The Shalimar Hotel (August Kranti Marg)

Everything about the hotel speaks of great organization. The room was compact, bordering on small, but had all necessary facilities. A beverage station and complimentary snacks, functioning AC, fan, comfy bed, good storage, superb lighting, good shower and running hot water. The large window helped fill the room with natural light. ||The breakfast spread was amazing in terms of taste, quality and variety - a veritable feast! . The terrace setting was very nice too. ||The lounge area near the reception was lovely and there were sweet oranges placed in a bowl for use by the customers. The black board at the lounge area announced free snacks at the terrace for a limited time in the evening. ||Consider the location and cost and it is obvious that this hotel punches way above its weight.

Stayed there for a family emergency with my aged father and in his words this is a "cute" hotel. Things that impressed us: |- Each room has its own name - my room was called Dark Horse |- Breakfast at the rooftop is interesting, not a massive spread like a luxury hotel but everything that's good and fair bit of cutomised options. |- Having limited abled people to play morning flute and offer free foot massage was very touching. |- Welcome drink at the reception all day |- Good and different coffee and tea options in the room |- Games at lobby like Chess. ||Good staff and good, clean basic value for money hotel in the heart of South Mumbai.

When a guest stays for such a long period of time, it is quite natural to come across hotel employees who make the guests' stay comfortable on a day to day basis. Really nice stay. I was in a suite which was based on the lovely town of Pondicherry. I have been to Pondicherry and really love that small town. So this hotel has designed a suite based on this town. Really very well done.|The food options in the hotel are multiple and really worth trying. unfortunately did not get a chance to visit the spa due to time shortage. Overall a great stay.

This hotel does something so cool and different from other hotels I’ve been to in India, they offer complimentary snacks in the evening from 5:30-6:30pm which offers you an opportunity to try local food. They also put a few snacks in your room which was a really nice touch. They also offer a complimentary foot massage each morning which is a really nice to have. The staff are incredibly nice. The best part of my room was the little balcony. The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable though! It’s a well located hotel and about 5km from most tourist attractions and taxis are easy to come by.

I often stay at The Shalimar hotel and I find the rooms and amenities very comfortable. Staff is also courteous and prompt in service. I like the boutique concept of differently designed rooms. The rooms have fans which give me a choice of feeling cool and not cold if I don't want the AC on. There is a lot of F&B choice at the hotel and you MUST try the bakery ! Overall a comfortable home away from home experience.

Shalimar Hotel 2-10 January 2024||||I called the Shalimar Hotel Staff at the last minute. They gladly accommodated An impromptu business trip to Mumbai after New Years posed lodging challenges. despite hosting families attending weddings from the U.S. and Germany. ||I had the privilege of staying in the Jefferson Suite. The furniture, posters of US Presidents, preamble all resemble those commonly found in Washington D.C. hotels. While their restaurants were undergoing major renovations, room service and roof top café breakfasts were simply awesome. The food, desserts, drinks are some of Mumbai’s best. Rohit (room attendant) ensured the room was immaculate with plenty of complimentary bottled water. Both air conditioners were operational the entire week with 90 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures outside. ||Especially noteworthy, is the professionalism of Mr. Nilesh Shinde who ensured the operational efficiency and accountability of every Staff member resulted in a positive experience. Smiling and helpful staff in a conveniently located hotel. The hotel is by the August Kranti Marg, took me 50 min from the Mumbai Airport in a cab. It has quite a few eateries within a 500m radius. Rooms are clean and very well maintained. Good selection of coffee and chai ☕️ in rooms. Breakfast on the terrace is an added attraction with a delicious and healthy spread. A well recommended stay of one is in South Mumbai.
