The Sails Motel - Brunswick Heads

My partner and I absolutely love staying at The Sails Motel. The recently renovated rooms are beautiful, the beds are super comfy, and the room sizes are generous. The pool is honestly one of the best parts — what other motels have a pool you can properly relax around and enjoy a beer? They also make up the rooms daily, which we weren’t expecting and was such a nice touch. The staff are so lovely, and the location is spot on. The beach is only a short walk away, along with plenty of other great cafes and spots nearby. It’s such an easy, relaxed place to stay and we always look forward to coming back.

The Sails Motel was a great stay. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of excellent restaurants and cafes nearby, and everyone we met was very friendly. The room was clean and quiet — no issues with noisy neighbours despite seeing that mentioned in other reviews. Housekeeping comes around 10am, so it’s best to put the do-not-disturb sign on the night before or be up early. The room had all the usual amenities (kettle, toaster, microwave, TV, hairdryer), all in good working order. Overall, a great location and comfortable stay. Easy base for trips to Byron Bay or even a drive out to Nimbin.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, perfectly preserving the classic motel vibe while adding a cool, laid-back feel. The service was truly 10/10, and the pool area was so quaint and relaxing. It’s within walking distance to the beach and surrounded by so many delicious restaurants, which made everything incredibly convenient. The attention to detail throughout the property was unmistakable we loved every moment of our stay and can’t wait to return.

Work drive from QLD to NSW and very late checkin. This was no issue at all for the staff. Super helpful, explained everything over the phone. Arrived, slept, and left super early; exactly what I needed this specific time. Room was spotless, new interior and appliances. 100%

A well presented motel. Overnight stay was very clean & tidy rooms . Very comfortable bed & location was walking distance to town . Local pub was welcoming with live bands & loved the food . Awesome stay.

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Lovely clean hotel with nice shampoos ect. Great position, close to everything, yummy pizza place next door with great vibes. Lovely pool area, the only thing that bothered us was the pool closed quite early, when the sun was still out.

Highly recommend! The perfect blend of contemporary design and old school motel vibes. Loved the pool area (great for parking in the sun with a book all afternoon) and the location was also top notch. Will be back!

Basic room for an overnight stay on the way to QLD. Rooms are small but fit for purpose. Pool is basic but good enough to cool down. Service was great, very friendly. Did it's job.
