We went for a drink and Sunday lunch in the Royal Valentia today. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Michelle, Karen, Grainne, Brid and Sandra were just the best. We had the roast beef with all the trimmings which was delicious - well done chef's. Food is a little pricey but a lovely remote spot on Valentia Island and a little gem to have a cosy romantic lunch. Sit by the fire and chat to the locals or stroll by the seafront!!

Staying here was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is old but clean and full of character. The location is so beautiful and peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful you couldn’t fault the service. Breakfast was delicious and the dinner was exceptional. The food is fresh, plentiful and good value for money.||I would return for the food alone.

Excellent property steeped in history. Enjoyed the stay. The staff are wonderful. Location is right in front of the port. The lighthouse nearby is picturesque. The food and drinks were excellent. Tips are only accepted in cash so if you’re a tipper, recommend keeping cash on you.

We had a delicious lunch here in August. The setting was beautiful sitting outside at the front garden of the hotel. Scampi was perfect, melt-in-the-mouth. Home made chips were delicious, toastie and fries were good. Would definitely return.

My friend and I stayed there for 3 days as our beginning point to visit Kerry and Dingle area. Although old, it has everything you need, rooms are not very spacious, but the bathroom is modern and with all the facilities. Situated by the harbour, you are close to the nice walking by the sea. We’ve also had dinner there, and it was very good! The breakfast is including, you get large irish one, all kind of cereals. The only minus was for the not so nice salami and cheese you can get if you don’t fancy irish breakfast. Would come again!

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night but wish we had booked more, a gem of an experience, an amazing welcome by the receptionist, fabulous staff in the bar and restaurant and, the food was some of the best that I have tasted. A quaint hotel that was housing quite a few out of county visitors, nothing was a problem for the staff. I would certainly recommend this as a quiet getaway.

Just spent 2 nights in Royal Hotel Valentia. Lovely place to stay, great location and food excellent. Staff were very helpful and made our visit all the more enjoyable. So much to do on the Island and nearby. Brid, at reception really helped with planning walks and recommendations for where to visit. We had a lovely room facing out to sea and the bed was very comfortable. Recommend a visit to Royal Hotel Valentia....will definitely be back

Very good hotel, stayed for two nights. There is limited hospitality options in the area so you do need a good hotel. Food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner with some outdoor seating looking over the sea. Normal menu with specials available each day. Good buzz in their bar, decent choice of beers, pale ale on tap, lovely coffee. Room had enough overspill space for cases. Comfortable bed, toiletries provided, lots of free parking ardoun the hotel. Handy for Skellig as long as you have a car - 10min drive into Portmagee. Friendly team of staff generally. Would return.
