The Best Hotels in the Bahamas | Condé Nast Traveler

"As part of Atlantis Paradise Island, I found The Royal to be the family-friendly, iconic centerpiece with renovation-fresh East and West towers and rooms in calming blues and pale grays with water-facing balconies. There’s almost no need to stay inside — the property offers nearly a dozen pools and more than 25 dining options — and experiences range from swimming with dolphins to an excellent kids club (ages three through 12) featuring a life-sized Victorian dollhouse, a Lego room, arts and crafts, and a theater; adults can enjoy the on-site golf course and casino." - Annabelle Spranklen

What a great trip with adult children!!! We really experienced the resort!! We ventured out daily and found something new that we hadn’t discovered on our last two trips. Aquaventure was a blast!! Unfortunately the lazy river is no longer a continuous ride due to a financial deal? Most restaurants were great like Claudio’s, Cocodrillo’s, Marina Pizza, Carmines, and even the bar at Shake Shack! A little tidbit we learned that room service would reheat our Carmines leftovers….saved us some money, which was a blessing! Disappointed that the marketplace across the street only had a handful of vendors the high rent caused everyone to leave…Atlantis needs adults only floors, we had crying toddlers each morning beginning at 6:30am-8:30am. They didn’t even try to quiet them down. If our kids had a rough go, my husband or I would take them for a walk to be considerate of other guests. ||I’d suggest they hang more hooks in the bathroom since we had a lot of wet bathing suits. Maybe add a guest laundry too!!||Would definitely recommend a trip here at least once in your lifetime…we had a blast!!!

It is our first time in the Bahamas and first stay in Atlantis. The hotel feels luxurious and beautifully decked out with holiday decorations at this time. During our stay, the resort had plenty of amenities, dining options, and attractions. Best of all, the service was impeccable. Staff greeted us with warm Bahamian hospitality and wholly accommodated our requests. Shout out to Ovan, who was the first to welcome us to the hotel and gave us a complimentary upgrade! He definitely set the stage for a wonderful trip and experience!

The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. The hotel is nice but not a 4 star. Inferior bedding, they were low on pillows, the food prices are no joke and a family of four spending 200 dollars for breakfast is just silly. Dinner is going to cost 200+ with no alcohol. They have two lower cost options, shake shack and a rice place where cost is about 25pp. Mini golf is $44 for an adult and 25 for kids. We loved the sharks, and turtles and fish in the dig tank. Kids did the dolphin experience which was $250 for about 30 minutes in the water. Normally I would have given this a 3.5 review. ||. - the reason for such a low review is an incident on The rapids river is dangerous and understaffed. My Son 10 year old son was injured by slamming full speed into rocks as he got sent down rapids backwards as there was not staff at the opening at the next life guard we exited river and the staff said they called for help and the manager was coming with a cart as he was having trouble walking more than 30 minutes passed and I had to carry him about a quarter mile to the nurse who had no idea there was a medical emergency. The staff and nurse were kind but this was a serious injury that ruined the rest of his trip. ||I didn’t hear any follow up from management, when I brought the incident to their attention of the front desk later in the day. If he hit his head at that speed he would have had a life threatening injury and no help would come.

It's been one of our most anticipated destinations, and it was awesome. Mid November and it seemed like a perfect time to visit except a few inconveniences from done attractions not being open, but there was plenty to do. Was it expensive? You betcha, but we were prepared for it so we could just enjoy ourselves and experience it fully. Seafire Restaurant served up a great meal including American Lamb - it was the most enjoyable meal I've had in a long time... Excellent. The resort is huge with enough space to be away from others, within reason. The aquariums went beyond expectations. Near surprises at every turn. Can't say enough about the experience.

Overall, the hotel is beautiful and spectacular, but the service does not match the level of the property. Maybe 30% of the staff and I’m being generous are actually friendly, but the other 70% are not. I felt completely discriminated against because if you don’t speak perfect English, they get impatient with you, they don’t really help, and they act rude. I think this is something very important for the hotel to know, because it shouldn’t be happening considering how expensive it is to stay here. They should have staff who speak more languages, or at least be kind even if you don’t speak English well. Another issue is that the room was not cleaned properly when we didn’t leave a tip, which should never happen in a hotel of this price range. You’re expected to leave tips everywhere, even for something as simple as buying a soda, and the cleaning should be consistent whether you leave a tip or not. We always left tips, and the one day we didn’t, the room was not cleaned well at all. Another point is that the rooms need maintenance, but the most serious issue is definitely the discrimination. So if your native language isn’t English, think twice before coming here. I was planning to go to Dubai next year and stay at the Atlantis, but after this experience, definitely not anymore

Disappointing Honeymoon Stay at Atlantis Bahamas – Not Worth the Price My partner and I stayed at Atlantis Bahamas for our honeymoon, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We booked a harbour view room through Booking.com, but the room had a bad odour and visible traces of mould. We took photos and reached out to Booking.com, who said they were working with the hotel to resolve it. However, Atlantis later claimed they found no mould, despite our clear photo evidence — which felt dismissive and frustrating. To make things worse, several of the main water slides were closed for maintenance, something we were not informed about before arrival. For such an expensive resort, you’d expect full transparency about major facilities being unavailable. Speaking of cost, everything at the resort is extremely overpriced. The main buffet is $70 per adult, plus tip, tax, and drinks — so meals add up quickly. Many of the staff also came across as rude or indifferent, rarely saying “please” or “thank you,” even when you’re spending so much. Overall, this was not the honeymoon experience we hoped for. Between the mould issue, the high prices, the lack of communication, and the poor service, we wouldn’t stay here again. It’s especially disappointing that the hotel denied the mould issue when we have clear proof it existed.

This was a dream location for our son. He wanted to come here to go down the leap of faith. Of course we wanted to relax, spend some time in the warmth, and swim in the ocean. Leap of Faith was everything he hoped it would be. Backing up though. We took a taxi from the airport and had a great experience, got some history, places to visit, and some great conversation. Really helped to be stress free and finally get into vacation mode. Check in also was easy and got our metal water bottles to reuse at water fill stations. The room also was great and we were lucky enough to get a ocean view. Couple things I would recommend. Don't be afraid to leave the resort. We went to the pirate museum, conservation location to dance with flamingos, and to the famous fish fry. Again used taxis to get around with no issues. We also did some shopping near the cruise ship port. Finally food is expensive on the island, budget for that, expect minimum of $20 a person per meal. Overall this was exactly what we were looking for. A relaxing trip enjoying the water park, the ocean, and some local sight seeing. For once it was a vacation were it seemed time slowed.
