The Scoop’s Udder Place in Ankeny is 10/10. Locally owned and everything is made in house, even the bubble waffle. The staff was super helpful as first timers, walked us through the menu and of course encouraged all the samples. I got a sundae in a bubble waffle with wedding mint ice cream, topped with brownies, whipped cream and heath candies. 10/10 in my sweet tooth coma and worth my first date away from my newborn.

This place is amazing. the staff are amazing and everything we tried was delicious I'm excited to see what new flavors they come out with and the bubble waffle cone is an absolute must!!!!

I messaged Scoops on September 21 about my Dad's & my favorite flavor: Licorice ice cream! I was so excited to hear they make it but they didn't have any right then. I was surprised to get a message a few days ago telling me the Southern Hills Mall location had it a few days ago!!! I was able to go yesterday (9-30) & purchase 2 pints. This ice cream brought back so many memories of eating licorice ice with my Dad! I immediately took the ice cream over to his house. He dug right into the container! You should have seen his smile! He said that it tasted just as he remembered it! Thank you for bringing those memories back to us!! It's so delicious!!

Staff was delightful and polite, the ice cream was fantastic. The bubble waffle adds a perfect warm addition to the sundae, very tasty too. Overall a great ice cream joint.

Absolutely amazing ice cream! I settled on 4 different flavors and was not disappointed. The flavors were spot on to what the were labeled. The ice cream was deliciously creamy. The bubble waffle are the BOMB! I highly recommend getting your ice cream served in a bubble waffle. We live an hour plus away, and it was worth the drive. If I’m craving ice cream, this is where I will go from now on. I will spend the gas money. The service was super friendly. They were excited to share all about their ice creams. They even allowed me to try all the flavors I wanted. Once again, I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been here three times now since they replaced marble slab first time two times it was amazing. Prices Reasonable ice cream taste absolutely delicious so we Return tonight I have to say I will never be going back. They have raised their prices and three bites into the ice cream. I threw it away. It started tasting like soap and chemicals and frankly started tasting like spoiled milk on top of that no cups for Shakes who runs out of cups and even worse the two people working today were very rude. They got mad about the tip I left and gave me a weird looks when I helped my boyfriend order since he forgot his glasses and couldn’t see the menu then they proceeded to start talking about us before we even Exit the door I no longer recommend this place to other people. I will never return and frankly, I would love to get my money back. $20 for two people and for it to taste like chemicals just not okay!

Scoop! There it is! You’ll scream over the creamiest ice cream around…and the chocolate-y cookies and the warm bubble waffles!! My selection was the made to order bubble waffle bowl with generous scoops of butter pecan and cherry ice cream. There were so many options, I had to sample a few more. If you are a fan of cream cheese butter mints, the Wedding Mint flavor is a must! The waffle taco will be the next on my list. Exceptional customer service, amoozing flavors, and cheerful ambiance will make for our new favorite treat spot 🩷❤️

First of all, prepare yourself for the amazing smells the moment you walk in the door. Then, look immediately to your left and admire the fresh baked assortment of pies and cobblers......tonight was rhubarb and peach, made fresh in house. Next, make your way to the counter and chat with the incredibly friendly staff, who will discuss the MANY options with you - I promise there is something for everyone (yes, dairy free too!) and you will not be disappointed. We had seven in our group, adults and kiddos - and all enjoyed the homemade ice cream (strawberry, bubble gum, cotton candy, salted caramel, birthday cake - of course, a ton of toppings - we had sour gummy worms & regular gummy worms) as well as the FRESH, made to order bubble bowl we decided was a mix between a churro, donut and pancake. It was something we had never seen or tasted before - and we want more The chocolate/sprinkle dipped, waffle cone was also a hit! There are also milkshakes! We enjoyed a peanut butter milkshake, highly recommend. Definitely go, we CLEARLY enjoyed everything we had and cannot wait to return! Cannot fail to mention, we met the owner and his son - they're both super nice and hard working, we are so grateful for this business!! Brownie points for a clean, inviting establishment AND outdoor seating. I believe he mentioned there are nine other locations?! A couple are also arcades with restored games?! They know what the heck they're doing!!

Met the owner as soon as we got in the door and he explained the differences between the types of ice cream. Got to sample some flavors and made an awesome choice! They make everything homemade. And, they use family recipes for the brownies, cookies, and apple pie. You can't go wrong here! Nice find!!!

Had the ice cream sandwich drizzled with hot fudge. Cookies are solid and chewey creating the perfect ice cream sandwich, very delicious!. Also tried the bubble waffle bowl and it was perfect with every bite of ice cream. Overall the ice cream is definitely not your average scoop. It's rich and creamy full of flavor. This place does not cut corners on service or ingredients, I will be back for another round!

The range of flavors was the overwhelming so plan on taking time to ensure your best choice. We had cookie dough, maple bacon (real bacon), lemon cookie (blew my mind) and cookie dough chocolate chip cookie sandwich. The cones were made freshly made while you wait. The owners and staff were helpful, friendly, and created a fun atmosphere. A great addition to Ankeny. Try them out.
