Review: The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach, Brisbane - SilverKris

"Perched on the Moreton Bay peninsula, this oceanfront hotel offers guestrooms with private balconies for stunning views at any hour and the chance to spot breaching whales in winter and early spring (July–October). Rooms — including the Junior Suite — blend classic and contemporary touches, from plush Italian leather lounge seating by Wendelbo Interiors and nostalgic black-and-white 1920s images sourced from local heritage records to industrial-style steel-grey-and-gold furnishings. Guests can borrow bicycles for complimentary exploration along the full length of the peninsula (from Woody Point to Scarborough), relax on one of the area’s few rooftop terraces that feature a fully stocked bar, landscaped gardens, an outdoor pool and private nooks ideal for sunset cocktails. The on-site nautical-themed restaurant occupies a timber wraparound deck with unobstructed Moreton Bay views and serves Modern Australian dishes spotlighting local produce; standout items include a pork belly sharing plate, a grilled wagyu cheeseburger and salt-and-pepper calamari." - Bree Caggiati

3 new beach hotels perfect for your next holiday - SilverKris

"Set on a sweeping peninsula with water views from every room’s private balcony, this hotel gives guests the unusual opportunity to spot breaching whales in winter and early spring. Interiors balance modern comforts—like plush Italian leather lounge seating—with nostalgic 1920s black-and-white imagery. A complimentary bicycle-lending programme makes it easy to explore the full length of the peninsula and nearby spots such as Woody Point and Scarborough, and the on-site restaurant focuses on fresh Australian fare, with standout dishes including a pork belly sharing plate, wagyu burger and salt-and-pepper calamari." - SilverKris

Room is spacious and comfortable, house keeping kept the room neat and tidy when requested upon. Carpark always have sufficient space fortunately. Did not get to enjoy the facilities as was there for lessons but rooftop look great to chill! Just a cross the road and you're along Margate beach.

Outstanding hotel. Excellent location right on the boardwalk. Every room I have ever stayed in has a view of the water from the deck. Has towels for pool & beach, quality herbal tea sachets in every room, nicely designed rooms and a relaxed vibe. Good for families and business (personal experience of both).

Wonderful location and vibe. Lovely boutique hotel with super friendly and helpful reception staff. Stylish room and well appointed bathroom overlooking the ocean with balcony. Very clean. Surprised there was no mini bar. The light from the microwave, TV, telephone/alarm clock and sensors on the ceiling illuminated the room at night. Take eye shades if you’re a light sleeper like me. Otherwise all very pleasant and would stay again

Nice hotel in a great location for the beach and walking into centre of Redcliffe. Room was clean and well equipped, check in and check out efficient and had a nice cafe/bar, Sunnys, attached. |Rooftop terrace had nice views particularly at sunset and the live music was nice. Only real feedback is staff in rooftop bar weren’t the most efficient or customer friendly.|A bonus is the Redcliffe parkrun starts/ends a stone throw from the hotel.|We’d definitely stay here again.

From booking to booking in right through to booking out, we were impressed. Room was great loved the large shower. Bed was comfy and the view from our room was fantastic. We will be back.

We stayed in a suite room overlooking the water. The room was very nice, clean and spacious with a small kitchenette and large bathroom. Wardrobe is tiny. On check in I found the staff to be friendly and fast. There is a lovely boardwalk and path along the waterfront and you could walk for a very long way.|Other than that, there is not much else at Margate Beach. A take away/restaurant fish shop, which was very nice and a chicken shop.|We had drinks and ate at the restaurant downstairs and found out that it is not connected with the hotel. Other than one nice young girl working casual, the staff don't really want to be there and were not hepful to anyone who had an Accor drink voucher. The food was fine though.

The Sebel Margate Beach exceeded my expectations. The rooms were wonderful, very clean, modern and had everything you would need for a few nights. The location of the property is fantastic, the view from your room (if ocean front) is gorgeous, great board walking tracks from right out the front of the hotel - the rooftop bar and the downstairs restaurant were wonderful, breakfast was delicious! And lastly the staff - everyone was so friendly and helpful, it was everything a hotel should be. We will definitely be back.

Pleasantly surprised with this little gem. Great location by the seaside making a beautiful place to walk and the view from roof top was gorgeous ( we had lovely weather on the first day) Our room was on the southern side on the building with a spacious balcony with sea view still possible Room is spacious and clean and quiet Ordered from roof top bar a delicious Angus burger and yummy cheesy flatbread Staff were efficient and welcoming The one lift does work hard so just ensure you are not in a rush to get anywhere I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would recommend
