Food was delicious, portions were amazing, prices on Google are out of date. The lobster roll was fantastic, a good hearty portion. Fried fish was light and fresh, onion rings and fries were nothing to write home about but the tartar sauce makes everything better. We ordered a selection of items from the menu including the broiler side, all of it was fairly good. Warning to all patrons, restaurant is CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM. Lastly, there is a shortage of belly clams all dishes involving them are $3 more currently.

Google
Excellent food and what a great way to start your cape cod vacation. Service is pretty quick. You just order and grab a table and they’ll call your number. A lot of seating area. A good amount of parking also. We got the clam chowder and it was delicious. It’s not the creamy typical clam chowder people are used to eating. It is more soup than a chowder. It was very good. The lobster roll is huge. I suggest asking for an extra roll and splitting the lobster onto two rolls. The scallops were ok but lacking a little bit of seasoning is the only thing. They are cash only business, and they have an ATM on site.

Google
Great atmosphere and location. Service was fast. I had a lobster grilled cheese, fries, and cheese burger with all the fixins. Fries pretty salty. Lobster grilled cheese weirdly shaped. Cheese wasn't melted all the way. 3/5 not the best item on the menu. The burger though. Whomever was on the grill was making magic. Seafood shanty really should be burger shanty because the burger was amazing. Perfectly grilled, prepared, good size for price.

Google
Such a great place for really great fast food! Clam strips and fish and chips were absolutely amazing as was the clam chowder! Great view of the bridge and after you eat you can park in the visitor area across the street and walk the canal! Will definitely be back! CASH only! ATM on site!

Google
A must visit! Get cash before you come! (But they have an ATM with a 3$ fee) This was our first stop after driving in from Boston Logan Airport and we were hungry-we had the lobster rolls with fries, fish sandwich and fries, fish and chips, fried clam strip roll and fries, and a stuffed quahog clam. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! It is a little pricey but hey it’s Cape Cod so you kind of have to expect that.

Google
As a Cape Cod Native who grew up eating seafood shanty since the 90s as a kid, the food was decent but I was underwhelmed. The fish was very fresh, but the batter lacked overall flavor. I always order extra tartar and extra lemon. I was shocked to hear they don’t offer fresh lemons, but lemon juice in a packet which is not even comparable. It tasted like lemonade on the fish, without the fresh tangy kick that a lemon gives. Outside of cape cod this would be acceptable, but I feel that here, in a seasonal town that’s know for its fresh seafood, the toppings should be the same. It absolutely should be served with fresh squeezable lemons. I looked to the tartar sauce for that zing, but for my taste, it was entirely too sweet. The customer behind us ordered a clam plate and sat down 10 mins after us. She took two bites and proceeded to throw the entire plate in the trash and leave. The pros were fast service, fresh food, and shaded picnic tables. The price was very reasonable, but I have to say I would gladly pay prices comparable to the mid to outer cape to get fresh lemons, more fish and fries, and onion rings included.

Google
The biggest and most delicious lobster rolls with an awesome view! Love coming here for the lobster roll and other delicious seafood treats. Fries are perfect as well. Plus, they are allergy helpful. Fast service, delicious food, unbeatable view and plenty of seating and parking.

Google
So good!!!!!!! The lobster rolls were HUGE! They offer amazing lobster portions for the price and the stuffed quahogs were amazing as well. Only complaint would be the location. The road traffic was extremely loud and they only have porta potty’s. This is an absolute most stop heading to the cape.

Yelp
Wow. I mean wow. We came because of a TikTok we saw about the portions of the lobster rolls, and this place lived up to the expectations. Not only were the portions huge, but the prices were reasonable, and the lobster was fresh. My friend and I didn't love the fries, but honestly, we didn't come for those--and who needs fries when you've got nearly a pound of lobster to eat? Absolutely delicious. The service was great--walked up and ordered and everything came out fast. Heads up, they're cash-only, but they do have an ATM if you need it. They have outdoor seating with picnic tables, and the whole place has a great vibe. It's the perfect summer spot. We sat on the patio and soaked up one of the last summer days with our favorite meal in our new favorite place. If I could give this place 6 stars I would.

