Great location at Pointe-du-Chêne near the wharf. The seafood chowder was awesome. I loved my fish & chips. My spouse enjoyed her lobster roll but she gave 11 over 10 to the chowder. Excellent service all around. Recommended!

I do love shrimp, but I’m not a fan of fish smells. I ordered the large seafood chowder ($44), and it was absolutely perfect — I finished every last spoonful. The wait was about 20 minutes, and the atmosphere was great. A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.

Had an amazing lunch at The Sandbar! We were warmly greeted, the terrace was sunny and perfect, and the daiquiri was delicious. We had the shrimp pesto linguine and the bistro alfredo with shrimp — both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. Great service, great vibes. Highly recommend! 🌞🍤🍹

SO MUCH FUN! Great seaside food, boatside food and all the local treats you love... scallops, haddock, lobster. Lots of happy diners, lots of joyful noise and smiles. Your smile can be here too!

The food was decent, I ordered the lobster roll with fries and coleslaw - it wasn’t the greatest lobster roll I’ve had, but it was okay. (Especially for $26) I don’t know why they even bother giving you the side of coleslaw when it’s literally only one bite size. I do have to add that the drink I ordered was amazing though. It was our first time here, and I am sad to say that we won’t be returning because the “vibe” and decor were so nice, being oceanfront with the option of sitting on the patio over the water, but it’s not worth it when the service was not the greatest and I find the food overpriced. Our server had an attitude which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I also did not expect to pay $4 to get into the parking lot with no other free parking options nearby.

Spending a couple days in Shediac and decided to grab dinner here. We split the Crab and Spinach Dip as an app, which was really good, they did not skimp on the crab. For my main I had the Seafood Deluxe, which was good, I found the best part of the dish was the fried shrimp. I had to pay 4 dollars to go into the area, parking was a little hard to find because it was Canada Day, on a regular day I don't think that would be the case. Service was great, we had our drinks almost immediately after we ordered them.

First time in my life that I’ve been overwhelmed by the portion of the seafood. Not only delicious but also generous, albeit a bit pricy. Their Long Island iced tea is also very good. Definitely recommend!

Loved everything about it. Food, vibe, service, location, views, A+++++!!!! We went for dinner, the lobster roll and chicken club sandwiches are what you see in the photo. Delicious!

Yelp
Visiting a friend who moved to Moncton. Paid $4 to get on the wharf and parked in front of the restaurant. We were optimistic as there was a line of people out the door. Casual atmosphere with option to sit booth, raised table or outdoor patio. Staff is young and dressed in comfortable polo top and shorts. Super nice and prompt with drink and food service. Drinks were yummy and food was phenomenal! 2 of us ordered seafood deluxe, lobster roll and appetizer size of seafood chowder...way too much of food which we had to take home...SUGGESTION to the restaurant: offer seafood chowder in a cup (appetizer size is too much for just want to get a "taste") and offer to make available as possible side for seafood deluxe for additional $10! Great meal, atmosphere and service!

Yelp
Mussels with sauce were delicious! Shirley temple (non alcoholic) was good! The restaurant has beautiful ocean view through window.

Yelp
Party of 5 for dinner. Arrived during what should be a busy time and were seated with a beautiful view within minutes. Drinks were quick to arrive and were refreshed as often as we'd like. Staff were very efficient and friendly yet didn't rush us. Perfect. Two guests had the fish and chips which they thoroughly enjoyed. Two had their new salmon bowl. At first it looked like a smaller portion but no! The salmon was plentiful, the veggies including avocado and pickled onion were delicious and a great combination on a bed of rice. Would totally have again. Our last guest had a chicken bowl and substituted the honey garlic with sweet Thai chili. They also thoroughly enjoyed this. Only odd thing was no offer of coffee and dessert. Guess they'd like you to pop next door for that. We were too stuffed in any case. Lovely atmosphere, spectacular views, great servers and excellent food! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Waited about 30 mins for a table and then food came within 45 ish minutes but that was fine because we were warned that's how long it would take which we appreciated. Server was nice. We sat on the patio at some cheap plastic tables but I didn't mind that either. We got the mussels as an appetizer and that was the star of the show. They were in this delicious cream sauce and so after you eat them you dip the toasted ciabatta in it, and it was SO delicious. I got the fish and chips as my main and I was very disappointed. The fish was bland and the fries are the same fries you buy in the frozen section at Costco. I know because I make these fries all of the time. I don't recommend the fish and chips. I felt like crap after. And just lacking or flavour. My bf got mary's fish sandwich and he said it was way too much bread and he didn't care for it either. Our friend got the fried clams with the Costco fries and he liked the clams but was also upset about the fries. We all agreed that next time we go we will just go for the mussels and drinks.

Yelp
Location: In Shediac, on the wharf. There's plenty of parking though during peak season, I could see this area getting pretty packed! The place: Average decor - it's got plenty of seating (I think they also have seating outside but not 100% sure. The goods: I ordered a lobster roll and it came with home made fries. Both items were really good and personally, I had enough lobster meat in my roll. I felt pretty satisfied at the end of the meal. Service: Good. Price point: I don't remember but I think it was around $20. A bit expensive but that roll was pretty darn tasty!

Yelp
i really liked this place - fresh seafood, good views and good service. first time having lobster and i was impressed - as a city girl from the GTA this place was cozy and nice. the server was very patient and came by just enough to keep us happy. downside is they don't have coffee or any hot drinks but you wouldn't really expect it from the type of establishment it is. i'd comeback if i were ever in this city again!

