I had my pre-birthday celebration with my son at The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant yesterday and it did not disappoint. A beautiful view from the deck (first come, first served in this area there are no reservations) and the wonderful weather made it extra special. Price wise I find it within the range of other top-rated restaurants in Vancouver. Perhaps the only price I found slightly excessive was the 9oz glass of Merlot, but everything else was reasonable. Now, about the taste: exquisite. Garlic Truffle fries that seemed to melt in my mouth, Clam Chowder that would’ve been even more amazing if served in a bread bowl. For the main meal my son had a poke bowl that was fresh and tasty and I had the seafood hot-pot. Everything was really delicious. The only reason I didn’t give service 5 stars was because I mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday and unlike every other place I’ve visited when celebrating my anniversary, it was completely disregarded. Maybe I’m too used to small gestures that go the extra mile in terms of customer service. Regardless, I will definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful time at Sandbar. The food was exceptional. The waiter was very charming but struggled a bit getting the bills sorted and forgot to bring us some extra chips to finish the dip when we asked twice. We ended up giving up and not reminding for a third time. He was extremely polite and I think he was just overwhelmed with our large group. Food was amazing. Recommendation: the heaters that are placed above the tables get very hot. When they are turned off the cold returns. Would recommend a heater that is more adjustable for temperature. Thank you for the great experience and food!

Absolutely outstanding dining experience. The sushi was particularly great, as was the service. The squid from the wok was delicious as well if you enjoy hot food. Excellent value for money overall, so I highly recommend the Sandbar. See for yourself and ask for a table by the window.

Prepare for exceptional service and delicious food! Our lunch experience on a lively Saturday afternoon was made truly special by Omar, our incredible server. He was not only friendly and approachable but also offered insightful suggestions and was wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. It's rare to find such high-caliber service on a busy day! The menu is a treat! We savored every bite of the perfectly cooked crab cakes, the rich and satisfying artichoke and crab dip, the plump and flavorful prawns, and the surprisingly zesty spicy green beans. Each dish was a testament to the quality of ingredients and skillful preparation. And for dessert? The chocolate truffle cake was an absolute dream – rich, decadent, and the perfect sweet ending. If you're looking for a fantastic meal in Vancouver, look no further!

Sandbar serves delicious and fresh seafood. We enjoyed our dinner on the heated patio overlooking the water and it was absolutely lovely. Crab cakes are a must try. We also had grilled salmon, chicken corn chowder as well as cod with jasmine rice. Couldn't skip the creme brulee for dessert! Everything was fresh and their service was great so we will visit again!

The restaurant had a cozy and beautiful atmosphere, and the staff were amazing. I ordered the fish and chips, and honestly, that was the main reason I went to Granville Island that day — but I didn’t like it at all. It was extremely greasy, with oil literally dripping from it. I’ve never had fish and chips that oily in Vancouver before. However, my friend had the salmon and soup and really enjoyed their meal.

I quietly accomplished something I’ve been working toward for years, and when it came time to celebrate, I asked myself: How can I indulge without going too overboard? Seafood, of course. And where better than a spot I’ve heard rave reviews about—even back when I lived across the country? The Sandbar on Granville Island did not disappoint. In fact, from now on, it’s officially my celebration place for as long as I live in Vancouver. The meal was absolutely fabulous, elevated even further by a live jazz performance—just a grand piano, a talented player/singer, and a perfect soundtrack to an unforgettable dinner. I ordered prawns, a lobster tail, and scallops. I could have eaten 20 more plates—not because the portions were small (they weren’t), but because the food was that good. Truly the best seafood I’ve had outside my hometown on the North Atlantic coast. (And trust me, I still haven't found anything to beat cod cheeks and tongues.) This is the first time I’ve ever given a 100 out of 10. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server didn’t need to write anything down, knew the menu inside and out, and offered a wine pairing when the Gewürztraminer I wanted wasn’t available. I ended up with a white Riesling, and honestly? I’d choose it again. Perfect match. Also, I won’t lie—he was easy on the eyes. Totally professional, though. Just a top-tier server. Those are hard to come by these days, even in a city overflowing with restaurants. As someone who used to work in fine dining, I can be a little picky about service and presentation—but The Sandbar got everything right. The lobster was plated beautifully, cooked perfectly, and so delicious I forgot to even take a picture before digging in. And the final surprise? The bill. I was expecting to pay somewhere between $150–200 before tip, but the total came to just around $100 CAD. Incredible value for such a high-caliber experience. This was, without question, the best dining experience I’ve had in my five years in Vancouver. A Gastown favorite of mine has officially been dethroned. If you love seafood—just go. You won’t regret it.