Yelp
Lobster Rolls!!! I've had a lot of lobster rolls in the last 30 years abut this was the best one in memory. The lobster meat, and it was ALL lobster meat, was piled at least an inch higher than the roll. You needed a fork to make your way through it. There was a bit of mayo to bind, and a piece of lettuce and a proper lobster roll, a ROLL, not a hot dog bun. It was buttered and toasted on the outside. It was served with a hugh amount of french fries, and all for $30. It's open for the season Friday April 4th. It's off the Bourne Bridge and a perfect stop as you're leaving the Cape for one last, perfect taste of the sea. There is no indoor seating, and they don't take credit cards though an ATM is available. Tip: Relax at a nice picnic table and enjoy your lobster roll and a chowder and forget your problems for at least short period of time. Thanks

Yelp
Lobster roll was yummy. With FF What ?!? NO CHOWDER!! My dad said his stuffed quahogs were "metza metz". Scallop roll was not as good as in the past.
google avatar

Yelp
Saw this place on Instagram and had to come here to checkout the lobster rolls! They're MASSIVE! One lobster roll is enough for two people if you get a side too. We asked for an extra roll so we could split the lobster roll into two servings. The belly clams were fine. Tartar sauce was good. Clam chowder was very thin and not creamy which was an interesting take. The tables by street is very loud but we found a picnic table in the shade by the parking lot that was quieter.

Yelp
World-class seafood, with sky high prices to match. Don't forget to bring cash! It's hard to call The Seafood Shanty a great value, but it's equally hard to knock the quality. Fish & chips, a lobster roll and a small batch of clam bellies ran $88. Eye watering prices, but our order could have easily fed 4 people, and all three items were among the best seafood I've ever had. Order less food than you think you need, and bring cash, as they don't accept cards!

Yelp
We ordered: 2 lobster rolls, a cheese burger, hot dog, side of clam belly, side of fried fish and strawberry milk shake. The total was $140. The most rude service was from the girl who I picked up my food from. I asked for ketchup and the Asian girl rudely says I have some on my tray. I asked her again and she just ignored me and left. Asked for the THIRD time and she gives 2 packets. You would think for $140, they could spare some ketchup. The actual food is mid at best. The lobster roll itself is big, but doesn't taste fresh and is super bland. The burger is a weak burger. How do you mess up a burger. The fried fish was so greasy and and soggy. And the hotdog was sad and weak. Strawberry milkshake tastes too artificial. The only thing enjoyable during this meal was the little scrawny fried clam bellies. In one of the lobster rolls, we found a hair. Took it out and didn't want to make a big deal. THEN, we found ANOTHER hair on the other half of it. Such a shame for a cute little spot on the water.

Yelp
Best fried seafood and lobster roll available! Highly recommend. Make sure you bring a lot of cash. They don't take credit card.
google avatar

Mal W.

Yelp
Highly recommend the lobster roll from seafood shanty. Pro tip: the portions of lobster are huge on this roll. Buy an extra roll and split the lobster salad with someone you love. Don't let the location of this place fool you, the outdoor seating was the perfect calm place to enjoy our bites. Service was quick and done with a smile. Stop here on your way to Nantucket like we did and you will be so glad you did!

Wekon U.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service was top notch. The people were fun and interactive. Best Fried clams fried in fresh oil, unlike other places I've eaten. Everyone was attentive and fast.

Yelp
What a great place to stop! We we were driving from Boston to Cape Cod for the first time and knew a lobster was a must try. The portion was very generous--we ordered a second roll to split this into two rolls. It was the perfect lunch sized portion to share. The lobster salad mix was great. I loved the views from the outdoor seating. If we are ever back in the area we would be excited to come back.

Kristelle L.

