The Sculpture Park in Schaumburg is a hidden gem that's perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The park is beautifully maintained with tons of green space and walking paths that wind around the most incredible sculptures. Each piece is unique and thought-provoking, and it's clear that a lot of care went into selecting them. It's a great place to bring a picnic, read a book, or just wander around and enjoy the art. I highly recommend checking it out – you won't be disappointed!

A unique place for sure! Some very interesting sculptures – take the time to look at them more closely. Some have surprises! I think they allow dogs too!

Beautiful paved walking path with a woodland trail option. Birds were singing all around us as we walked.

We had a really great Mother's Day walk around this beautiful park! My main criticism is, having never been there before, there is no signage or Maps or any information anywhere about where the sculpture Trail starts or how long it is. And when you come to an intersection on the trail, there is no signage telling you which way you should turn to continue the trail. There is no information about how long the trail is, so people that can't do long walks might be hesitant to start the trail. It is only about six blocks long from the parking lot and back to the parking lot again. There's a pond with a fountain in the center that had ducks and Swans in it. Lots of benches and picnic tables. This could definitely be a five-star attraction if they could get their act together with information and signage to guide you.

Wonderful and inspiring. Also very clean! Loved bird watching and reading up on the art and history of the park/river. The construction in the area broke the serenity of the space but nice to see updates/improvements.

The park is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thank you for having a park where we can walk and see the sculptures.

Google
Schaumburg Athenaeum Sculpture Park is a nice tranquil walking path with International artists metal, wood and concrete renderings. What’s unique is once you start walking outer noises disappear and you don’t even feel like you’re in the middle of a city. There is also a nice little woodland trail nicely landscaped that also leads to the main sculpture path. This path is made for everyone both young and old. There is plenty of parking very close to the path as well.

Google
It is a very cool park full of sculptures. I recommend going to the park's website. You can find background on the pieces. Lots of squirrels. My only complaint is that navigating to the last 3 pieces is not easy since they are on the other side of the performing arts building and there is no loop or clearly posted route. The map on the website was hard to decipher because you can't really zoom in and there is no clear trail map.

Yelp
What a cool spot! I've driven by this area countless times while shopping nearby and never knew that the sculpture park existed until I was looking for a place on Yelp to get a quick walk in after a meal. Fortunately for me, this was more than a quick walk as there are about 16 sculptures located throughout the park all which are quite distinct from one another and good for fun photo taking opportunities. Sculptures here range from a wooden arch to steel structures to chiseled rock to a giant muse and even a colorful giant sundial. While not as large as the sculpture park in Skokie or University Park, there's not too many options in the area (unless you also count Morton Arboretum). Overall, worth a visit if you're in the area at all. It's fun and free, and maintained nicely.

Yelp
Recently came here to explore what this place has to offer and have quite an exciting walk seeing what sculptures and sights I might see. Most of the sculptures are on the eastern side of the trail, The Woodlandtrail was a bit of a little bonus away from the main trail. The bigger sculptures featured when you probably searched this place up are by the main building and they're quite beautiful up close. The Sculptures on the east side of the building are a bit neglected and a bit beaten up as well. It's a smaller park but it's worth checking out for a new outing experience.

Yelp
My husband and I went to the Chicago Athenaeum International Sculpture Park to get some steps in and look at something interesting at the same time. This park offers a nice trail to walk and an opportunity to see and take pictures of art. The sculptures were interesting, thought provoking, and started conversations with our friends. For outdoor fun for the whole family, I highly recommend this sculpture park in Schaumburg!

Yelp
We were headed to a nearby winery and decided to stop here beforehand. It was a good decision because we saw a lot of neat sculptures.

Yelp
This place is amazing.. it is also open 24 hours.. it's kid friendly , lots of places to eat nearby and close to a water park! The sculptures will ignite conversation and the property is clean and peaceful . It contains bridges, well kept grass, walking trails and a relaxing brook. Great for a family outing, date, or peaceful alone time . I would definitely recommend, especially if u love art like me. There are cameras as well to keep vandals away!

Yelp
We enjoyed walking around the garden and looking at the sculptures and the swans and ducks nearby. We liked that it was dog friendly. It was a good place to take a walk and the sculptures were interesting to see.

Yelp
We used to love walking this trail, but now that the city is cutting back--for more trails? To remove dead stuff?--it's sparse and no longer as cozy and quiet. You can still enjoy the artwork, but it makes you a little sad that you now see the traffic of Schaumburg rushing by... Plenty of parking, but wish the park had bathrooms outside, so you don't have to go into Prairie Arts building.

Yelp
What a cool little park in Schaumburg! I had been looking at some dog friendly activities and this one came up. I am so thrilled it was such a dog friendly location. Of course they want you to be a responsible dog owner and pick up after your dog and keep him/her on a leash. However, I was able to take her in the grass without a negative side-eye and let her run around a little bit (while still on the leash of course). The sculptures were very cool and I was able to take my dog through the little path. It was on the opposite side of the parking lot (away from the park with the pond). They have a big map in the little picnic area. If you go, make sure to pull up the interactive map. There is a link on their website. It tells you the background and meaning for all the different statues. It was interesting to know the history. They don't have it displayed on the physical statue. Overall, it was a very fun day. You can complete it rather quickly, but we lounged around the pond a little.

