I booked through Trip Advisor and was expecting a decent experience. I had planned to stay 4 nights but checked out after one. Firstly, this is no hotel. It is an overpriced rundown motel. I arrived at reception and was rudely asked to check myself in at a kiosk positioned at the desk. I drove over to my room and noticed the exterior and windows were dirty and the mattress was sagging and lumpy. There was no decor, no art on the walls as shown in photos. I had to rush out for an event but upon return the horror show began. Please see my many photos. The room was disgustingly dirty and in disrepair. The floor had not been vacuumed or swept and crud had accumulated in the corners. The fiberglass shower/bath was stained and worn. Some rigged switches in the bathroom left the outlet open. Broken tile, damaged door, makeup (?) on hairdryer and mirror. The overhead lights flickered so I went to turn on a dusty lamp and the shade fell apart. Ants, flies, dirty air conditioner. I doubt this room would pass code. At least the sheets and towels looked clean. ||I have no idea what the “concept” facilities are like, as I couldn’t wait to get out. At check out, I was greeted by the property manager who seemed blissfully unaware of the state of my room. This motel is a rip-off. |Don’t stay here!

We stayed at The Sage Hotel last night and had a great experience. The room was very neat and clean. Good supply of toiletries. The TV controller was even in a plastic wrapper - you know how filthy those things can get….||And the price was very reasonable. In addition, the hotel was close to downtown square and shopping at the galleries. We would definitely stay here again!

I had five rooms reserved for a family event. When I reserved the rooms, weeks in advane I asked the rooms be in the same proximity. Upon check in I was told rooms were close. As family made their way in the rooms we were promised were given away. I was told to wait until 4 to check in. Several people checked-in in front of me. When I asked staff about the discrepancy they simply shrugged in differently. We went to this location because of its proximity to the plaza and affordability to allow family extra money to see as much as Santa Fe as possible. We have stood here before and never have I had such a disappointing experience as this. One of my guests received keys to room under construction. Front desk acted like it was my guests fault. When I asked to speak to a manager the staff placated my concerns and I never got to have the conversation with a manager. I doubt I will ever be back. Next time I will spend the extra money on a hotel whose ratings aren't so obviously bad.

Stayed here on our way to Colorado for a long move. Pretty good location, not super walkable but close enough. Staff was super friendly and kind. Breakfast was good. Rooms left a lot to be desired, uncomfortable beds, not great privacy, all the outlets are covered by furniture, etc. Not a super expensive hotel, so didn’t expect much. Very good for short stays but would not book for longer than a few days.

There is a reason whey this place had availability over Indian Market weekend! The location is pretty good—walkable to the Railyard and the Plaza, if you are an active person. The staff was nice enough. But an average of $500 per night for what is really an aged motel that has not been renovated in decades, if ever. The bathroom was less than clean and had leaky faucets, the HVAC was loud and not terribly effective, and the room furnishings were sad. The mattress was comfortable enough though. No housekeeping service was provided and we had to stop by the lobby to get fresh towels. Just don’t go there!

Google
Best aspects - Shuttle to square, okay value versus center square properties. Food with the exception of breakfast was good. Worst aspects - Barking dog left alone in room next to us checking in. Only other room available was queens much nearer the road and noise. Ground floor can hear the room upstairs clearly - another guest at check-in insisted on a second floor room and I can see why. Bartender at restaurant insisted on slamming empty bottles into trash - sounded like a bomb going off. Breakfast mediocre. The room we were in had a bathroom door that looked like it had been chewed by a dog and poorly repaired. More like a 2 or 2.5 star.

Google
Absolutely disgusting! Motel 6 is better! I arrived exhausted (the only reason I did not leave immediately) to find a room where the wall outlet panels are falling off the walls, there are hairs in the sheets (which are also stained) from a previous guest, the door deadbolt is being held on with spackle, and the bathroom is something that I will no go into bare foot. And also the air conditioning only marginally works. I will not be sleeping under the sheets and am glad I brought my own pillow. I just hope it doesn't come away with bed bugs! (All other fabric is being kept off the floors and within my suitcase!)

