The Schoolhouse Katong

We have been with The Schoolhouse Katong for years, having sent both our boys here starting from Nursery. We are very satisfied parents! What we appreciate most is the school's focus. They don't just chase academic achievements; they truly focus on the development of the child as a whole person. Our boys are learning the right values and are being shaped into confident kids. Our child just graduated from Schoolhouse Katong and is heading to Primary 1, and we couldn’t be more grateful. The teachers are warm, dedicated, and truly care about every child. Our child grew so much in confidence, independence, and learning — and genuinely looked forward to school every day. The SchoolHouse is the perfect place to send your child if you are looking for (1) caring and passionate educators (2) consistent rich experiences to ensure your child is future-ready. Recently my K2 daughter participated in an entrepreneur day where she and her classmates created artefacts and then showcased them and sold them to parents! I love it that my child comes home weekly with not just literacy and numeracy readiness but skills that make her future-ready. I also see the mark The School House has left on my 10 year old as she embodies all the school values and future ready skills, preparing her well primary school journey. Coming from an educator with 20 years of experience, I would say to you- Choose this school, you won’t regret it :)

My 2 kids have attended The Schoolhouse Katong since they were 19 months old and love it. They are always happy to attend school and are learning well. 1. Grounds are beautiful with large outdoor areas for daily outdoor activities. There are 2 large playgrounds, ample space for them to cycle, sand play and water play areas. 2. Teachers are dedicated. All the teachers know both children by name and show genuine care. Photo updates also show that a lot of effort is put into organizing a variety of activities for the children to learn and have fun. When my older child was 2.5 y/o, her teachers were initiated toilet training with our agreement and we successfully trained her in less than 1 week. I have never had to worry about my children when they are at school. 3. Classmates are from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, which is great for their learning and interaction. 4. Admin staff are very on the ball and helpful for administrative issues Would not hesitate to recommend this preschool to anyone!

This is our 9th year with the principal, teachers and even staff! 1 more year to go before my last child graduate under their guidance! Our years here speaks for itself the gratitude we have for the commitment shown to nurture our children. The Schoolhouse Katong is a hidden gem surrounded by a lush, green compound that instantly feels like a safe, happy haven. The school embraces nature at every turn, from outdoor play under shady trees to hands-on gardening activities. Learning here is joyfully woven into play, sparking curiosity and creativity in every child. With a good balance of fun, exploration, and academic learning, the school not only builds strong foundations for learning but also fosters kindness, independence, and a lifelong love for nature. Special mentions to our kids’ teachers who have been nothing but warm, loving, and nurturing, creating an environment where children feel valued and confident.

We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful experience our daughter has had at this school since Pre-Nursery. Over time, we've seen remarkable improvements in her English and Chinese language skills, and she has developed so many positive habits that we hadn't even taught her at home. From practicing good hygiene to learning how to change her diaper, take on and off her clothes, and put back items where she takes them, to even using her hands to block her mouth when coughing—these are life skills that go beyond the classroom and show the care and thoughtfulness of the teachers. Our daughter is genuinely excited to go to school every day, and it's heartwarming to see her so happy. The environment here is truly child-friendly, with a spacious, well-maintained outdoor playground that she absolutely loves. In fact, it's her favorite spot to play when we pick her up after school. She also talks about how delicious the food is, and we couldn’t agree more—it smells amazing every time we pass by the kitchen during drop-offs. The teachers go above and beyond by taking photos to update us on her activities, giving us a better understanding of her school life and allowing us to feel more connected to her development. We are truly thankful to the teachers and staff for creating such a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for our little girl. Highly recommend this school!

The School House at Katong has been awesome for us and both of our children’s preschool education. The learning experience was comprehensive, paced well and most importantly for us, has instilled a sense of confidence to both of them prior to formal schooling at Primary 1. The teachers and staffs are well trained and school has the space and the right facilities for experiential learning. We will always remember our time with The School House!
