The Salmon House Restaurant

The Salmon House has easily the best salmon I've ever eaten. I had the salmon oscar two nights in a row because it was so incredibly tasty. This is a cozy restaurant nestled by Lake Quinault, and for being the only real dinner game in town it is unbelievably good. The vegetables and rice were just alright, but they're only there to complement the salmon and crab. The desserts are divine too. I will be coming back here whenever I visit Quinault.

We went off season in January under wonderful recommendation from the Quinault Lodge up the street. Very wonderful service our server was super kind. The food was amazing. I know Washington state is well known for its salmon but wow the seafood was fantastic. Also oh my goodness the “Fruit of the Woods” pie was delicious. I’m annoyed now cause I have to wait to come back to have it again. The atmosphere was fantastic. Was a very wonderful reflection of the local area. Photos of the local life and beautiful indigenous art from the Quinault Reservation hung on the walls. Definitely will go again next time I head up to the Olympic Peninsula.

They were extremely busy for Valentine's Day. I had never eaten here and called ahead to inquire. The hostess was patient and kind with my questions despite the level of slammed they were. When we arrived and ordered to go, they had a long wait list and the team was busting out food and providing exceptional service. We enjoyed eating our burgers in our cabin across the street. Burgers and fries were delicious. The bun was a good bun. (No sesame seeds, if you're curious) I also appreciated that their fries were not double battered. Picture from their parking lot 😍

Lovely place by the lake. Ample seating, courteous staff, awesome food, fair prices. Most of the seats have the lake view. We got in line on a busy long weekend night closer to 9 pm but were seated after a bit of waiting and served we ordered dessert close to 10 pm. I'm fact there were people coming in around 9 pm and we didn't see them bring told about last order time on any of those tables.

We had an order to go. I ordered their bacon cheeseburger and my wife had their chicken wings and a house salad. The cheeseburger was fair, and the wings were really good. For some reason, my wife tasted a lot of salt in her salad. That was weird. The fries that came with my cheeseburger were limp. To be fair, they had a very large party in the restaurant and from when I went in, I had to wait 20 minutes to pay for my order and then wait another 15 minutes to receive it. The best thing that we got from them was their tuxedo cake that I got for my wife’s birthday. The Waitress who took my order was really sweet and did a very nice job of keeping me informed.

This is a great place to stop and eat. The restaurant is older looking but seems to be well maintained. Service is great and staff are polite and professional. The food is really fantastic! I had a very nicely done burger and hubby had the salmon which was buttery soft and wonderfully tasty. The fruit of the forest pie a al mode is top notch and so very good I forgot to take a picture before I dug in!

The Salmon House nailed it with dinner! Their chicken wings were crispy, saucy perfection, and the steak was juicy的可; juicy, cooked just how I like it. Staff’s friendly, like old pals. View’s stunning, but the booths felt snug. Quirky Native decor’s a vibe. Wings and steak stole the show—my taste buds are still dancing!

Adorable place, delicious food. Our server (we went two nights in a row and had the same gal) was incredibly upbeat, polite, chatty, and charming!! The food was so good. The smoked salmon appetizer was a 10/10 for me. We tried a few different salmon entrees and they were all cooked to perfection. So moist and buttery. Would go again in a heart beat!

Best meal we've ever had in our visits to the Lake Quinalt area. I'm not a professional fish biologist (although I've always wanted to play one on TV), but I know a perfectly blackened salmon steak when I see one. Upon closer examination I made 100% sure it was juicy on the inside. My wife's baked salmon was perfectly cooked as well. Seasonal broccoli could have used some seasoning or caramelized onions or something. Special dessert of blueberry house-made cheesecake was awesome: the compote wasn't overly sweet so it ended a fine meal overlooking the lake. Wines by the glass were inexpensive ($10) but also limited to house selections of Chardonnay (a bit watery), Pinot Gris (crisp and appley), and the Riesling (didn't try). A wider white wine selection (and maybe flights?) would be an improvement since salmon is the name of the game here. Great service and seating is oriented to try to give as many customers as possible a view of Lake Quinalt even if you're not seated by a window (we weren't). Full bar too.