This is a cheap motel masquerading as a $200/night boutique hotel. The pool is literally the size of a hot tub. You have to check in electronically and even make your own key. The TV was temperamental, and I asked them to come look at it. Later it seemed fixed and my kiddo was sick and felt awful. I called and told them to please NOT send anyone because my kiddo would be sleeping. They ended up coming anyhow and knocking on the door. I was on the phone with the doctor and shouted PLEASE DON'T COME IN several times then retreated to the bathroom where I was on the phone. The guy bust in with a key, really freaking my kid out. It's also located on a super busy road, so doesn't feel very nicely walkable. You can hear every step your neighbors take, every conversation, and if they have the TV on.||Honestly, this is really expensive for what you get. Just stay at a motel and save your money for a real boutique hotel.

Yelp
This is a tale of 2 rooms. My first stay was the 7th of Feb and the room on the 1st floor was great. It may have been recently remodeled. The 107, for one king bed, included a pretty good breakfast & wifi. On the 13th, an approaching snowstorm caused me to change my plans. I left the evening before my planned departure and opted to spend the night in Santa Fe. I booked with The Sage again and was given a room on the 2nd floor, opposite side of my last stay. This room looked nice, one king bed area, but the bathroom looked several months past its expiration date. PLUS, I kept getting whiffs of bad feet. I assumed the carpet was also past its expiration date. So, I gave it 4 stars because all-in-all it was a nice place. Even though the shower area looked old & patched, it was clean and everything worked. The first room was good enough to offset the feet smell of the carpet. Plus the staff seemed very nice & helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, and it had a restaurant & bar, which I didn't utilize on either stay.

Yelp
This was a great hotel for us! It's close to the Railyard Park and the Farmers market, which is a must do! My friend and I got 2 rooms with two queen beds. It's clean and the rooms have been updated. There is a $15 resort fee which covers the hot breakfast, which is well worth it! There is also an outdoor pool and a small fitness room. This isn't fancy but totally met our needs. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
Customer service is clearly lacking at this place. Our tv cable has gone out intermittently since we checked in and tonight it has been off all evening. The phone in Our room also doesn't work and when calling the listed # there is no answer. We went to the front desk to get more soap, shampoo and towels. They tried to give us soap that was slivered and I refused it and they also had no towels. She said she would have housekeeping bring us a bath bar snd fresh towels. We waited for several hours and then saw housekeeping walk right past our room. I had to chase him down to get what we needed.

Yelp
Do not get suckered by the photos! The website makes it look so tidy, clean, and modern. The Sage (a "concept" hotel) is anything but... The experience: 1. This hotel is obviously an old motel that has been very poorly renovated. - Walls are dirty and poorly painted - Furnishings are beaten to hell - The flooring was not installed well and there are big gaps that capture dirt and - HVAC is really old and loud - The walls are paper thin. We were on the first floor and could hear EVERY step and sneeze that happened in the room above us. Also, the random drunk people hanging out outside our room... - Lastly, there's a reason the images on the site don't show you the bathrooms... ours was definitely not touched during the renovation -- it was so gross and outdated. 2. It is the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. When we arrived, the room smelled really strongly of bleach, which would make you think it was clean... we were so very wrong. A few things of note: - Dead bugs on the desk - There was hair stuck all over the walls in the bathroom - A mysterious brown/black "stuff" was spilled all over the walls in the bathroom - Mold growing inside the shower knob - The TV remote was covered in this plastic bag that was filthy 3. The Room Amenities: - There were three flat pillows on the king-sized bed and nothing but a sheet and a thin blanket. - Towels, you get two thin towels. That's it. - There's no microwave, so you'll need to use the communal one in the lobby. It was covered in old food and human hair. - The fire alarm is mysteriously covered in a plastic bag? - They bought the cheapest TV available -- the quality if horrendous. - WIFI is super weak and unreliable. Hope you weren't trying to do any work!