Google
It's an iconic place to dine in. There is nothing new that I could add to the already stellar reviews. We went on a special occasion and pleased with the food and service. It was a bit too noisy for us, and a lot of falling and crashing dinnerware noise. The food was fresh and hot, but it was a little bland for us. It would be great if they could have customized levels for different taste bud. Overall it was a nice experience, would surely visit again in the future.

Yelp
The Sandbar is a cool restaurant nestled underneath the Granville Bridge on Granville Island. It boasts an impressive view of the peninsula on the other side of False Creek. Food at the Sandbar is very similar to its sister restaurant, Cardero's, on the opposite side of the peninsula. We started with the Har Gow, shrimp & pork dumplings, which were served with hot mustard and chili sauce. My companion had the Clam chowder, and I had the fire-grilled sablefish (black cod). Both were very good. As at Cardero's the accompanying vegetables are nothing to write home about. Service was pleasant, and you can't beat the view.

Yelp
Nestled in Granville Island, with views of the water and boats! The place is huge and offers a variety of table tops. We got a booth which is my preferred! Came on a Thursday during lunch time and it was BUSY! Service was nice but pretty slow. We ordered the HUMMUS (olive tapenade, feta, grilled naan). The olive tapenade was more red pepper or sun-dried tomato. I thought it would be black olive tapenade but it was still good. It comes with 6 pieces of naan. The feta must be mixed in the tapenade. It was good but at $17.50, it was a bit ridiculous for what it was. Very garlicky and oily as well. Which I don't mind. I got the GRILLED PRAWN THAI NOODLE SALAD (rice noodles, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, cabbage, soy lime cilantro vinaigrette, cashew sauce) but subbed the prawn for tofu (at a lesser price). The tofu was perfectly crispy. The dressing was good but needed more IMO. They had huge chunks of cucumber and peppers which I wanted slices smaller. The noodles were not good. They were stale or old. Not soft at all. Otherwise, the salad was good. My friend ordered the WOK TOSSED LOCAL MUSSELS and loved it and the quality of mussels. The broth was rich and heavy garlic!

Yelp
If you're in Vancouver, BC, you must visit this popular spot. Expect it to be busy. We stopped a bit earlier than supper time and got a table outside. It was lovely, and we had nice weather that day. We had a good view of the water and bridge. 4 of us, and we all shared an app and ordered separate entrees. Expect it to cost a bit, too, although if you arrive early enough, there may be some happy hour specials on drinks and food. We took advantage of that. Overall, the service, food, and vibe are excellent. Highly recommended when in Vancouver.

Yelp
When you're atGranville Island, the sandbar is a great place to go. Food is always good. There was a promo at the time for a bottle of oyster bay wine, and a dozen oysters for $65 if I remember correctly! We also got the salad with chicken, which was huge and the scallop entrée with potatoes. I heard good things about the pistachio dessert so I want to get that too, but we were too full from all the food!

