There is not much more one can say about this stately hotel than one word : perfection. It’s old worldly original with decor that feels colonial but oh so comfortable. Staff is amazing friendly and always smiling. Beds are soft comfortable, spaces clean and that front stoep legendary. It’s my happy place.

Had to go, just so we could say we'd sat on the longest stoep south of he Limpopo!|Reallg glad we did. We were really well looked after by our server Rita . Rita recommended a citrusy gin and tonic. Excellent. Had to have two to be |sure ......|The food was delicious especially my lamb Satay Kambing which was outstanding.|The hotel itself is well worth a visit. The staff are friendly and excellent, especially Rita who made sure we enjoyed our evening. Thanks Rita. A visit here is a must when you are in RK.

Awesome! the King Suites are fabulous! .. Food and service is excellent and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Great spot to host a birthday celebration with friends or simply spend a quite romantic weekend away. Just 90 mins from Cape Town. Wine and olive farms, lots of small speciality stores.

Within an hour from Cape Town with ample farm stalls en route for coffee and light meals is the town of Riebeek Kasteel. And of course the Royal Hotel.|Not sure about previous reviews on service levels as we had EXCELLENT service. And great surprises like free coffee and hot drinks during our stay as well as daily complimentary scones and tea in the afternoon. This definitely is the epitome of serving guests well. |Management is very present but as the team they work so well together its hard to guess who this person is. We turned this into a game to identify the manager as it became a fun game. The lady who checked us in and served our first complimentary scones was the person. No airs and graces just simple good hospitality and great comaraderie among the staff. |Rooms very cosy with great working air cons and heated towel rails. |Fancy a coffee in the room - just order and within minutes it arrives. No charge. Wow!|The highlight though was a great recommendation to dine at the restaurant affiliated to the Hotel. A little French themed bistro. Very unassuming until you look around. No restaurant I have ever visited in the entire South Africa has all the Sadie family wines on offer. ALL!!! (Its a big deal and try buy just a simple bottle and see how big a deal this is) The wine list is curated spectacularly. Beyond world class. Definitely impresses to find this level of sophistication in a tiny cafe in a small town in the veneyards and wheatfields of the Swartland. And then you dine and the food is again world class. Yummy with a capital Y. And again simpy great service. |Lots of surprises and wow moments staying at the Royal Hotel. |Staff definitely best experience followed by the experiences we enjoyed at the Hotel mostly related to Food and Beverage. |Love our stay. Plan to return.

Beautiful old world hotel with nice and clean amenities. The long veranda is lovely to sit at and relax. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only issue is the rooms facing the veranda absorbs all the noise from the people sitting on the veranda talking and laughing. But it did quiet down when we went to sleep. The breakfast was delicious.
