I recently enjoyed a wonderful time in Ireland. My wife, daughter, aunt, uncle, and I traveled from Washington D.C., USA, to Shannon, Dingle, Limerick, Galway, Dublin, and many other wonderful places. Along the way, enjoyed ourselves to the utmost, but for one experience - the staff at the Savoy Hotel Limerick refuses to issue a refund they owe me. My wife booked a room at the hotel weeks before our arrival. Shortly thereafter, she cancelled the reservation because we changed our plans and decided to stay at the Inn at Dromoland for three days. The cancellation was confirmed by the hotel. Weeks later, my credit card was charged. I reported the mistake to the hotel. They acknowledged the cancellation, but still refused to issue the credit. Instead, they sent me rude, insulting e-mails for five days. They made promises to resolve the matter, but then surrendered and reported that they would no longer work with me. I am shocked and dismayed by their unethical business practices. Prospective guests be wary.
On the other hand, the staff at all other hotels were wonderful.
