We chose to have a baby shower at the Shore Club this December. Dorina Bregu, Wedding and Events Sales Director was outstanding! She couldn't have been more accommodating. She knows the place and the people she works with, her recommendations were key to making this gathering top notch. At the time of event the staff introduced themselves and checked in throughout to make sure our vision was what they delivered! I was very impressed with the coordination and attentiveness. They put up Christmas trees for us and moved things around seamlessly. Their response time was minutes! The prices were very affordable, family members are considering future events here too. I understand they are under new ownership, the vibe is positive and promising. Home of the new OLEA restaurant. I wish them all success.

Very Disappointing & Not Worth the Price We stayed at this hotel while in town for a friend’s wedding. Based on the website and photos, we were extremely excited for what looked like a luxury experience. Unfortunately, the reality was nothing like what was advertised. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and the new restaurant looked great, but that was the only positive part of our stay. After arriving, we waited nearly 20 minutes at check-in before anyone came to the desk. Once someone finally assisted us, we were brought to our room only to find it very small, dirty, with mold on the ceiling and chipping paint. To make things worse, the heat didn’t work, which is unacceptable during this winter season. The employee who checked us in did apologize and said he couldn’t fix the heat, so he “upgraded” us to a deluxe room. While the room was larger, it was still not clean or well maintained. We also had no body wash and asked the front desk twice for it. Both times they said they would bring some, and they never did. Several of our friends stayed at the same hotel and also had issues. Some rooms were dirty, and one couple had a broken door lock and had to put a chair against the door at night just to feel safe. Another one of our friends had no working hot water. There was also a broken water pipe near our room that we reported. The staff showed little concern and had no sense of urgency about addressing it, which was very unsettling. Checkout was the final straw. The front desk attendant was unfriendly and charged us almost $1,000, which was incorrect because we were charged for the wrong room. It took extra time and frustration to sort out something that never should have happened. The area itself is great with plenty to do, but this hotel is absolutely not worth the money. It looks beautiful online but fails in cleanliness, comfort, customer service, and value. We would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Our wedding was one year ago today. The Shore Club had everything we wanted on site: a beautiful ceremony space, cocktail hour room, reception ballroom, a bridal suite, and rooms for our guests. The package included so much, including an extensive cocktail hour that guests raved about, signature drinks, a wedding cake, and a late night snack for guests. No need to pay for an after party - they keep the lobby bar open late! Chelsea, and later Dorina, answered every question and made sure every concern we had was addressed. The staff, including Penny and Heidi, were so attentive and ensured that our day went smoothly. They set up all our decor and even offer some beautiful decor and centerpieces. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that after our room block was filled, and we still had guests who wanted to stay, we learned that other rooms had been reserved for the wedding the next day. This didn’t seem fair, but there were several boutique and chain hotels very close by that were able to accommodate our guests. Other than that, we really could not have asked for a better experience. We would highly recommend The Shore Club!

We stayed here for a wedding, and while the wedding itself was absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious, the hotel experience was a huge letdown. Our mattress was 32 years old and hard as a rock—truly one of the most uncomfortable nights I’ve ever had in a hotel. The room felt very run down; it’s clear they’ve made a few updates, but nowhere near enough to make the space feel comfortable and certainly not enough to justify the price. On our second night (out of three), we started hearing a loud knocking noise that wouldn’t stop. When we called the front desk, an employee came up, stepped one foot into the room, and immediately said, “Yeah, I can’t fix that. Do you want another room?” He moved us next door but didn’t offer to help with our bags or anything. The service felt incredibly subpar. The lobby is gorgeous—clearly where all the renovation money went—but that level of care doesn’t extend to the guest rooms or the service. Overall, the wedding was wonderful, but the hotel itself was awful. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We recently stayed at The Shore Club for 1 night to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday. We drove in from PA. This place is cute and has a beautiful chandelier in the entryway with plants all over. It makes a nice impression when you enter. They host a lot of weddings and parties here. There was a wedding the night we stayed. Everyone seemed very happy and were having fun. Our room was small and casual but fine. The staff were really nice.