You MUST order salmon at the Salmon House! And maybe their spaghetti too :) We drove past this lovely restaurant overlooking a lake on our way to a waterfall. We didn't have signal, but I imagine if you're one of the residents at the nearby inn, you have wifi access. We came around 4pm, and there was no wait. Our waiter was super friendly and recommended based on our preferences. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. Prices are on the higher side, but this is definitely a more rural area and it was hard for us to find a place to eat. By the time we were done eating at around 6pm, there was a LINE out the door... and this was a weekday too! A pretty popular spot, don't miss it as you tour the beautiful state. Ty for reading :^)

We've been coming to the Salmon House nearly every year for our 32 married years. The food is always delicious and the staff amazing (although yesterday we had more attention from the other servers and the bus staff than our waitress, who spent most of her time behind the bar visiting with her friends). Always a wonderful dining experience, but I miss their chicken dishes, there are none now other than chicken strips on the kids menu.

Scenic restaurant along the shore of a lake. Food here was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the blackened salmon and jelly salmon (blackened but with a sweet and spicy sauce). Both were delicious but I preferred the jelly salmon.

Wonderfully delicious salmon in the Olympic National Park area. Located on Lake Quinault, the restaurant has beautiful views of the lake, trees, and the beautiful nature of the area. The restaurant specializes in Salmon, which is the most popular PNW fish. And it delivers. Try the chipotle crust salmon. Perfect blend of sweet/spicy. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked and tender. Service was also friendly and attentive. The blackened salmon is another hit.

In the state of Washington the salmon is of abundance for our dinner. With about 6 options of salmon dishes for a group of 8 we chose blackened salmon, dill salmon and baked salmon. All were delicious but it seems like Dill salmon was the most moist. We also ordered spaghetti and some cheesy bread for the kiddos. They ran out of clam chowder for the night. This restaurant does take reservations where our waters were already waiting on the table for us. If you're early enough you can enjoy the view of Lake Quinalt. The restaurant had a couple rooms where we sat in the first room closest to the entrance. The 2nd partition had a bar, a music jukebox and an all blue seats and seemed a bit darker. Bathrooms each have 2 stalls. The service was excellent as the waitress provided extra napkins as well. Her fave was the Dill salmon too. They also provide WiFi but it's definitely slow. Would come back again.

Probably should have tried a different salmon. Wasn't crazy about the chili sauce blackened style. The waitress recommended it. So my bad for goi g out on limb. Service was great though.

Fabulous dinner! Best salmon we've ever had! We had the blackened salmon with pepper jelly. Nice atmosphere; nothing fancy but great service!

The place is adorable, super clean and has the best view of Lake Quinault!!! Absolutely outstanding gorgeous views! The food is awesome! I had the blackened salmon with pepper jam and my husband had the thyme salmon. Both were absolutely perfectly cooked and the blackened salmon was also perfectly prepared, which is not easy! The staff was amazing! This was middle of winter at Lake Quinault/Olympic National Park, there was one server for a full restaurant, and he was super kind, funny and clearly was proud of the food he was serving. The Salmon House also has a full bar. Highly recommend it! Will definitely come back!

Great food, great ambience and great service. They were super friendly and accommodating with specific needs. We came in NYE without a reservation and it was not crowded , we didn't even wait. The food came with minimum wait. We ordered salmon for adults and pasta and burgers for kids. All good in general Great view to Lake Quinault

The Salmon House is located in Quinault right on the shores of Lake Quinault. This is a great place to enjoy dinner with a view. Salmon House is open in the evenings and serves a variety of seafood, steaks, chicken, pasta and salads. They also specialize in salmon (obviously). I had been in Washington all week hiking and sightseeing at both Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks and was looking forward to a nice sit-down meal on the final night of my trip. I ordered the Tempura Prawns with some rice and vegetables. The service was nice and my overall experience was great. Afterwards, I was able to step outside and catch the sunset over Lake Quinault. Coming here was a relaxing way to end my trip.

