"San Antonio's Most Luxurious Outdoor Shopping Mall You don't have to leave the Texas sunshine behind to get a little shopping done at The Shops at La Cantera. The outdoor shopping mall is home to some of the most elite names in retail including Neiman Marcus, Burberry, bebe and Tiffany & Co., but not everything here will break your budget. Lined with palm trees and water features, this mall is a great place to take a leisurely stroll, and that's something that won't cost you a penny."

Great restaurants and stores in a beautiful setting. Plenty of parking all around. My personal favorite restaurants, Perry’s, Cheesecake Factory, Whiskey Cakes & Yard House.

One of the best spots in San Antonio I really love it. I lived the design of the place with the trees, water features, and everything else. A great number of cafes, restaurants and shops. It will be one of my best spots😉

I go here to walk around. It has definitely changed since 2020. It's so beautiful. All the water features and fountains. The stores are nice, lots of variety. If anyone has a chance to come to San Antonio this where the should visit. This really 2/4 places I like here in San Antonio. The restaurants are nice, like the food is great. I've been out here a few times now and haven't had one bad experience. The movie theater is awesome.

🌟 Definitely my new favorite place for shopping and lunch, dinner, brunch or coffee, creperie and bakery! It has all my favorite stores, my favorite restaurants and the entire mall has trees, fountains, waterfalls, making the time much more enjoyable than the regular malls! It is extremely safe and well maintained! Perfect for spending great hours with family and friends!!

Google
A nice outdoor shopping area with Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillards, and Macy's at the forefront. They have Gucci, 2 Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Rolex, Tiffany & co, tory Burch, apple, Victoria secret, Nike, and more.

Google
Love shopping here with and without my pups. There’s plenty of dog friendly stores, some even have water bowls outside and my dogs were even offered treats by the employees at Lush the other day. It’s spacious with lots of spots to sit. The selection of stores and places to eat/drink is also great. We enjoy the Christmas displays and the market events they have throughout the year.

Google
Excellent staff with such kindness. The ladies took the appropriate time with me to make a selection. I'd recommend this shop for shoppers that are seeking to purchase a new fragrance. Thank you staff.

Yelp
I was able to walk in to JDs and get the shoes I wanted without hassle. There are a lot of good stores and restaurants here. We also had Yard House for lunch and stopped by Cheesecake Factory for desert. Be prepared to walk but it's def worth it. JDs had a great selection and a decent sale on the out of season items. Everyone was helpful. The wait wasn't bad.

Yelp
All day shoppppppppiiiinnnnggggg La Cantera is nestled on the northwest side of San Antonio just off 1604 & I-10. I entered from the north side of the shops which included a view of the Six Flags quarry and La Cantera resort. After finding a parking spot near Nordstorm's, I set on my adventure to find a specific dress. What I didn't realize is how spread out the center is in the area. When I parked, I wondered how I was going to get to Macy's from Nord. Thank goodness for good walking shoes. I spent the day hitting the anchors - Macys, Dillard, Neiman's, Nordstrom - plus Clarks, Chicos, and places in-between. I really should have pulled up a map, but did enjoy wondering what was around the corner - to find little surprises like Warby Parker & Kendra. Why 4 stars? Because I didn't have a map, I didn't naturally see where to get a snack. I do believe that some restaurants are on the outside and I vaguely remember a few drink options and a candy spot. Next time, I should pay attention to food signage (that I don't recall seeing). It also gets 4 stars for the parking...it was difficult and it was not a holiday weekend. I do not know what the solution is, but I am sure there is an engineer out there - she has a solution! I really enjoyed this shopping adventure.

Yelp
A very relaxing shopping and dining experience. The atmosphere and the location is pleasant. Lots of dining options for a nice coffee with your date or friends. Light and full course meals.

Yelp
My favorite Swarovski in Texas to shop at. Compared to the others this store is voted #1 in Texas in my book. The customer service is kind , knowledgeable and thoughtful. Until I moved to Houston area I didn't realize how nice the San Antonio location was. We will be back at this La Cantera location to add to my collection because of the exemplary customer service.

