More of a B&B experience than a 4 star hotel.
I would imagine it was special in its heyday.
Good location just a 15 min walk to the centre of town.
Mostly quiet, except the screeching seagulls (even at 2am!) And the radiators that emitted a high pitch squeal when switched off.
Reception assistant attended and couldn't fix so suggested we leave the radiators on and open the window 🙄
The entrance and staircase are quite grand, but the carpets are filthy throughout.
The staff only spoke when spoken to.
Our room (76) view was overlooked by local residents.
It was a family room so our daughter did have privacy.
All the doors could do with some wd40.
The bathroom requires ventilation, not just relying on the small window.
Bed needs a new mattress it sinks in the middle.
Breakfast pretty basic fare, you have to request eggs of the staff, its not promoted, more word-of-mouth.
A great big Carrot cake on the buffet with the usual suspects! A toaster that on the first lap leaves the bread untouched but comes out in flames on the second.
Get your croissant early as when they are gone they are gone.
The rest was just your average fayre.
We enjoyed a meal on Thursday at Roberto's Restaurant 20% off if you book before 5pm. You have to remind them to deduct it!
The food was excellent...HOWEVER... it was live Jazz night, which would have been fine if it wasn't set up as if they were playing Wembley Stadium, fully mic'd up, it was absolutely deafening, seriously tinnitus inducing.
It was so loud that when I ordered Mille Fuielle for dessert, they brought me the bill!!!
I highly recommend the lobster risotto starter though.
Jersey was great, the weather held up, we travelled everywhere by bus seeing the whole if the island in s week.
Zoo was great, as was the War Tunnels museum.
Lovely walks to Brelade Bay, St Aubins Bay, Bouley Bay, Gorey Pier and Castle, Corbiere Lighthouse too.
