Had a walk along the river Wye to visit the Saracens Head Inn that, from the opposite river bank, is about 3-1/2 miles (crossing the suspension bridge) hoping to cross back on the ferry only to find that it wasn't working. (No notice on the west bank that they were not running the ferry). We had lunch here before walking all the way back, but the food was worth the walk. I had Gammon Steak (the biggest I've ever had anywhere before), and it was very tasty. A good selection of ales and spirits are on offer. Would recommend that you book a table if eating as it gets very busy (even in February). Great views along the river from beer garden.

We called in for lunch. WOW!. First of all the Staff were Brilliant. We arrived 'literally' a few minutes before 2pm (kitchen closed at 2pm) and they were great. Thank You. The choice of Real Ales were amazing - I had the locally brewed Butty Bach - moreish! We both had the Fish & Chips (with mushy peas & tartare sauce). Definitely the best F&S that we've ever had in a pub. To have a lovely crispy batter on perfectly cooked fish, was amazing. The chips were unbelievable as well. Can see why the pub is very popular.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Excellent service from everyone without exception. They work hard and they're happy. It makes the place. Restaurant was really good, a wide range of dishes and very nicely presented. We particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfasts which were imaginative and a welcome change from the usual boring full English.

We have just returned from a one nights stay at the gorgeous Saracens Head Inn. We have visited previously for food and drinks, but we have never stayed overnight and we are so glad we did! We had the most amazing time and didn’t let Storm Bert stop us from venturing out on a 2 hour walk! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Max, who showed us to our room……room 8 which was just stunning…..beautiful view of the river and immaculately clean. Our evening meal and breakfast were superb. Hats off to the chef…the quality is 5 star. The Saracens really is gem of place and we can’t wait to visit again. Luckily we only live in Cardiff and are planning are next visit in Spring. Thank you so much to all the amazing friendly team…..and to Pete for helping me sort a gift voucher out for my daughter to come and stay ( she is so looking forward to it! ) You have a really special place and I would highly recommend to any body. See you again soon.

Six of us stayed here recently for two nights (Oct 2024). Very comfortable en suite rooms, good food, excellent bar, & a marvellous team of staff; on arrival we were welcomed by Greg, and were looked after very well by Jazz at the excellent breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location for local Wye Valley walks. Highly recommended! Chris what a lovely place you've got here and a team to be proud of.

Brilliant accommodation. The room was spacious and overlooked the river. The heating can be controlled individually which was a welcome change. Internet is not good infact very poor and no phone signal but all the better for turning off electronics. The evening meal and breakfast was outstanding. I would highly recommend and will return whenever possible.

Popped into this lovely pub after walking around Symonds Yat with our dogs. Had a fabulous roast beef lunch sat outside. Our lunch was delicious. Staff were very friendly and even though the pub was busy our food came out in good time. Would highly recommend

The hotel location is lovely, it's right next to the river with nice views especially if you get the weather, which thankfully we did! you'll love it. The staff are all lovely and extremely helpful and friendly, helped us check in and gave us information on what to do once we arrived. My only slight criticism here would be it would have been nice to know more about the parking situation prior to arrival, the pub cone off spaces outside the pub on the opposite side of the road, you should park there rather than in the pay and display carparks. The room was large by anyone standards and clean. The rope ferry is free for people staying at the hotel and they reserve a table for you in the restaurant for all guests (the foods really nice too). All in all a lovely place would recommend.