Yelp
The shops at La Cantera cover such a big area, so put on your walking shoes. Great mix of stores and restaurants to choose from. This is an outdoor mall basically so you will be out in the elements which can be great when the weather is nice and so much better than being a in a stuffy mall right on top of people. They are also pretty dog friendly as long as they're on a leash or in a dog carrier. I noticed the stores that allow dogs in have stickers outside saying "we're dog friendly". There is a beverage station to self pour beer and other places selling mixed drinks as well as lots of outdoor seating areas. A small child playscape is near Macy's but it can get crowded very quickly on a busy day. Lots of parking as well as valet if you'd rather save your steps for the actual shops.

Yelp
Really impressed by the landscaping of this place. It's actually gorgeous, and strikes a lovely balance between nature and built fixtures, integrating water elements as well. Most outdoor malls don't really go this extra mile, creating a relaxed hangout for patrons. I appreciate anywhere where even low-income folks can walk around for free but feel a little fancy and upscale. =) It's a pretty sizeable mall too in terms of the number of stores available to shop at. You could easily spend an entire day here browsing. Tons of restaurants to choose from too! And drink kiosks- including alcohol! Very tempting on a hot day. We were here while the Fredricksberg Peach Festival was going on (from 11am-6pm), and a few awnings/booths had been set up in the center area, along with a live band. Awesome ambiance and it's cool events like these take place at this mall, making a weekend visit more special. I'd definitely go here a lot more often if I didn't live all the way up in Buda (near Austin). My only gripe was the parking situation. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of parking surrounding the entire mall- it SEEMS like there should be enough, but apparently not. We drove around quite awhile trying to find a spot on a Saturday afternoon. There were a decent number of restroom facilities spread throughout the plaza (and the one I went to was clean and stocked), and the directories were reasonably frequent and legible as well.

Yelp
Visiting La Cantera can easily be an all-day experience. There's SO many amazing shops. From high-end to....end. And it's beautiful!

Christopher E.

Yelp
Nice lay out and mixture of retail stores. There is something for everyone from snacks, to clothing and shoes.

Yelp
Going to start off by saying this is the best mall in San Antonio in my opinion. There seems to be a store for every kind of shopper here. If you are near the barnes and nobles side you will find most of the common shops you would find at other malls like H&M, Hollister, American eagle. However if you start to make your way past the apple store towards Neiman Marcus, you will find more of the higher end stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, etc. If it is your first time visiting here in San Antonio please check out La Cantera. Also wanted to note that this is an outdoor mall so try to come on a nice day when the weather is sunn

Yelp
My Go To mall when the weather's great and I feel like getting my steps-in on my watch haha The shoppes themselves are well taken care of and normally decorated to match the season/holiday. The stores are a nice variety and match the mall's decor/style.

Yelp
Great place to shop, plenty of stores and great places to eat. Went there for the day and enjoyed the walk around and shopped for various items. It was nice to have options to snack on different treats and places to get lunch. This outdoor mall was beautiful and clean. I loved the decor of the mall and plants around. It's a very friendly place and lots to look at.

Yelp
Compared to most of San Antonio, this Malk is a breath of fresh air ! All the good shops and awesome restaurants. His mall looks brand new and is particularly beautiful. Special Note ! EV Charging is free ! That is so welcoming !

Yelp
One of my favorite areas in SA. The layout of La Cantera is beautiful with plenty of benches, a gazebo, plants/flowers and a fountain. La Cantera gets crowded during the weekends, so parking can be difficult. During the Christmas season they light the plaza and in the summer you can see fireworks from Six Flags. La Cantera is filled with restaurants and places to shop (Forever 21, Francesca's, Altar'd State etc. I recommend Sweet Paris for brunch, The Baked Bear or Scooped Cookie Dough Bar for dessert. For dinner Whiskey Cake (their whiskey cake is amazing), The Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill, Luciano's etc. Needless there are plenty of shops/places to eat at La Cantera.

