I keep giving this place a chance, and they just keep blowing it. I am just in disbelief how a place that is accepting your donations, literally for free, can be staffed with such abhorrently rude employees. I have made an effort to try and donate predominantly to the Salvation Army after learning about the less than ethical business practices of Goodwill. But I just can't understand what is going on at this place. Every time I bring in a donation, I am treated as though I am an annoyance. I'm not bringing in garbage either... I'm bringing in brand new clothing, electronics, and other things of the sort, because while I know that I could sell them and get money for them, I would rather donate them to a good cause instead. But it seems that when I come to this location, I am just met with hostility and irritation. For instance, yesterday I brought a bag of clothing in, and a female employee was speaking with a male employee about 30 feet away in the parking lot. I walked up with the bag and stood there looking at them for a minute, just wanting to know where they would like me to leave it. They both saw me, and completely ignored me. Finally, after waiting long enough, I said "excuse me, I have a donation, where would you like it?" They both looked at me with annoyed looks and no response, so I said "it's clothing." The guy says "it goes in the clothing bin behind you." So, I walked over and placed it in there, and then walked back over toward them, because I also had a Bookshelf that I wanted to leave and wanted to know if I should take it over toward the door where the other furniture was, or leave it near the donation bins. I again stood there, clearly having another question, and was again completely ignored despite the fact that they both were well aware that I was standing there waiting. I waited another minute, and spoke up again and said "excuse me, I" and the girl interrupted me and said "yeah, you need to give me a minute, I will get you a receipt" in a rude tone. Again, this was clearly a personal conversation, and they were both clearly at work and clearly ignoring me for whatever reason. So, I said "actually that wasn't my question, I have a bookshelf to donate as well and I was wondering where you would like me to put it," and she just replies "we aren't taking any more furniture." So I say "okay, we'll I guess I'll just take the receipt then," and continued standing there for three minutes, continuing to be ignored. Neither one of them ever came over to get me the receipt. I finally just left. Keep in mind, I was literally the only customer in the parking lot, and the three of us were the only people there. They were not busy, they were just having a conversation which was apparently far more important than doing their jobs. Every single time I come here, a similar situation seems to occur in one way or another, and it's getting old. I live right down the street, but I'm going to start checking out some different locations, because I just can't continue to support a place like this anymore.
