The Secret Garden Cotopaxi

One of my favorite properties I’ve ever stayed it! The staff and volunteers are all so kind. All the meals and snacks were delicious. The facilities were all clean and showers were hot. The views every morning were amazing. Don’t miss the horseback riding through Cotopaxi national park! It is amazing. It is the perfect place to disconnect and meet some awesome travelers.

Hands down the BEST hostel experience I’ve had and probably will ever have. I stayed in the shared dorms which were always clean as well as the facilities. The staff and volunteers are lovely and a huge part of facilitating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I stayed for 4 days/3 nights and thought it was the perfect amount of time to spend there. It’s a great place for solo travelers and families- a very social hostel as there is no service which also helps with connecting with others! Another aspect that I loved was all the different animals on site. They have a handful of dogs and llamas who are very friendly and curious which was a fun experience. The food was also always amazing! Secret garden Cotopaxi has a part of my heart- I would return and recommend in a heartbeat!

I absolutely loved this place. Incredible location. You have a perfect view of Cotopaxi (weather permitting) The food is unbelievable. It's all included in the price. You will not go hungry and it's all very good healthy food. I could of stayed here a lot longer. The only thing they could do to improve is to create an area for drying clothes properly!

Just spent 2 nights in the Hill House. Amazing!! Spectacular views - despite overcast conditions. The food is delicious and cold beers are always a welcome sight. I've been hearing about this place for about 14 years and am thrilled that I finally got here. Craig and his team do an excellent job in making everyone feel welcome, and keeping the troops well fed.

Absolutely phenomenal. 10 stars, 10 thumbs up. I heard great things about it before I arrived, and the beauty of the buildings and grounds instantly exceeded my already high expectations the moment I arrived. I originally booked a 4 day stay and loved it so much I ended up staying 16 days. The service and attention to guests by the staff and volunteers is amazing. The whole place has a great family feeling. 3 excellent meals a day, and abundant vigorous outdoor activities are available. Or just lay on a hammock and soak up the peaceful setting and stare at beautiful Cotopaxi. For those who want to climb big mountains, excellent guides and ALL necessary equipment are provided for a very reasonable fee. An amazing place. HIGHLY recommended

We had an amazing time at The Secret Garden Cotopaxi and would definitely return. The grounds are STUNNING, the area is relaxing, and Craig and the staff are SO accommodating - more than most resorts we’ve stayed in. Loved the family style meals from the gardens (didn’t have a bad meal) and the unlimited bananas/banana bread. No shortage of activities to keep you moving and exploring everything the sierra region of Ecuador has to offer (and beyond). I am in my 30s so was hesitant to stay in a hostel at my age but was more than comfortable here. Amazing people from all places and backgrounds and we made some lifelong friends over dinner. This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, hands down. Thank you to the SG staff for such a great stay!!

Wonderful staff, including Milou, and Chris, Lea, and Karla, who made sure I was safe during a hike. The kitchen staff created wonderful food, served by a wait staff who were kind and attentive. The dogs were lovely. The location beautiful. The fireplace was heaven. Thank you.

Beautiful location, remote and quiet. The volunteers were fantastic. Lots of adventures to choose from. Food was delicious, although I wish the vegan options had more protein. A large number of people got sick on my last day, which seems to be a recurring issue based on reading reviews from the last couple months.
