The Rope Loft

I had the opportunity to go to the Rope Loft on a date with someone special. He highly recommended the chowder. We went mid- afternoon and the waitresses were very kind and accommodating. The view is beautiful from there. We both had a bowl of chowder and it was all seafood. It was one of the best chowders I’ve had all year. Thank you for making my first experience amazing.

PROS: Had the most amazing lunch!! My haddock melted in my mouth & that Cesar salad was one of the best I've ever had, & I've had many in some high end restaurants, it has a little something different & welcoming in it to put it to my #1 spot. The view from the patio was stunning. Will be back again for the food & atmosphere. Cheers to the chef who was there Friday Sept 6th!! CONS: Parking, not so great and had to walk a country mile. But after the great meal we had it was worth the walk ;)

Wow!!! What a spot!!! Amazing food and uniqueness that can only be found in the maritimes. Food was amazing!!! The coconut shrimp are out of this world good! I'll be back!

Visited in September 2023 whilst staying at the Mecklenburg Inn up the street. Very popular place - ad hoc visits may require a bit of a wait, but its well worth it. Outdoor seating a both standard and high tables with great views of the harbour. Staff was great as was the food. Price was a bit on the high side. Overall great experience - I'd go out of my way to come here again!

Best calamari I’ve ever had. Lobster roll was really good too. The patio and view is amazing. Great service!!

Food was very good. You can tell the kitchen staff knows what their doing. The portions are not to big, just perfect. Everything seems to be fresh. Great atmosphere during the day on the patio. $$$

Great experience with good portions. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their food. The food was delicious and plentiful. Some advice, staff expressing their concern in their outside voice; makes a five star a three star. It took away from a great experience, hearing two servers, complain and worry about how their cash out. The atmosphere would have been awesome with a five star view of the harbour. June 23, 2019 Went back for a second try and it was amazing. The desert and food was awesome.

We had a very nice beet salad with a wide range of tasty ingredients. The halibut was served on a bed of risotto which was vegetarian. There was a nice selection of different local craft beers available. Service was pleasant and friendly. Relatively small number of vegetarian options but overall we enjoyed it and would be happy to go back next time we are in the area.
