The Royal Biscuit

Avery was our server, she was very personable and attentive. We enjoyed a variety of breakfast items. Can’t wait to dine here again, recommended to all.

The Royal Biscuit is what I would call the epitome of local breakfast/lunch joint. You can grab a seat pretty quickly and get served at a decent rate. The atmosphere was a little plain in terms of decor. The dining room also featured exclusively Christian music, which is fine but it does set an atmosphere. My server did a good job taking care of us today and I don’t have any qualms with the service. The menu offers many choices, which is a plus. My wife’s California Scramble came out looking a little differently than we expected, it also took a good splashing of Pace salsa which slightly overwhelmed the plate. My French toast was good, and was recommended by my server. The eggs and sausage patties were fine, but not exactly hot when they reached the table. We ordered a Royal Cinnamon Biscuit which was also fine. It was very sweet and the center had a soft texture which was interesting with the flaky biscuit. I was able to detect quickly that the biscuit itself wasn’t heated, but the syrup/icing was, resulting in a dessert that missed the mark. I could see it being fine for locals that want a nearby breakfast, but overall it missed the mark for me. I probably wouldn’t be inclined to return.

We recently visited Oak Grove on a camping trip and nearby was the town of Blue Springs. This is where we found this great place to eat breakfast. Read good things about it online. Parking lot was full when we got there and the place was packed. All good signs. We were seated right away. The service was excellent and fast. Especially for as busy as they were. The food was typical breakfast place food but it was excellent. We will definitely be back!

We Love eating at the Royal Biscut! The atmosphere is always positive and friendly. It is always clean! The decor is very comfortable. They have breakfast and lunch and the prices are great!

Our server didn’t have very good listening skills. I asked for a pecan pancake, when the food came out; it was just a plan pancake. Also asked for an extra napkin it took me asking 2 times before I got one. The hash browns weren’t very good. My eggs were cold fairly quick. My husband had an omelet and all the ingredients were on the top instead of inside. The biscuit was good. Both of us have felt ill since we ate here

Had the opportunity on New Year’s Day to check out a local breakfast joint here in Blue Springs, the Royal Biscuit Breakfast and Dinner restaurant. I came in with my five year old son who loves biscuits and gravy. We were sat promptly and my son (who loves biscuits and gravy), ordered the Biscuits and Gravy! Boy was he in for a treat. The gravy was filled with sausage bits, which is our favorite. Watery gravy is not for our family! I had eggs and hash browns with my biscuits and gravy. It was a great breakfast and we enjoyed the atmosphere and my son remarked that it was the best biscuits and gravy he’s had since our visit to Alabama last year. Will be returning.

What a wonderful place to have breakfast. Food was hot and well prepared. Staff was it's very friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable. Overall five stars for sure.

What a great find. This place was spotless and the food terrific. We have found our new favorite breakfast spot. We liked the Truman (biscuits and gravy with fried potatoes) and the spicy El Paso omelet. Price was fair, service very good, and the place was so very clean. We will be back soon.

Went on a Sunday morning with my son. It is a smaller location with a diner type vibe, but very clean. There was a wait, but we got sat fairly quickly. My son LOVES cheeseburgers and was happy they had them. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and it was very good. His kids cheeseburger was huge, and honestly so good. The food was out fast, and was hot. I forgot a picture this time, but will for sure be back! I am always glad when I find new local gems like these through Yelp. Don't sleep on this great place!

This place is my husband and I's new favorite place for breakfast. It is one of those casual places that makes you feel like family. Our waitress Brooklyn was amazing and easy to talk to. One of my favorite things was that they have large coffee cups. I hate when you go somewhere for breakfast and you get a tiny coffee cup that needs a refill after every couple of sips. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. We each got an omelette with hashbrowns, which were good on their own, but then there are the biscuits. I have been to other breakfast places that are known for their biscuits and theirs do not come close to comparing to the Royal Biscuit's. They are tender and so buttery.

I just spent $60 for three of us on virtually inedible food. The server we had forgot we existed and took forever to take our order. She held up a wall really well though! The food was at best average and at worst flavorless gruel. There is Italian sausage in the loaded sausage omelet. The toast was half toasted and since the wall needed holding up no refills on the coffee from our server. Not a problem though the coffee tasted like brown water. I really miss that $60.