Pepper Jam salmon was phenomenal. Huge portion size on the spaghetti and meatballs. Scallop appetizer was delicious! Don't miss the friends of the forest pie, I don't know the last time I had such a good pie crust.

I got there far closer to closing than I'd like but was pleased they still seated me graciously. My server was fantastic and recommended both the beers and salmon I ended up getting. 20/10 recommendations all around. You could not ask for a better view of the magnificent sunset over the lake and mountains. My server checked in often and kept me sated. I realized it was well past the closing time when I was finished eating and apologized to many responses of "no worries". Everyone here was focused on making this the great experience it was.

We had a wonderful dinner on our last night in Quinault. It got busy after we were seated, shortly after 530pm. The server, who seemed to effortlessly work the entire dining room, was nothing short of pleasant and amazing. She used to work at the Lodge we were staying at and was so friendly and helpful. She made our dinner experience so memorable and enjoyable- hate to say it but we were regretting that we didn't eat there on our first night in Quinault. We had all the appetizers except the scallops- mushrooms (must order!!), salmon/crackers (delicious), the cheese bread (whoa!), and the wings. All were tasty! For dinner, there were four of us and we ordered the pepper jelly salmon (cooked to perfection), the steak (a lot of food and so flavorful!), and the tempura shrimp (a hit!). We also got two desserts- the forest pie (or something with all fruit) and the butter cake- both a la mode; can't tell you how much we raved about the meal. Prices were fair- the meal with tip came up to about $300 but it was well worth the splurge for our last night. You'll pay this at the Lodge and won't get half of what I mentioned. If ever we visit Lake Quinault again, I can assure you we will choose to dine here. Thanks for a wonderful meal, great service, and good times

Absolutely loved this spot. The view was so pretty and they quickly sat out group of 15. The sweet server did an amazing job and was super friendly and patient with all of our kids. We had old fashions to drink and we each got different salmon and everyone thought their own salmon was the best. I got the dill salmon and it was "dill-licious" our kids ate all of their fried shrimp and the smoked salmon appetizer was so good! Woukd highly recommend it and you can walk to the largest spruce tree in the world from here. We would definitely eat here again! So good and so fun!

We tried this restaurant on a whim while traveling through Olympic National Park. It was excellent! Our server was full of personality and very friendly. My salmon (I had the lemon dill) was out of this world!!

Hands down , the BEST restaurant near Lake Quinault! ( in Olympus National Park in Washington) Luckily,we just happened to pass their parked van that advertised their establishment near our Lodge. Kinda wish we had discovered this restaurant sooner. Definitely would have eaten here again during our visit. Great view of Lake Quinault in their dining room. There is a small bar too! ( 6-8 seats) Hostess and waitress were both friendly. Our server came by numerous times to check if we were ok and needed anything . Obviously, their specialty is salmon. They have numerous ways they can prepare it : baked, broiled, dill , blackened, blackened with pepper jelly. I got the blackened with pepper jelly which had Cajun seasoning and sweet jelly. It was soooo delicious. My daughter got the dill salmon which was topped with a dill/ mayo sauce that she really enjoyed. They have other food choices , but why order anything else since there they do salmon so well. All entrees come with one side ( baked potato, mashed potatoes or rice pilaf ) and vegetable of the day. We got broccoli today . We ate every last bit of our salmon meal . It was very enjoyable and I strongly recommend this restaurant , especially if you like salmon!

Such a cool restaurant. Awesome vibes inside and great staff- super friendly. The food was also delicious and pretty affordable. We got the baked and broiled salmon- both AMAZING.

When we ordered our salmon meal, the server said he didn't know what species of salmon they were serving. Only that it came from British Columbia I am a professional fish biologist. During my meal, I closely examined the flesh and skin. 100% sure this was farmed Atlantic salmon. BC produces lots of alantic salmon in pens - outlawed in Washington State. The fish was very well cooked and tasty. Disappointed they choose to hide the true origion of the fish

Lovely restaurant on the lake. Friendly staff & very knowledgeable server. Our group ordered the salmon prepared three different ways and each person loved their Salmon. I ordered it baked with creamy dill sauce and it was so moist and delicious! Thank you Salmon House cooks & servers for a wonderful dinner!

