Went looking to see if I could find a ttrpg group, and they did not disappoint. Heather gave me a tour of the whole shop. Board games, RPG books, accessories, minis, paints, dice, work takes (rented use), game tables (rented use), and tcg cards. Walked out with a Pokémon box with a decent hit, and saw their interesting Washington Wyrm. I'm looking forward to going back.

I was extremely impressed with how clean and organized Sanctum is.. making it easy to find everything we were looking for.. Easily one of the most organized gaming stores I have visited.. My daughters and their friend loved the atmosphere throughout the store separating one section from another with various decorations, Small statues and figurines. I have not played fantasy board games in probably 30 years and my daughters never have but have been showing interest in it for a while. The staff was very kind and very helpful in providing us with information and resources that will help us to connect as well as begin playing. REALLY GOOD EXPERIENCE!!! 👍

A fantastic game store that is run by some wonderful people. Reasonable prices, and they do their best to make sure that local folks end up with the TCG product instead of catering to scalpers. Incredible selection of TTRPG books and accessories, giant dice pit, and miniatures galore. Board game selection is top notch, and they have a complexity rating on most boxes so you know what you are getting into before buying, if you aren't familiar with the product. Can't ask for a better LGS than the Sanctum. I hope they stick around for a long time!

This game store offers so many different game nights/evening. They also treat you how to play some games depending on the event. There is also a great game renting service. I can rent a few board games for a weekend with friends without purchasing and taking up space in my home.

Full disclosure: I'm friends with the owners. But even if I wasn't, it wouldn't change my opinion that this is hands-down the nicest gaming store I've visited. It's spacious and well-lit, with a comfortable gaming area and easy-to-browse shelves. There are no weird smells, claustrophobic aisles, or shedding cats running around (as I've experienced with other stores in the area). Other interesting features include the used game section, games available for rental, and a selection of oddball snacks and drinks (Japanese imports, weird jerkies, etc). The Sanctum is a great hangout place I'm sure I'll be back to time and time again. Highly recommended!

The Sanctum is an amazing place! From the minute I walked in, I was greeted and asked if I was looking for anything specific. The staff were knowledgeable, kind, and helped me find everything I needed. I haven't done much but look around and purchase a few items, but the discord seems to be active and thrilling. There are always events going on. Truly a great place to relax, play some games, and see some cool nerd stuff!

The Sanctum Tabletop Gaming Emporium is the best gaming store I have ever visited. From the selection, to the wide array of Dungeons and Dragons books and memorabilia, this is one to add to your list. Thank you to Zach and Janet for running such an incredible store! I will definitely be coming back.

Google
Very comfortable play environment with lots of selection for games. However, if you're looking for magic cards they often have limited selection. They do not buy or sell single cards, but if you're looking for accessories then there is lots to choose from. Seating for playing is very comfortable and doesn't feel cramped at all.

Yelp
(Originally posted mid2022) We stopped by The Sanctum last week--three times! We first went to get a copy of the Star Wars Outer Rim expansion. We weren't certain if they'd have it since the game was only released that day. They did! We were so impressed, we stopped by later with our son and checked the store out. Their inventory was quite impressive. They had games of all types as well as other items like dice, card protectors, and puzzles. They also had an impressive selection of games to rent--we're not sure what game to rent first! Also, their collection of used games is diverse and well-priced. Finally, their gaming area is attractive. It's well-lit with comfortable seating. Each time we came in, we were greeted by a friendly staff. In fact, when I was pondering a game they had open and on display, an employee came over to explain the game to me. Very helpful. We'll definitely be spending more time (and money) at the Sanctum. What a great place!! (Update, Six months later: As we expected, six Sanctum has successfully prompted us to spend more money on games and game-adjacent items. The owners are wonderful--we've taken several of their recommendations and no regrets. The space has matured and morphed, and we love the changes. We've rented games, tried a game night, joined their frequent buyers program, bought and sold used games, and purchased numerous gifts for gamers and non-gamers. Sometimes we stop in just because we love the vibe of the place. We did that last night and bought the early release of the Wingspan expansion. Couldn't be happier to have them in the neighborhood!)

Yelp
Since moving to Milwaukee from Minneapolis, I've been missing my beloved Gamezenter, and have been looking for a good TTRPG-friendly local game store. I've been disappointed in the TTRPG scene in Milwaukee. All of the game stores target board games, miniature games, or collectible card games. None I've visited have good play spaces for tabletop role-playing games. I was losing hope--but am thrilled to have discovered The Sanctum. I drove out to The Sanctum Tabletop Gaming Emporium in Racine to play a one-shot of Mork Borg this evening. What a treasure of a FLGS! It's an over half-hour drive from where I live in Milwaukee, but it is worth the drive for an evening of playing a TTRPG. It is not a huge space but they use the space very well. It is the best laid out and decorated FLGS I've been to. There are so many thoughtful touches from the aisle signage to the wall decor. They don't have anywhere near the number of tables that my go-to FLGS in the Twin Cities (Gamezenter) has, but they do a decent number and they are divided up into a small maze of rooms in a way that you don't have the loud con-like levels of noise that larger spaces suffer from. They have a number of single table rooms as well. The private game rooms have cool decorations. The one I played in was decorated based on Call of Cthulhu with tentacled base reliefs along the wall, a wall with a large old-school link chat taking up most of a wall connecting newspaper clippings, photos, etc. Even the furniture had an old early 1900s vibe, from the nice wood table, a wooden china cabinet displaying some near-east looking urn, etc. I wanted to check out the other private game rooms but people were playing in them. The chairs were comfortable. They follow the rent-a-table model. For reserved or open play, you pay $5 for a day pass. But the $5 you pay can also be used as in-store credit. You need a minimum of two people to reserve a table. They give you a custom Sanctum metal coin, which is a cool touch. I gave mine to the DM that ran the game I played at, but I want to go back sometime and get a coin just to keep. I know that the rent-a-table model can be controversial. My FLGS in the Twin Cities, Gamezenter, experimented with this model, but ended it in under a year. But I don't know how creating great play spaces for TTRPGs works otherwise. Stores that get away with not doing this tend to rely on Magic and other CCG events. CCG optimized spaces make for less than ideal TTRPG spaces and TTRPGs tend to get sidelined at stores focused on CCGs. The Sanctum is a great example of how to make this work and feel worth it. The money you pay can be used as store credit. You get an great place to play and it gives you access to their game rental library. They also have free wifi. They sell a small selection of sodas and snacks, but do not have a kitchen. They do allow you to bring outside food and beverages. Personally, unless the FLGS sells really good food, I prefer this model. There are plenty of fast food and take-out places nearby. Another thing that stands out with The Sanctum is their great website. Very clear and easy to reserve tables and find upcoming games and events. Most FLGS websites are awful. Also, it was a pleasant surprise to see games other than D&D and Pathfinder. They even have a page on their website listing other FLGS in the area, which I thought was pretty classy. They also have consignment shelves for selling used games. In short, I'm happy to have found a great FLGS for TTRPGs in reasonable driving distance. The Sanctum will be my go to for TTRPGs.
