The restaurant is situation in a square with great views if you sit outside. The inside is modern and really nice. The Vongole with white wine sauce was the best thing we ordered, super creamy with garlic and herbs. We ordered extra bread to dip into it👌🏽 the grilled octopus was a bit chewy. the oysters were were fresh and on the larger side, came with a vinegar. The crab cakes were good but nothing amazing. For entrees we got salmon & the fish and chips. The salmon was well cooked and moist with crispy skin. The fish and chips were very well fried. It came with a tartar dipping sauce. Would recommend either. The service was pretty slow and confused at some points. We got our appetizers the first half hour, another hour went by and the entrees still hadn’t come. They most likely forgot and 10 minutes after asking it came out. Don’t expect the quickest service. Overall nice restaurant though.

What an incredible establishment. The interior was spacious and immaculate with a fresh aroma of seafood cuisine that awaits your palate. Stefan, Sofia, and Adrian were an absolute delight and took wonderful care of my family and me. I felt the pricing was very affordable as I was able to order the catch of the day Sea Bass at $22. We look forward to our return and thank you once again, Stefan and Sofia for your warm and tender care.

We sat outside as let's face it in the uk how often do we get the weather to sit outside 🤔. However, we missed a trick as the ambience inside was great. Seeing the incredible dishes being served and the intoxicating aroma was an integral part of the experience. Good food my only advice - be adventurous with your menu choices.

Perfect Evening at the Seafood Bar Our visit to the Seafood Bar was absolutely delightful. The oysters were outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The other seafood dishes also impressed us with their quality and freshness. A special thanks goes to Brian, who advised us with great attention and expertise. Sure, here's a revised version: --- I have been here before and love this place. I had the fried calamari appetizer. It wasn't the best, as it was all rings, which might mean they were frozen, but they were tasty. The diver sole was great and very fresh. I didn't know it was whole and I usually avoid bones, but it wasn't difficult to manage and was very tasty. The service was great.

Our hotel made our reservations at the closest Seafood Bar. There are several locations. Reservations really seem a must. We lucked out getting a table out front. We ordered the seafood grill tower so we had many hot and cold options. But after seeing other entrees everything looks amazing. Our waiter was attentive and professional. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. If I could, I would have come back more but there are so many great choices in Amsterdam to choose from. This should definitely be a MUST.

Been to Amsterdam several times in the last two years, so I already have my favorite places. Still need to try different spots though, so that's how we ended up at The Seafood Bar! I knew it was gonna be legit when the restaurant proudly displays the seafood it has on offer. Had several items here: Sea Bass Ceviche, some oysters, Kibbeling with Tartar Sauce, Fish and Chips (fried cod fillet), and Fruits De Mer. Food is really good and worth the price IMO. Really enjoyed the Fruits de Mer, as it was a plate of fresh seafood. And of course you can't go wrong with a properly done plate of fish and chips. The cod fillet was HUGE and the batter did not overwhelm. Service was great here, no complaints at all. Definitely glad I tried this, wouldn't mind coming back again.

I really love good seafood. I really hate bad service. What a coincidence. I found both at Seafood Bar. Except for dessert. That lemon meringue pie was horrible. It had obviously been punished and relegated to a refrigerator, lonely and ignored for a few days. Maybe more than a few days actually, as evidenced by the dry lemon film on top. To make sure it was truly horrible, it was served a good 12 minutes after our coffee, which we had finished by then. No offer of refill, mind you. Then we waited another 15 minutes for the check, which finally arrived when we started to put our coats on. We decided to ignore their thinly veiled demands for a gratuity. I don't tip for bad service, never did, never will.