Yelp
The room is alright, and the front desk people were friendly so I'll giving them the two stars for that. You gotta ask to stay away from others to have a quiet night though, I'm up at 4:35 writing this review cuz the dumfk staying above IS being so loud, walking around doing godknowswhat at this time since like 3:30. They have thin walls and you can easily hear the steps and noises. If they turned on the shower you will hear it, and if you have some oblivious annoying people upstairs, you WILL know it.

Yelp
I'd give it less stars if I could. The only decent part of our one night stay was the front desk clerk. Sorry I didn't catch her name but very accommodating and helpful. The room...Nothing like the pictures in website. Dirty floors, towels were paper thin, bath door stopper fell off while we were there and hadn't even opened the door fully, tub permanently stained and peeling. Microwave had splatter all over the interior door. Ceiling had been painted but painter left big patches of incomplete painting. Furnishings have seen better days. Exterior door gap toward bottom. Just not what we were expecting for the price. Thankfully only stayed one night.

Yelp
I really want to give this place more stars. But two many fatal flaws. First the good is that they are well located, have a Whole Foods next door; recently renovated the main units and their lobby, and the staff are super friendly. But the negatives are pretty bad. The price is excellent but they charge a non-declinable $15 per night "resort fee" despite the pool being closed in the dead of winter and the WiFi being slower than my 5g. The $15 bumps up the cost to being not so competitive and is just sneaky and ick. And to make matters worse; my room was renovated and looked great when we were entered but the bathroom hadn't and was vintage motel room 1980s. Ick. The faucets were wired backwards so right was hot. Ouch. Get rid of the resort fee and fix up the bathrooms and this would be a four or five. But stretching for a three when it should have been a two.

Yelp
There are really kind staff members here. My room was clean, the bed was comfy, and when I needed an extra washcloth, I was given one. I was only in my room to relax after walking around all day and to sleep. The room met all needed requirements. The restaurant off of the lobby is good. Nice servers there as well. They have different activities/events each night if the week. I think karaoke was on Sunday when I was there. They also have a game night, and then this blue grass band comes to play as well. Pretty cool. A lot of locals seem stop by the restaurant. Not a lot of options for the breakfast that is included with your booking.

Yelp
The room smelled like dirty laundry. The clerk came and said yuck, but there were no other rooms on the bottom floor. So she gave me a can of air freshener.

Yelp
I'm in town for a work trip and was put up in this hotel by the org that brought me out. When I checked in, the woman at the front desk apologized for my room being on the ground floor because of the noise. She recommended coming back in the morning and asking to be moved to a top floor room if it bothered me. Like another review, I was very much awake all night because of how alarmingly loud the person above me was. I asked to be moved but was told a big group was coming in today so their hands were tied. I don't know why I can't be moved before they arrive, and have someone from that group put in this room. I showed the front desk pictures of the food on the nightstand and the stained sheets, for which she did apologize and offered to send someone to change the sheets (and the totally empty toiletry bottles) but I can't say I'll have many nice things to say about this place after I leave in a few days. You can hear everything from adjoining rooms - persistent coughs, conversations, the ceiling creaking with every move the person above you makes. The person above me might even be walking normally so I don't know if it's fair to blame them, but it is LOUD. If these things might bother you, I'd recommend not choosing this hotel. Edited to add: they never changed the sheets or serviced the room :) THANKS LYDIA

Yelp
This is great! They had everything I wanted and was reasonably priced. Coffee maker, breakfast, refrigerator, an end table at each end of the bed with night lights and phone chargers, full bathtub, large sink counters, separate sink fm toilet and bath area. Honestly this placed ruled! Like it read my hotel wants. Oh yea parking & check in super easy

Yelp
A bit disappointing compared to the websites that I looked at. Felt old and dated. However for the price, if you do not need real fancy, The Sage will do its job.....give you a semi clean room to spend the night for a day or 2 .

Yelp
This place describes itself as "a dreamy bohemian retreat," but really it has the feel of a nightmarish bohemian druggie motel with lazy attempts at Santa Fe style. My wife and I were shocked at how rundown and dilapidated everything was. The front desk staff are also rude and dismissive. This place is 100% false advertising, and the guests it attracts are pretty sketchy. Also, the motel happens to be in kind of a dead zone for Internet on your phone, and the Wi-Fi at this place is slower than molasses in winter. Steer clear!!!

