The Sandhya (Ahangama, South-West Coast) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Standing out from the traditional guesthouses and villas on Sri Lanka’s idyllic Kabalana Beach, the Sandhya is a modern boutique hotel that’s sleek but understated. The two-story structure, lined with floor-to-ceiling glass revealing magnificent views of the Indian Ocean, is the passion project of its Singaporean owner, who aimed to build the ideal beach house for design-conscious travelers. With stylish mid-century modern interiors, a gorgeous lobby lounge, and a swimming pool crafted out of a repurposed shipping container, his mission was well accomplished." - Tablet Hotels

I would give 6 stars if I could! Everything was exceptional: the room, the common areas, the food, the breakfast, the pool, everything was beyond amazing! Special mention to the staff which was really nice, friendly, and always available for every request, they are doing a great job. It is definitely the best hotel we have stayed at in Sri Lanka, we would love to be back one day and would 100% recommend it!

The Sandhya Hotel in Sri Lanka is absolutely amazing with its breathtaking views, luxurious rooms, and beautiful tropical surroundings. The property itself is a paradise haven that perfectly captures the island's natural beauty. However, the quality of customer service is a little poor. Despite the wonderful setting, service delays and unresolved requests detracted from what could have been a perfect experience. A stunning property that unfortunately needs improvement on the service side.

We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our trip. Absolutely loved the hotel and the location. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food and drink was good. The beers could have been slightly colder though. The bedrooms were extremely nice and comfortable. It is a very small adults only hotel with just 8 rooms I believe, finished to a very high standard. The pool area is exceptionally comfortable with very easy access to an amazing beach area. We absolutely loved this hotel and Ahangama beach.

I brought my family to this hotel as it’s one of my favourite spots on the south coast and I have stayed here several times since it opened. We had taken a sea-plane flight from Kandy and needed a place to chill out and eat after a very early start. The staff could not have been any friendlier and attentive despite us not staying overnight in the hotel. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and the management even treated us to a wonderful complimentary bottle of champagne as they heard it was a very special occasion. My brother in law enjoyed it so much he is insisting we book to come and stay for some days next year so I can’t wait for that.

A stylish and charming boutique hotel with a beautiful entrance area and a well-maintained pool zone. The sun loungers were very comfortable, and the direct beach access was a major highlight—especially when compared to places like Mirissa and Unawatuna. In fact, the beach here was by far the most beautiful we experienced: wide, clean, and with fine sand. Restaurants are within walking distance, or just a quick 5-minute tuk-tuk ride away. Our room was excellent, featuring a high-end bathroom with two showers, and a balcony right by the pool. While there was no TV, we didn’t miss it at all. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be to serve water more proactively by the pool. Otherwise, the service was incredibly friendly and responsive—available even via WhatsApp for any questions. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious, with several options to choose from. The only downside was the price, which was already very high before New Year's compared to similar places.