Delcious and a must try when in Amsterdam! Make sure you make a reservation for dinner if you want to secure a spot. We walked in trying to get last minute seating although there wasn't room that night, we were able to make a booking for the next night. We decided to with the half cooked and half raw/on ice seafood platter, a whole grilled fish, grilled octopus app and a side of sweet potato fries. This was enough to feed our party of four. Definitely enjoyed the cooked portion more of the two sections of the platter. We are able to figure out most if the cooked section while the raw section left us unsure but willing to give it a taste. From the raw/on ice section the rock crab was a standout. It was sweet and meaty but tough to crack open. We particularly enjoyed the cooked portion as it came with stewed mussels two different grilled fish filets and shrimps. The whole grilled fish was definitely worth it, the meat was tender and the bones were large enough to comfortably pick out. It was served with a side for relish or sauce which complimented the fish so well. We found ourselves dunking other items into the sauce. Of course the sweet potato fries were a hit, crunchy, sweet and full of flavor. The octopus was also cooked perfectly, not overly chewy and fresh tasting. We truly enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and patient when ordering. Offering wine recommendations for our specific menu items as well as checking in on us and clearing the shell bucket multiple times.

Came here for happy hour apps and was pleasantly surprised. As an oyster fan, they had a great variety of local and european oysters which I have never tried before for avocados very reasonable happy hour price. The lobster soup was a decent portion and the crab cakes were delicious but small for sharing. Very cute ambiance and nice staff- good for a date night.

Good seafood. Except for the shrimp, which was overcooked, mussels clams, etc. on point. Prices reasonable. Nice clean place. Would rate higher but the service was abysmal. From the snooty hostess to the glacier slow waiter, just a shit show from the jump. After seating I waited 10 min before I had to ask the hostess if a server was EVER coming. Finally showed. Not too long a wait for food, but after I finished, they collected the plate, I had to wait forever again to get the check, finally having to walk over and ask the server. Dogshit service even by European standards

I was in Amsterdam for a day and actually found this place on yelp! It was packed, so my colleague and I opted for the bar. We had to wait a little while for service, but the bartenders were friendly. I got the mixed grilled seafood and a salad. Both were delicious. The fish was fresh and cooked and seasoned very well.

Great portions and service. Highly recommended. Modern ambience very clean and efficient operation. Staff shortage on the night we were there but server handled it well. We got free deserts.

Fish n Chips - fish was tasty- a whole filet fried to perfection- the fries were lukewarm and a bit soft- Mixed seafood combo was alright- some shrimp was not fresh and had that dull texture and the very small sized shrimp was not fresh - the rest of the plate was ok - oysters were good- presentation was delightful- crowded - be sure to get a rez- but when in Amsterdam- I would rather eat Indonesian Rice Table or street food - seafood is just not epic here -

The Seafood Bar was perfect. We had dinner reservations here as part of our first night in Amsterdam, and couldn't have picked a better spot to tip things off. Great ambience; brightly lit, illuminating glamorous white decor. The restaurant was spacious, with ample seating. Our server was hilarious and hospitable. Presentation of food was phenomenal. We'd ordered the following dishes: Bread with herb butter - Unique, flavorful, and delicious. Would love to buy the green herb butter for home. Combination Seafood Tower - Amazing value. The fried fish might have been the best I'd ever had when paired with the accompanied sauce. The grilled shrimp was delicious and entrenched with lasting flavor. Smoked salmon was wonderful. The crab legs and the lobster were melt-in-your-mouth. Crab cakes - A bit of a different texture than what I'm typically used to, almost mochi like, but I loved it. Cod filet /w mushrooms - Fantastic, exploding with flavor. Fingerling potatoes - Crisp, delicious. Check this place out if you're in town and have a craving for seafood, you won't be disappointed.

Shrimp in garlic butter 9/10 Grilled octopus 8/10 French style mussels 7/10 12 count variety oysters 6.5/10 Bread with herb butter 6/10. My wife hated the herb butter. We ended up dipping the bread in the garlic butter and that was much better. Service 5/10. Friendly, but super slow.

