The Rose (Deal , Kent) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Kentish seaside resort town of Deal is the home of The Rose, a 200-year-old high street pub that’s been transformed by designers Nicola Harding and Michelle Kelly into a splendidly unique, thoroughly romantic eight-room boutique hotel. It’s nothing if not colorful, and heavily features an impressive collection of vintage and retro fixtures and furnishings. Every room is different; some come with roll-top tubs, and many feature turntables and record collections. And the restaurant is every bit the attraction that the hotel itself is, serving a simple but lovely take on modern British cuisine." - Tablet Hotels

Excellent restaurant. The Rose really surprised me in the best way. Service was warm and friendly. Just genuinely nice staff who made the evening feel easy and relaxed. I went for the courgette rice dish and it was absolutely delicious fresh, light, but packed with flavour. You could tell the ingredients were top quality and the chef actually cares about what they’re serving. What really stood out, though, was the balance of it all fine dining presentation and flavours without it being too pricey. All in all, a great evening.

A true boutique hotel, very snazzy indeed - as reflected in its prices. (A very rare treat for us.) Achingly on-trend. In its way a luxurious, beautiful gem, a sort of piece of architectural, decorative and culinary performance art. Pleasant staff. Ultimately disappointed in the detail, in the small things which prevent an honest 5 star review: dusty chest of drawers, scalding hot water, loose bathroom door handle, wobbly patio table; and a surprising lack of empathy from the owners when we had to check out a day early due to my poor health (prostate cancer).

Really nice high quality hotel in the centre of Deal. The hotel itself is lovely with some nice touches (complementary cake, tea and brandy for guests) and a great inclusive breakfast. It has a brilliant sun trap terrace, extensive drinks selection in the bar and the service in general was excellent! We ate at their Japanese inspired sister restaurant (The Blue Pelican) which was 5 mins away and well worth a visit if you want something a little different! Will definitely stay again!

Such a great find!! Rooms were really pretty and had everything we needed. Loved free tea and cake at 3-5pm, delicious breakfast! Would 100% recommend. Lovely staff too. The only thing - and it is out of the hotel’s hands - is the church bell…it rung every single hour through the night which meant we woke up every hour!! Not what we needed for a rare precious night away from the kids! Apparently there are some rooms which the noise isn’t so bad so check with the staff before you book…they did provide 1 set of ear plugs - only mistake of the hotel is not to provide 2 sets! (I can’t remember but I think we were room 6)

Lives up to the 5 star reviews. Such polite staff and outstanding meals served. They promptly sent two ultra soft pillows to my room. Quiet property.

We stayed 2 nights. What a lovely friendly place with really tasty food. Our room had a comfortable bed; nice tolietries; great shower. Tea and coffee plus marshmallow chocolate cakes on a tray on the landing plus complimentary whisky. ||(We were a bit surprised to find no TV in our room. Would suggest that it is stated clearly in room descriptions online that there is no TV (as it is stated there is one in some rooms) as I think generally these days it would be assumed there is; which is what we did)||The food was really tasty, well cooked and presented. Service was helpful but not intrusive. Breakfast was equally nice. It was particularly kind of the waitress to get me the recipe for the delicious homemade granola as well! ||The complimentary tea and cake at 3pm each afternoon is also a lovely touch and a real treat. ||We will be back

Always a delight to eat at The Rose - it's our go to restaurant in Deal when we get together as a family, or for a celebration. The cocktails are really delicious, with unique seasonal flavours, and we always get excited to see what's on the list for our pre-dinner drink! As usual, a total pleasure to be served by lovely Jess :)

We stayed here for one night in June. The hotel is beautiful and rooms are beautifully fitted out - comfy bed, amazing shower and toiletries. Tea and Coffee (and brandy?1?) in the hall outside room was a nice touch. ||||Breakfast included which was cooked to order and tasted fantastic. Orange juice, toast and coffee and not hurried to move on and out!||||Lovely staff and the outside bar and terrace was wonderful as the weather was hot.||||Thank you - it was always going to be a difficult stay (my daughter who died last year loved this hotel and she got engaged in Deal). She was only 34 and we had come to scatter her ashes at the end of the pier so it was a poignant, bitter sweet occasion but I know she was looking down on us. Apologies to the lovely lady on reception, we didn't mean to make you cry but hearing about Aimee, your tears were spontaneous and we are grateful for your kindness. xxx||||Well done to the whole team, you deserve the success.