Everything was delectable! Homemade smoked salmon appetizer is excellent. Tempura mushrooms were yummy. Salmon entree was perfectly cooked. The Bundt cake dessert was incredible, Service was excellent as well.

My wife and I ate dinner here twice while staying down the road at the Lake Quinault Lodge. Our meals were delicious (and less costly than the lodge) and service was great. They have a full bar, but limited wine list. You can also bring your own wine for a $15 corkage fee. They serve salmon seven different ways; we tried three: broiled, blackened, and with a dill cream sauce. The salmon was moist and perfectly cooked. With it comes your choice of potatoes (baked or French fried) or rice pilaf and a veggie (broccoli the days we were there). All the salmon meals were in the $28 range. They also have steaks and burgers etc. The restaurant is situated right on the banks of Lake Quinault, so it's a great place to relax and enjoy a sunset and/or natural beauty. Service was friendly and attentive. Recommended highly.

I enjoyed the dining experience. Our server Annie recommeded a local beer which I liked. The salmon with Pepper Jelly etc was really delish. Chef does a great job on the salmon.

Atmosphere: Cute little lodge by the lake, great view. Seats were not super comfy. Food: They're called Salmon House so I had to get their Salmon. Got the Blackened one and it was really delicious. I got it with Rice and veggies. Everything was really on point. Partner got the Steak and that was surprisingly delicious as well. I would definitely come back here for the Salmon. Service: this is why I had to take down a star. Service was sooooooooooo slow. I think they forgot we sat down because it took them 15 mins. to come check in with us and take our order. Then after that, I could never find anyone to ask for something. Finally found someone to ask for the check and just gave them my credit card right away because I didn't know when they'd come back again. So, to combat this, I would recommend knowing what you want to order when you come in, order right away when you sit down, and then pay when you're halfway through eating. Way more efficient.

Food: 4 Ambiance/view: 5 Service: 2 We were staying at the property next door earlier this month and this place was recommended. Several varieties of salmon and I chose the dill salmon and the 2 guys in my party got the pepper jelly salmon. Everyone was very happy with their choices. Cooked perfectly and great temp. View of the lake was nice and if we are ever back in the area will definitely utilize the deck to sit outside and enjoy it. Server was friendly and had a positive attitude. Service was super slow. I saw her running all over into the other areas so I'm assuming short staffed. We were seated near the bar and a mention upon being seated would've been nice. I typically see a decline in service when a table doesn't order alcohol but all tables seemed to be waiting for service. There was maybe a bar back or server in training that tried to help but she didn't seem to know anything and alerted our server we needed assistance.

Easily the best salmon I've had. Try the pepper jelly salmon. Amazing. The view is great. The service is good. All in a restaurant way up in the Olympic National Forest.

Thank goodness we finally found a good restaurant in the Lake Quinault area! We got the salmon, of course. I tried the blackened salmon. It was perfectly cooked. The skin was crispy and delicious, and the meat was very moist. The spices were delicious without being overpowering. We got the Fruit of the Forest pie for dessert. A mixture of berries and nice crust, I would order this again.

We were staying at a motel across the street from the Salmon House. The manager had recommended it. We arrived when it opened. The atmosphere was very nice with a view of the lake. My husband ordered a steak and I ordered the Salmon with Dill Sauce. The food was amazing. The service was very good too.

Just spent three nights at Lake Quinault Lodge. We've eaten at the near by Salmon House before and always found it to be top quality. The same was true on this most recent visit. In fact, the food quality was excellent, and the service was great. I had the prawns, which were excellent, and my wife had the baked salmon which she said was wonderful. There was a group of 11 and everyone was really happy with the meal and the environment and the quality of service and the price. This is a great restaurant and if you're ever up and around the Ault area.