Amazing variety of seafood and a great value. I was amazed at how much food was included in our 2-person combo seafood tower! This was a very impressive and memorable meal. They have very limited cocktails, but a good wine list. It's sort of small and loud, but not uncomfortable. Service was not perfect, but totally acceptable. (A drink order was forgotten, and no one came over to empty our shell bucket until we were nearly done and it was overflowing). Overall, it was a fantastic meal, and I certainly would come back the next time I'm in Amsterdam.

Sea-food, eat food. I was definitely seafood out after eating at the seafood bar. All the seafood varieties we ate were all fresh! It was fantastic. The oysters were by far my favorite item. Tip: They save a portion of their restaurant for walk ins only, so if you missed grabbing a reservation, just head in over and try your luck!

Excellent quality and variety of seafood ruined by a bland / flavorless preparation. Disclaimer - I'm from Nee Orleans where seafood is prepared the French way with loads of flavor. If you are the type of pert who enjoys salt free crackers and soups, then you might enjoy this place. However I found it to be almost inedible due to the lack of flavor. The seasoning seemed to be there for color enhancing rather than flavor, so outside of the lobster and shrimp it was unbearably bland. The hostess was extremely rude, so it's clear that they are treating tourists like one time only customers. I'd strongly recommend against this place despite it being a favorite among the locals. After all, how many Netherlands style cooking places do you see in your home country? None? There's a good reason for that. Perhaps this is why the act of holding someone's head under the covers while farting is called a Dutch oven as most of the food in the region does taste like a$$

This is another place that I wanted to give a 5 & a 3. The service was fantastic, and the food was VERY good. However, they brought out the was incorrect, and one in our group never got his. Our server was kind enough to give us a free round, which did make-up for it a little. Do I recommend it? Well... maybe? Please see above.

This is the restaurant under Michelin recommendation! Restaurant is clean, fashioned, simple, and quieter than I thought! All of the seafoods are fresh! And get to taste the local seafood offering and local fish catch of the day! Very special experience! Different varieties of seafood than North America!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to shove your face into the ocean and come up with different types of fresh seafood? If you eat at the Seafood Bar, it's pretty close to that experience. The seafood here is fresh and plentiful. The variety is simply outstanding. We had the Frutti de Mar which is a large tower of fresh chilled seafood. Clams, mussels, langostinos, lobster, prawns, snails and more. The variety is impressive and the flavors are incredible. It's like you died and went to seafood heaven. The Frutti Misto is the fried equivalent. Equally as good. If you love seafood, there is no better place to eat. Service was friendly and prompt.

This place is fire! My friend and I were able to drop by and snag a table before the dinner rush and was glad we did. This place ended up getting packed and it was easy to see why. Platters after platters of delicious, sumptuous, fresh sea food were continuously paraded from the seafood bar to hungry patrons ready to devour every sea critter imaginable. I wouldn't be surprised if Arya Stark herself came out yelling,"Oysters, clams, and cocklessss!" Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of their seafood platters or towers which are incredibly filling, full of variety, and simply delicious. I particularly liked the crab (which had the good good fat inside; I would've loved some rice with this) and the razor clams. I even topped it off with a gin and tonic which was really refreshing. Definitely recommend if you're in the Amsterdam area looking for fresh seafood!

For Americans, The Seafood Bar is higher end than Red Lobster, but not as nice as Legal Seafoods or Salty's in the NW. The menu is great, but the quality doesn't deliver. We ordered a Combination cold and grilled seafood tower for two. Tons of seafood! But the quality? Meh... Not sure it was all local. The stone crab and other crab legs had been previously frozen, little clams were mostly not open, and lobster lacked flavor. We were hoping for a Salty's Seafood Tower experience, but not so much. They need to stick with what's local and in season. We also ordered a Caesar salad with avocado. But they were out of avocado. Rather than telling us, they made the executive decision to pour on avocado cream over an already over-dressed salad. We would have said no, but that didn't seem to be an option. The service was harried. I felt sorry for the waitstaff. There were too few doing too many jobs. What you don't want to witness is your waiter taking out the garbage. Too many times requests had to be made more than twice... They were nice, polite, respectful, and waaayyyyy toooo busy to attend to their tables. It was a fair experience, not a horrible meal, but we have no need to return.