Leavin R.

Yelp
Upon checking in, staff not welcoming. Not an impressive place. Bathroom sink doesn't drain, unsightly patched up hole in wall, very thin blankets on the bed, no facial tissue refills. Will not be staying here again. Definitely not worth the $180 per night! Stay somewhere else.

Yelp
I've always loved the Sage. Perfect breakfast in the morning, wonderful bar. They print out the social events (which is sooo cute), and the staff is really friendly. They give you free chips and salsa at check in :) and although it's not a luxurious hotel, it's clean and perfect for 2 dogs and a cat. Walking distance from Whole Foods (which has the best meals)

Yelp
Super surprised at how nice and convenient our stay was. The rooms are really nice and updated. 95% clean. There were areas that were missed but nothing of importance. Loved they had a shuttle to take me to the downtown Plaza area. Made everything so much easier. They had a great breakfast each morning. Lots of options. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, muffins, oatmeal, sausage, bagels etc. and Robert was super nice to everyone. There is also onsite laundry that made the trip better. I traveled with my mother and my dog. We stayed in Flagstaff at a motel $10 more with no breakfast, shuttle, laundry etc. It wasn't nearly as nice. It was actually garbage in comparison. I really encourage you to stay here unless you are super super swanky type of person.

Yelp
Don't let the pictures fool you. This is not a hotel, just an old Motel 6 repainted and they threw some "native" decorations up. Rooms are dank and drabby. Bathroom is old and door kept getting stuck. No peep hole like they removed it and didn't change the door. Not as updated as they make it seem. Avoid if you are looking for something nice.

Yelp
This was a Thursday night stay for my bf and myself. I had been looking for a place in Santa Fe that had consistent, good reviews and chose this. The on sight restaurant was awesome, lovely, and very friendly with good food and drink. They also had a trivia evening that night so we stayed longer that evening. EVERYONE was very very nice and I would definitely stay here again. My only disappointment was that I called the front desk twice for extra blankets and no one ever came.

Yelp
Clean room, comfortable bed, quiet, great breakfast and friendly staff. It is close to wonderful New Mexican cuisine. I stayed for a week and used the laundry, which was perfectly adequate. The only thing I wish I had was a microwave to heat up my coffee and leftover dinner. Sabrina

Yelp
I will have to give the General Manager from Coyote South who called me to appoligize for not having a room for me at Coyote South and the inconvenience of having to be transferred to The Sage.

Yelp
My husband and I sailed into Santa Fe about 5 pm with absolutely no hotel reservations. We knew we wanted to be near the Old Town Plaza, but the hotels in the midst of it were too complicated to check out with all the cars and tourists milling about. A frantic Google search led us to The Sage Hotel. At first, we were a bit nervous. We just couldn't tell if this was going to be a good experience or a poor one. But, we got a room, and it was reasonable, especially with it being so close to the tourist area. It took a few minutes to figure out which building our room was in. We held our collective breath as we opened the door and . . . the room was very nice! We were tired, so we walked to the Social Kitchen & Bar located just off the lobby. Again, we had a nice experience. We both had Mexican food for dinner and delicious desserts. We were both happy with our meals. Now, keep in mind, this isn't a full restaurant experience, it is a nice place to have a small meal and a drink. There are events held there most evenings, including live music. There is a patio off the dining room/bar. Our night was blissfully silent and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked just fine and was quiet. The bed was very comfortable (although the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking). Our showers the next morning were hot with great water pressure. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast before checking out and heading out to do our sightseeing. We were well-rested and well-fed. If we had stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of the outdoor pool (small, but there were only two people in it on a very hot evening) and the shuttle service. If you don't plan ahead to book a room in the hotels right in Old Town Plaza, I highly recommend The Sage Hotel.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor & spend the money elsewhere - their website is extremely deceiving and it should honestly be a crime. This place is a dump. It looks like a budget inn that had a few upgrades but it's still a pretty crappy place to stay. They replaced room furniture with wooden modern looking items - nice touch, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The sink & tub look like they are still from the 70's. Water pressure was weak/bad, water did not get hot. TV is small. Lights did not work on one side of the bed. And the refrigerator was unplugged upon arrival. Towels are thin and cheaply made. They charge a daily fee for things like WiFi, parking, breakfast, and a shuttle service. Well the WiFi is slow and unreliable. Parking is fine. I did not bother trying breakfast. And the shuttle service only runs once an hour & by request only - with given how close it is to downtown, that's kind of a rip off. We did utilize the shuttle service downtown - it was late due to someone taking the shuttle keys home accidentally with them. Then when we asked about pick up service, the employee said "I get off at 3. So you better be done/call us by then" but the shuttle is supposed to run until 8PM. The employee was also playing inappropriate music from his phone while in the shuttle. There were children present and the songs were very age inappropriate. I don't have kids, and I'm a young adult, so I didn't care. But the parents seemed uncomfortable with it. They added random art in the rooms, dried chilis hanging from the ceiling, and painted the doors blue. OK. Fine, but there needs to be serious upgrades to the things that matter - showers, towels, WiFi, bed quality. Not just aesthetic upgrades. The walls are thin - you can hear people talking, walking by, etc. Pool is closed Memorial Day weekend still. This place sucks. Spend the money somewhere else.

