The Shack

We was walking past around 5.35pm and was greeted friendly to book a reservation while looking at the menu. So glad we went earlier, it soon got busy when the doors opened at 6pm, I’d recommend to get down early. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. My wife and youngest son ordered ribs, which had plenty meat on the bones. I tired a rib with the sauce it was mega! “Mega” ribs. Me and eldest son shared the “mega” posh seafood selection with me , the lobster was cooked to perfection and probably the best lobster I’ve eaten with garlic butter. The green side sauce brought out was something else, I have no idea what it was, it tasted of garlic and herbs with some spice. The coleslaw was also exceptional and the onion rings were perfect. The Steak was cooked to a medium rare, and tasted “mega”. Overall mega service, mega food ! Highly recommend 👍👍

Nice steakhouse with a Louisiana style vibe. We got the aged tenderloins with the garlic mash. The steak was lovely and there was a slight error with one of the steaks but the owner had it corrected which we felt was very good customer service. It can be very Smokey there so if your eyes are sensitive keep that in mind and it would be best to book a table as it is very busy, we went on a Wednesday night and we’re lucky to get a table as all were pretty much reserved.

Although you might think Thai food is a must while visiting Thailand, you have the opportunity to try one of the best restaurants ever! The shack has the best music, the best service and most of all, the best barbecue ever! Words from an expert Brazilian... I had the opportunity to try the sea food too and I was not disappointed. The Alaskan king crab was better than the red king crab I had in Japan(!!!!!!!!!). Oysters (fine de Claire) were also very fresh and very tasty. I travel to Samui every chance I have just to have a meal in this restaurant. You will NEVER be disappointed... unless it is high season and you forgot to book a table. In this case you might not sit. The word is spread already and everyone wants to grab a bite! If you have the chance to meet the owner you will see that his contagious happiness and caring is also what makes this place so amazing!

From the moment we stepped in, Johan greeted us and we greatly welcomed. The atmosphere was vibrant, with great music and style—although we didn't realize it was a bar with lively tunes. My wife, who prefers a quieter dining experience where you can actually hear each other talk 😁, found the staff made a commendable effort to accommodate us, even on a bustling evening. The steaks, ribs, burgers and pork chops? Simply top-notch. The staff? Incredibly attentive. It might not the cheapest spot in town, but definitely one of the best steakhouses around, and still far cheaper than what we pay back home. We were there to celebrate our middle son's special day. The staff went all out to the embarrassment of our teenager—classic! It was a cozy evening filled with excellent hospitality. Highly recommended!

Well well known as the go-to spot on Samui for cuts of beef and seafood, and this place lives up to this title. Friends and I enjoyed virtually all the menus from starters to the mains. I will just mention that the highlight was automatically the steaks, which we enjoyed in three different cuts (should've opted for more). The doneness were consistent with every cuts. The sides were equally enjoyable and plentiful. Another highlight would be the restaurant manager's very own home-made chimichurri sauce - such a surprisingly great add-on to enjoying the dinner. The steamed barramundi was also wonderful, something to complement our only-beef mains. Service was nice, welcoming and attentive. Ambiance is open-air. The restaurant is located in Fisherman's Village bustling zone so flourishes of people in and out is as expected. Overall, very enjoyable. Would love to return!

Excellent meal We booked a month in advance, we were made very welcome Excellent service, very tasty food, To my delight there was one last Wagyu steak left for that evening. And he was really great. The burger was excellent and juicy too Excellent massaged entrecote The sauces that come with the dish, each one more wrong We really liked the chimichurri, pepper and blue cheese. The Shack in Koh Samui's Fisherman’s Village is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with great vibes, good music, and outstanding service. Toby and Mookie made sure we were well taken care of, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more special. The food was good—perfectly cooked steak and fresh lobster. The relaxed yet lively atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a memorable night out. Our group had so much fun. Whether you're a steak lover or a seafood fan, The Shack is a must-visit in Koh Samui!