Yelp
Went with my other half to see this sculpture garden. Perhaps we should have done better planning, but it happened to be drizzling slightly when we went. Oh well. Beautifully landscaped and very calm and serene. Will likely head out here for a nice picnic when it's nice and sunny. We were not able to see all sculptures - not sure if they were not there or simply we couldn't find them. We saw the big lady sculpture - which we saw a similar one in FL when I was living there while doing my fellowship and we went to Eola Park. We also saw another sculpture but was not able to see some of the other sculptures mentioned by other people. Bummer. As mentioned, the garden was exquisite and beautifully landscaped. No dogs allowed (sorry dachshunds!) but we did see a number of dogs here. They also have a beautiful fountain and small lake, great for people watching. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
What a great little gem in the burbs. We went with the kids and they loved it. A lot of people taking pictures at certain sculptures but we were able to distance for the most part. But the pictures that you can take of the sculptures is pretty cool, and there are a ton of trails that are off the main sculpture trail as well to hike and bike on. We will definitely come back and maybe bring our bikes. I would highly recommend this visit during these trying times.

Yelp
Cool, little park. Not sure where I heard about this park but it was on my bookmark list for awhile. The other day we finally got a chance to stop in and see what it was all about. Prior to arriving I had an idea that the park would be much larger with a lot more walking. In fact, the sculpture portion of the park isn't a very long walk at all. The CAISP includes around 15 or so sculptures throughout. Sculpture styles vastly range in artistic approach and we thought most were well thought out and expertly crafted. Each sculpture is out in the open as well, allowing people to interact with them freely. If you want more walking and/or park time there are connecting path's here with a larger park and pond to visit. Cheers.

Yelp
Nice park tucked away in Schaumburg. Around twelve to fifteen or so large sculptures scattered throughout. It's an easy walk & not very large. There isn't much of a sign so it would be easy to miss as its behind a church on the Plum Grove Rd. side & mostly behind the village hall on the Schaumburg Rd. side. There are a few benches & a gazebo as well along with a pond & stream.

Yelp
It's pretty but not as magnificent as I wanted to be. Yes it's fall and all the geese were there too. The park is behind the municipality. The coolest part was the stone chic.

Ilya K.

Yelp
Beautiful area with meticulously landscaped pathways. There are about 16 sculptures laid out along the paths that are placed well. The area is extremely peaceful and a wonderful place to relax.

Yelp
I found this in a Chicago Tribune news Chicagoland day trip itinerary listing for a day in Schaumburg. The sculptures are neat and this would be a great place for a picnic by the pond. It is tidy and kept up nicely. Also, it's a stones throw from the Schaumburg Boomer's baseball stadium, another itinerary item from the Tribune's recommendations. The GPS to this location doesn't work great and twice tried to bring me to the center of a residential neighborhood. When I found the correct location, from where I entered to park it looked like you were entering a nature center and there was very little signage for the sculpture park. Like another reviewer said they need a map of the sculptures. We weren't able to find the sculptures that ended up being by the pond until we had already used up our 2 hour window of walking trails that had weird stops/starts and some that seemed to depart the park entirely. I'd recommend bug spray should you attend during mosquito season, as a lot of this park is heavily wooded.

Yelp
I have lived in Schaumburg going on seven years and sadly, today was the first time I went to this park. Its not a big park, however I loved the tranquility and visual art work during my walk with my hubby. The pond was definitely my favorite part. I could have sat on one of the benches all day listening to the fountain and watching the swans tend to their nest centered in the middle of the pond. Will definitely be heading back in the future.

Yelp
File this under: Super cool places right under my nose that I didn't know existed. Wow, that's a long title. Yes, friends, there's a sculpture park in Schaumburg. Is it a big sculpture park? No. But it's really neat to walk/run/ride bikes through and check out some unique art along the way. If you're unaware, Schaumburg has some pretty great bike trails, one of which weave through this sculpture park. It's certainly tucked away behind Plum Grove Road, so you can have your little moment of zen before checking out the Prairie Center or heading over to Heritage Farm. I wouldn't say you'd bring a picnic here, but it's a nice little haven where art and wildlife combine. If you find yourself in Schaumburg with a bit of time to spare, take a walk and enjoy this little treasure.

Yelp
Great place for a small walk :)! The trail that contains all the sculptures leads to the community center that has another park attached to it, which is a great place to sit and relax!

Yelp
Wonderful place to get away from everything and appreciate nature.

Yelp
Such a beautiful park next to a swan lake. Sculptures would line a small walking trail behind the pond. I wish it was longer but I believe it is less than a 20min walking trail. Great location for picnics as there are plenty of picnic tables. There is plenty of parking as well.

Yelp
I was looking for something to do with my girlfriend on a beautiful day. I found this and we decided to go. The first time we went, we only ever saw the pieces around the pond. We didn't know there was more. It wasn't until the second time that we found the stuff south of the parking lot. The place could use a map. That's my one big gripe

Jake M.

Yelp
The art will remind you of simpler times, there was a certain abstract fume that was very pleasing to the eye. The flowers burst with color, so beautiful that we even saw someone drive up and try to take some home with them.
