"Thanks to the green-thumbed loving ofowner Robert Johnstone, the Ruined Garden has bloomed into a jungly paradise—a welcome retreat both for lunch in the shade on a sunny afternoon and for a bask in the glow of a roaring wood firein the red-brick dining room as days get cooler. Johnstone has long been celebrated locally for his deeply authentic approach to Fassi cooking, andthe menu features some hard-to-get traditional dishes like slow, spit-roasted-lamb mechoui (order a day in advance) and Sephardic saffron chicken with eggs. He doesn't limit himself to tradition, though: Try reimaginings of traditional Fassi street food like "popcorn" makuda (potatofritters), succulent chicken wings and livers in a delicately spiced onion confit, or earthy berkoula (a foraged green wilted with olive oil and preserved lemons)."

A beautiful spot to enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine in Fes: The setting is stunning—you dine right in the middle of a lush garden, creating a calm and unique atmosphere. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Prices are slightly higher than other places, but the quality and experience make it worth it. They’re also happy to pack up any leftovers to take away. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash, so come prepared. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a special meal in Fes.

Very beautiful and exotic garden. Definitely a unique place, especially in the old town. They give a compliment in the beginning- a small dip and a bread. It’s a little pricey, but it worth the money. Totally recommend it.

After the hassle and bustle of the narrow street of the Medina, this was a wonderful find. It's a calm oasis in the ruins, very simply done with lots of greenery. The food is very good and filling. Really chilled out here with a coffee After lunch and some good background music. Good price and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

A cool spot to grab a coffee and tea. Lots of locals tried to convince us to go to their mothers place to eat instead or told us this place was closed but we got here. We were able to chill with the turtle amd take a break before heading back into the medina maze.

We had lunch here right after they open, so wasn’t too busy and managed to get a table instantly. A nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good service, food was quite good (we tried the sardine and chicken tagines) and is at a reasonable price point.

Cute little place with nice garden feels. This place doesn't accept cards. Cash in either MAD or Euros are accepted. We tried soup of the day which was zucchini soup, it was quite good. Besara soup was a bit bitter for our palatte. Moroccan trio salade was quite good. The vegetarian pastilla was very good. The outer layer was light and crispy and the vegetable fillings was quite good. Thanks to the person who took our order, he suggested pastilla instead of the briwat which were planning to order as this one is much bigger if we are sharing. And both the dishes are quite similar from a taste profile. Vegetarian tagine was also good. The deserts were amazing!! Figs and dates cake which was heavenly. Along with dates and figs it had almonds, walnuts and almond flour to bind them. One of the best cakes I have eaten so far. Other cake was chocolate cake with prunes and apricots which was very nice.

Beautiful garden. Food is tasty and in good portion. We sat at the corner and the flies were a bit bothersome.

The food reviews were mixed in our group. I liked the lamb tajine, but others in the group weren't impressed by the food. The place looked very green and nice, we also had cats to keep us company.