Yelp
Seen this restaurant as soon as we drive into Granville island. We walked around and decided to get a quick drink and appetizer. We sat outside and had a water view with all the boats. Very nice clean place. They also had the football games on inside. It was cold out and we asked for the heaters. They turned them on right way. It was nice and toasty before our food came. The service was very quick and attentive. They cleaned our table off right away We ordered the sandbar tower. The oysters were so yummy and fresh. The prawns were big and served with mussels and clams. They gave a good amount of crab! The ahi and salmon was both paired perfectly with lots of flavor. The maple shrimp was the best! Way better than honey walnut shrimp. It's a must order. Would love to come back here for dinner and try their entree.

Yelp
Beautiful top notch service presentation and food. They were playing some nice Taylor swift upon arrival which was perfect but then some lounge singer came in and was blah! My sable fish was wood fired and flavored. They could do better with the sweet tea offered as it seemed canned not fresh and I'm certain they could do this. It's a wonderful setting also. Our server was funny and had a hint of Frodo baggins about him!

Yelp
YES! YES! YES! I rarely give five stars, but this restaurant deserved it. We ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with truffle Parmesan fries and a side of a lobster tail. My BFF and I split it and it was the perfect amount of food and it was so delicious. Our servers name was Amanda. She was very kind and let us know that she had split the meal so we didn't have to split it and we were able to get more fries. I would highly recommend coming here for the views, the service and the food.

Yelp
Great location at Granville island overlooking the water Pros - good selection of seafood and drink specials. One of the few places to get freshly chucked oysters. Large interior with several floors. Fast and reliable service. Cons - bit pricey Great place to enjoy some fresh seafood and overlook the water and downtown Vancouver

Yelp
Very accommodating staff- we wanted roof top seating and they allowed us to sit with our drinks downstairs until there was a table large enough to seat us, which was so nice! The roof top offers a lovely view of the bay and downtown. The food was really good, enough veggie options- good tourist spot

Yelp
One line review: Nice spot for a special dinner. To be honest, Sandbar is at a higher price point than our usual night out. But a generous friend gave us a a gift certificate, and we were very happy to try it. We ordered: - Caesar salad - Wok tossed squid - Scallops pan fried - Wild sockeye salmon grilled After the salad, which was only average (mild, no anchovy flavour), everything was well-executed. The calamari was tender and well-fried (not oily). Our entrees were good. The views from the restaurant can be really nice. Our window had a somewhat obscured view, so we had to move a bit to get the view. Parking can be a bear at Granville Island, but we found one of the free spots with a bit of hunting. Bottom line: Not cheap but good. A nice night out if you can afford it.

Yelp
I have only been to this venue a few times but every time has been great ! the service has always been phenomenal and the food delicious, well-presented and perfect sized portions. The ambiance is also lovely: lots of wood and nautical theme but in an elegant way. The menu is not huge which is nice because the varied menu they offer has something for everyone and what they do offer they do well! The prices are a bit higher than an average establishment but this is a 'nicer' venue. That being said, it is not over the top for the type of food and service. One can find from simple salads to lobster tails and halibut and a lot in between. Definitely worth eating here also because of the lovely venue and view: in the heart of Granville Island with False Creek adjacent!

Yelp
Fantastic food, incredible service and wonderful ambiance. Our waiter Omar was very attentive, charming and very sociable. Provided lots of tips with respect to the generous and varied menu. Between the four of us, we had the salmon, seafood hot curry pot and the sushi platter. Every thing was delicious: perfectly seasoned and cooked. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Our ferry "captain" recommended Sandbar as the place to go on Granville Island but it fell short of my expectations. Cocktails were okay but not a standout among them. The Brussels sprout were charred and again nothing special. The view, however is spectacular, and perhaps covers for the lackluster menu. The elevator for use of those unable to conquer stairs is in horrendous shape, wheezing and heaving its way up and down and ultimately refusing to release its passengers. So many good options in the area, this seemed more show.

Yelp
Ate dinner with two work colleagues on the rooftop. Enjoyed the views and service was excellent. My fish was incredible, truly enjoyable miso flavor. Also had the oysters and they were wonderful.