Boy, were we disappointed! This place was on a list of places to go, and my spouse lives by those darn lists... The hostess was cheerful when she found a spot outside for us on a recent busy evening but that was the high point of the meal. The Caesar salad was blah--we had expected some anchovies (it IS a seafood restaurant...) but NONE. The best were the fried fish 'kibbeling'. Sweet potatoes were just okay. Shrimp croquettes were just okay. Our waitress was often MIA. We won't be back and cannot recommend.

So I was recommended this restaurant for dinner and after walking 1 km, tired and hungry, they told me the restaurant is closed! It was about 5 min after 10pm and the yelp stated 11pm. Not cool when tourist come to visit your city. I couldn't even get desert!!!!!!!! I could understand 15 min before closing but I'm by myself and it only 10pm people! I was Sooo pissed and ended up Ordering from wok to walk and enjoyed My meal!

Pretty solid and serving Alcohol free Chardonnay too for the NA crowd. Some cooked crustaceans overcooked and thus bit mushy. But everything seems impeccably fresh and service was perfect and friendly. A reservation is a must for dinner!

Lovely ambiance. Wonderfully friendly service and outstanding seafood. We were walking and looking for something cozy and found this location not far from our hotel in the museum quarter. Sad we didn't get to revisit during our time there, but will go back.

The rating I'm giving has a reason, for the prices and supposedly level of this restaurant clearly they don't deliver as expected. We ordered the lobster soup and shrimp croquettes as a starter. The croquettes were delicious, crispy on the outside, hot and smooth on the inside and the sauce it came with was good too. The lobster soup flavor-wise was very good, but the soup was lukewarm when brought to us. A 14E lobster soup. Lukewarm? We nicely asked the server if they could heat it up, they brought it back a little bit warmer than lukewarm, but not as a soup should be served. Pitty. The salmon with leeks was good, but the leek sauce: lukewarm. That plate was ok, nothing spectacular, although the salmon had crispy skin and was cooked properly. And the cod fish and chips was fantastic. The cod was thinly battered and perfectly fried, juicy and delicious. The crushed potatoes we ordered as a side dish had little flavor, I had to use tons of salt. The bread and garlic/herb butter was great. Service was not what I would expect. We didn't even get water offered, although all the tables around us had a bottle. All in all, for a check of more than 100 Euro for 2 I think it is not in line with what you would expect.

The food was mediocre at best. The appetizers were good but the grilled seafood was gross. Also they seat everyone at the front tables just to make it seem that the restaurant is packed. The back of the restaurant is full of empty tables. Avoid!

Had a wonderful lunch at The Seafood Bar. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us fairly quickly. We ordered wine, fresh bread with herb butter, and a cold seafood platter for two. It was huge, and we could not finish it. I felt the price was really good and the restaurant itself was lovely. It had a crisp, clean, bright interior. Service was excellent!

If you love seafood, you won't be disappointed. One of my best meals of the year - so extremely fresh for a reasonable price. The portions are huge, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is a great place to take family or dates. Do make reservations because it is usually completely full.

We ordered the kibbeling, crustaceans and shellfish in Pernod sauce, and an array of oysters. First off, the oysters were on point, though on the pricier side. The kibbeling were light, crispy, and paired well with the tartar sauce provided. The Pernod dish was also very flavorful and had a nice variety of shellfish that were cooked to perfection. Good spot if you're craving fresh seafood!

One of the best meals we had while we were in Amsterdam. The service was impeccable. Leandro was awesome. So was the bartender and the manager. I'm so sorry I forgot their names. A must try for fresh seafood while you are in Amsterdam.