Yelp
The Sage Hotel is a concept hotel. You can tell it's in the conception stage of hotel management because there's a lot of room for improvement. Between building A and building B is a small driveway that's a car accident waiting to happen. Yet no one in management has seen fit to address that by putting up a large mirror in the corner so drivers can see who's coming or not. Or maybe just put up a sign that says one way only. Between building B and C is another small driveway made smaller by two large PODs moving storage. Again, there are no signs if cars go one way or the other. Complimentary breakfast is okay. There are disability parking spots but no elevators. How can someone with a motorized scooter access the second floor if the entire first floor is overbooked? You're probably better off staying at budget hotels like Comfort Inn at least they take time out to paint their walls in a similar shade. Ours had spots of gray paint amidst a monochromatic beige. The two outstanding pieces of this hotel is their shuttle service (and their driver is pretty fun!) and their complimentary water.

A C.

Yelp
We chose this hotel (in reality a Motel) for the location to Downtown. Checked in and went out to dinner. Came back from dinner and went to take a shower. No hot water. Called front desk and they advised there was no hot water. I firmly believe they knew of this issue when they checked us in. The next morning they directed us to their sister hotel (again a Motel not a Hotel) This property has homeless and drug addicts circling around the property. We didn't feel safe so we chose to stay somewhere else (The Lodge at Santa Fe) What a change. The worst part of the experience with Sage Motel is that they went ahead and charged us for 2 nights. We are in the process of contacting our lawyer to recoup the charge for the 2nd night. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. DECEPTIVE AND EXPLOITIVE.

Kathy C.

Yelp
We had 2 rooms for 4 people for 9 days so we really experienced every aspect of this MOTEL. I was told it was totally remodeled and I'm not sure what their definition of remodeled is, but perhaps a new coat of paint and new carpet is it. Otherwise the rooms are musty, the tile in bathrooms is cracked, missing grout, water from shower faucet comes out yellow/orange. The lighting is terrible, there are NO DRAWERS, the beds are so-so. Also BEWARE that as this is a MOTEL with all doors on the outside the sound/noise factor is high. Also there are only STAIRS so if you're on the second floor be ready to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs. The breakfast is hit and miss, the only healthy options are oatmeal and yogurt but these items were missing half the days we were there. The cost of this place may appear to be a good deal but your expectations should be set very low. It was very disappointing and I'd never recommend this place for anyone.

Yelp
Here is the disgusting message I got from another manager at this garbage place. Couldn't even be bothered to do a quick google search to know that "bioinary" is gobbledegook and not actually a gender. Wow. Just wow. I guess I can say that their public relations training also needs some work in addition to their "diversity" training, management training, and from the looks of it damn near everything else.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, concierge was on point. Room was gorgeous. Would stay there again for sure.

