The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

I enjoyed my quick, one night stay at The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach so much that I returned for another, two night stay, less than two weeks later. The hotel is situated in a beautiful bayside location with sweeping water and island views. The rooms are modern and well appointed and the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. There is a small, but intimate, rooftop pool which is accessible to those with mobility issues. Live entertainment, bar, and catering services, are available for hotel guests, and members of the public, to enjoy, at the hotels rooftop terrace, on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, weather permitting. The hotel restaurant, Sunny's, is open from 6:30am until 8:00pm serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. I observed diners' enjoying their meals while taking in the superb bay views and breezes. This hotel has a distinctly boutique feel to it. I Highly recommend the Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach Hotel to anyone who is looking for a unique getaway or visiting family or friends in Redcliffe. There are also convention facilities available for business travellers, or companies seeking a slightly different experience for their employees and executives. Margate beach is less than forty minutes drive from Brisbane via the Gateway Arterial Motorway. Well done Sebel Margate! 👍 In the words of one famous actor "I will be back".

My experience at this hotel was disappointing. Firstly, the housekeeper entered my room at 9:00 am without knocking. As the check-out time is 10:00 am, this was unacceptable and affected my privacy. Secondly, there was only one mirror located in the bathroom, and the lighting was very dim. It was difficult to see properly while doing my makeup. Having an additional mirror in the bedroom would be much more convenient. Thirdly, considering the room rate of nearly $300 per night, I felt the value was lacking. There were no complimentary water bottles, minibar, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, or bathrobe provided. Lastly, the hotel is quite a long walk from Redcliffe Market, which may be inconvenient for some guests. • Response : For a hotel at this price point, basic amenities such as bottled water, toothbrush, and toothpaste should be provided. The facilities and service do not reflect a four-star hotel standard; even some cheaper motels offer better amenities. Staff requested my personal details but offered no meaningful assistance or follow-up.

The hotel staff are lovely and the room nice but bathroom drain smelt like sewerage and manager said it was a permanent plumbing issue. Came to the room with chemicals to pour in the drain but it needed to be done daily and should be part of the service. The restaurant "Sunnys" is a seperate business. Bad service, and they repeatedly made mistakes with our orders, breakfast vouchers were more expensive than ordering off the menue and staff did not care our poached eggs arrived cold as we had used vouchers staff " couldnt give us another breakfast" , tables were all dirty and many left uncleared during our entire meal. The manager was very nice but we ended up getting refund on prepaid breakfast for the next 4 days from reception. I won't come back.

The room was nice but there was a few cleaning problems eg we found false eye lashes in our sheets so we have to guess the sheets were either compromised or not changed ? Also the taps in the bathroom were not clean.. The balcony was good however we didn’t use it because it looked straight into someone’s unkept yard… we didn’t feel keen to use the balcony and we drew our drapes the full time. I emailed the hotel and told them this was a birthday gift for my partner . We are from the country sooo I was hoping for a better experience. The roof top terrace with the swimming pool was lovely and the sea view was fantastic. The staff was approachable and the breakfast was ok . There wasn’t enough car spaces and we ended up parking on the street. We wouldn’t stay here again due to the lack of view, car space and overall atmosphere including especially the cleaning issues.

Lovely boutique beachfront hotel… Good size rooms and if you get one with a view they are lovely. Sunny’s restaurant is a nice spot downstairs. Rooftop pool and bar is a great spot when open. We wanted to see BeeGees Way and this spot is close to the commemorative street/show

The view is lovely. We can see the beach and enjoy the sights and sounds. Reception is friendly. However room service was atrocious. I stayed for 9 nights. Every single day we had to remind housekeeping to clean the room properly. Carpet was dirty. Toilet disgusting. They didn’t even wash it before our arrival. We had to ask them to scrub the bowls almost every time. Day 1 there was thick brown water and stains in the bowl. Gross to the max. Cups not washed. Need reminder daily. Toilet sink is smaller than your dentist sink mind you. It’s really terrible. I didn’t complain as I had 9 nights there and didn’t want to piss anyone off. I won’t be staying there again only next visit to Brisbane. Sorry, but all facts.

Good location right on the beach. Enjoyed the food and service at the onsite restaurant Sunnys. Note not all rooms have a seaview and the roof top pool is small.

Amazing location, superb room with a sea view. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room serviced daily.|The roof top bar and pool were lovely and had a great view of the ocean. Plenty of restaurants within 20 minutes walk, which was along the sea front which was really beautiful.|Great value for money given we were travelling from the UK.