Yelp
Really good that we went back the next day! If you get the lobster roll, all for an extra roll because there are a lot of lobster for one roll. It's also cash only. Service is pretty fast and the workers are nice. The space is outdoors with a nice view
google avatar

Yelp
Popped in here on the way to the cape and it did not disappoint. It's a very casual spot with outdoor picnic table seating and a walk up counter. The service was good and we got our order quickly. We ordered the lobster roll and fried clam roll and both were delicious. It is a little pricey, but would highly recommend if you are looking for a place to get quality seafood. They do have non-seafood options as well if you are not a seafood eater. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great spot to have some delicious food.

Jess M.

Yelp
The lobster roll was large enough to feed two people! We got a roll on the side and filled it up. Delicious, going to be an annual visit here when we come to the cape in the summer.

Yelp
I will admit right off the bat I am a tourist. Lobster rolls aren't a thing in Baltimore. My wife is from this area, so we are here often. I have become quite a fan of lobster rolls. Oxford's was our go-to for a lot of years, until today. This is absolutely the best lobster roll I have ever had. It's definitely the fullest, that is for sure. At $30.00 (with fries) (good fries too) I don't know how much of a value it is, but considering the amount you get, I am not complaining at all. It is an absolutely delicious fully packed lobster roll. My wife had the fish and chips and was thrilled that it wasn't frozen fish sticks. This was legit breaded fresh fish. This place is pretty fantastic.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
The lobster roll saved the experience, it truly is delicious and substantial! The filet on the fish sandwich was baby sized, nothing like the big meaty pieces found in previous reviews. It tasted very good, but way too skimpy. Hopefully the lobster roll doesn't suffer the same fate of portion-size shrinkage. It is enough meat for two, I'd recommend ordering a second bun. The fries were "meh". Barely warm and unseasoned. Service friendly, beautiful grounds and views of the canal.

Jim C.

Yelp
This place hasn't changed and is still great. Lobster roll has tons of lobster meat (claws and knuckles) with the right amount of mayo on. A toasted NE hot dog roll with a light bed of lettuce. It is 31.99 which is not inexpensive but, compared with many places, is worth it. I've paid a lot more for a lot less! Chowder is very tasty, would just like a little more clams and potatoes. Cash only but there is an ATM on the side of the building.

TJ S.

Yelp
We were there in June and really enjoyed their fried clams, bellies of course. We would definitely go back again. Usually only get the fried clams once a year and we recommend this place.

Yelp
Ok, let's get the bad out of the way. The seafood shanty is kind of expensive (most dinners are $30), and very touristy. Take a deep breath, count to seven, and get that out of your system. If you can get past that, dinner is going to be good. The lobster roll was generously portioned, and the lobster itself delicious. I loved it. The fried clam belly platter was amazing. Nice and plump, juicy, and flavourful. I loved the quahog, though honestly felt it was a little dense and that the price tag for a single stuffed clam was pushing my tolerance for tourist trap pricing. The weakest link was the chowder. It was okay, and they warned me that it was thin ..... but it was very thin, watery, and I felt bland. Still, beautiful scenery, great food. I'm all for it. Protip -- they're cash only and it is expensive. I dropped $85 for two people. That's more cash than I've had in months. There's an ATM on the side.

Yelp
Nice open air eatery just over the Sagamore Bridge when leaving Cape Cod. Great place to stop for a quick bite to finish off vacation before heading back home. Quick service ordering at window counter, be aware they only accept "Cash Only" but they do have a onsite ATM in a pinch. Nice view of the Cape Cod Canal and Sagamore Bridge from the many outside picnic tables they have outside.Food was good and nice size portions. We had two order of the Fish & Chips which came with plenty of fries, small cup of Cole slaw and tartar sauce. Two nice size fried cod fillets cooked just right came in the dish and chips. Did get order of their onion rings which was a nice large stack enough for two or three people. Would recommend this place for a quick meal lunch or dinner. Good variety of stuff on the menu to satisfy the whole family and kids.