On 12.03.25 a bus load of folks when to the shore Club for a fun day trip. The "beef" lunch selection was so touch the steak knife could not even cut it. Drinks were good, waitress was very accommodating. Decorations were poorly displayed. The comedian was old with very old jokes and attire. Seating at table #25 was a joke. Could not see a thing & even though the girls had lovely voices they seemed unprepared and catered to the folks facing the band. We saw a little off the ceiling mirrors. A total waste of time & $$$. Never again!

Google
My room had a very friendly creature living there already! He hissed at me at first but I gave him a piece of cheese and that seemed to make him happy. There were some bugs around when I first checked in, but once I'd pacified the creature he cleaned em up real quick. Should be a lovely stay as long as he doesn't get out! EDIT: He got out.

The hotels around here are expensive so we chose this one for about $240. It was worth about $59. The sink was pedestal no space for anything. The toilet was hard to flush. The faucet was barely attached to the sink, and the water backed up the entire time. The. beds are a foam and mine was lopsided the refrigerator does not work. There is no microwave. I had to walk outside for quite a bit down into a grungy basement level with a warped door, the man who checked us in told us he did not know if breakfast was going to be a buffet or continental it turned out to be apple jacks and some wrapped stale bagels with a bug flying around it. I cannot emphasize stale enough. The lobby is deceiving because it has a very beautiful staircase and floor, but the rest of the place is decrepit. I would not stay here again. I gave it a two instead of a one because the room was clean, even though there are tons of black and gray watches of gunk all over the drapes

Yelp
We were visiting Spring Lake, NJ for the first time. It was listed as having one of the nicest villages and beaches in the State. There weren't many options available to stay close to the beach....the Shore Club was perfect. It was a 5 minute drive to the beach - with parking everywhere at no cost. It was a five minute drive to the village of Spring Lake. It was a five minute drive to the town of Manasquan....it's centrally located to everything. We had a room in the main building-it was cooler at night and we were out during the day, so we never had to use the air conditioning unit. It was a nice quiet room - looking out over the pool and stage in the back. We spent one evening listening to a small band playing at the pool. The management at the hotel was very accommodating and gracious. We would stay again as we're definitely going back to Spring Lake!

Yelp
One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The pictures of the room on the website were not even close to what it actually was. The ceiling was just painted cinder blocks. The customer service was also not great. I went to the front desk to ask for a first aid kit and the worker was asleep. Once he woke up, he dug through some boxes and was able to find 2 bandaids and a disinfectant wipe that expired in 2021. You can tell that this used to be a nice hotel and I'm sure it was but it has severely gone downhill and I wish I could have stayed at a motel that's the same quality and a third of the pric

Yelp
Room was very clean. Water, coffee and tea in room Refrigerator in room Staff very helpful when requests made. Be informed that weddings and parties take place and you might hear the sounds in your room. Walls are thin and voices travel.

Yelp
I would not leave any stars if possible. Went to a wedding there...so unorganized, and the food was literally inedible. I feel sorry for brides parents for spending so much money and everything was worse than cafeteria food. The lines for buffet were ridiculously long.. Shame on you shore club...u need to do better or get outta the business

Yelp
Stayed here two nights to attend a wedding that was happening down the street on NYE. The lobby was amazingly beautiful- loved it. However, the room was incredibly dark - just two end table lamps in the main area, only one of which worked and the bed was very uncomfortable with some noisy plastic under the sheet (we didn't want to look). The bathroom shower was nice, but most of the room seemed like it hadn't been updated in a while. Since it was winter we didn't get to enjoy the pool or pool bar but I'd bet in the summer that part is nice. It's a little on the small side and there's no hot tub but there's also not many rooms. I'd consider going back.

