 was very memorable, and The Roost & The Wilbur played a huge role in making that so. A solid 10 out of 10, and I will be back!

We came to The Roost in search of serenity—and we found it. The late-afternoon light, with a prosecco (supplied as a welcome gift by the staff), a good book, and refreshing, unhurried swim were golden moments. The bed was perfectly firm - I had deep unbroken sleep (which is rare for me). Only suggestion is that the windows on first floor would be better provided with window shutters.

The Roost is a lovely spot. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was amazingly friendly. We enjoyed relaxing in the common spaces and at the pool. The grounds are lovely and the staff take great pride in their work. We will go back.

Yelp
Second visit. It's a great little boutique hotel. Great aesthetics and relaxing vibe. Walkable location to the main drag in Ocean Springs as well as the beach. This time, we noticed there were a few minor items that could use some maintenance but nothing that prevented us from enjoying our stay.

Yelp
Our very quick overnight trip to Ocean Springs was TOO short but exceeded our expectations because we stayed at The Roost. The lovely Paula checked us in at the front desk. She showed us around the property and even drove us to dinner in her golf cart. So accommodating and happy to help! We ventured down to the wee Wilbur Bar before heading out to dinner. It's so cute! We had a glass of wine and an Aperol spritz while chatting with some other travelers and the nice barkeep. The Roost is comfortable and the staff is friendly and professional. It's a shame we didn't have much time to really enjoy the property. Next time we'll make sure to visit the beautiful pool and relax in the common areas with a good book. I highly recommend The Roost!

Yelp
Very cool boutique hotel. Staff is great! Outdoor area is amazing!!! Rooms kind of small but this is the kind of place you are likely to hang outside. Great for groups and vac with grown kids. Not comfortable walking distance to the busy downtown area. But the owners have many other properties and some of those are. (Stayed at the Hemingway previously- it's wonderful) Hidden room behind bookcase in the Wilbur bar area is super cool. Overall great experience!!

Yelp
My only regret about The Roost is that we didn't have more time to spend at this adorable hotel. We arrived late and had to leave at the crack of dawn to get back to New Orleans for our swamp tour so we barely had time to enjoy our beautiful room or the community spaces. I briefly checked out the attached bar and wished I could have gotten a drink there. For the brief time that I spent here, I was very impressed with the quaint yet classy vibe. If I ever visit the Gulf Coast again, I'll be sure to book a room here for at least a couple nights.

Yelp
Such a nice boutique hotel in beautiful Ocean Springs. Great for a long weekend away from kids. Great pool and small bar for wonderful drinks.

Yelp
For the rates this place charges ($500/night with a two night minimum), there are some major quality control issues. There are no amenities whatsoever besides the pool, which isn't staffed and doesn't have towels. During our stay, the hotel had rented out half the pool area for a private event, leaving about 8 seats at the pool. There isn't onsite food and beverage, except a bar which opens in the evening - took the bartender about 20 minutes to make two cocktails. The rooms need an update - scuffed walls, sticky floors, curtains that don't close, and a bizarrely inconvenient setup, like a dresser stuffed into the closet so you can't hang anything in there, no hooks in the bathroom, etc. Housekeeping does the bare minimum. No staff on site except the person at the front desk who leaves at 7 - which means there is no one to help haul your luggage up the flights of stairs when they book you in a second floor room with no parking nearby. You're better off staying in an Airbnb, because that's basically what this is. Unclear what you're paying for here.

Yelp
This is a first rate hotel. Totally unique and very well run. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Stayed here for a few nights and was blown away. Property is clean and spotless, very well maintained. Our room was immaculate and finished well. Pool area is gorgeous and cozy, with a fireplace directly next to it. Our room even included a fan in the closet that we used at night when sleeping for background noise. Never been to a hotel who thought about small touches like that before. The on-site bar was also super cute and sweet inside. All in all, the whole place is absolutely beautiful and has a very unique feeling to it. Doesn't feel like you're at a hotel to be honest. Feels more like a second home.

