The Royal Hotel Mornington & Walter’s Dining Hall

Had a great lunch at Walters Restaurant at the Royal Hotel. We ordered the Yum Cha menu and the food was yummy and plentiful. The waitress we had made the experience 5 star. She was so helpful and kind. I came with my mum and her friends and as they are a bit older, needed extra cushion for comfort and not sinking into couch. They also wanted warm water to drink instead of cold water... The waitress was completely able to take care of them and nothing was too hard for her. This type of great service makes you want to go back again!

Visiting Mt Martha from Adelaide Taken to the Royal by a local. The atmosphere, service and food was excellent. A real treasure for locals and visitors alike. I wish I was living closer, would be a regular customer. Looking forward to returning on my next trip ☺️ 😊 😀

While it looks a bit shabby from the outside, the room itself was fantastic. The king room is large, beautiful and well appointed. The tub and shower are very enjoyable and the view is very hard to beat. Watching the sunset over the bay from the balcony is incredible. We ate once in the restaurant downstairs, the staff were courteous, the food basic but delicious. The only issue we had during our stay was that the music from the bar downstairs filtered up to the room, but it is confined to their operating hours which were about 1130-2130. All in all, we'd stay there without hesitation.

Had a fantastic experience at Walter’s Dining Hall last week! Our server was Eilish who brought great vibes and we all had a good laugh with her. The food was exceptional and cocktails truly incredible. Will 10000% be back and have told at least 5 meal about the amazing experience this past week. Thank you for such a great time!

There were 8 of us having a meal out on a Friday night. We had a great time. Food was amazing and very good table service. Everyone very friendly and we bought raffle tickets for the RCH. Lovely to go home with the meat tray and a bottle of Shiraz! Thank you!

We had a group lunch for 9 friends. The food, service and room were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We have been to The Royal many times and we are always happy to go back.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Walter’s recently. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was sensational. We thoroughly enjoyed the pop of flavour of the Fingerlime pearls in the kingfish ceviche, the sweet, crunchy eggplant dish and the fresh papaya salad. It was also wonderful to enjoy an alcohol- free drink that wasn’t simply sugar filled soft drinks. 10/10 for the glassware too! We will definitely be back very soon!

Best venue in Mornington for fine dining or casual meals or long sessions in the garden. Food is so reliable, everything on the menu is well conceived and well made.

I a way this pub was rather fancy, but it really did come across as being one of those places that, well, certainly has some charm about it. I guess it stands out as being one of the original pubs in Mornington. It was certainly quite a large pub, and the service was pretty good as well, though it certainly didn't stand out as being a favourite. Still, it certainly does its job, it does have some nice beers, and the staff a rather pleasant as well.

The food was pricy but worth every cent I even left a tip! I highly recommend this to any one who is willing to drive away or I you live here you are super lucky.

Great location, food and ambience (hotel becomes restaurant). Service is the weak element which you would think would be fixable but has been consistent over our five visits. Concise menu and offer, it does not amaze you but gives you what you expect. Worth supporting though. Get service right and its a 4 star rather than 3.5.

Great location, but unfortunately very weak service. The menu is pricey, and you won't find anything remotely healthy. The place looks amazing and again, the beach view is unbeatable.