Yelp
My wife and I had an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting. We were impressed not only with the food but with the impeccable service. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This hotel is not just a poor representation of the services it advertises, but an actual outright lie. Not only does this not qualify as a 'Resort' (other hotels would not attempt that award given the equivalent amenities, or lack thereof), nor as a Spa as it actually does not even have a Spa (wishing/hoping/planning to have one does not count). The Shore Club Resort & Spa is without a doubt the lowest grade basic motel I have ever stayed in, albeit with an attached restaurant, and the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in of my 57 years on this planet. Hotels do not have motel design where your room is accessed entirely externally, like a chalet room. Where should I start? Perhaps with the bathroom ceiling which was bowed and stained under the weight of the water that was leaking from the room/floor above and was causing the light fitting to fall out. Or perhaps with the shower with a floor/base that is so poorly designed/fitted (incl. screen) that it leaks onto the bathroom floor, flooding it. Perhaps as a result of the water leaks throughout, the electric outlet(s) in the bathroom also didn't work (no electricity), and the light bulbs over the sink were each grade of state for all 3 bulbs; one out, one almost dead and the third bright. The floors was dirty and sand covered when we arrived, with no towels available in the room with the excuse that there had been a delay with delivery on check-in; I had to go explicitly ask/demand those later which were tired/worn and had both holes and had lost any soft texture/plushness. There were holes in the walls, the appearance of someone having chiseled/forced the door, significant chipped paint and a loose window within it's frame. There was only one light serving the bed area/room despite all photos suggesting 2 bedside lights as would be standard in any motel/hotel room. There was 1 insignificant seat and no table providing minimal counter top space to use; there was a rusty fixed (screwed) attachment on one of the bedside tables that I can only assume was supposed to once hold a prior tv remote perhaps. There was no in-room safe to provide secure storage, as is standard in all motel/hotel accomodations these days. There was no WiFi in the room or facility other than the lobby space. There was no full length mirror nor adequate mirror (one tiny port-hole style attempt mounted high on wall) to use for dressing or make-up, for my wife, which was a missing necessity considering the lighting was out in the bathroom. Did I mention the failing bathroom extractor fan that was loud vibrating as it attempted to continue to function? Don't take my word for any of this; review the photos I uploaded on other sites (such as tripadvisor, since apparently not an option here) to see for yourself and compare against the glossy fictitious representation on the facility's website. Finally, to complete the setting, the occupant of the (chalet) room below was a marijuana / weed addict who clearly couldn't stop using for more than 10 minutes and so our 'room' smelt of skunk the entire time we stayed there. This facility should actually be reported to a trading standards authority. Stay here at your peril; you have been warned.

Yelp
Went for their Thanksgiving Buffet and wasn't impressed. The interior seems nice enough and the room with the buffet was spacious. Had a 3:00 seating and sat @ 3:15. Not bad because it was busy. The food was meh at best. I don't eat turkey, but my dad and aunt were upset it was only the breast. Also, said the stuffing was like glue. Plenty of options in chafing dishes and not too many had flavor. The coconut shrimp weren't bad, but soggy and fell apart. I did enjoy the Butternut Squash soup. Salad bar was okay. Liked the dressing. Our server was good. Attentive and made sure the coffee was hot! Still, had high hopes for this play, but poor execution resulting in an incomplete pass.

Yelp
This place was great to have lunch and use their pool with some friends, but they literally changed the policy yesterday mandating that you have to be a guest. So sorry, I'm giving you guys a one star because you literally changed the policy the day before the fourth of July and that's not cool.

Rosie F.

Yelp
The staff was attentive and lovely, however the room was dirty, dark and dingy. The door did not lock, the TV remote was missing - they don't even give you a bar of soap! The room was comprised of mismatched furniture that must have been found on the roadside. I contacted the hotel after our stay - but no one has responded so I am now posting on Yelp. Do not stay at this establishment - it was a terrible disappointment!

