12 Most Haunted Houses in America

"Famous among paranormal investigators, this modest home became notorious after early-1990s tenants reported flickering lights, apparitions, possessions, disembodied voices, and unexplained scratches or burns—phenomena attributed to the spirit of a young girl named Sallie. Subsequent occupants corroborated unusual experiences, and unsettling theories about malevolent forces and possible ritual activity in the basement have circulated. The property now offers self-guided tours and overnight stays for visitors seeking direct encounters." - Andrea Romano Andrea Romano Andrea Romano is a writer and editor in New York City. It was a cool experience to go in and tour the house on our own! I wish we could have gone into the basement but other than that, it was great!

Let me start by saying that there are no "spirits" in this place, no Casper the friendly ghost playing funny tricks with stuffed animals, and I'm sorry but no Sallie. ... The entities that occupy this house are purely demonic evil, and absolutely nothing to play around with unless your are strong in your faith. These things can and will attach to you. Demons will appear in many different forms in order to get you to let your guard down (like a little girl named Sallie)... This is not a bad a review, it's a warning because the stories you hear (some of them) are very real... Just be careful because this isn't a game

We traveled 700 miles and paid $376.00 dollars to investigate the Sallie house. My crew and I was excited. When we got there we found out the basement door was locked shut with a paid lock. I called them and asked if they was going to unlock the basement door for us and they said “ No due to your safety.” We stayed and investigated the house and slept in the living room. We did not experience anything demonic or evil in the house. I believe this location is over hyped and people label something dark when it’s not. I attached a picture of the basement and the email conversation I had with the Sallie House.

I stayed there on June 10th, 2025, to investigate and document it. The video is on my YouTube channel, Freakmore Paranormal. My episode is known for the most in-depth, REAL investigation and finding the Sallie House demon face to face.

It was an experience, It felt eerie and could definitely tell there was "something" there with us. I normally don't believe in the afterlife or supernatural but now I'm more open minded. Definitely an experience I recommend anyone to experience.

I love coming to visit The Sallie House! 2nd year in a row for my birthday. This time when I asked if they remembered me someone came running up the basement stairs. Thinking it was someone in my group I stepped away from the door so it could open. But, then 1 friend came in the front door and 2 others came downstairs from the 2nd floor. I guess I'm kind of happy the door did not open! Happy Haunting!

I really think you need more than an hour or an overnight stay to really experience anything. However, I enjoyed my time at the house and the information posted in various places was informative. I'd love to spend a couple days there.

Did an overnight investigation here and was mostly uneventful. One of the lady's in our group reported she saw a man walking outside the window... on the second level. Other than that it was uneventful. Would have been a lot better if the basement wasn't off limits.