Yelp
Updating this after a date night here last night. Service was MUCH better during dinner service and the staff was very attentive. They even split up our dishes we shared without us asking and surprised us with a complimentary cake for our anniversary. The food was very good and fish was fresh as you would hope from a place right on the water. Again the vibe is the star of the show but i was extremely impressed with the service last night!

Yelp
We were told that the sandbar had great drinks and an incredible view, both were spot on. We came for happy hour and had awesome appetizers, delicious drinks and enjoyed staring out the windows from the bar. Worth a trip to enjoy a drink and the view alone.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for seafood, we came specifically to have the Dungeness crab and it did not disappoint! Service was great as well, I received a cake because we mentioned we were visiting Vancouver to celebrate my birthday-it was a lovely and unexpected touch.

Yelp
I ate here for dinner one night on a work trip while visiting Granville Island. This place looks like this huge wooden structure outside. Inside it's all wooden too like a cabin. I was confused with the menu because it was like Canadian but they had an in-house sushi chef with a sushi menu too. I didn't quite understand the identity of this restaurant. I actually had my doubts about this place thinking it was going to be super touristy. They had a live musician playing the piano while everyone was dining. There are multiple levels to this establishment as well. Food is pricy considering it looked pretty casual from the inside. I ordered the sable fish and it was SO GOOD! I was so shocked. It was perfectly cooked and delicious and fresh. I also got a glass of prosecco. A great dinner spot!

Yelp
We dined at The Sandbar seafood restaurant and were thoroughly impressed! The restaurant offers sweeping views of False Creek, complete with yacht and boat traffic that added to the charming atmosphere. The outstanding service and delicious food made for an unforgettable experience. The menu is diverse, offering choices ranging from seafood to sushi to steaks. The scallops were a definite highlight--crispy seared on the outside with a creamy, tender interior. I ordered the appetizer version, which featured four large scallops in a delightful lemony butter sauce. The clam chowder was another standout. Unlike the thick, porridge-like chowders found elsewhere, this one was light and flavorful, just the way we prefer it. The Brussels sprouts and Parmesan fries were hot and delicious, perfect side dishes to our meal. We even splurged on the flourless chocolate torte with a raspberry sauce base. Paired with hot coffee to balance the sweetness, it was the perfect end to a fabulous meal. To top it all off, the live music was pitch perfect--a man with a guitar and a great voice that enhanced the already wonderful The Sandbar provided a stellar dining experience that we highly recommend! We'll be back!

Yelp
Came here to have an anniversary dinner with my partner! We had kusshi oysters to start. They were delicious--light, fresh, and not too briney (my preference!) Then we had seared scallops, a lobster tail, roasted lingcod, and wood-fired sablefish. All the sides/appetizers came out at the same time as the mains. My preference would've been for them to come out first and then the mains. The seared scallops were really good--a light crispy sear and the butter sauce was delicious!! So tender for my soft mouth. The lobster tail came with a butter sauce and was similarly delicious! I love the meatiness of lobster tail. The sablefish was so good! Marinated for 24 hours in a miso sauce and it shows--the flavour really shined throughout each bite. We were sharing everything so the kitchen kindly split the sablefish on two plates for us. The lingcod wasn't as good--I wish there was more red thai curry to go with it because the fish itself was pretty bland. I also think it might have been a minute overcooked. The garden vegetables for both were okay--I would've liked slightly more seasoning. The chocolate cake dessert was so rich! Love the chocolate with raspberry. Wish there was more coulis to combat the richness/heaviness of the cake though. And I wish there was more texture than just mousse. I needed something crunchy to contrast! Service was really great! We had one mixup with the dessert and it took a while to come, but our server came by to update us and quickly remedied it. Ambiance was really nice--we were sat in a booth next to the water. Felt very private and lovely. Sound didn't travel too much from the large party groups around! There were fish hanging from the ceiling which was really neat!