Yelp
Generally, the hotel was good. The staff was welcoming when we checked in. We were surprised to see no lamps. We were woken up at 6am but a heavy pounding door pounding next door. A teenager was yelling and pounding the door because he was not let in. It was very difficult to fall asleep. We received free breakfast, which we appreciated. Ps - when the Lyft driver inputted the address, it took is to the back of the hotel. That may need to be changed.

Yelp
Gross, felt unsafe. This place is trying to sell smoke and mirrors with minor (poorly done) remod and a small gross space. The location/ property felt unsafe. The room is extremely small, barely fits a king sized bed. The safety lock didn't work and there were Bugs in the room!!! When I went to go to bed I looked over and found a bug on my pillow--ON MY PILLOW!!! Disgusting! When called front desk was put on hold for 10mins and forgotten about. I called back after being on hold for 10mins and they answered right away- no acknowledgment of their mistake or apology. You can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig (aka the sage hotel) don't bother, learn from the mistakes of others--go somewhere else!

Yelp
Cute little place. Friendly and helpful staff. They had live music and good food in the restaurant last night too.

Yelp
They let you know that they don't clean your room unless you request it. We went without housekeeping services the first night but on the second day we went by the office personally and requested it. They still didn't clean it. I called the front office and after about fifty rings they answered. I told them that no one came to clean my room, and could they please do it tomorrow. He said, "I can write it down." Gee, thanks. I'm underwhelmed. When we checked in the man was very snooty. I wanted to tell him, you work at what is basically a motel Go work at an expensive hotel and take your attitude with you.

Daryl H.

Yelp
Great location & friendly breakfast staff but definitely a budget motel. It was obvious that effort was made to freshen the place up but damp carpet, lumpy beds, non-working appliances (fridge, kureig, blow dryer) & outlets, our experience was bare bones.

Dan B.

Yelp
Very dirty hotel and terrible service. my laptop was stolen from the room. the manager Nicole did not have the professional courtesy to even call me back. We came in a big group ( wedding) and almost everyone had issues. the management team should be fired and start over.

Yelp
Stayed here for a couple of nights. The rooms are so so. Stayed at a different room each night. One room really needed remodeling, the other one was nicer and seemed to be more remodeled. What I liked about the hotel, was the staff and the location. They are very nice and accommodating. I would like to especially mention Erik, who really tried to help me get my luggage to the lobby during a downpour. He went above and beyond what most employees would do. You can't get a better location for the price. It is walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants and art galleries. It's also walking distance to The Plaza where they have special events and very close to the farmer's market. Right next door is a Whole Foods Market. They have a shuttle that takes guests downtown on the hour from 2 - 9pm, if you are not a big walker

Yelp
We made reservations for one night from the parking lot, but the room was still being cleaned, so we had to come back to pick up the room key. We payed the $91.58 we were quoted with an AMEX card and were sent a receipt; however, when I went in later to get the room key, there was a different gal at the front desk. She tried to charge us $161.25 instead of the $91.58 we had already paid. Two men came to help her figure out what the problem was. I was told my credit card had "declined"! My card has NEVER been declined. This lie along with all the others that I was being fed got my hackles up. Why do people have to resort to deceitful measures to get more money out of customers? Needless to say, we turned around and left. Beware of staying at a place who resorts to dishonest practices to get more money out of their guests. We will never stay here. I'd rather pay double and sleep at a place who values ethics and honesty over screwing the customers.

Yelp
Nothing worse than interacting with someone who hates their job, Maria at the front desk has horrible people skills. The bathroom stunk It was noisy with construction The place is a nicely painted dump Tourist trap for sure . Go somewhere else, I should have brought a bed bug bomb to be on the safe side. Read the other reviews before booking.

Yelp
Best staff ever! I work at the local hospital and needed to book one night after a long day of work. Heather noticed my scrubs and badge and went out of her way to make me a new, way cheaper reservation at the first responder rate. Was pleasantly surprised - the rooms were modern and clean and perfect. This place definitely earned my business while on contract in Santa Fe!