Yelp
This place is great for walking around, getting outside, and looking at things you'd never heard of. They have all your typical mall stores (Macy's, Michael Kors, etc) but they also have some smaller mom and pop places that are incredible. They have everything from lower budget (American Eagle) all the way to LV or Anthropologie. There's something for everyone here which is great! As far as covid goes: everyone we saw today was wearing a mask UNLESS they were sitting down eating/ drinking. There were tons of hand sanitizer stations all around and every store we went into was also following the protocols/ limiting. Places like Victoria Secret and Bath and Body works had lines out the door (30-40 min wait). There's tons of shade, beautiful landscaping, & tons of places to sit and relax.

Yelp
Not friendly shopping area. Crowded, hard to find parking, lots of understaffed stores, expensive for what they offer. Irrelevant merchants.

Yelp
Came when hello kitty was In town. Missed out when they came a few months ago. Everything was smooth and they actually started selling early which def helped out with my day.

Yelp
Stopped here while staying at La Cantera Resort and Spa in June 2023. Wanted to do a little shopping and grab food. We knew what some of the shops would be, but did not anticipate that most would be low end chain stores e.g. Journeys, Forever 21, Buckle, Spencer's Gifts, PacSun, etc.. Not to be pretentious, but given its location, near an expensive resort, I expected a higher end shopping experience. To be fair, they do have Norman Marcus and Nordstroms as well as an Omega watch store and an Apple Store. We are from Dallas and if you are familiar with Dallas, we were expecting the North Park Mall, or at least The Galleria, not The Parks at Arlington. 3 Stars for the few higher end stores they do have.

Yelp
Nice shopping area However, Need decent maps , Very confusing. Especially when they say upper level but don't tell you how to get there Beautiful outdoor shops, clean, some shade, lots of restaurants but hard to find specific stores. Signs will point up but you do not know if they mean you the stairs or walking forward. Need to update their map to be interactive or at least bolder colors and prInt.

Yelp
My experience? APPALLING and absolutely abhorrent. I went on December 21 2024 to go Christmas shopping and I walked out feeling overstimulated and odious. We arrived around 3 in the afternoon feeling great and excited for our shopping experience. When we went to find parking there was not a SINGLE parking spot, typical right? So we decided we would take it to valet and have them park it. We wait in the long line and even experienced rude people who CUT in-front of us in the damn line. After about 20 minutes waiting in the valet line some middle aged man came up to us, couldn't even speak English, and looked quite unprofessional. He informed us that he was not able to take our car to valet because it was "too wide" even though it is a simple 2013 Ford 150. Annoying but we understood to a degree. So we had to wait another ten minutes because there was a truck in front of us that had to move. After waiting we see the same exact valet employee get in, put the car in drive and drive to the valet parking spot! Mind you, this truck was a 2022 GMC dual. Absolutely egregious and ill-mannered. I expect and expected better from a such seemed "professional" and "wealthy" mall.

Yelp
Such a nice shopping plaza!! This was recommended to me by an Uber driver and I'm glad it was! Very new looking and really well done. They have an open air shopping experience with tons of comfortable seating area, fountains and lush greenery. It was almost like walking in a nice park. There are high end shops and more standard shops as well so the mix was good. They have several anchor chains on either end. Towards the Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom side are the higher end brand name shops. Towards Dillard's and Macy's you'll find the more mainstream shops. Check out all the little fountains and couches. There is nice shading from the trees and it's a great place to sit and drink a coffee or do some work. Overall: A+ Beautiful grounds, plenty of shops and restaurants, and very easy to enjoy.

Yelp
The Obama era, also known as the Yes We Can period, is over. Now we are in the "No We Can't-era." How depressing. This is a pretty spectacular fancy extensive outdoor mall which has a lot of high-end stores and it's pretty awesome. One of the most beautiful and elaborate malls I've ever seen in my life, in fact. It's located very far north of San Antonio in the distant suburbs and covers a massive space with massive amounts of parking, and is a real chore to get into here, because of the way they built it, with all the windy roads and lakes. Feels like you're entering some kind of country club or fancy resort. But it's basically a huge outdoor shopping City where you can walk around for ages and when Barbie walks around here in heels she gets all the looks and it's awesome. This is basically the only place she's ever worn those particular Heels by the way.
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
Nice looking outdoor mall with an upscale feel. Reminds me of UTC in La Jolla, CA. Didn't have much time to shop around since the mall was closing when we got there. Came specifically for the VS after hours event. Long line going in, but the employees were helpful and I got what I wanted in an hr!
google avatar

Juliet H.

