Good for those who want to try out hostel living, however bunk beds remind me too much of singapore national service even though it is mixed gender but an interesting experience. Interesting to know the lifestyle of those on working holiday visas. Still I will give a 5 star for everything as the location is near a car rental company. Also I do not believe in the perth housing crisis, as one has to be resourceful to look around or further than perth, and to look for "ulu" areas as we call it in singapore. Also the reviews are not a true reflection of the the property, so for australia do not look at the rating number alone. Do note that this is a shared accomodation, so take note if ur a light sleeper, and if you have booked it you still can use the property for breakfast, as well to microwave for lunch and dinner. another way is to book this property for one or two days, then shift. all the best to those who are looking for employment in perth and australia. Also the owner is a big guy at least 1.85 meters and above tall, don't think there is a need to pour so much negative comments, as he is earning a living like anyone else. anyway it is what it is shared accomodation, I would like to say again research the best u can, and if it doesn't fit for one or two days, change to stay in another property. however the bottom line is that necessities are provided for. If you want first class accomodation, then book the InterContinental Hotel or Ritz Carlton :) To get the best prices, look look and look, google and the internet is ur best friend :) will add pictures as I update this review. added on how to take the train from airport central to mciver station, then walk to shiralee which is the fastest. Also added the luggage storage area.

A nice hostel not too far from Perth city center. Good things I liked: - Comfortable mattress, with a small curtain for a little privacy- Staffs were nice and helpful- common areas, kitchen, and showers/toilets were cleaned daily- Plus point: Breakfast included (simple toasts with peanut butter/Jam/choc spread)- Free coffee and tea (not the best quality but ok)- near bus stop and grocery (Woolworths)Not so good things:- rooms are quite cramped- no signage outside, bit confusing & hard to find for first timers- Most of the furniture and kitchen facilities are quite old - front porch & yard seems messy & unaesthetic- Price-to-quality ratio: okThe free breakfast, nice & helpful staff, kitchen space and social areas make this hostel recommendable. However, needs for hostel signage & revamping of all spaces & furnitures would make it a highly recommended hostel.

Best all-around hostel in Perth and very reasonable price. Was a long term resident there and can say from personal experience that it is a great place to make friends and meet people from all over. The common areas, kitchen, and bathrooms are kept tidy by the staff and they are always willing to go the extra mile to help make your stay better. The free breakfast, central location, large kitchen space and social areas all attribute to making this hostel an ideal place to stay while new to Perth. It is very common to see backpackers (including myself) to arrive and stay for a few nights, check out, and then book a bed for the next available night which can sometimes be weeks away due to high demand. Would recommend to book for 2-3 weeks to not need to go through constantly switching hostels.

Good things: -Comfortable mattress -Most of the staff was nice and helpful -Toilets and floors were cleaned daily -Breakfast included (toasts with PB/Jam/Nutella) -Free coffee and tea (not the best quality but not too bad) Bad things: -Quite cramped, not a lot of space to walk through, -There is no sign outside where the hostel is, it is confusing for first time stayers, hard to find the hostel at first. I recommend putting a sign or anything, -A lot of long term stayers, not so willing to socialize, -Not a lot of space in the fridges, most of the space taken by the long term stayers, same for dry food places, -People leave dirty dishes -Reception is closed from 12pm to 6pm which is weird, -Most of the furniture and kitchen facilities are old and not in the best condition, the hostel could use general renovation. Price-to-quality ratio: not so bad

This Hostel should close and treat bedbugs. The carpets are dirty. I did not understand why they do so many washing machine at the beginning. Now I know. You would better sleep in a tant or at the beach. Anyway If you made the reservation you will see by yourself. They have bedbugs and prefer speaking about their rating on hostelworld and Google maps than treating the problem. I'm not the only adviser speaking about bedbugs

My flight got cancelled last min and the hostel was accomodating in letting me check in 2 days later. I did not get my money back, mainly because only a specific person could do the partial refund and they only worked in the morning (the front desk has limited hours), and I forgot to inquire again😆but that’s ok. Taking the L. This hostel is in a great location. It’s quite central to the downtown area. Right on the next road is literally little Asia. There’s so many restaurants to eat at and very close by to grocery stores if you plan to cook. There’s a lot of long-term peeps staying here, so fridge space is full, but lots of stoves and spots to prepare and cook food. The free breakfast runs out quick so gotta get up early if you want first dibs to the toast ahah. The bathrooms and rooms are ok, a little dusty and could use more love. I do like that there’s Unisex bathrooms if you want more privacy and can do it all in one go. The bath rugs could use an update ahah. My shelf on the top bunk had a layer of dust that I did not love, but we always make it work around here. Both staff and guests here were quite nice overall. It honestly wasn’t a bad stay. Do check your email before you arrive. You’ll need that important info to get in if you go during off hours. 🤪

Just asking why this hostel don't give you a voucher when it's not possible to stay. ALL THE OTHERS HOSTEL doing that even if the booking is non refundable but not here. I asked for keep my booking for another day but it's just impossible, they treat you like an idiot. And very disrespectful. I am traveling for 2 years in australia and first time i see that. Good luck. ✌️

Yelp
I have stayed at quite a few hostels and this is def one of the better ones. $60 for a double/triple room, nice staff and people living there, its clean and have a good kitchen for everyone to use. Close to city center as well. Would stay there again!

Yelp
This is without a doubt the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The reception desk, unmanned when I arrived, had warning notices intended to prevent the spread of bedbugs. How they failed. Perhaps I was not the typical hostel demographic, as I was working at the university when I stayed and thus needed to get up in the morning, but unless you prefer to be forcibly kept awake (if the bedbugs didn't already do that) listening to awful drunken renditions of Blur songs on acoustic guitar, you might also wish to look elsewhere. Oh, also, the showers were filthy.

Yelp
probably some of the best facilitys a hostel in perth could have. it has been renovated since the last reviewer. **we popped in to check it out as i had been curious with the renovating taking place on my daily walk near the Brisbane street location, however i have not stayed a night here, more for looking at locations for relatives coming to stay. I have lived in Perth my whole life and one thing still is a reality as always.. the shocking prices of hotels..this hostel had better, newer facilities than most 3+ star hotels in Perth and quite frankly what some people charge on gumtree is a joke for short stay. From what i saw they had foxtel, internet, free internet according to a sign for a limited time, brand new bathrooms, rooms, carpets, laundry, sweet little kitchen set up with all new retro dehlongi appliances and tv lounge area, a small outdoor area which looked like it had either a vegie garden or it was just plants with seating and a vending machine. all under $40 a night. that is already better than any hostel/hotel in perth offers so i dont really care if some dude did play me blur on the guitar my value for money, experience would be better than the guy at the Duxton in a room you paid $100+ a night for, and the 2/3 star hotels in Perth are dated and have old bedding etc