Yelp
I am writing this while in a room at The Sage. I had a lot of noise last night and this morning from upstairs as the floors are thin and creaky. Beyond the noise issues in this older, glossed over hotel I can say the following are not good: - small, stiff pillows - dim overhead lighting and no lights at all next to the bed. none. - sink faucet looks to be a vintage 1970s model. Loose handle, stiff to move. - ants running around the sink - unknown brown smear on the outside of the bath - rude front desk I just walked up to the front desk to ask for a nicer, quieter room and the guy there told me he was busy and that I'd have to come back in a few hours. He just wanted to tell me about how much accounting he had to do, how many people were checking out/in, etc, etc, and basically was telling me that he had no time to take care of my concerns at the moment. Well, I can't hang around - I've got appointments. I stayed here a few years ago and it was nice. Apparently the rooms remodel and clean up has worn off, along with a move to a bitter, uncaring front desk staff

Yelp
Great pictures in booking.com. Crappiest hotel ever. It is an old Budget inn hotel with outside hallways. They think that few pictures on the walls and fresh paint will make it a good hotel. For $211 dollars you will think you are getting an ok place and not this piece of garbage. Horrible experience!!!

Yelp
Booked this place a few weeks in advance for a roadtrip. We stayed here two nights because we were driving and wanted convenient, free parking yet close enough that you could walk to Santa Fe's center (which takes about 15-20min). They have a self-check in/out system via email and at the front desk which is kind of cool and easy to use. However, this was immediately overshadowed by the disgusting (first) room they had put us in. First off, their advertising pictures are a lot more dressed up than the rooms actually are. Hell, there isn't even a single free standing lamp in the rooms. Only the spotlights that cover the entire room with one switch. Very weird. Also, decorations are much more sparse than advertised. They should either mention the pictures are staged, or better yet, provide accurate ones. Secondly, the room we received was in desperate need of a deep clean. There was debris on the floor, likely gravel from the parking lot. There were urine stains next to the toilet, soap scum stains on the walls of the shower, and ants everywhere in the bath tub. There were also stains on my blanket, which unless housekeeping is blind they definitely saw. I complained and got a different room that indeed looked cleaner. But it just gives you a very uneasy feeling the rest of your stay. Thirdly, although the pictures look nice, the buildings themselves are old. They only invested in cosmetic upgrades but not at all in actual refurbishments. Bathrooms and sinks could use an overhaul. As well as the windows. The seals are so worn that there is moisture trapped between them. You can also feel that moisture inside of the rooms. Even the pillows need replacing. You can tell they have put them in washing machines before because the filling was all lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. They have a bar at the front next to the reception, which can play their music quite loudly, especially if you're staying in the building closest to it. They do close at 10pm though. The hotel provides some breakfast items, of which the muffins were definitely my favorite. Overall, I would not stay here again or recommend this place to anyone that likes a clean environment. Try somewhere else!

Yelp
Dont be fooled by a nice website. This place is a dump! It is more of a motel than a hotel. Reminiscent of a Motel 6. The walls are thin and you can hear every sound from next door or above you. You park right outside your room if you can find a convenient parking spot. They list a bunch of amenities but charge you a daily fee of $15 for the breakfast buffet regardless if you eat there or not; the WIFI which was down the entire time; a gym we did not know about; the parking lot; etc. What a scam. Yes, they are convenient to downtown and pet friendly (downstairs only). Do your research! This place is a joke. 'A dreamy Bohemian retreat' it is not! A run down Motel dressed up to look nice is more like it. The 5 Star reviews here are very suspect.

Yelp
This is a motel, decently updated design-wise and with a decent breakfast spread, but still pretty bare-bones. King room bed frame squeaked. Could hear everything (conversations, tires on ice) outside our door. No table to eat a meal together, no couch, just one desk chair. Bathroom almost too small for a skinny adult to towel off. Room was passably clean and location (1 mile from plaza and 1.5 miles from awesome dog park) was decent. Did the trick, in that our last-minute trip put other hotels out of our price range, but ultimately it was disappointing. We picked it as a pet-friendly place, but there was barely any grass/gravel for dog exercise, mainly just the paved parking lot.