I have visited twice for breakfast in the last couple of weeks. I can still tell you they make customer service and satisfaction a priority. The food is still great. I had the farmers scramble and the Italian scramble, both with a biscuit and gravy and side of bacon. I will continue to recommend!!! Thank you for being a shining star in the Blue Springs community!

Good food! Great service! Make sure to ask for Shelby as your waitress. She's the best! Small place but sometimes those are better right?! Will definitely go back

My men's Bible group met on Tuesday morning at 6:30 am and Jose had a table already reserved for us. First time visit. Food was wonderful. I ordered the stuffed sausage omelet, which was covered in thick sausage gravy with an order of hashbrowns. Service was prompt and friendly. When I arrived back home, I was in a slight food coma from the delicious food and took a nap. LOL i will be back at the Royal Biscuit soon.

1st time eating at this establishment and the I didn't waste time ordering a great breakfast. The service was good and it was a quiet morning with light music playing.

Very good food! Hearty portions and no fuss when I wanted to make a substitution not listed on the menu. No aftertaste of rancid grease at all. Thanks so much for a great meal

This place isn't too bad if you are looking for a non-chain breakfast place, and like to go to those little small hole-in-the-wall places for breakfast. Typically, those unpretentious places are the town flavor; however, this may not be so. I did have their biscuits and gravy, but thought that Big Biscuit has better gravy. The gravy here is a bit too creamy and their biscuits weren't the sort of fluffy texture that one desires when eating biscuits and gravy. The other breakfast items were typical, such as the other party had scrambled eggs, sausage and a pancake, which were all good to eat.

The food here is good, but expensive ! Hope this helps. I won't be going back since they usually bring me something I didn't order.

Oh my gosh!!! This BBQ burger! It was wonderful!!!! One of the best burgers I have ever had! Definitely recommend if you are in the area! The staff is amazing too! So sweet and awesome! Seems like one big family!

If you love mom and pop cafe's with no frills, then this place is for you! Gigantic coffee mugs with endless coffee refills, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, hash browns. I mean, is it even possible to go wrong? I love places where the waitresses have regular customers and knows them by name. Truly a Blue Springs staple and a special place! If you're looking for breakfast, you can't go wrong here!

Service was good. Cozy atmosphere. Food came out fast and was tasty! Would recommend if you're in the area.

We are new in town and this is just down from our home. we tried this place for the first time, and was pleased. Food was good, service was good and will be back for sure.

I've taken my mom there several times and I love their food. We've had breakfast there. And lunch! The people that work there are so darn suite and I love the cozy atmosphere!

The first time I went there I wasn't even expecting to be a lot of food. The service was amazing and employees were very friendly with my family. I really recommend going there everyday burrito grande is my favorite meal.

Really busy a little too crowded but the food was good and service was friendly. Definitely our new go to for breakfast in the area we just might try it to go next time.

This place is just awful! I have no idea who is reviewing and giving 4-5 stars to this dump. I witnessed a server stick his hands into a big jar of sliced strawberries, and then pop them into his mouth. He did this several times. That is is just a customer service announcement to those who like strawberries on their waffles. This place is terrible. Terrible service and terrible food. Awful!

Wow! Fast, friendly service with classic comfort-style and healthy breakfast options! I ordered a California skillet with salsa, avocado, onions and green peppers. It was fresh and flavorful! My boyfriend had pancakes which he described as "unbelievably fluffy." I could hear an employee or maybe an owner greeting regulars as old friends. This is a place to become a regular!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I also appreciate the diverse staff.

This spot is amazing! Very friendly staff, really good food that is made fresh and then served quickly. I've never been disappointed here. Very clean establishment. You should give it a try. It's never busy as I think this is a hidden gem.