Yelp
Walked over to Granville Island Market from my hotel on Burrard, wanted something light and good for lunch. A shop proprietor said The Sand Bar was the place. She told me where to ask to sit as well. The hostess sat me at a table with a big comfy chair and a decent view. My Thai prawn salad was very good, felt the service was a bit pretentious. Had to continually ask for water refill. Waiter would fill other tables and ignore my empty glass. Maybe because I was solo? Who knows, felt odd.

Yelp
A nice quiet haven of a restaurant in a rather chaotic tourist area of Granville Island. The views are striking, and it's fun to watch the boat activity outside the windows. The restaurant is literally tucked under the bridge to the mainland. The place is obviously geared toward seafood offerings, which are very fresh and available in this area. After perusing the menu, I decided to have a bowl of clam chowder and the salmon burger with fries to follow. The chowder is New England creamy style, and it was quite appealing. It was a good portion, and the class plus all the ingredients were fresh. The creamy consistency was perfect. The salmon burger was also excellent, and I enjoyed the onion and tartar sauce to top it off. The salmon piece was quite large and well cooked. The fries were also delicious. The service was friendly and proficient. I washed it down with a Granville Hefeweisen draft beer. All good, although you do feel like you're in the center of a tourist trap mecca.

Yelp
Great location on Granville Island, former home of Mulvaney's, in a prior incarnation the lounge / dance floor was a local hotspot. Well, The Sandbar isn't Mulvaney's, the dance floor has been reclaimed as dining space and it seems like things might have taken a turn for the worse since Covid. It is super noisy due to the high ceilings, wooden timber structure. If you arrive early enough you should be able find paid Granville Island parking. Open table allows for online booking, convenient for larger parties. Our group arrived on time and we were promptly seated at our table. First issue, table was set for the wrong # of guests, that was sorted out in 10 minutes or so. From there things continued to deteriorate, it took a very long time before our server took a beverage order, 30 + minutes before cocktails arrived. It looks like they have a shortage of service staff, somewhat surprising for a Saturday evening. Food took quite a while to come up overall. Our group ordered a variety of appetizers, sushi and mains. Apparently the clams were awful, the warm baguettes, fries and pizza were good. I ordered halibut - rice was blah, broccolini and mini red/yellow peppers seemed to accompany most mains. Steak with surf and turf was undercooked. Chicken was ok, as were some of the other dishes ordered. General feedback was the flavours were lacking, not a lot of spice or seasonings except in the spicy Szechuan green beans. Despite server being overworked she did an admirable job trying to handle all of the tables she was given. While I might return, some in our group wouldn't. Overall it was a pleasant time, meal cost was mid range.

Yelp
Amazing view and food!! If you want seafood and sushi, this is the spot! Their seafood tower (the Sandbarge) looked and tasted amazing. This was the main reason why we picked this restaurant. One of our birthday girls requested a seafood tower. Also, for limited time only on Sundays, they have the Seafood Boil for two!! There was so much seafood for only $99 (Canadian dollar). The huge lobster tail was my favorite. For non seafood peeps, one of our group order their NY steak, and he was happy with his order. The service was top-notch from the front to our server. Our server was super sweet to remember that two within our group of 8 were celebrating birthdays. He brought each girl a slice of birthday cake with a candle for dessert. As a parent of one of these teens, our server definitely made it special dinner. Afterward, I noticed they were free . For my dessert, I ordered their crème brûlée. Highly recommended this dessert..the caramel layer was thicker than I had before. So good!!! My sushi loving husband and friends said the sushi was amazing. Located off an alley the main street, so be on the lookout for their sign. Once inside, the restaurant is beautiful with a marina view. They occasionally have live music playing near the bar area. On our day, there was a lady playing the piano with a few of Sarah McLachlan's songs. Overall, the bill for our group was pricy, but we expected it to be. Considering the quality of seafood and sushi you get here, it would be so much more in any of the seafood or steak fine dining restaurants in the US (thanks to the strength of the US dollar, you're getting a great deal here). It was a celebration of two teen birthdays, and an unforgettable meal made it so worth the splurge. Definitely will return soon - special occasion or just for a special dinner out. Tips: For big groups, highly recommended making reservations. To ensure a window view, call ahead. Window tables are for 4 or fewer people. Parties of 6 or more will not have a table near the window, but you can still have a view of Vancouver marina.

