The Sakley’s Restaurant & Pastry Shop is a cozy café with an awesome atmosphere. We visited in the evening for coffee and tea, and the overall experience was delightful. The ambience is warm and inviting, the café is very well maintained, and it’s also kids-friendly, which makes it perfect for families. The service was superb—prompt and courteous. We ordered masala chai, hazelnut-flavoured coffee, hot chocolate, and a few snacks, and everything was enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic time with our family. If you are in Nainital, don’t miss visiting this café. Highly recommended!

We tried a few items with mixed experiences. The cinnamon roll was good and nicely baked, making it the highlight of our visit. However, the chocolate eclairs were quite disappointing, tasted fried rather than baked, and did not feel fresh at all. The blueberry cheesecake was just okay; while the flavor was decent, the cheese felt more like cream and lacked the rich, authentic cheesecake texture. Overall, the quality was inconsistent, with one good item overshadowed by average and below-par desserts. The experience did not fully meet expectations, especially considering the variety we tried.

Really a place to spend some time I front of the Naini lake. The brand is almost 100 years old- it should focus that legacies to the travelers specially with its foods. Cakes and pastries are too good, other dishes should reach that mark. Kudos 👏 💐

A laid back cafe beside the Naini lake, this place is famous for its bakery items. Situated at the end of the Mall Road, they serve some mouthwatering cakes and pastries. They also have snack items. The cafe is not too crowded mostly which was a big plus. Overall, a perfect serene place.

I’ve always been a cinnamon roll lover and have tried them all across Europe, where they’re truly unmatched. After being disappointed at several places in India, I finally found that same soft, buttery perfection at Sankey's Nainital. They’re perfectly baked, rich in flavor, and instantly took me back to Europe. Couldn’t resist going back for another round the very same day. 😄 We also tried the chocolate brownie; it had a good flavor but was slightly dry... a bit of sauce or glaze would make it even better. Must recommended place for Cinnamon Rolls !!!!

An amazingly beautiful restaurant and patisserie, well-located near the lake and the Mallital market. The patisserie counter at the entrance is mind-blowing. I've never scene such delicious looking cakes, pastries or éclairs. The salted caramel cheesecake I ordered before breakfast was delicious. The all-day breakfast was like anywhere else, but the cappuccino, I ordered to go with it, was so good I ordered a repeat. It's a justifyingly popular place despite its metro prices. To top it all, the service is polite and discreet, unlike the frenzied bar-like service at Luckies next door. There's an aircon which keeps the interiors cool, a bend to the global warming that is affecting mountain towns and cities. There's a pretty, patterned tile floor, but what is most impressive is a small picture gallery of Nainital of olden times, when it was called Nayneetal by the Brits. Some prints go back a 150 or more years. It absolutely enhances the ambience of this 81-year old, graceful restaurant. The food is pricey, but do try the scrumptious desserts, which are substantial, absolutely freshly baked and unlike anything you'll find down in the plains, or at least not the same quality.

Sakley's at Mallital, Nainital, was established in 1944. Swiss chef Salechili started a tiny confectionery and which has now become a prima Donna restaurant. It used to be known specially for its baked goods but now offers Continental, Chinese, and North Indian dishes. I have been coming to Sakley's, eachtime I visit Nanital and that to, since eons .... I am simply just stuck on their food. I love having my sizzler here, though I have gone through, piece by piece of other dishes too, which includes gouging on their wonderful melt-in-mouth pastries. I wouldn't stop coming here ever, that's for sure.

Situated in the heart of a busy market near Mallital area, this 80-year-old pastry shop and confectionery offers a quiet escape from the surrounding hustle. Once you step inside, the noise fades, and you’re welcomed into a space that carries a gentle, old-world charm. The walls are lined with photographs that reflect the rich culture of Uttarakhand, adding character without overwhelming the space. The staffs are polite and welcoming. The shop is best known for its classic Swiss pastries and sweets, many of which have stood the test of time. They also serve a mix of Chinese and tandoori items, which adds variety to the menu. We had cold coffee with ice cream, americano, chocolate tart, tiramisu, cinnamon roll, blueberry cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, whole pineapple pastry, chocolate almond pastry and pan fried noodles. The pastries tasted good and were nicely made, though they leaned a little on the sweeter side. A touch less sweetness might help bring out the real depth of the ingredients and let the core flavors speak more clearly. The cheesecakes were well-made, creamy, and have a nice balance of flavor that’s easy to enjoy. Coffees were good as well as the noodles. Tariff wise the confectionery is slightly on the higher side. Overall verdict, it’s a place that blends heritage with comfort, and offers a break from the usual - a visit worth making if you’re in the area.
