This is my most favorite place on the planet. We had an opportunity to fly up to Auke Bay and bring a boat home to Astoria, OR and my husband convinced me to come along for the ride with our three year old and two week old baby because he promised to take me here for brunch! I dream of the cinnamon rolls and lavender lemonade daily. A must-stop!

Came in 1/9 at 1:40 because their posted hours say they close at 2:30. Apparently they close at 2pm because the girls working were visibly upset with my and another customers presence. I can’t imagine how sad of a life you must have to be upset about handing a premade sandwich over to a tipping customer. The food was fantastic but I would never visit again.

They always have something new. I love the variety of the baked goods, sandwiches, and meals. Everything is very flavorful though often fairly simple. We have gone for lunch a couple times, breakfast, and are looking forward to trying a Monday night dinner.

This is a gem in Petersburg. The food is amazing and seasoned well, always. I never tried anything that I didn’t like. The team is very creative, and I enjoyed coming here to try new things. There could be some improvement with customer service, including greeting customers and helping customers figure out what’s in the food. Some team members are great at it, others not so much. If no one is available at the moment, a simple “someone will be with you soon” helps. Also labelling the food with perhaps a toothpick and description would greatly help the flow when there’s a line.

Food here is not only delicious, but looks amazing too. Great place to grab breakfast while in Petersburg. Can’t wait to stop by again in less than a month.

Love the setting and options available on a daily basis at the Salty Pantry. Mindy adds a special touch to everything that’s offered. Don’t miss a meal here when you’re in Petersburg

Absolutely epic breakfast place. If you're anywhere near here you have to check it out. All sorts of delicious options, fun friendly staff, an overall memorable experience. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately I wish I had taken pictures of this place. It's amazing, if you visit Petersburg, AK. You need to stop and eat. They make very delicious sandwiches and pastries plus their salads. I have been going many times to the Salty Pantry, I admit, I do not get tired of their food. This time I taken a friend she enjoyed a sticky bun and coffee. Stop and visit the Salty Pantry you will not regret

Yelp
Always a great experience when we come to Petersburg. Food is fantastic better to be there a bit early than a bit late for your choice of the day's breakfast or lunch offerings. Though everything they make great.

Yelp
Great food, cooked in-house, cute outdoor seating, pleasant service. They provide a feast for the eyes and pallette.

Yelp
I don't think you can get a more home cooked breakfast in town. I absolutely loved that they use cast iron skillets to cook all the food in. Fresh ingredients + love = fantastic food. You definitely don't want to miss this place.

Yelp
The Salty Pantry is easily the best place to eat in Petersburg, Alaska. Their menu is advanced, their food is homemade and their patrons are as wholesome as those running the place. The setup: stand in line and go through to pick from what they have. What they have is amazing, and you can't go wrong with any of their items. Check out and take your food with you to an inside or outside spot, or to go. I had an opportunity to try the french toast here, and found it to be perfectly thick, covered in the right amount of egg and the syrup to be the perfect addition to warm cuts. I couldn't imagine anything more wholesome or like the french toast that my parents used to make. I also was able to grab four pastries - a bear claw, cinnamon bun, and who knows what else. You know what? It was all great. I realize the part that makes The Salty Pantry so good is that they food is reminiscent of a great home cooked meal. I came back here with every stop I had while I was in this great fishing town.

Yelp
What a nice diner in a small town of Petersburg. The decor of the establishment is rustic and contemporary, very fitting for a fishing town. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The food... oh the food! Everything that comes out of the kitchen is delicious, and it leaves you with "I want more"-kind of impression. On this particular morning, we got broccoli and cheese quiche, sticky buns, and chocolate croissant. The sticky bun is gooey, chewy, yet fluffy. The pecans on top is a perfect texture-pairing. The sweetness of each bite is nice complement to a dark roasted, black coffee. The chocolate croissant is flaky, light and airy. This puff pastry will stand up against any morning beverage of your choice. The savory quiche tasted clean to the tongue. What a nice brunch surprise. We make it a habit to come back to salty pantry everytime we are in town!

Yelp
Best breakfast in the northern hemisphere! I would highly recommend to anyone within 500 miles.

Yelp
Cute little place with limited indoor seating and outdoor seating. Had the Ham / cheese & pickle sandwich, very tasty. Nice employees #Recommended #VickieTravelz

Yelp
The sandwiches were freshly made with a rustic bread. Cinnamon rolls were some of the best I have ever had. Super cute large coffee mugs as well. Just a real cool little place. A must stop for everyone.

Dane I.

Yelp
The service is fast because the food is pre made but still it is fresh made each day so it was awsome. It was soo good me and my family went back again for lunch and were happy again.

Amy D.

Yelp
One word- AMAZING a mixture of local produce, pastries and meals all rolled into a tiny harbor front building. Dine in or take out. Everything is amazing. I got a meal and cookies to go. Everything is fresh!

Dan D.

Yelp
Insanely good food. We ate here numerous times over 3 weeks and never had anything less than a stellar meal. I travel and eat out in the lower 48 all the time, and the food here is as good as anywhere. There is some major culinary talent there. Wish we had a salty pantry in Texas. Cuban sandwich best I've ever had.