Yelp
It's a tourist's place. Reception was so so. We had a very nice waiter, and that made a difference. We were misinformed and came for the king crab. They only had dungeness (sp?) The oysters on the half shell were good and the two beers I had were good - Main Street Kingpin Ale and Bomber Passionfruit Ale.

The food at the Sandbar was amazingly delicious!! The seafood boil was the best I ever had!

Yelp
Take the elevator or walk up the stairs. It's worth it. A wide open beautiful space awaits you. Nouva greeted us with a smile and promptly escorted us to our table. She was quite pleasant and checked on us frequently to make sure we had water or extra pita bread for the delicious humus appetizer we ordered. My Mediterranean Chicken Salad was delicious and was a generous size. My wife got a beet salad that she raved about. Paul, our waiter, made good conversation as well as good conversation. The public marketplace here is fun and fantastic. But when you want to sit in a real chair or booth, and be waited on while sitting down, this is the restaurant to go to.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The BI burger was great, I loved the taste of it. The fries we got were ready when we got them. After I finished the burger, I got a kids pasta dish. The pasta was okay I really wanted the pasta to have a little more flavor. Both of the dishes were great!! The service was alright, I don't give this restaurant five stars because it did take a little while to get the food. The ambiance was good. Everything about this restaurant was great! I recommend going here!

Yelp
Sit at patio if you can, they have a really beautiful view (im from desert so I adore the water view and the port). This stunning place is located in Granville Island, probably 10-15 min away from the Downtown Vancouver. I ordered some oysters, shirimp cocktail, and scotch. Everything was delicious and fresh, friendly service, and absolutely amazing atmosphere. I shall definitely come back once im in Granville Island again. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Yelp
After walking along the beach my next stop was Granville Island and I was already pretty hungry and being on the west coast with the ocean right there you have to try some seafood. The sandbar was the place my cousins and I ended up settling on and as soon as you walk in you can see the amazing charm of this building. 3 floors of beautiful decor and views of the pier that are amazing. The staff was very friendly and gave us info on the specials and what to get. I decided to get the tuna and had to try a side of scallops because I saw them come by. The food was out standing and I was so happy with the scallops so I highly recommend. Of course my only issue was for the size of the meal it was a tad expensive but other then that it was amazing and you should check this place out

Yelp
Was in Vancouver for just a day this week, and wanted to try some west coast oysters and brew. Alex was super helpful and friendly, allowed me to sample a few locally brewed beers to help me decide. The truffle fries were great, and the oysters were just what the doctor ordered. I settled on a hazy IPA- forgot the name. The restaurant is upstairs with a beautiful view of the Vancouver harbor and boats. Noarah was friendly and made sure the table was always spotless. This was a perfect quick lunch before I headed out to continue exploring the city. Thanks for the must see spot recs in Van City, Alex!

Yelp
Lived the vibe. Lots of windows allowed for great natural lighting overlooking the bay. Waitress was very nice and gave great service. Started with some sweet oysters on the half shell that came with a tarragon sauce, cocktail sauce, red wine vinegar, and shredded horseradish. For the main I had the Linguini Vongole, scallops, and a side of baguette. The linguine couldn't have been cooked better---perfect chew. There was a generous portion of clams in the shell. The sauce was garlicky, buttery, and had a ton of flavor. I also found spinach, cherry tomatoes, and extra whole pieces of clam meat all tossed up with the pasta. I loved this dish and would order it, again. The scallops were in a delicious beurre blanc sauce, however, I would have preferred less of a chew. The baguette was crusty in the outside and tender in the inside. Used it to sop up both the beurre blanc and the pasta sauce. Sandbar is on the pricey side, but if you want food that you know will be good and a place with an upbeat yet relaxing vibe, then you should check it out:

Yelp
Food is very very good- sushi is authentic and as good as Tokyo. Service is usually dry good and attentive as well as friendly. Ambiance is very nice with high ceilings great views of Coal Harbor and live music!

