Yelp
I've been coming here for almost a year now, and consistency is among many reasons why I keep coming back. The staff, atmosphere, clientele, drink and food menus, and quality put into their craft is exceptional.
The food:
I'm no crepe expert, but the crepes made here are authentic and unlike any I've had. They're light textured yet filling and always delicious. The menu is not your typical garden variety. There's not necessarily something for everyone. Rather, The Shop focuses on what it does best (Crepes and lighter fare apps), and that is what makes it so unique here in Binghamton. They're damn good.
Recommend: Any of their savory crepes with havarti or red pepper eggplant whip.
The drinks:
On the other hand, The drink menu does have something for everyone, from quality wines, to craft beers, to custom cocktails to a stacked espresso bar. The espresso machine seems to always be running until closing time.
Recommended: Whiskey blueberry compote soda, espresso vodka martini.
The staff and atmosphere:
They'll make you smile. Whether it's a quiet Tuesday afternoon or a busy Friday night, the staff is attentive, accommodating and generous. I love going into a place and getting the feeling that the staff is actually happy you're there. If you're not familiar with their drinks or ingredients, just ask and they're happy to explain. It's relaxing, clean and has a romantically upscale industrial (yeah, call it hipster) vibe.
You probably wouldn't be able to pinpoint the owners, whom I've been fortunate enough to become familiar with, since they're here day and night working amongst the rest of the staff making crepes, serving drinks, welcome guests and truly owning their business. That's something I don't often recognize here in Binghamton and quite honestly, it's impressive.