Yelp
The property was beautiful and everyone was so friendly! I'll definitely be going back for another relaxing weekend getaway.

Yelp
Lovely overnight stay at The Roost. We were able to get last minute reservations on Memorial Day Sunday and took the short drive from New Orleans to get a break from the city. The Roost is beautiful, the staff friendly, and within walking distance to the beach and downtown area. (what more can you ask for!) We stayed in the Pelican Suite and it was decorated perfectly. Rustic charm and very comfortable. The Roost has a resident cat who is super friendly and I think should be considered part of The Roost's family. That adorable feline welcomed us with purrs and visited with us in the evening on the porch with some of the other guests. Note: The Roost has a great outdoor area where you can enjoy lounging, reading, coffee or wine drinking...whatever suits your fancy. Thank you for a lovely stay. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Clean rooms.. nice bar..very friendly staff however there's no mirror in the room we stayed in. There's a mirror over the sink that's it ... weird.. no idea what these clothes look like I have on !! lol ...walls between the rooms were paper thin. I heard the TV on all night in the room next to mine, yikes!! for the money I probably won't come back..

Yelp
The Roost is a wonderful hotel to stay at when you visit Ocean Springs, Ms. My wife and I recently stayed here. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel setting is wonderful. The location is close to the town shops, and restaurants, etc.. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy! My wife and I will be back!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed for one night on November 14, 2022 in the Pelican room. Don't let the pictures fool you. The owners did a great job staging the rooms and have a nice looking website. Upon arriving we were greeted with a sign that said the front desk was closed and to go to the Wilbur for assistance. We walked around the property which is lovely and found the Wilbur. We were greeted by two very sweet workers who were not exactly sure where the Pelican was. We went with where they thought it was and found our room. To get to the room we had to climb a flight of metal stairs with holes on each tread. I'm glad I wasn't wearing heels. As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a wonderful scent of mildew. The room looked like the picture but dingy. The bathroom closet was unusable because the mildew smell was horrible. The shower door was dirty and there was hair left on the shower floor..gross. The place was dusty, spiders behind the toilet, windows were broken and the sofa was stained. The king size bed was extremely uncomfortable and we were both rolling to the center of the mattress. Back to the Wilbur. We met our cousins there for drinks and the speakeasy is great. I would definitely go back to the Wilbur. Back to the mildew. I took what I was wearing to bed out of my suitcase and it stunk like mildew. I get what the owners were trying to do but you can't just throw on a coat of paint, buy a few pieces of furniture and call it a day. Too bad I really wanted to love this place.

Yelp
Absolutely the best place to stay on the Gulf Coast. This is a true gem for my favorite get away spot.

Yelp
This was a fantastic place to stay! This place is unlike anything that I've ever been to. It was a warming room and had great service. There's a bar in the bottom of the building with seating outside. I did not have a drink but if I were staying another night I probably would have. Everything was spot on! I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
We planned an quick trip (we live less than 2 hours away) so my husband could see the town and especially go to the Walter Anderson Museum and Shearwater pottery. I stayed at the Inn (which is also owned by The Roost) about 9 months ago with a friend, but got a tour of the Roost, and had decided to stay there with my husband. We were hoping for early check in since we wanted to walk around the town before the rain the next day, and this was easily arranged for us. The same for late checkout the next day. Having the remodeled Wilbur Bar open for a light supper that night was great, since we had a large meal for a late lunch in town. Al-in-all, service was impeccable, shower was large, room was delightfully remodeled to a high standard, and the bed was comfy. We will bring family from California back for a visit when they come next spring!

Yelp
Top of the line experience. They think of everything and give their guest a wonderful experience. Beautiful room, heavenly bed, with coffee pot and tea, small fridge and lovely soaps. Look forward to my return, it is really as good as the website. A few blocks from the main drag, but nice walk.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I spent one night rainy night in the Fern suite, at the Roost. The room was beautiful, with a bed I still dream about. The location was ideal, in the heart of downtown Ocean Springs. We spent a lovely evening on the porch of the hotel. We will be back the next time we are in Ocean Springs!