Yelp
Food was not very good, we had a noodle salad and noodles were uncooked. Pan fried fish was caked with some sort of spice mix (we were told it was simply pan fried with some oil). Service was good.

Yelp
On a mission to escape the prepping/cooking/cleaning that is a direct effect of a holiday meal, we found reservations at Sandbar for our Thanksgiving. And because it's owned by the same lot who own the Stanley Park Teahouse/Seasons in the Park/Carderos, they were offering the same Thanksgiving menu at all of their locations. So did we come to a seafood restaurant to order turkey? Yes, yes we did. The turkey dinner paired very nicely with a cranberry mocktail mule. The turkey came with a piece of white meat and two pieces of dark meat, it was covered in gravy and the stuffing was a loaf. There was roasted carrots and brussel sprouts as well and cranberry sauce, but I'd have to say the star was the turkey, gravy and cranberry combo. The turkey was juicy and well seasoned. The portion was filling but not stuffing, I didn't need to go for a walk afterwards. We also shared the pumpkin pot de creme dessert which was a nice change from stereotypical pumpkin pie. Light and creamy with all of the flavor you'd expect. All in all, this Thanksgiving dinner was a hit! Thank you Sandbar for helping us escape hours in the kitchen.

Yelp
The last time I was at the Sandbar was almost a decade ago and I remember that the food was just okay. They have really stepped up their game ever since then! We went on a Friday night and there was live music with a singer playing the piano. The vibe was very comfortable, family friendly, lots of people celebrating their birthdays and I felt very relaxed and happy with the vibe and energy of the room. The clam chowder and crab cakes were delicious! The ling cod from their fresh fish menu blew me away at how well they had executed cooking the fish! It was crispy on the outside, but super moist on the inside. The coconut rice that accompanied it was also super delicious. The only things I wish they could have been more generous with was perhaps adding more scallops for their dish just due to how small scallops are in general and same with their crab cakes. But overall I was very happy with the service, the food was cooked perfectly, awesome atmosphere, and the pricing was fare. I would definitely come back to try their other fish dishes next time!

Yelp
Another brilliant evening served by the captain. We sat down in the patio with heaters on and a gorgeous view of False Creek. Our food was wonderful as always. Seafood hot pot and be sure to get at least the half order of focaccia you don't want to miss that wonderful sauce, the linguine vongole ahi tuna poke and the fresh market halibut and the mussels in white wine were stellar. For dessert the crème brûlée and chocolate gauche were amazing. This is a fantastic restaurant where we will e going to celebrate all occasions. Check this restaurant out you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
The view is very nice and we always come here when we visit Granville island. The food was ok overall and desserts were the best. Service was on and off, so not sure what's happening there.

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary. Great view of the False Creek and downtown Vancouver. My bf and I are very satisfied with the food and the friendly service provided to us. Truffle fries were served warm and crunchy. The coho salmon was grilled to perfection and the seafood hotpot was simply amazing. The chocolate truffle cake was so decadent! Overall, we had an amazing experience. We would like to come back and try their other menu options.

Yelp
The Sandbar is not Handicap Accessible. Their rickety elevator is out of service as often as it is working, seemingly, and unless you can navigate narrow steep stairs, you are out of luck. It is not easy for a person with disabilities to even get to the door of the place to discover that the elevator is out of service

Yelp
Always a good experience at Sandbar. Server and food delivery was excellent. Sablefish and Ahi Tuna were very good. No comment on the dine out quality of the steak. We are not fussy steak eaters. We should've said something after spending $400. Very surprised on steak quality even for a seafood focused restaurant. Will still frequent Sandbar though as the sushi was very good too. The atmosphere always excellent.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. Server very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Poke bowl and arctic char were excellent!

