We honestly spent an amazing time over. The food was excellent, the owner, not other than the chef, and employees were lovely people. Even if you're in the cold of Scotland, you feel warm and taken care of, as they never miss anything for your comfort. There are nice walks to do nearby, whether you like the fields or the sea. If you're searching for peace, quiet with amazing food, even only for dinner, and confort to travel your way throughout Scotland, this is the place to visit.

We were there for a two day midweek break. |Check in was quick by a friendly receptionist and room was ready on arriva|Room was on the first floor and very spacious. Beds were large and very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless with an excellent shower. The village was very quiet and we had an excellent sleep|We had dinner on the first night. Good choices on the menu and plentiful, plates were cleared.|Breakfast was excellent again with plenty of choice served by a bubbly waitress. Only tiny issue was breakfast served between 7:30 and 9:00 otherwise great wee hotel and restraunt excellent location for plenty of walking nearby.

We stayed for 2 nights at the ship to celebrate my dad’s 80th. He loves his food and the reviews looked good for having a birthday meal there. |We had a dog friendly room, and they can sometimes be a bit grotty, but no complaints here. Our modern room was spotless, the bed huge and amazingly comfy. Had tea & coffee with kettle but also a coffee/hot chocolate machine. Our dog got a welcome bag with a toy and treats! |We booked breakfast as part of our stay and it is well worth the small extra cost. We had the Scottish breakfast, which is huge if you have everything, but was all eaten as it tasted amazing. Also had scrambled eggs & smoked salmon which was delicious - plenty of salmon! And there was toast, juices, yoghurts, fruits and cereal. |Bar was well stocked and well behaved dogs were allowed in too. |Evening meals were absolutely delicious and it’s worth a visit to the restaurant even if you aren’t staying there. Beef Sunday dinner was yummy (roast potatoes could have done with being crispier though) and for the birthday meal we all had the venison wellington which was so delicious. Starters were also lovely and the chessboard finished the meal of perfectly (could have done with a blue cheese though!).|Staff were all very friendly, chatty and helped make the birthday stay a bit more memorable - have forgotten names but the waiter originally from Leeds and the waitress at breakfast who recommended beaches to visit were brilliant. |Would highly recommend a visit here and we are hoping to have a return visit next year!

Excellent location in the village, Gate House of Fleet is excellent for traveling around the area. FOOD, If you have breakfast you must try the jams and marmalades they supply that are made in the village, delicious. We went to the local coffee shop and bought many home as gifts for Christmas. The evening meals were fantastic as was our maitre d'hotel, the venison and haggis was a huge portion, starter wise the scallops are a must have. Room was very comfortable with a luxurious bathroom. Suggest booking direct with the hotel to get full details of all the rooms available and great rates.

A pleasant stay right in the heart of Gate House of Fleet. The owners and staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help us. The food was delicious from the breakfast to the evening meal. We had a lovely room with a large bath and separate shower. The room was spacious, with tea & coffee making facilities. Including a coffee pod machine. We loved it and hope to return in the summer.

A warm welcome, the lady on reception was very helpful on arrival with our elderly parents assisting with our luggage.|The whole hotel was spotless we ate at the hotel all 3 nights of our stay the food at every meal was excellent as were the freshly cooked breakfasts. Being able to eat with our two small dogs was a bonus all the staff were very attentive and made us & them feel welcome. |We will definitely stay again next time we visit the area.

Staff friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our double room and ensuite were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Snacks and WiFi provided. The restaurant downstairs was great - good ambience, varied menu and well cooked evening meal. An excellent breakfast for a very reasonable B&B price. A very pleasant location and the small supermarket opens early till late 7 days a week.||We were part of a small tour group this time so didn't need to use the facilities for cyclists but we did check them out and were very impressed. My husband cycles regularly and is already planning to return next year.

I had the loveliest time staying at The Ship Inn this past week. The Inn is absolutely lovely, warm, clean, gorgeous interior, beautiful restaurant, lovely food and amazing owners and staff who can’t do enough for you. I’ll definitely be going back and am already planning my next trip, hopefully for longer. I really recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!