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. I was last here for a wedding 10 years ago and it was fantastic. But over the past weekend I attended as a wedding guest and was so disappointed in the experience. Firstly there was no one present to greet and direct guests where to go on arrival so they left us in the lobby for about 30 minutes. We were finally told to walk through this weird maze of ball rooms to the very back (I think the atrium room). On the way in we had to walk through and step over piles of garbage from someone else's event (what a horrible way to enter a wedding reception!). The food was terrible, presentation of everything was sad. Such a shame knowing how much money the bride and groom paid.

Yelp
Hi I bought my family there for Mothers Day.... This was the worst Mothers Day Brunch !!! All the food was cold.... The Turkey , ham & roast beef ... The sweet & mashed potato potato bar was cold.. the macaroni cheese bar was cold and the food had been there for a long time !!! We had a server refuse to get us clean silverware ... and another server would not carve Turkey for a person in our party ... We had 2 people in our party not even eat anything but salad ... the food quality was poor .. I spoke to one of the managers and we explained our dissatisfaction and we were offered on 20% off the entire bill... which only subtracted the mandatory tip which had been added to our check ... I would not recommend this brunch !!! TroyP...

Yelp
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. We were here for a wedding this past weekend. We checked into the "newly renovated hotel" for $200 a night. When I say this is one of the most disgusting places I have ever seen, it is a low end cheap motel. The first room they gave us, which was "cleaned" had hair all over the bathroom floor and in the sink. There was dirt/dust being blown from the AC unit onto the "cleaned" bed. The toilet did not work and would not flush. I went down and told the people at the front desk, they told me they would send someone down to the room to clean the bathroom again and fix the toilet. I figured I would give them some time so I looked up that there was target 5 minutes away so I went to go get lysol and disinfectant wipes because I was so grossed out at this point. I came back an hour later and no one had been to the room to clean or fix the toilet. I had to get ready for the wedding I was supposed to be attending in 2 hours. I went back down to the front desk and told them again I needed a different room. They finally put me in a different room and again this room was just as bad. Disgustingly dirty, awfully renovated and I honestly just did not feel safe. I was crying at this point. My family works in hotels and I told the front desk that this is not ok, not up to code and how can you advertise the pictures of the renovated rooms and then put me in the past 2 rooms I was in and charge me $200 for one night. They did end up comping my room for the night and I told them it did not matter, I was not sleeping here anyway. I would drive home at 2 AM after the wedding. I was so entirely grossed out by the place. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Sheri E.

Yelp
Well if you are considering staying here think again overpriced for a moldy dirty room. No towels or toilet paper had to go to front desk to get . Did not sleep the entire night due to being itchy felt like there was sand in the sheets . Save your money . A hot weekend and hardly any air in the common areas

Michael B.

Yelp
READ YOUR CONFIRMATION about the bands being heard in numerous rooms. I get it: for some this is an important night, but give THEM those rooms. After a separate family event, we wanted a nice, clean, quiet room. BUT we ended up DIRECTLY above the band playing until ~11:45pm with no further recourse. The a-t-t-e-m-p-t to make this a nice place is evident. But we walked into our room to an obvious disinfectant smell, the toilet seat loose, poor paint job over door hinges and light switches, no caffeinated morning coffee and a horrible, cluttered view of the service carts. Could have been worse? Sure.

Gloria P.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and delicious! Atmosphere is soothing! The service and staff are wonderful!!

Yelp
We booked a three-day getaway for the Jersey Shore. I reviewed the hotel on their website and the indications were that this was a modern hotel. To our surprise on check-in, we were assigned a ground level room (possibly basement) that was very tired. Not refurbished or renovated possibly in the past thirty years. Possibly some indication renovation was in progress, but definitely not ready for primetime. A construction crew was right outside our door. We were disappointed and voiced our concern the next day, explaining the room was not what was represented in their website. We were moved to a room that was in keeping with their representation on their website. The hotel did not appear to be fully occupied. I don't understand why we were not offered the upgraded room in the first place. We left a day early due to weather and were told we would not be charged for that day. When I looked at my credit card activity online, I realized I had been charged for the day early we departed. I called and emailed several times to resolve the overcharge and was told the manager would call me back. A week later I have not heard from the manager.