Seriously good food here. The dill salmon was some of the best salmon we've ever had. We also got an Alfredo pasta, but in the end we regretted not simply getting two salmon dishes, because that was clearly the strong point here. The drinks were also great. It's definitely pricey, but I think that comes with the territory here. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent salmon. We had the Dill Salmon & the Pepper Jelly Blackened Salmon (our favorite). Nathan was our waiter and took very good care of us. There is a beautiful view of lake Quinault. If you are near here, we highly recommend it.

Attached to a resort, it operates as a separate restaurant, and the parking lot is designated restaurant only. Top-level lakeside location but not fancy decor. The menu concentrates on about six types of baked or broiled salmon with and without toppings. There's also other basic dishes for people who don't want salmon, but this is a place for people who want salmon. I got the baked salmon with dill. The salmon was very well cooked, tender and fully-cooked all the way through, a big slab and not the tiny slice one often gets. But by the same token it wasn't the most exquisite fish; what was exquisite was how they cooked it. But then they dumped a huge layer of dill sauce over it, after it was cooked. I had to scrape most of it off, and would have been better off with plain. Clam chowder really good. Views over the lake excellent. Service a little balky - it's not a problem if it takes 5 minutes to bring the soup, but it is a bit odd if they'd promised it right away.

The service was amazing and the food was decent! The salad was really fresh! Glad they stayed open despite the electricity outage.

You can enjoy salmon with a view! Salmon was very good - well seasoned, crispy and flaky. Fries were also crispy. There aren't many options around the area but this place is really good.

With not a lot of dining options in the area, we chose Salmon House based on other reviews. We had a great dinner experience. Food was delicious and generously portioned. Service was helpful and friendly. Really the only negative thing I can say is that the seats had very thin cushioning and weren't terribly comfortable, but more in a we noticed it when we sat down then mostly forgot about it way. Definitely recommended.

Salmon, salmon, salmon, although I did notice some of the other tables ordering burgers and pasta. The pasta probably was probably topped with salmon! There are five kinds of salmon. Ranked by taste; Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Pink and Chub. The waitress said she didn't know what kind, but that it came from Alaska. We ordered three different styles of salmon; blackened, jelly glazed and broiled. All three were good sized and cooked perfectly. The baked potato came with at first thought to be bacon bits, but was a concoction that included salmon bits. The restaurant has most tables with a view of the Quinault River.

EAT HERE!!!! The food was unbelievably good. I have been blessed to eat at some great five star restaurants and the food here is on par with any of them.

They say you gotta eat salmon in Quinault. And maybe that's true, but it's just a damn shame when you have clearly great salmon and overcook it until the flavor starts to leach out. At least one came with pepper jelly, which was unique and a good combination, and the portions were HUGE, both of the salmon itself, the sides (canned-tasting green and yellow beans, plus a baked potato with non-crispy skin), and the big chunk of huckleberry cheesecake (light and airy with great sauce).

So glad they are finally back open for dine in! Love eating here every time we visit Quinault and again, they did not disappoint. We had the chicken parm, clam chowder and the pepper jelly blackened salmon. All were perfectly plated and seasoned. The salmon was expertly cooked and my friend says the chowder was on point. The bar isn't yet open, but they had a fun selection of beer, wine and pre mixed cocktails. Service was impeccable. Fast, fun and friendly. Excellent atmosphere. Best restaurant by far in the area.

This place is soooooo good! Not "good for a place with extremely limited food options" but "actually good and memorable." I had seen this place on Yelp after scoping out food options near Lake Quinault Lodge and it did not disappoint! LOCATION & PARKING // This is a two-minute drive or 20 minute walk from Lake Quinault Lodge (about a mile). If you do decide to drive, there is parking outside! The restaurant itself looks like a small cabin with very old and historic decor inside. The view outside is gorgeous though so you can do takeout and eat outside with a view if you'd like. I personally took it back to the lodge to eat. SERVICE // I called in my order and it was ready in about 20 minutes. Although my interactions with staff members were limited, they were kind and helpful. I did have to go back in to grab my food without a reminder from them though but that's the only thing. FOOD // I got the BAKED SALMON with FRIES. It was amazing. It was super fresh, light, fluffy, and the fries were still crispy after taking it back to the lodge! I knew this was the best choice for me because I wanted something buttery. The steamed vegetables were just okay and I could've done without them since they weren't flavorful but I threw some salt on there and it was fine. It is quite a pricy dish though but it was on brand with all their other dishes. OVERALL // 4.5 stars I'm really glad I was able to try this! Clearly, their salmon dishes are the winners so I highly recommend trying of their plates.