Yelp
A quaint lobster shack on the wharf in Shediac . We visited off season, service was attentive and adequate as the waitress was being trained . Very quiet , nice view of the water . The seafood chowder was surprisingly good and hearty . Lobster roll was ok , Rockport rolls are better . Fries were tasty . Ceaser Bloody Mary was adequate... not as good as Quebec City . A fun touristy stop on your tour of New Brunswick .

Yelp
The food was very good, the service was great, the kitchen was quick. The poutine - 5 stars Fish and chips - 5 stars The extra piece of fish at $6 was a little pricey. Overall, this was superb and we will be returning.

Yelp
When you walk in the entrance and look to your left, all you see is the men's urinal at the end of the hall. Disgusting first impression for a restaurant. Mediocre, boring food. The owner deletes all negative reviews from his FB page. Go somewhere else that doesn't have a men's urinal greeting you.

Yelp
Ate here today and it wasn't worth the price unfortunately. Everyone was nice but the food was no where i expected it to be for the price. I'd find anywhere else to eat. The whole clams was $20 and there was no way they were whole. Fish and chips were just ok and to make anything into a pouting was an additional $5!!! So for 3 of us with no alcohol and only 2 sodas was $60 plus tip. The girls were super nice:)

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in there for a quick lunch. My wife ordered a lobster roll with fries; I decided to go with fish and chips. The food arrived at our table within minutes of us ordering. The paper lined plastic wicker baskets of food were steaming. The aroma of the whole meal was reminiscent of a bad sinus infection, until I added some lemon and vinegar to the dish. Then the aroma reminded me of spring cleaning at grandma's house. The fish was cooked to perfection; however, the flaccid fries were everything that I could have hoped to avoid. Upon first inspection, the fish had a breading on it that was as thin and light as gossamer. The top of the breading was crispy with a golden-brown hue, but the bottom of the breading was soggy and was easily torn apart by the weight of the fish alone. The fish was a thick cut of halibut, judging from the size and shape it was most likely from the tail section of the fish. The fish was juicy, glistening, and firm to the touch. When cut into, the fish flaked and came apart like an old fashioned homemade pie crust. The french fries were placed into the basket with the same care that a professional wrestler would use delivering a pile driver. The fries were a mottled white and brown colour, the flesh of the potato was masterfully used as canvas to deliver as much cooking oil as possible; they radiated an oily iridescence in the light. The first fry that I picked up was picked with care, in my fingers the fry was soggy and limp. When I bit into the fry it was just like having a spoonful of baby food, that was delivered via the cutlery airplane that came in for a landing in my mouth. The few fries that I tried were of the same caliber as the first fry. The fish left me wanting more, the fries were just wanting. In my opinion, even the seagulls would have left the quagmire of fries in the cheap plastic wicker basket.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Arrived at 7pm, got apps by 8:30pm dinner was served 10 minutes after appetizers arrived and the kitchen had run out of pasta. Go to the grocery store down the road and buy more if you run out. Pretty pathetic. Try Captain Dan's instead; I bet they have pasta. At least the alcohol kept flowing...fck

Yelp
Shameless. Absolutely the worst service ever experienced. We have dined all over the US, Europe and Canada and worked in the hospitality industry. Never have we experienced a manager treat or berate staff and customers like last week. Our table waited an hour for food. Not even a breadstick was offered. Unhappy hungry customers all around us. Allegedly the hostess was supposed to warn all customers that it would be a 40 minute wait for food. The Manager was unprofessional, aggressive, accusatory and simply ignorant after concerns were brought to his attention. He was even prepared for a fist fight with the customer. Unbelievable really. Kitchen understaffed, servers untrained and a Manager running the place like a three ring circus. Sadly the Sandbar is a shambles. Don't waste your money or time. Minus one rating.

Excellent food. Excellent view. Excellent service. Right in the water. The atmosphere is great! The owner is in site talking with clients and making sure they are having an good experience!

Yelp
The longest wait for mediocre food in Shediac, NB. We were seated at 7:45pm on |Canada Day 2014. The place was busy, but soon thinned out by 8pm. The dinner crowd was leaving. The server was quick, efficient. The kitchen staff...not so much. One hour passed, several drinks have passed, and a complimentary beer in a can had passed (which I refused...very insulting). The server was overheard discussing kitchen staff issues with another table. The servers were all pressing the kitchen staff to get it together. There were more than a few unhappy tables. The server was really insulted when she was told by the kitchen staff to F***off. Obviously she didn't know what else to say at that point. Another 20 minutes pass...still no food. We gave the server a 5 minute ultimatum...no food, we leave, along with 2 other tables behind us. My dinner showed up, a simple burger and potatoes. My wife didn't get her meal. My burger was burnt, and had been sitting under a warming lamp. The pickle laying over top the bun was warmer than the actual burger. My suggestion to that poor server that had to deal with the kitchen nonsense: you're great. Go get a McJob. You will gain more experience there than this un-managed pub. Sure, you might see some reviews, showing 4 and 5 stars. If you are a 20 something looking for a drinking pub, this is it. If you are a family looking to eat, go to Moncton and find a real restaurant. This place needs professional management to take over and turn it into a real restaurant, not a college pub.