Yelp
SAFE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND SEEK A MORE FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE VENUE. ITS YOUR WEDDING DAY AND YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO SUFFER................... I could not pass up writing a review of my families most beloved venue OR should I say was. YOU WILL WANT TO READ THIS! I PROMISE. The original owner Mike Doolan , created the "it" spot which later turned into a wedding venue, Doolans Shore Club. This family was known for their welcoming spirit and hospitality, just ask around the shore...(I live out of state so that's impressive.) Sixty plus years they put their blood sweat and tears into making sure that this was part of their legacy. Fast forward to my wedding back in july 2015. I discovered Doolans through my new family. Most of them had their wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, renewals at Doolans shore club. So, Naturally that's were I had my wedding. I had an amazing time. I was accommodated in any way possibly including all of my guests. Granted Doolans was a bit dated but the way I was treated made me forget all of those things. I was greeted with a smile, felt like I was home. If I had an issue with anything it was immediately addressed. Sadly, Doolans lost the Patriarch and most recently the Matriarch of the family. Then it was either sold or under new management. I still don't have a clear idea about this. If they only answered the phone or responded to voicemails I would have a better idea. So, now we are here . This day marked the 6th month of me calling to contact The shore club.... Previously Doolans to set up our Anniversary dinner. I called and was unable to reach anyone. I did reach someone on the previous Wednesday which was a male , did not give his name when answering. I explained to him I would like to set up an anniversary dinner and no one has returned my calls. I also mentioned I was given a credit for an anniversary dinner and would like set that date up in July. He proceeded to tell me "We do not honor any credits, gifts cards or prepaid rooms that are under the current prices of rooms now , anymore." I asked if I could see if it was possible the manager would honor it. Given the history of the club and how most recently my father in law took his girlfriend for a dinner, for the record he wasn't impressed but that's another story. He said a manager would call me back. It is now next Tuesday and I called The shore club to speak to a manager. No answer, and not surprised. I left a message. Doolans finally called me back. I spoke to a female , again no name. The refuse to give names now so I cannot address them properly. I speak for a few minutes explaining how I would like to set up an anniversary dinner and if it was possible to honor the credit? her response "Okay, so I don't understand why you were telling me this." I responded "Ma'am I spent a few minuets explaining this to you because I need you to understand how and from who I received the dinner credit and if I can redeem it'. Her response "t don't catch an attitude with me." My response "I am sorry I am merely expelling the situation so you can understand why I had this request and we have been on the phone for several minutes now and I am re explaining it, I hope you can understand my frustration and it was not my intention to be rude." " Her response " When you can not have an attitude you can call back ." So, I called back only to find out she BLOCKED me from calling. I am beyond mortified that a business would EVER treat someone this way. Once a favorite spot has now just really changed my whole perception of this place. If the shore club was willing to : - Not return my calls for 6 months -Use a rude snide tone with me -Hang up on me -Block me -and not honor my credit (Mind you that is such bad business practice and everyone knows that) Then this isn't the place for me or any of my family members anymore ....... It's not about the money it's about the principal. This place went from class to trash ...Fast

Shari L.

Yelp
The place advertised that they just renovated their facility. When you arrived, there is a red carpet to enter the lobby. Lobby area was very nice. When we got to our room the entry door has chipped paint. Inside the door was chipped paint. Above the AC unit paint was chipped. There was an area to hang your clothing but no hangers. In the small bathroom the electric outlet did not work. The paint on the bathroom door looked like a kid painted it. I addressed the electric issue with the front desk, they sent someone to the room and no resolution. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. The ceiling leaked from the room above us. I addressed all of these issues with the from desk when leaving. They want to charge $217.00 a night for a crappy place. I told them this place reminded me of a place where hookers would meet up for a quickie. They told me that the rooms above me were renovated. I told them why advertised newly renovated when it's obvious the room we were given was not. Run from this place! Wished I would have read the reviews prior to saying. The pictures on their website were clearly not what our room looked like.