Yelp
Dirty Beds and More! Web information and a lot of good reviews looked promising, so opted for this one - against my own better judgment given the cost. But fear not - they have a hidden "resort" fee of $15 - and there's no resort facilities. I also hadn't seen this was a motel set up with exterior door corridor hotel. The room was basic, with a carpet design which simulates it being threadbare. Clever touch and great for the long haul. Bathroom has a dated plastic one-piece bath and shower stall, yellow with age, hardware coming away from the wall, and the faucet dripped continuously - the good news is the creature from the black lagoon didn't emerge while we were there. The main issue was the bed. It had no mattress cover, and the sheet on it was so old and thin we could see the mattress labels and pattern - and a repulsive stain - right through it (shown here uncovered). We went to front desk and asked for clean sheets and they gave us a complete set in a nice white plastic sack. We were glad they did because on closer inspection, the original sheets on the bed were all stained and dirty. Good news was the replacement sheets were clean, and not WW2 hospital surplus. We gave the bar and (limited) restaurant a try - but they said their equipment was down, so most of the menu was off. Just not our day, lol. Staff were all pleasant, and doing what they could with what is really to be a worn out motel with a coat of paint and some New Mexico themed ornaments. They called this a "Concept Hotel". And unfortunately, I have no concept of what they are trying to achieve. Based on seeing and staying in other properties while here, don't stay in anything less than $150 a night in Santa Fe.

Yelp
WiFi doesn't work, went to breakfast an hour before it closed and they were out of all hot food. Staff is unfriendly and rude. Highly recommend staying anywhere else!

Yelp
This is a private motel-style property. It's definitely an older set of buildings but it has been renovated nicely. It's quaint and clean but nothing special. I can't complain about much here. The king mattress that we slept on was in need of replacement and s few of the towels were worn and had seen their day but it was comfortable, clean and no frills. The breakfast each morning was EXCELLENT! They have some good cooks making fresh scrambled eggs with toppings including bacon bits green chilies and salsa. They also offer hot fresh sausage, biscuits, gravy, cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and my favorite make-yourself malted waffles with hot syrup. The coffee is local, New Mexican coffee made with piñon. It's a tasty coffee with a hit of toasted nut. It was FH fir a weekend but I couldn't drink it everyday. They do sell it at the front desk if you're interested. The pool is small but clean and has new towels for laying on the lounge chairs with. Again, the rooms are small and no frills but essentially comfortable and clean. I'd stay here again if I was just with my wife but with my wife and kids, I'd probably go somewhere with larger rooms for our family space. It's a nice place and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Under $100 it's good. Probably not as much of a deal above that price point.

Yelp
Currently staying here and was treated so rudely by front desk staff that I decided to write this review already and will write another one on here when this is over and hopefully it will get better but not seeing it with the staff they have on weekends. Checked in yesterday and asked for a quiet room. Was awoken all night with people walking outside my room to either staircase talking. The walls amplify the noise in this walkway since it's not facing outside. Old people on a tour staying here that were walking so freaking slow and talking away not giving a crap about anyone with a DND on their door. Go to front desk and ask if I can change rooms to be treated like I was asking for the world to be moved and coped an attitude with me about maids etc. little does this pathetic excuse for front desk clerk know that I was a hotel General Manager for over 20 years. Housekeeping can clean one room if it is moved later but no I would have to move now. Then when I said forget it the other clerk pipes with "have a great day". I could scream... So go back to my noisy room and take a shower to notice the toilet is leaking, the cleaning team never saw a previous guests wash cloth still hanging off the curtain rod, toilet rim not cleaned, and hair in the tub that does not belong to me.... Towels are paper thin. I paid via Expedia or I would leave. The only pluses has been the bartender, the front desk clerk who did check me in and a beautiful toy Aussie that was staying here. This place suxs and has no interest in making anything better for their guests. Oh and before I forget the WiFi needs improved as well.

Yelp
Jason at the front desk is a real costumer service person. Polite and helped me out with my reservation. And reminded me that breakfast was at 7:am to 10:am. What a magical place this is in winter. Snow flocked to the trees and the Sun shines warm.