Yelp
The lobster salad roll is tasty. Definitely better on the top. A little too much mayonnaise and soggy roll and piece of lettuce.
google avatar

Morgan B.

Yelp
Ok this food was DELICIOUS the lobster roll was huge the fish and the clam strips are good to I suggest bringing an appetite because there desert is big and good to 5 stars -Leighton Brown

Cristina S.

Yelp
Amazing food. Lobster salad roll was worth every penny and the clam strip were amazing as well. Definitely ask for extra tartar sauce
google avatar

Briana L.

Yelp
The lobster roll was BIG and well worth the price. It was only $26 with a ton of meat and not loaded with lettuce as filler. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a lot of claw meat. The claw meat was tough and took away from the lobster roll, but once I ate the claw pieces first I got to enjoy the rest of my roll. The fried clams were really good too. There wasn't any ocean-y flavors in the belly and the tartare sauce worked perfectly with it. They have plenty of seating around the shop, but there's also a nice seating area across the street where you can look at the bridge and enjoy your meal
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Nothing like a good roadside clam shack. I wanted the simple clam strip plate. And for $13 this did the job. I won't call it the best I've ever had. But I'll call it very good. And I'll say this plate was worth the price both in size and taste. It's no frills. It's good. And the view is wonderful.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
As always, makes coming off the cape a whole lot easier. Thank you for some delicious food. Much appreciated.
google avatar

Joie T.

Yelp
Lobster rolls and whole belly clams are delicious here! Great spot after biking the canal. Cash only.

Edward V.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite place for seafood. I have been going there for over 30 years. Tonight was my last trip there. It is now just an overpriced tourist trap. My wife's scallops were overcooked as was my fish and chips. The fish was so overcooked it was falling apart in small pieces while trying to eat. The amount of fish I got in my plate was small, I have had more on fish sandwiches. The fries were barely warm when I got to our table (about 30 feet from the building). I believe the fries are also frozen, with little to no salt on them. Service was not very good. I asked the lady taking orders if I could substitutes oinion rings for fries on one plate. She kind of rudely told me"no, we do not do substitutes!". We have always done this at all seafood places we eat at, and paid extra. They no longer do combo plates like most places in New England. I guess that is so you have to buy two plates for $60 instead of a usual $40 or so for a combo. The tables are all sticky and dirty. Probably due to the whole time we there I never saw anybody come out and wipe one table down.

Shaun O.

Yelp
Absent of any claw meat their Lobster Roll was legit. I don't think the lettuce is necessary as it makes the roll unmanageable. Their whole belly clams had no flavor at all for a restaurant near fresh seafood.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
After years of comprehensive research, I have determined that the Seafood Shanty has THE BEST cold lobster roll in Bourne. It's stuffed to the brim with large chunks of lobster, it's lightly kissed with Mayo but not drowning in it, the bun is lightly toasted in butter on a griddle, and the coleslaw side is to die for!! Some notes: they only take cash (ATM is available), There's only outdoor seating at picnic tables, and they have port-a-potties as the bathroom option.
google avatar

Renee A.

Yelp
WOW! This place was amazing!! I'm so glad we stopped here! The lobster roll was the biggest I've seen in a while! We also got a clam strip roll that was HUGE! We loved the coleslaw too! This was a nice gem of a place! Can't wait to go back!!

Cindy D.

Yelp
Had the fish and chips not impressed 2 thin tail ends of fish first time and last. Unfortunate
google avatar

Ryan L.

Yelp
Best. Scallops. EVER!!! I was staying next door on a fishing trip and ate here every night after my first meal. Staff couldn't be more friendly and even with it being packed service was impeccable and the food was coming out quickly. Lobster grilled cheese was also awesome. Not pictured in my review is the clam chowder and and the stuffed quahog which were also phenomenal. I'm not exaggerating when I say I would literally drive back to Massachusetts from NJ just to eat here again.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Their lobster rolls are amazing! We did our research for the best lobster roll in the area. The Seafood Shanty had the best reviews and we are going to add another great review. As you can see from the picture they do not skimp on the lobster and just the right amount of mayonnaise. Thank you Seafood Shanty for making our first experience The Best!