We almost missed this little gem of a diner. With a small sign and not knowing the area we stumbled on it. Excellent service, wonderful food, clean and friendly. Highly recommend

It didn't look open, but we stopped anyways. To be fair, I'm a restaurant snob (greasy spoons not excluded) and an old fan of the predecessors Betty's and Sandy's, so was sad to see there was no pie case. The next thing that i noticed was the blaring polarizing Christian music station. I'm respectful of everyone else's beliefs and expect the same courtesy. Booth wasn't overly comfortable and table was in need of stabilizers. Idk, maybe it was my "retired drug dealer" hat or my freckles, but the cooks staring from the kitchen was a bit awkward. Like, can't you let me eat with gravy rolling down my chin privately please? Biscuits aren't great, tastes like a basic hospital cafeteria breakfast. Take em back to Sysco and talk to Hardee's

Royal Biscuit, where you are treated like royalty from the moment you walk in! I had a wonderful experience eating here. They were friendly, and quick to seat and greet me. The restaurant was well kept and clean, the music was positive and encouraging, and the food was fresh. I ordered the "Big Salad" which came with fresh strawberries, and grilled chicken. You could tell the cook spent his time on this dish. Go check out Royal Biscuit! I think it's one of the best diners in Blue Springs, and it will be even better when you see it for yourself.

Decided to give this place a try , the smell inside should of been enough to make us turn back around, the biscuits were very hard and the gravy didn't taste good at all! Was very disappointed, my husband had the chicken fried steak and he didn't really care for his either .

We began eating at Royal Biscuit during the pandemic at the recommendation of another restaurant owner in town. I can't believe we hadn't eaten here before. Eating breakfast here leaves me full for the entire day. Portions are generous and everything we've had has been delicious. I especially like the garden scramble. The owner and his wife are delightful people.

We had noticed this place a few days before and thought we'd give it a try. We're always looking for new restaurants. This place is a gem! It was early Sunday morning, so not crowded. Christian music playing softly in the background, (which was a nice change from the more common oldies at most places), but whether it was because of Sunday or their normal selection, I don't know. Always hard deciding what to choose from the menu, and this had plenty to choose from! I opted for the French Toast, while my husband chose an egg combo with hash browns and waffle. My French Toast was delicious (yes, you can screw that up!) and my husband said his "eggs over easy" were cooked to perfection. A feat that, apparently, is not easily mastered in the restaurant business. He said his waffle, other than not being quite crispy enough... but on him, as he forget to specify when ordered... tasted great! All in all, this place is terrific! Our first visit anyway. We were seated quickly, our waiter was very friendly and responsive throughout, and the food came quickly and arrived hot! We'll be trying lunch within the next week or so and am hoping to have another raving review. If the Royal Biscuit can continue their great food and service, I would sure hope they'll be around for a long time!

New breakfast lunch spot in old Sandy's location. Renovated and clean. All the plates I saw were huge portion. I had the sausage omelette with biscuits and gravy. It was very good and I only made it through about half the plate it was so much. Highly recommend trying this spot.

So, today was primary election and I voted and got out very quickly. Having extra time, I decided to stop at the Royal Biscuit and grab breakfast to go. Last time I had visited it was quite good and I'd been thinking of the farmers scramble my wife had and that I'd finished off. I arrived at 6:45am (Open at 6:30am) and ordered farmers scramble with biscuit and side of gravy. Unlike a month ago, this was not a great experience. Biscuit was very dense and moist instead of light and fluffy. Gravy had obviously been made with leftover sausage because the sausage chunks were super chewy. The scramble itself, well... the cook has seen better days. Eggs were over good and you could see the scorch marks in some areas and it just did not have a good taste. I toughed out about half and then gave the rest to my dogs. They really appreciated them. Hoping this experience was because I caught them right when they opened and maybe they had not gotten their routine down for the day. I'll try another time later in the morning and hope for better.

Food with taste! Service was prompt. Price and servings make this a good spot to get your grub on!

This was my first time to eat here. The restaurant was very clean and all of the staff were very nice and attentive. I had breakfast and when I ordered hash browns, she asked me how I wanted them, crispy....with onions and peppers.... cheese.. Nice touch. The biscuits and gravy were very good. My coffee cup, and this is a big deal with me, never got less than half empty before someone was there filling it up. Great job!!! I will definitely be going back.

Horrible!!! Ice tea tasted like coffee. Sausage gravy was runny with chunks of link sausage in it. Food was not hot. Will not go back.
