Secret Garden Cotopaxi is a beautiful hostel located near Cotopaxi National Park. The grounds are stunning, and the scenery is great no matter the weather. The hostel offers a variety of activities around the park, which makes it easy to explore the area. It’s great that the meals are included in your stay, and there is an option to purchase soda/beer/wine if you want anything to drink beyond water/coffee/tea. |One thing I didn’t love was the confusion around the shuttle service. My confirmation email said the shuttle to the hostel was free, but the driver tried to charge me because I was only staying one night. I ended up extending my stay to two nights, but it would be great if they made the shuttle policy clearer upfront.|I stayed in one of the birdhouses, and while the view of Cotopaxi was incredible, I wouldn’t book that option again. The birdhouses are pricey considering they’re a bit of a trek from the shared bathrooms, and the interior isn’t tall enough to stand up in. |If you visit, I recommend asking about a private tour to Laguna de Limpiopungo. It’s about a two-mile walk, and a great option if you want to stay active without doing a full volcano hike. It's not a tour that the hostel regularly runs, but they are willing to put together if you can fill the minimum numbers.