Robert T.

Yelp
Long line but didn't have to wait long to order and then receive it. The shrimp was good and the lobster rolls had plenty of meat in them for the price. I have had better though. The clam chowder was thin and they mentioned it at the window. I wanted to try it even though I like my chowder thicker. Overall it was average for me but the wife rated it slightly higher.
google avatar

Debbie C.

Yelp
The best lobster rolls in this area! They are expensive, but sooo meaty and delicious! And we've visited the Shanty many times and they are very consistent with quality service & food!
google avatar

Sara Z.

Yelp
Excellent lobster roll and stuffed quahogs. The lobster roll may look small but it was packed with fish. I didn't get a picture of the other stuff we ordered but it was tasty. This place is a little on the pricey side but it is quality seafood in a tourist hub so to be expected

Patricia K.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Lobster roll on Cape Cod. I have lived here for 27 years and just stopped in for the first time. Everyone must go!!

Duane H.

Yelp
The shrimp dinner was great. The prices are lower and food is better than other places near by. The view of the canal was wonderful. Not a fancy place but very comfortable. The bar has a good selection of beers from the area.
google avatar

Lynn A.

Yelp
Fabulous lobster rolls @ $30 each with nice crunchy fries. Cash only. Picnic tables. We choose to cross the street and eat looking at the water. So lovely! We will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Samuel B.

Yelp
Great food. I had a seafood combo with everything and it was fresh, tasty and the portion was a perfect size. Service was fast, and the place is informal and cute. I will be back.
google avatar

Barron N.

Yelp
Must visit. The lobster roll is off the charts generous portion and great flavor. Outside sitting area is very nice on a sunny day. Quick service also! Visiting is a must
google avatar

Claudia C.

Yelp
Service - 2 cash only and no one tending ice cream line, also the woman who served the ice cream made the ice cream cone with the same gloves that she handled everyone's money with... I don't get how that helps. Split up the responsibilities or something. Food - 5 phenomenal lobster roll for the cost!!! So big! Cost - fair for the size of the roll. Would recommend for the cute outdoor seating and delicious, not overly mayo'd lobster roll. But it wasn't a well rounded restaurant.
google avatar

Fred M.

Yelp
Excellent whole belly clams, onion rings and french fries, really decadent! They were all really fried to perfection.
google avatar

Sue C.

Yelp
Great food, quick service! Walk up windows to order. Delicious lobster roll. Picnic tables & chairs all around. Adirondack chairs up on the hill behind the parking lot.
google avatar

Connie H.

Yelp
One of the most Cape Cod things you can do is eating at clam shacks like this one! You can count on good seafood (eg. shrimp, clams, and ya labstah roll) to even something I learned about recently: the stuffed quahog (ie. a stuffed clam). This place is ca$h only and they have an ATM onsite but it may or may not be working. A port-a-potty restroom is available outside.
google avatar

Kat H.

Yelp
Expensive but BIG lobster roll, one of the few places we stopped and didn't feel like the lobster roll was a rip off! Things are just expensive right now because of the state of things, can't much be helped I think. Fries were just okay, but we didn't come for those anyway! Fried clams were delish and would be willing to bet their tartar sauce is homemade like their equally delicious Cole slaw!! Very nice people, nice outdoor seating across from the canal, just an altogether pleasant experience!
google avatar

E C.

Yelp
The lobster roll is great, along with its fries. Stuffed quahog not so much. Tastes heavily breaded. The place is cash only. Sitting outside to the sound of loud cars passing didn't feel very peaceful.

Laura L.

Yelp
A must stop when heading off Cape. Classic Cape Cod - don't miss the Seafood Shanty!!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
I had the fried scallop plate. It was very nice. Lightly battered and Cooked right. My son had the lobster roll. Plenty of meat and very tasty