This is our second Seafood Bar to dine while in Amsterdam. Thought we were going our first location, yet this was closer to our hotel and equally great restaurant. Starters were shrimp scampi and local, Dutch oysters. Followed by the catch of the day, whole dorado prepared first on the grill and finished in the oven. Delicate, light and perfectly prepared. I was the holdout for the chocolate mousse w/ chocolate ice cream. Can't beat that!

The Seafood Bar might have been my favorite meal in Amsterdam. I love seafood, and the quality here was excellent. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful, clean, and welcoming. The service was good, and the prices were reasonable for the quality (you get what you pay for, after all). The Seafood Bar - Spui location is convenient - in the canal ring and near plenty of attractions. We stopped in for a snack after our visit to the Heineken Tour. We ordered the Fruits de Mer, which was great to share. The seafood was a really nice variety, and several things I haven't tried before which was great. I especially enjoyed the prawns - they were so sweet and juicy! I have tried (and failed) to find them as good as The Seafood Bar since our visit. If you like seafood, The Seafood Bar needs to be on your list of places to eat while in Amsterdam. This was easily some of the best seafood I have ever had.

Lived up to the hype! We couldn't get in on our first try but the receptionist made a reservation for us for the next day. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant-very clean and modern. Staff was friendly and nice which is important when you visit the popular restaurant in a touristy city.

A must-go when visiting Amsterdam! My husband and I recently spent a few days in Amsterdam, and Seafood Bar consistently popped up as one of the most recommended spots online. The reservation process was extremely easy via their website, and we got a table for dinner two days out. The service here is extremely friendly and efficient. After showing proof of vaccination, we got our pick of table. One of the staff also offered to turn up the heat when the seats we chose were in a chilly corner of the restaurant. As for the food - I highly recommend getting the Combination Tower (serves two). Hot and cold seafood choices just mean 2x the variety, and we ate up every single last morsel, leaving no periwinkle untouched. It's the perfect amount of food (with bread) and leaves just the perfect amount of stomach room for a stroopwafel outside.

I got the worst food poisoning of my life here! Be careful! I don't normally leave mean reviews but I was so so so sick, the sickest I've ever been and I just don't want anyone to ever go through what I went through.

What this place has: Fresh portions of seafood cooked to order, plenty of options, invigorating vibe, multiple locations, ability to order appetizers and drinks while you wait. What this place lacks: proper technique for sashimi (pieces were cut haphazardly), consistent service (our main waiter seemed to be too busy/ignore us although the rest of staff was great), a short line (go there by 6 for dinner if you want a seat within an hour). I think that quality of food at Seafood Bar is a notch above Legal Seafood and Hank's (my other reviews). Glad we went and felt that the price for fresh seafood was reasonable.

We were looking for an amazing sea food experience once another restaurant recommended it to us that was near by it. We couldn't get in the first day because they said it was fully booked so we made reservations online since it was such a special place that we didn't want want to miss the experience since it was long time after the cv19 epidemic. I checked most the reviews to make sure We order the best food here. It is a total shock .... The food was served cold except the soup was warm, The taste is just OK not anything especial, the waitress & the staff kinda rude not pleasant to deal with or to feel welcome nor friendly . The price way expensive for a bar & cold food. The place is very clean & easy located to the center.

Seafood Bar serves up really fresh and tasty seafood and deserves to top your list of places to try in Amsterdam. I tried the king crab legs from the plancha and fish & chips. The king crabs legs were delicious. They even slice the shells for you so you don't have to spend a lot of time wrestling with the crab. The fish and chips were nicely seasoned and although it was classified as beer battered fish, the breading was extremely light and not greasy. They have a suggested wine pairing for each dish, which is a nice touch. Reservations are highly recommended. I dined at the Spui restaurant but there are other locations. Insider tip: Some locations are busier than others so inquiry about the wait times at each location. Definitely check this place out!