Yelp
Outdoor shopping at its finest! All the brands are here y'all! I love that it's super clean, and heavily decorated with plant life (actually, I noticed that seems to be the norm in SA and I'm here for it). The parking wasn't atrocious either! We were able to park close and saw other available spots although the place was full. It seems as if the setup helps with the flow of people. There were long lines anywhere, and the service was great! The Shops at La Cantera has it all and was definitely one of my favorite shopping experiences in SA, hands down!
google avatar

Minnie M.

Yelp
The go to one stop shop for outdoor eating, shopping and relaxing with friends and family!! We love bringing our out of town friends and family here. I also have frequented this place for dates and celebrations. So much variety and my go to spot for finding the perfect gift !

Yelp
It's always been a beautifully landscaped area. Dozens and dozens of stores, restaurants, kiosks, etc. you want something, it's probably there. It is a fairly large area. It seems they have added additional tables and chair areas to rest and eat any snack you may have purchased. Also many benches throughout the property. The one irritating thing is remembering where you park. I try and remember a store as a landmark. Like today, I used Scoops. I find Scoops when I leave and I know to walk straight out that path to the parking lot. Ha, ha. I am stupid. Trying to find Scoops again was maddening. The maps they have posted throughout the property are worthless. The 'you are here' annotations do not help. I believe it would help if they oriented the maps to where you are actually standing. This is why we only visit every few tears. It's too frustrating when you're trying to leave.

Christopher V.

Yelp
I used to think this was a safe place and family environment, but do to the numerous break ins of personal vehicles i don't feel safe anymore. This is supposed to be a nice side of town. And unfortunately you can't even shop and walk around without having the fear of someone violating your vehicle. Security is present but does a very poor job of patrolling the areas. Also they say they have cameras, but in reality they don't help with anything. I don't recommend this shopping center anymore. Now I'm left with a unexpected payment of a broken glass and busted alarm system.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this mall. UTSA students are lucky to have it so close. La Cantera is like the Domain at Austin, but without being packed to the brim. La Cantera has a ton of plants, and have a good amount of exclusive shops you don't find anywhere else at Texas. There also aren't many cars driving around. I saw a tea shop, which is pretty interesting to find at a mall. Food options aren't really great though. While many of the restaurants looked fairly new, I didn't see anything that particularly stood out.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
We had a great experience with Christopher the online return counter. He was very friendly and our transaction went smoothly. Wish other retailers had more people like him.

Yelp
We visited San Antonio for the day and this was our first stop. I was impressed with the layout of the mall - beautifully landscaped but do dress comfy for plenty of walking. Outdoor mall has a huge selection of brand name stores at various price points to please just about any shopper. I stopped by LV - not impressed (refer to individual review) and Quay - absolutely adore their affordable sunnies. Service at Quay was great - although busy, we were quickly greeted and informed of the "offer/great buy for the day". I bought two replacement sunnies for travel - one could never have too many. I did not get a chance to stop by the other shops as we had early dinner plans. I do plan to visit again - worth the trip if you want to explore another venue.
google avatar

Izzy M.

Yelp
I actually recently saw a sign that said "the la cantera is now dog friendly!" Just wanted to let everyone know. Also I think it means anything non the mall just not stores
google avatar

Ry T.

Yelp
Very high end designer shops. The mall is very nice, outdoors and clean. Not many dining options here. And hardly any place to sit when your feet are tired from walking. There is a Tiffany store, great for teens who like to wear over priced silver for status. It has a Stepford wife look to this place. Or a place the bored, well-kept mistress would go to spend her time and endowment to stay happy.
google avatar

Lucinda B.

Yelp
Lots of great shopping. Plenty stores to suit all ages and budgets. Wonderful landscaping and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Donovan T.