Yelp
The Shore Club did not disappoint on Nov 6, 2022! Family, friends, bride and groom...everyone had a blast at my daughter's wedding! You don't need perfection to have a wonder-filled event as no venue is ever perfect. The Shore Club's location is spectacular, the servers were super friendly, and attention to detail was key. Chelsea is an experienced event planner who helped us greatly with details, and Penny was our wonderful maitre de who ensured that the evening flowed beautifully. The Shore Club is under new management and continues to make improvements and renovations. Our guests enjoyed the ambiance of the wedding ceremony in the Atrium, the cocktail hour in the ballroom and the smooth flow into the wedding reception. The Shore Club staff was accommodating and very pleasant to work with. We had a very nice experience.

Marlee E.

Yelp
I came here for a wedding and Brian was the best bartender ever. Highly recommend this place for your wedding and the happy hour and Brian in general

Randy W.

Yelp
Was here a year ago and just came back with my wife and kids for a nice weekend. Once again the Shore Club did not disappoint, all the major updates they did around the pool is amazingly beautiful!! And the waterfall they installed makes it even better as your having dinner at the pool bar you can hear the sound of the waterfall while listening to a live bad on the weekend as well. Friendly staff, good food. 10/10

Yelp
Okay the two stars is for the girl who gave us the tour, she was awesome. The place, so not a wedding venue. The chandelier in the ballroom was basically touching my fiancés head... he's 6 foot. Ugly parking lot too. But the tour guide was great!! Could be a nice wedding if you want a small, shore, space and you're okay with a motel! Not our vibe.

Joe N.

Yelp
This place is HORRIBLE. do not have an event or wedding here. Food was horrible, staffing inadequate, facility non-ADA COMPLIANT. VERY POOR.

S A.

Yelp
Considering this hotel is in Spring Lake, it was quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, the staff was rude and there were ants in the bathroom. Very romantic! To make it even more memorable, "pool side" means "walk around a dark uneven concrete floor to a door you can't see because there are no lights to show you where you are going". Perfect night.

Colby S.

Yelp
such a fun, cute place to go for dinner and drinks with friends! the winter wonderland/ santa's hideaway pop up is perfect for anyone that loves christmas time. the short rib sliders and crab cakes were amazing and the espresso martinis never miss! love this place!

Thomas S.

Yelp
Went here for wedding. The food was scarce, the venue was in need of repairs, the bartenders were useless and just plain rude. Horrible venue for a wedding period!

Barbara D.

Yelp
Phenomenal service. Restaurant service and food was great!! Rooms are clean and they have everything you need. I would definitely recommend staying /dining here.

Jillian R.

Yelp
Requested a room months in advance for a hotel party and was apart of a bridal party. To find out my to was further than expected for the bride and groom. Trouble parking, trouble signing in. Small ros for each party (checked in for the bride and groom and found the room was SUPER BASIC.

Yelp
I was invited to Mother's Day brunch at the Shore Club and was so impressed!! The renovations are beautiful..... very elegant and inviting. I started with a peach Bellini (definitely recommend) and the spread of food offered everything from bacon and eggs to prime rib and crab cakes.....and the dessert section was tremendous (I may have over-indulged!) We will definitely be back!!!

Erin B.

Yelp
The Shore Club was delightful! There is a variety of food offerings at the Sea Crest Grille that will not disappoint. I highly recommend the sea scallops. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The service was exceptional and everyone who worked there was very accommodating. We will definitely be back for another stay!

John S.

Yelp
Place is beautiful!!! Was there for Easter Brunch today and it was great..Food and service were both great. Will definitely be back soon

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel Saturday through Monday and I came home feeling like I was part of their family our king room was beautiful ,spacious, up to date and very clean ! the staff goes above and beyond for each guest we are so excited we booked our future wedding block here for 2022 this place is literally our new hidden gem it was peaceful by the pool for three days they even throw in some floats! My only complaint was we didn't book the wedding here ! We had no idea it was so nice !
