Caution: this photo is from the restaurant called Alba cross the road from this place. And I don’t have current photo of what they served me as I didn’t have time to take pics. Alba charges 44bucks for steak of 250g. And this place charges 42bucks for the same size steak with chips. Unfortunately this place has significantly substandard. Meat was way too thin to cook medium rare that I requested. Definitely not worth 42bucks in any aspect. Mine last night came out as medium well if that(no pink bit), too thin, any chef couldn’t make medium rare with that thickness. I have never returned food back to the kitchen in my life but I had to. The management gave me free of charge after cooking again for me, however my friends all finished their dinner by the time my meal came out. I took it home in the paper container. Ruined my dinner and I won’t come back for dinner here. Good place for beer though. A lot of room to improve.

Visited the Royal for drinks many times, today we stopped off and grabbed a bit to eat. Chilli squid was drenched in paprika, deep fried to death. Chips in the peri peri chicken were also coated in paprika. Manager was very apologetic and a refund was offered. Service was solid, only the food was unacceptable. We will still come back.

We did the private dining room experience, 10 people. 2 courses, $65. Exceptional value. Point of difference was the table service and ordering drinks; guests paid for each drink with the eftpos terminal at the table. Avoiding splitting the bill at the end of the night was the best.

The Royal Perth has a fantastic rustic atmosphere with unique decor that gives it real character. It’s the kind of place that feels both cozy and lively, perfect for a relaxed meal or a few drinks. Food The French Dip was phenomenal—hands down the best I’ve ever had. The beef was rich and flavorful, and the freshly made flatbread was the perfect pairing. A flawless 5/5. The Caesar Salad also impressed. My wife, who takes her salads seriously, said it was the best she’s ever had. The dressing was well-balanced, and the crunch was just right. Her only critique? A bit more egg would have made it perfect. Still, an easy 5/5. Drinks The beer selection was good, but for an English-style pub, I expected more variety, including some classic UK options. Most choices leaned Australian, which is fine but left me wanting more. Solid, but 4/5. The peach cocktail was a hit. A perfect balance of sweet and sour with just the right amount of gin to give it a nice kick. A strong 4.5/5. Overall Amazing food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Just a little more beer variety, and it’d be perfect. 4.5/5.

Had a wonderful lunch here, served by a lovely young Brazilian lady behind the bar, she was so patient and pleasant as we asked about the various items on the menu. We had the steak special, it was superb and really good value! Highly recommend and look forward to returning!

Had a relaxed lunch and drink at The Royal recently and really enjoyed the whole setup. The building has that restored heritage feel—lots of exposed brick and polished timber—but it still feels approachable and comfortable. The menu has all the usual favourites but done with a bit more care than your average pub. I went for the chicken schnitzel and a pint, both arrived quickly and were well presented. The staff were friendly and switched on, even during a busy lunch service. There’s a mix of indoor and balcony seating too, which made it a great spot to people-watch from above. Definitely a good go-to in the city when you want something casual but still a step up from the usual.

Excellent venue! We came here before a footy game and the atmosphere was brilliant and the food even better. The pizza's were amazing and my partner literally won't shut up about the hot honey pizza. The staff were truly brilliant and were so nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend and we'll absolutely be coming back here again.

We had a fantastic meal last night at The Royal in Perth. Great steak which was the special on a Thursday. Darren was our waiter and he was just fantastic.. from service to his recommendation of the Red wine. We sat out on the balcony watching the rain come in and the heaters on. So cosy! Great service, food and ambiance all round! 10/10 from us.

Yelp
A nice venue in the city and close to Perth RAC arena. The upstairs bar is very efficient. We ordered king prawn salad and beer battered snapper to share. Took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive on a Thursday evening. The food this evening was really mediocre unfortunately. My husband ordered Beer battered snapper which of course he didn't mind but I didn't think it was that great. A bit flavorless and soggy. The King prawn salad was just a bit strange. It looked like they threw In yesterday's leftovers because there were some cold limp rice noodles mixed in that was not listed on the menu. Very underwhelming and for the prices here I guess I expected more. We have been here for a weekend lunch one other time a couple years ago and I recall it being much better. The building itself is very old and well-restored. The bar staff are friendly enough. The food was just average though.

Yelp
Lower the music so we cam actually hear ourselves thinking. Food was really expensive (80 aud for 2 drinks and 2 burgers!!! Heck i could have eaten better and cheaper in LA for that price ) Quality was average.... 'been to real Pubs in England (1 of them 400 years old and still in business in Exeter...) Anyway, don t waste your time and money in there!