Yelp
We love coming to The Shops at La Cantera. The shops area is an outdoor low to high end mall. You can get anything from Levi's to Ferragamo. This mall is diverse and located on the best side of town. I'm not just saying that because I live here. Lol. Come to the shops. It's nothing like I have ever seen. The people are nice. It's a smoke free environment but vaping is allowed. I would have to say my favorite thing about this place is the food. The restaurants here are all good. I have only had one bad experience and that was with Palenque Grill and they have since resolved their issue. At night, restaurants like Bar Louie and Kona Grill are nightlife hot spots. Bar Louie has a Dj. I also like Yard House. Yard house has tons of beer in tap. You're bound to find one you love. And to think, all of this excitement and diversity is within walking distance.
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
Where have you been all my life? How did I not know this mall existed and why has it taken me so long to discover this lil gem? So glad I decided to shop here with my daughter instead of playing at Fiesta getting all hot, wet and sweaty next door lol It's so big and spread out here and I love the variety of shops! We can literally spend the whole day here especially on a beautiful sunny day. Love how you can find something for everyone from kids shops to teens stores and more expensive ones in another corner to the main Dillards and Macy's in the corners offering cooler rest areas. There are ample restaurants from pricier ones to fast food and Starbucks for drinks and snacks. Just like any mall but prettier and outdoors. Love the landscape and the mix of tourists that are in SA. A must see of you like to shop and people watch :) Fabulous find!
google avatar

Edgardo M.

Yelp
This place is very well kept and clean for an outdoor mall. It has such a vast of restaurants and stores. You can literally be here all day, well if you had the money to spend like that too. Lol.

David F.

Yelp
The Shops at La Cantera signaling, at one of the most important times of the year, that they no longer want to be the upscale shopping center of choice in San Antonio and instead prefer to go the way of all other San Antonio malls; degenerates welcome here.

Michael A.

Yelp
The entire area of La Cantera is beautiful, full of life, rolling hills ..high end shopping with exquisite stores and dining options galore. They have outdoor bars and cantinas where you can order a drink and legally walk around with open containers on site of the shops, for those who enjoy alcohol. The "Hill country" location is what makes it even better . It's right next-door to a Tier 1-University, UTSA, and backs up to the San Antonio Spurs world training headquarters compound and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Lots of young professionals ,college students, as well as professional athletes and families frequent here. The area is booming with development like never seen before. Parking, like any big city , can be very hard to find on busy days. This is San Antonio's version of the Domain in Austin; This is San Antonio's version of the Galleria in Houston. And I've got to say San Antonio is finally holding his own.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
When the weather is right, nothing beats a stroll through The Shops at La Cantera! They keep the grounds itself nice and well manicured. Plus I've noticed that they're very good at keeping the area free from trash and clutter. Parking is plentiful, but dont expect to find a VIP parking on their high traffic days. The store selection is really good, from high-end to mid-end stores, plus kiosks and carts offering various gadgets and services. Restuarant selection is also good considering there is no longer a traditional food court. Great happy hours are also available on various days and times, so definitely worth the visit.
google avatar

Makalia M.

Yelp
The small definitely reminds me back home in California. The mall is outdoor but has all the really expensive high-end stores as some would say. They have a bunch of food restaurants and shopping and he's really nice and you're out on a nice day in San Antonio. I definitely recommend the small four people visiting from out of town. Lacantera area is huge with even more food restaurants and shopping around this area.
google avatar

Tutti S.

Yelp
Great shopping here. Many stores to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the shadiness of the place, since this is the type of mall that you have to go in and out of each store. You can spend a whole day if you want to visit most stores. Good selections.
google avatar

Angela F. W.

Yelp
The only mall I go in SA! Between North Star and La Cantera, I will pick the latter any day. Yea even any day in the rain or 100 degree weather! I like outdoor malls in general and have shopped at many across the country. I know this isn't the Grove in LA but for SA it is the best you can get. The outdoor space is beautiful with lots of places to sit and there are actually a decent variety of stores to shop at. And believe it or not you see nicely dressed ppl here. Very rare in this town! Overall, I think it's better than the Domain in Austin. Well, that's just me. SA needs more places like the La Cantera. But then again it wouldn't be SA. Shrugs.
google avatar

Hoa L.