Yelp
Parking: We were fortunate to find disabled parking between the public market and the sandbar on the first round. Only pay for parking between 10am-6pm. Ambience: Loud, upbeat great for gatherings. Service: The service was very welcoming! She shared the same birthday as our party which made it extra special. Food: I ordered all the bites off the happy hour menu. Overall: Great service and food

Yelp
Great seafood restaurant in the heart of Granville Island. The restaurant offers best views of False Creek. The restaurant has a west coast feel to it. Our server today, Raj is very attentive and quick. He can recite the specials and dessert menu off his head. That's impressive. We ordered a Signature Wok Squid to share as recommended by Raj. It's slices not rings of squid fried then sautéed in a mix of aromatics almost Asian in flavor. Not too bad. Our mains consisted of: *Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl *Fish and Chips *Sablefish in miso ginger glaze *Wild Sockeye Salmon in maple soy glaze While they claim seafood is their specialty, not all dishes were made equal. The last two dishes which were from the Fresh Sheet were impeccable while the first two were below my expectations. Sablefish and Salmon were done perfectly in their respective sauces and the carbs complimented well with them. Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl tasted a bit dry, it lacked sauce that's needed to bind the dish. It was neither citrusy nor spicy and a bit short of mayo. In other words, it didn't hit my stomach with the Oomph I was looking for. The hint of coconut on jasmine rice was just right though. Had it been more, it might altogether deviate from the essence of a poke bowl. Fish and Chips was very ordinary. Two portions of 4oz fish could have been done in a different version from a seafood restaurant. Overall, we had a good experience. I think the next time I'm back, I'll stick to my usual Linguine Vongole or order something from the Fresh Sheet.

Yelp
Pros Amazing views Delicious food Cons Horrible service by the hostess and management, especially if you're not of a certain persuasion. The waitstaff immediately starts service with an attitude as well. The hostess (on the afternoon of Saturday, July 13th) had us wait for a high top table for 40 minutes. She told us that is all they will have available in 40 minutes. We receive a text that our table was ready and proceed to check in with her. She sends us upstairs to be seated. Before us, another party walks up and is immediately seated, without a wait and at an indoor table with a view. We were seated in the patio area, literally back in the corner, keeping in mind it's a summer afternoon. I point all of the above out to the server who seated us, who in turn had the Manager come over to our table. I explain the situation. It's interesting how the prime indoor tables immediately become available after I make a complaint to the Manager. Not sure why we weren't seated at one of those available tables to begin with. This restaurant prioritizes seating based on your persuasion, which is clearly a systemic management issue. This is sad because they do a really great job with their food and are a hands down win on the location front.

Yelp
I don't generally eat here and haven't in a long time as it's largely a tourist spot. Pros Friendly staff Great views Decent local beer and wine list Really good focaccia Cons Food quality is so so - was actually better than I expected but mostly Cisco/GFS stuff it seemed like, salad was on par with Subway Service - while being friendly, like everywhere I am sure they are struggling for labour. No one checked on us the entire meal or filled our water glasses and dirty dishes stayed on the table a very long time!

Yelp
Very good experience as we had lunch and went back for dinner. The pepperoni pizza was quite good as well as the seafood bouillabaisse. A special treat were the sweet oysters from the Vancouver area.

Yelp
Everything was perfect! We got the truffle pizza and it was AMAZING! The kids cheese pizza was pretty big and yummy! Had some local beers overlooking the harbor on the patio! Our server was super friendly. I'm surprised the Yelp score in this one isn't higher! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Atrocious experience. Me and my delightful family waited over an hour just to be told our food wasn't inputted into the system. I am now furious and would not want anybody to share the same experience. Although, food service was awfully slow, Pitbull (Mr. Worldwide) made an appearance and kept me company during these trying and tragic times. Enter at your own risk. I sure do love poke bowls and a salmon and avocado roll hand-crafted for over an hour. Food still ain't done