Yelp
I'm not sure why there aren't more reviews for this wonderful and invitingly warm cafe, tucked away near the harbor in Petersburg. Everything we ate was super fresh, generously sized, and fantastic. Innovative protein-packed salads, fresh salmon slabs, various enormous sandwiches on homemade bread, gooey mac and cheese, luscious baked goodies, even fresh carrot juice! And the plates kept coming out of the kitchen, making it hard to choose a favorite! Thankfully the local bookstore pointed us in the right direction for lunch (thank you!!) as the dining selections in Petersburg AK leave a LOT to be desired.

Yelp
I was visiting Petersburg for a short time for work and discovered this place by recommendation of a co worker. The sandwiches are absolutely DELICIOUS! Honestly some of the best I've ever had. I made a point of picking up lunch their everyday for the rest of the trip. It was that good.

Jem M.

Yelp
This place is just darn cute! When I was up here for work in the summer it was hard to make time to catch them during their hours of operation but thank goodness I did before I left. They offer different types of deli sandwiches, salads and what caught my eye the most were their cookies. I ordered the kale salad and shrimp macaroni salad which was very refreshing for a light brunch due to saving room for the good stuff and I mean good stuff, the parfait, the chocolate reeses cookie and this other cookie next to the chocolate chip one I forgot its name. The view of the mountains and harbor were more than wonderful while munch'in on such a delicious treat so thats a plus.

Yelp
I've been to this amazing spot twice since arriving in Petersburg a few days ago: once for a treat in the afternoon (a delicious molasses ginger cookie) and once for breakfast (scones, salmon quiche, coffee, cinnamon roll). It is in a perfect location between the middle harbor and Main Street and is open at 5am for early risers.

Eric L.

Yelp
Simply the best food in Petersburg. Everything made fresh daily right there. Warm atmosphere and friendly staff makes this place my go to spot.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Yummm. Went here for breakfast three days in a row and everything was awesome. The ham and cheese sammie with homemade bread and arugula, ham and cheese croissant with jalapeño, and the breakfast hash with their specialty salad. Go here, you taste buds will thank you!

Derek Y.

Yelp
We found this place by accident walking around town. It is hidden off the main street but wow...what awesome food. Everything we tried over two different visits have been nothing but outstanding. The Cuban Sandwich was awesome, egg sandwich was great and the Turkey sandwich was also tasty. You cant go wrong here and by far the beat place for breakfast or lunch while in Petersburg!

Mary J.

Yelp
Excellent food. Super fresh and beautiful sandwiches, soups and salads. Definitely a great place for lunch.

Ward S.

Yelp
The food is excellent and there is not very many places to eat in Petersburg. There are only a few other choices but they aren't on the gourmet side like this place. The only thing I can say bad about this place is that they served me cold coffee. That's only a minor thing, just check before you serve is all :).

Daniel H.

Yelp
A bit off the normal path but easy walk from downtown and worth looking for, greeted by friendly staff, quick service, and good food and coffee at a reasonable price, what more could you ask for, I may never visit Petersburg again but if I do will return here. Great for a quick good breakfast

Julia K.

Yelp
Petersburg has been waiting for the Salty Pantry. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared and the staff is very kind. It's a wonderful place to sit and eat. Since they've opened I've been a handful of times (whenever I visit) and every time it has been the same experience: wonderful.

Amanda R.

Yelp
One item and you'll be hooked: blackberry peach scone Closed on Sunday for another: boo

Akglitter Q.

Yelp
This is probably the best place in Petersburg to eat!! Everything is fresh and delicious!! Lots of options.. salads are FABULOUS!! And the mushroom stuffed with quinoa soooooo good!!

Robert H.

Yelp
We've been visiting Petersburg annually for the last 10 years and this is our favorite restaurant. The quality of the food is top notch with fair pricing for large portions. Breakfast and lunch have always been excellent!

Diana D.

Yelp
Pretty great place. Good decor and food is delicious and pretty healthy. Food usually comes along side of greens. Breakfast items were good. We order the matcha berry creme drink, which was less good; there was no matcha there. Besides all, good view, one of the best in Petersburg.

Seth H.

Yelp
As far as we're concerned this is the best restaurant in Petersburg. They're baked goods are fantastic. For dessert try their apple pie or one of their chocolate cookies. Their menu changes daily so there's always something new to try. Their 15 bean soup was fantastic. Today's special was baked beans, fresh corn in the ribs. We've also tried their quiche and their spanakopita. We have liked everything so far.

Lori G.

Yelp
The Salty Pantry dishes up outstanding fare! Delicious and affordable. Healthy and appetizing. No trip to Petersburg is complete without enjoying a bite at this downtown establishment. The chef/owner is as delightful as the tasty treats she prepares. A winner!

John C.

Yelp
In Petersburg there are very few restaurants to choose from. Luckily we found the Salty Pantry. The sandwiches were very unique and delicious. Friendly staff greet you with a smile and are eager to assist you. We really enjoyed our lunch.

Yelp
Best food in town! Freshly made, quality ingredients and great staff. Unique menu that changes based upon available ingredients and what Chef and staff decide best fits the day! Highly recommended.