We loved the relaxed feel, peaceful view, and friendly service at Salmon House. We both ordered salmon (salmon with pepper jelly and dill salmon), and it was delicious, prepared just as we like it. We also ordered and enjoyed the bacon wrapped scallops, which were a real treat.

What a wonderful surprise! The food from Salmon House (take out only when we were there last month) is SERIOUSLY good! Quinault is a beautiful place, but it's out in the middle of nowhere. Still, as we sat on the porch of our cabin for 2 nights we watched a steady stream of customers who came to the right place. In the course of our 2 nights we had broiled salmon, nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection, a NY strip with seasoning adjusted to accommodate my wife's dietary limitations, tempura prawns, cooked just long enough and with light, flaky panko crust, delicious baked potatoes with smoky bacon bits, not at all blah rice pilaf, and nicely prepared and not over cooked veggie medley. Very likable and efficient staff. Prices are very reasonable. We have never ever eaten so well from styrofoam containers in our lives!

Now open for inside dining! We await our salmon dinner! Highly anticipated! We had the garlic Parmesan cheesebread as a delicious beginning!

Third place I tried on the South side and the rave reviews are deserving . Location and building aren't much to look at but views are great if you could dine in, but sadly only take out in this Pandemic times My wife and I hiked by on the way to the Spruce and the Salmon options looked intriguing. Got the Blackened Peppered Jelly Salmon, came very tender green beans and carrots and a small but perfectly prepared bake potato with generous side of shredded bacon bits. Dinner salad portion was generous and the blue cheese dressing wasn't your standard of mill dressing but thick, bold and tasty. A bonus they have Guinness bottle for 4 dollars versus bud light for 8 bucks for bud light at the lodge, LOL We are coming back again, this meal was worth the the price and more ! So good I want to drop a star for my rating for Dino and I.C.

While staying at the near by lake quinaualt lodge we ventured out to the salmon house for dinner one night. Considering covid shut does they were well organized and prepared. We ordered two blackened salmon Cezar salads, fried mushrooms and scallops to take back to our room. The salads were legit, fresh and delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly (I'm kinda a salmon snob) and the dressing was perfect. Considering we drove a few minutes down the road, got settled into our room and poured some wine before eating any of it the appetizers were super yummy. The mushrooms were still hot, a little crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside...good stuff! The sauces were great as well. The next day we walked up to their gift shop and the man working was super friendly and had a large treat for our large dog. They had some staple items you might forget in the mountains and some cute local goodies as well. This place is worth leaving the resort for without a doubt. Their lawn is beautiful and I'm sure when it's open the inside dining (especially the bar!) is a great place to hang out.

Best fresh salmon ever! You can select from a variety of marinates. It is accompanied with the perfect rice pilaf and fresh streamed veggies. With Covid in place, it's all takeout which worked for us. Best treat of all, we enjoyed a picnic dinner while watching the sunset. The salmon was wonderful that we came back the next night.

I was put off by an unpleasant cheesy smell. My food was good; I had the sirloin and a baked potato. My son's salmon was cold. The desserts were good. The food was nothing great and not worth the total bill of $106 (including tip) for two people. We won't be going back, primarily due to the smell. The servers and other staff were very nice and capable.

Not too many restaurant choices here in Amanda Park Washington. This is a lake front restaurant. At this moment it is take out only. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a place behind the restaurant with a few tables where you can sit down and eat, do not expect a fine dining experience. There is no restroom for hand washing. There is also no trash cans. The food is excellent. I recommend the smoke salmon Caesar salad and blacked salmon. I only wish that it could be an indoor dining atmosphere instead of eating outdoor in the cold and wind.
