The Sandhya

Just left Sandhya after a three night visit, really lovely hotel with amazing staff, the views out to the sea never get tiring and the luxury of a private pool for guests only was lovely. It was close enough to the busy strip but far enough out to enjoy some peace from the busy road. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options to choose from. I would definitely recommend staying at The Sandhya.

We are currently staying at the Sandhya and it is completely and utterly faultless. We stayed here in February 24 and loved it then but with the new pool it is even better than ever.||The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them, our room is just fabulous and our breakfast each morning simply delicious.||If you are planning a trip to the Ahangama area then please don’t hesitate. This really is THE place to stay.||We will be back!

It’s Alana and Simon. If we could rate this 10/ 10 we would . From the most Perfect location on the beach, amazing food delivered to your banana lounge, Super clean, comfiest beds. Really Friendly service, It’s So well thoughout, We would not stay anywhere else and we have pretty high standards! 😀😀😀 see you again

Pros: The staff are beyond lovely, and went over and above to accommodate our requests. Thank you again. We celebrated my husband's birthday here and they went out of their way to get us two lovely cakes although we hadn't warned them in advance. The property is right on the beach and accessible although the stairs to the beach are a bit steep and may be difficult for those who are disabled Cons: The rooms in general are not very thoughtful although they look well designed. No kettles, no intercom to get to the reception, the windows opened with quite a struggle onto the pool area. The pool does not seem to be cleaned too often of bugs. We were given ground floor rooms (this was a prior request). I was fairly... whelmed with the property but still want to appreciate the efforts of the staff - yes there were delays in delivery but it seems to be a problem more to do with understaffing

Lovely location, wonderful staff. There are no TVs in the rooms, but they have a common TV area. Anyway, you would want to spend your entire time sitting outside or on the beach! Highly recommended.

I would give 6 stars if I could! Everything was exceptional: the room, the common areas, the food, the breakfast, the pool, everything was beyond amazing! Special mention to the staff which was really nice, friendly, and always available for every request, they are doing a great job. It is definitely the best hotel we have stayed at in Sri Lanka, we would love to be back one day and would 100% recommend it!

Not suitable for three adults! The extra bed was a short folding one, completely unsuitable for an adult, yet they charged about $80 extra for it. There wasn’t enough hot water for three people – something basic any hotel should provide. Very disappointing experience and poor response from the owner.

Terrible experience!||Do not book a room for three adults. The so-called “extra bed” is a short, uncomfortable folding bed that no adult can sleep on, yet the hotel shamelessly charges around $80 extra for it. There was also no hot water for three people, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel.||||We spent an entire week trying to reach a senior manager with no response at all. Only after we left did the owner finally reply — rudely, saying the hotel was now “closed to us.” Our request for a refund for the extra bed was refused.||||A total scam and an absolute disgrace for a hotel that claims to be high-end.