Yelp
Before this mall came along, the best mall in town was probably the Outlets of San Marcos. I love how they were able to repurpose the Quarry area and turn it into a splendid beauty of stones tucked in beside a rolling hill country, Six Flags, and a resort. All of the main department stores you want are located here. From basics such as Dillard's and Macy's to luxury brands like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. The selection of stores range from fast food restaurants like Chick Fil A to bohemian chic like Athropologie to classy, smart Stuart Weitzman. The main concern is the heal wave of Texas in the summer. All the shops are located in doors with outdoor walkways. In the beauty of Fall, this leads to romantic cool evening strolls, or beautiful Spring floral scents. Summer leans towards heat stroke and tan lines. However, most mall lovers won't let a pesky thing like heat bother them from shopping away. And, if you want to stop into Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, you won't feel the blazing heat. Finding a good parking space can be difficult, but some areas have valet parking. If you are needing a quick stop location near the restaurants, I enjoy the Macy's parking lot adjacent to the I Barnes and Nobles. Yes, even the aging book store has a brick and mortar location here. Technically, there are enough stores to keep you busy from breakfast to midnight bar hopping.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor shopping center in San Antonio. Parking is a pain, but it has everything from Forever 21 to Macy's, Dillards, Neiman, Nordstrom, Abercrombie, Aldo, Victoria's Secret, Barnes & Noble, along with a few restaurant & eatery options. Think they took away the food court? They need some food stands for people who don't wanna eat at a sit-down restaurant. Great shopping experience for when the weather is nice, but the TX heat can make it exhausting to shop during the summer. Be prepared to walk.

Lance W.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to shop and maybe grab an afternoon snack. I believe everyone ended up with a couple items and we managed a little ice cream as well!! Great place, clean, just what we were looking for!!
google avatar

Stefanie L.

Yelp
This is the cutest outdoor mall! The landscaping is done beautifully! There are two levels of shops. They have a good amount of high end stores like Neimans, Lulu, Tory Burch, Burberry, etc. My husband and I came her not really looking for anything particular. It was a fun place to just wander around. They also have a lot of really great restaurants attached to the mall like Whiskey Cake, Perry's, Cheesecake Factory, Bar Louie, etc. I would definitely recommend coming here and spending an afternoon shopping and eating!

Kaylee C.

Yelp
Most beautiful place I've ever been I loved the golf course and the cafe was to die for

Maggie H.

Yelp
Genesis and Ashton were amazing bar tenders/servers for our Saturday night meal! We always love sitting at bars to eat, always fun to people watch; however, Genesis and Ashton made our experience so much fun! Great food, fun conversation, wonderful service and of course, we will be back! Thank you! Maggie & Joe

Yelp
By far the best shopping mall in San Antonio. We stayed in San Antonio for a week prior to Christmas to do our shopping and tour this great city. After visiting just about every shopping mall we decided La Cantera was way far the best. Yes, even better than Riverwalk! Why, it's the shopping, the open air, the great selection of stores, the better selection of restaurants, easy and ample parking and beautifully landscaped walks. Although the mall touts an upscale shopping experience, visitors will find many stores that they are familiar with at other malls. However the experience is definitely upscale and there are those high end shops that some of us can only dream of shopping in one day. As you walk you will find so many places to sit and relax. One of my peeves with most malls is how this is lacking. You will find sidewalk benches, open tables and even a rock or two with resting on. As for restaurants they have many including some of the trending places like Whiskey Cake or the good old standbys like Perry's. I noticed the designers built in shade as they constructed the mall. Though wasn't necessary on my last visits here i can imagine it is during the summer.
google avatar

Tomas R.

Yelp
Signature mall that hosts all of the major brands one would like to expect. Accommodating those who enjoy high-end fashion to those who like more accessible brands such as H&M, there's something for everyone. The restaurant and bar selection is great and you can find places such as Kona Grill, Cheesecake Factory, Yard House, Whiskey Cake, PF Changs, and so much more! They even have a small Bite Bistro. Around the holiday season, you can see this place beautifully decorated. I also enjoy the various events they have. Ample amount of parking and expect to walk around longer since it is really well maintained! Shop during the week and avoid the weekend crowds.
